We got there around 6 PM got seated immediately waitress came to the table pretty quickly brought us our drinks again pretty quickly we placed our order , and again the food came pretty quickly, but to say it was disappointing is a huge understatement. I had gotten a Poboy sandwich it had two tiny pieces of cod that were 90% breading and look like they had been soaked and oil for a half hour extremely greasy and the roll it was on was so chewy you couldn't bite through it kind of like when you put a stale loaf of bread in the microwave the tomatoes on it were green and they're supposed to be dressing on it nope not there, but the fries were excellent, my wife ordered oysters fried and a small house salad with ranch dressing and a Pepsi. The Pepsi was flat. The ranch dressing was in a tiny little cup and hardly enough for half the salad again tomatoes on it she had to throw out because they were green and flavorless and half of the lettuce was brown and slimy, she said the oysters did not taste that fresh and were heavy on the breading, she asked for extra lemon they brought her a plate with lemon slices that look like somebody had chewed on them. I probably should've said something to the waitress, but she seemed a bit preoccupied with her other tables really wasn't around much never offered us drink refills, showed up with the food showed up with the check and pretty much that's all we saw of her, overall just a crappy experience and I know it's not a five star fine dining restaurant but when I go in and spend $60 on a meal for two people, I would like it to at least be somewhat enjoyable, it just was a total disappointment. It's highly unlikely that I will go back. I've been to several of their locations. I've never been overwhelmed at any of them, but most of the time it's been solid, the funny thing is my wife said why don't we go to Culver's tonight and I said no let's go to the angry crab shack and she said OK that sounds better she was very disappointed and so was I and it cost me three times as much as it would have to go to Culver's so there's that as well. I never complain about the price in any of my reviews when I go out to eat, it's not about how much it costs I couldn't care less about that. I'm there to have a nice meal and I don't have a problem paying the price for it at the same time,I don't wanna feel like I pissed away my money on garbage that's kind of how I felt last night.

She was very patient amidst my pondering of the menu and gave good suggestions. I ended up ordering a kids turkey and cheese meal, a chicken walnut salad, and a half sandwich half salad entree along with some chipper cookies. Our food came out quickly and was incredibly fresh, appealing to the eyes, and so yummy. The staff did an amazing job of whipping out quality food rapidly, working as a team to meet everyone's needs, getting orders correct and quickly, and they even had someone come around to give refills, take plates, and accommodate any other dining need. I am always excited when a new restaurant opens up in my neighborhood. I am a big fan and proponent of shopping local, especially in food establishments. I won't lie, when I first researched the Mellow Mushroom and found out that they were a franchise, I was a tad sad. Then I learned that each of the 110 restaurants are completely different from one another - no cookie cutter layouts here! I had the pleasure to sit down with owners Jay and Diana, and was impressed with how they give back to our community. One of the first things you notice about each Mellow Mushroom location is the unique art on the walls. At the Happy Valley location I recognized shots of the local Phoenix scene and great art from local Phoenicians. As part of being in the Mellow Mushroom family, each location gives back a substantial amount of money to local artists to outfit each location with visual wonderfulness. I enjoy good wine, but when you go to the Mellow Mushroom, it is the beers that have top reign here. With more than 36 beers on tap, (Tempe has 48) it is very easy to pair the perfect beer to your pie. When you become a regular here and don't see your favorite libation on tap - just ask. If you are there often enough, they are more than happy to bring it in for you. I was stunned. Seriously? I could just name my poison and you will bring it in? Now that is what I call service! There is even a Beer Club that you can join if you want to taste all of their beers. My love for root beer started when I was very young and I would ask for one each time we went out for pizza (long before there was delivery). The Sonoran Root Beer is crafted locally and made from Sonoran Desert honey, plus it is mighty delicious. Next time I go in I have to try it with a scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Yum!! I admit, I have eaten at the Mushroom quite a few times, and often enjoy their Happy Hour from 3-6pm and I have been known to come back for their Reverse Happy Hour from 10pm-2am. Seriously - can't go wrong with half priced appetizers and beers. The crowd is usually those coming in for a beer after work and meeting a buddy to relax a bit before going home. One of my favorite appetizers is definitely the Spinach & Artichoke Dip - tons of cheesy goodness with the right mix of spinach and artichoke hearts. Often times, I split the Capri salad with its delicious mix of fresh mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, and the most orgasmic balsamic reduction that I have ever tasted. OMG - can I have a bottle of that reduction please!?! Meatballs. Seriously. I just need to say it again - Meatballs. These are freaking awesome! The sauce is sweet, just the way I like it, fresh basil, shaved Parmesan, and inside each meatball is a soft cheesy center = Heaven. Please make more because I am not sharing! I am not usually a fan of pretzels, but boy was I pleasantly surprised when I tasted theirs! You could taste the freshness and the softness when they came right out of the oven. The pretzel dough tasted like it had been mixed with honey - actually it's made with molasses and Georgia Spring Water. I was hooked! For all of the Vegan lovers out there, the dough is Vegan, but make sure to ask for it sans the Parmesan cheese. The same dough that made those awesome pretzels also creates the crust for their signatures pizzas. That is the only thing required from each franchise is that the dough is made in their flagship location in Atlanta, Georgia. On one of my adventures to the Mellow Mushroom, I had the help of eating my way through a few of the pizzas with @skinnyjeans aka @noshtopia. Read her review as she talks about all the great gluten-free and vegan items that are on their menu. The owners' son came up with a pizza that is unique to Arizona, but with the name of the establishment, I was quite surprised that not all of the franchises have it on their menus - the Fun Guy Pizza. This is by far my favorite pizza and it has five different types of mushrooms loaded on it: Shiitake, Crimini, Button, Portobello, and Oyster Mushrooms with lots of Mozzarella cheese and the sauce is a house-made Grilled Mushroom Vinaigrette. I'm in love. I seriously didn't want to share. I have tried all of these pizza too: * Kosmic Karma: This pizza has a love of olive oil and pesto chicken, with tons of sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, Feta, and fresh tomatoes. Loved it!! * House Special: Their signature pizza loaded with flavor and freshness with Pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, black olives, tomatoes, ham, bacon, and of course, extra cheese. * Mighty Meaty: Stacked with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, ground beef, ham, and bacon Read the full review here: http://bit.ly/ijJJXh read more

Mellow Mushroom is all about Happy Hour. Since Mellow is located between my place of employment and my house, I frequent Mellow Mushroom for happy hour at least a few times a week. The bar layout is great! It's a horseshoe bar with 15 or so bar stools, which are always filled, and some scattered tables and booths in the bar area. There is also a patio out the back door which is attached to the bar. The bartenders are rad, but sometimes get over worked with orders. Mellow Mushroom is packed every day, however I usually never have an empty glass. The bar is loaded with 6 to 8 flat screen televisions which always have sports playing. They have every DirecTV package so if hockey is your thing, this is your bar! The beer selection is awesome. They have a vast selection of draught (28 or so on tap, even a draught root beer for the kids), bottles (about 15 different "flavors"), and a couple different variates of canned beer (MGD, Coors Light, PBR and a couple of craft cans like Trout and Dale's). Draught beer comes in 16 and 20 ounce sizes for "normal" beer and 9 ounce snifters for the high gravity beers such as Rouge Old Crusty. Pricing is a bit of a concern at Mellow Mushroom. The 16 ouncers run 6 bucks a pop and the 20 ouncers are 7 bucks. Hi-grav beers are a little more at $9. Bottles range from the 4 and 5 dollar range for normal bottles up to $25 bombers from the Rogue brewery. Cans are a little cheaper at $2.50 to $5.00 a can. The combat to the pricing is Happy Hour. On weekdays, Monday through Friday (for those who aren't completely aware of what weekdays are) from 3-6 PM and from 10 PM to close, Mellow Mushroom has half off all alcohol! This makes it very reasonable, especially $1.25 PBR and $2.00 Tecante cans! If rewards are your thing, Mellow Mushroom is for you. They have a Beer Club! Drink 75 different beers, get a plaque on the wall (ala Old Chicago) and get your own mug. At that point you get the big beers at the pint price. Along the way you are also rewarded with beer koozies (25 different beers) and free appetizers (50 different beers). Appetizers are the only food items I've had there, as they are half off during the first happy hour. The homemade pretzels are by far the best. They come in Garlic & Parmesan, Salt, and Cinnamon & Honey. The pretzels are made from the same dough as their pizza crust, which is a wheat bread with a bit of sweetness to it. The artichoke dip and hummus is also out of this world. I'd steer clear of the tomato bisque, it's basically a bowl of marinara sauce. As for other food, I haven't tried it, but they do deliver within a 3 mile radius of the store. This is THE BAR in the northwest valley. P.S. 4 star review because of non-happy hour pricing. read more

Mellow Mushroom... I love you!! This place never fails to keep amazing me. If I were to die and come back in the next life.. I would want to come back as a bad ass restaurant like Mellow Mushroom! Cool now that I have your attention.. The best pizza and beer for miles!! They have a retarded (ridiculously good) selection of craft beers! They are extremely diverse, meaning they have a great selection on tap, canned, and bottled! I was blown away by the amount of local selections they have available. I tried the Moose Drool, Whittaker, and Decadent! All choices were awesome! The Decadent was extremely high in alcohol content, so I was only allowed to have it in a rocks glass (small glass) at a time. If you truly want to get hammered quick, down a couple of those bad boys. HAHA! I downed a few of them not knowing exactly what I was getting myself into..."Hey Marlaina! (bartender) It was me, who threw up in the urinal that one time... I apologize for the mess, and pointing at the other hammered guy across the bar blaming him... I will find a way to make it up to you!!" Well any who yeah... Great beers!! Now on to the food! The reverse happy hour here is retardedly awesome as well. They have these pretzels that allows you to choose three different flavors of any combination! I usually go for the Garlic Parmesan! They are bomb! The Pizza here is freaking incredible! Something about that crust that keeps my attention going back to the pizza! Maybe they put some kind of addictive supplement in there or something but, it's like a slice of heaven! Every time I eat the pizza here it brings me to my happy place. I love being in my happy place FYI.. I really don't have anything bad to say about Mellow Mushroom... Wait there might be one thing.... Nope never mind I can't think of anything. In my opinion.. If you rate this place less than 4 stars you need to reevaluate your life, and have a come to Jesus meeting with your inner demons that blind you from the true treasures of this short and fragile time that you have in this world. Okay I am down typing now my thumbs are hurting and my legs have feel asleep from sitting on the toilet to long writing this review. Cheers! read more

This place is a blast! It's always lively and loud, so come ready to yell over the drone of the next table if you plan on carrying on a conversation. The beer selection is great, with lots of unique brews you don't see at other places, with the obvious exception of the Yard House. The pizza is outstanding!! Again with a lot of very unique toppings and combinations, including the new "house pizza" topped with 5 different types of mushrooms! How mellow is that?! It's usually quite busy at dinner time, especially on Fridays and the weekends but it's worth the wait! Lunch is great too, with some very reasonable prices, considering the quality of the food. You definitely want to check this place out at least once, even if it's just to say you've had a pizza with a sunny side egg on top of it - don't knock it, if you haven't tried it! read more

Mellow Mushroom is one of my favorite HH places, but I will stick to the location at High Street. This Happy Valley location served good tasting appetizers and beverages but the service from my waiter was horrible. Saw him 2 times. Once to take our order and then when I had to flag him down to get my bill as I was waiting forever for him to at least come by to see how everything tasted or if I need anything. Real kicker here is he hardly had any tables. Ordered when I was seated and it took 15 minutes or so to get my beer and then a little over 30 minutes to get 2 appetizers! Dining room not busy so kitchen shouldn't of been overwhelmed and not sure why I never saw my waiter. Manager did not table touch - even the online survey asked if the manager did, so you would think they would've if they knew it is a survey question. read more

Me and my boyfriend had a tradition of going to boba tea house and then eating at mellow mushroom. We never had an issues with bringing our drink in while we waited for food and we always ordered an additional drink to wash down the pizzas with. We've done this about 4-5 times since this used to be one of our favorite spots to eat. Today we went in as usual except we were denied for having "outside drinks". I normally would understand but just last month we were served with our drinks and the server even made a comment on how good they looked. The experience just soured our whole mood since it was totally unexpected. They're very thick smoothies so it's not like I could've sucked them down in 5 seconds. We ended up going to humble pie and they let us bring our drinks in. read more

So my wife has celiacs disease and a dairy allergy as well. While there have been vast improvements in GF pizza over the last few years (plenty of GF crust options), the likelihood of finding dairy free cheese to go with it is not good. When she heard that Mellow Mushroom had both she was anxious to try it. She ordered a GF pizza w/dairy free cheese. When she got the order, it accurately says that, but it most certainly wasn't a GF crust. If you've ever seen someone with celiacs consume gluten it isn't pretty & very painful for them. This lack of control is beyond irresponsible, it's dangerous. Oh, but they'll credit the money spent so you can order from them again. If you have special dietary needs STAY AWAY FROM MELLOW MUSHROOM. Bad business! read more

The girls I talked with were super nice- when I placed my order online I ended up changing it. I understood they would probably need to re-charge me or at least charge the difference. I was right- unfortunately I was never refunded the original amount. I called to bring this to their attention and they told me they were too busy to help me- I was very understanding because I work in customer service so I gave them every piece of information they would need and said it would be fine if they called me back in an hour. The manager never called me back and I still haven't received my refund. The thing that sucks is the food was great, but I won't be back or recommend to anyone. read more

Based on what I've tasted so far (as take-out) I can recommend the Hawaiian-style with ham and pineapple, and the veggie kind with tomato, basil and feta (and possibly something else). Crust was unique and pretty good, but I noticed a tendency of some of my fellow diners not to eat the fairly massive amount of crust. I wasn't so sure about the kind with potatoes and bacon. The bacon itself was done just right, but I wasn't so sure about the combination. Seems like they are possibly trying too hard with too many "unusual" flavors added for effect, just to be different. I will repost when I try more varieties and eat at the restaurant itself to see the atmosphere, etc. read more

I visited this place for a late-night snack since other nearby options were closed. I ordered a half pepperoni, half BBQ chicken pizza along with Sriracha hot wings. While I enjoyed the hot wings and managed to finish them, I found the pizza less satisfactory. The toppings tended to slide off, and the dough didn't appear or taste fully cooked, despite our wait for it to be done. I decided not to finish the pizza out of concern for my stomach. I appreciate that it was late, which might have impacted the quality, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would be open to giving this place another chance during busier hours when they might be more on top of their game. read more

I enjoy Mellow Mushroom. You may say that I am a regular. They have a phenomenal beer list. If you live in the North Valley, you should go. Over 20 craft beers on draught, dozens of greet canned craft brews and the best damn rootbeer around (try it with jager). Unique hand tossed pizza (including Magical Mystery Tour and Baked Potato Pizza). Sandwiches are good, but just chips come with it. Nice staff and great happy hour from 3p-6p and 10p-close (which are the best times to afford to drink the craft beers). read more

So we came in on a Monday night, long story short the two bartenders that were working seemed like only one bartender. The board said Ann Marie and Chris but it should of only said Chris; the dude was running his A off! The girl was gone for maybe 30 min... My bf and I thought that she ended her shift or something... When she came back we were shocked!!! The best part was that she completely ignored the bar! Seemed like she was practicing selective service. All I have to say is poor Chris.... read more

Mellow has always been an easy choice for after work drinks with their reverse happy hour, but unfortunately in the last few months the owners have decided to bring on a new manager Alex Dominguez; there has not been one time we have come in without being harassed by this "man" who has never even served us he will just go to other mangers and guests not unlike a school girl trying to "start crap" in his own words. If managers/investors would like to succeed the only option is termination. read more

I've eaten here about 4 times now. The pizza is really good but anything else I've ordered is just ok. The regular prices are too high for what you get. We did go for happy hour and the half price beer & appetizers made me like the food better. The wings were not that great but for half price they were pretty good. If you want great pizza go here, but for anything else I would pass. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. Atmosphere is great. They do play loud music so if your looking for a quiet place to talk this is not it. Unless you sit outside however, you would be forgoing good service.. they tend to ignore people seated outside. The pretzel's are to die for and the staff is friendly! Reverse happy hour begins at 10pm 1/2 drinks and appetizers. read more

My girlfriend and I finally got a chance to stop in after hearing from multiple people how amazing it is. We found it to be a nice atmosphere and decent food. The pizza crust honestly was the best part for both of us, but we felt like maybe the topping selection was a little limited for our taste. Other than that, we enjoyed the options we went with. read more

Over the years, my wife and I have enjoyed visits to Sauce for some good pizza, salad, and pasta…read more We have visited various locations though this is the location conveniently located near our friends when we made an outing to see them. We stopped at this Sauce along the way and had a delightful experience at this location. We ordered food at the restaurant though we have ordered to go at other locations. We started going to Sauce when Sauce was part of the Fox Restaurants and continued even after it went independent. I have enjoyed their garlic knots (which are served with warm marinara sauce), Classic Caesar salad (with house-made croutons and shaved parmesan), and the Mozzarella, Fontina, and Basil pizza with either chicken and/or pineapple added as toppings. I have also tried the Chicken Caesar and Parmesan pizza (which is a white pizza topped with a chicken caesar salad and grape tomatoes). They also change their menus on occasion or add special menus. For instance, right now, they have the BOGO free promotion for pepperoni and cheese pizzas every Monday in October. This is the Norterra location just off I-17, which is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Friday through Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. They accept online ordering and online catering. You can sign up for their e-family to receive special offers by going to https://www.saucepizzaandwine.com/e-family. You can also join their rewards program at https://www.saucepizzaandwine.com/rewards and receive $5 off your first purchase and a free dessert for your birthday. You would need to use their app to redeem these offers. They also have happy hour on weekdays from 2 PM to 5 PM. Happy hour deals include half off bottles of wine and light bites, $2 off glasses of wine, $6 for one-topping personal pizzas, $1 off beer, and $7 Strawberry-Basil Sparkling Lemonade Spritz. I certainly recommend stopping by Sauce for some good food and good service.

I must say I was not impressed. First mistake was ordering the thin crust, if there's a next time I'll try hand tossed. I only have the pepperoni pizza pictured, because it was incorrect-- it was also supposed to have Italian sausage as an add on and it was left off. Pizza was dry, ironically needed more sauce. Also ordered the chicken pesto, it was ok but again not a fan of thin crust here. Ordered pasta and meatballs, pasta was extremely dry. I also ordered a Caesar salad with which was good, probably the best part of the meal. Overall, I'm not convinced this meal Was worth the $70 I paid.

It had a tasteless crust that and one of the toppings had a really funny after taste (we weren't able to isolate which one). We had a couple bites and ended up giving it away to the guys at the park and bought from another pizza spot. Definitely not our taste and we won't be back.

We came here to celebrate my little nephew's birthday dinner. This was on Labor Day 2026 around 9pm…read moreso it was an hour before closing time. There were lots of different sports playing on the big screens, music in the background, and just a good overall clean vibe inside. The really good thing about Chili's is consistency. Every dish, drink, and appetizer is always served the correct temperature, cooked thoroughly or as requested, and always tastes great. We've been frequent Chili's customers for years and we've never once had to send anything back to the kitchen. There were 6 of us in our group and we ordered a variety of dishes, sides, and drinks. I ordered the Triple Dipper which is a pick 3 meal so I got bone in wings 2x and big bite sliders. It was really good. We didn't order dessert as it was going to be birthday cake time when we got home. Ample handicap parking stalls conveniently close to the front of the place, and they love to run the air conditioning super ice cold so maybe bring a jacket or sweater. I would have given this place 5 stars just on the food alone but there were some things that wasn't too great. 1) We were only checked up on 30 minutes after the food arrived so our drinks needed refilling like 20 minutes ago by that point. This place wasn't busy, there were maybe 3 other diners besides us there. 2) two menu items we wanted to order were out of stock that night: rice and mashed potatoes. My 2 fave carbs, oh no. 3) after our group was done eating, we waited an additional 12 minutes with our empty plates until our server realized we were already done and ready to cash out. I actually felt like giving them 2 stars out of spite but the darn food is really really good so 4 solid stars. Service here is normally 99% very good but maybe because it was Labor Day dinner time last hour closing shift, anyways I still recommend Chili's.
