Over the years, my wife and I have enjoyed visits to Sauce for some good pizza, salad, and pasta. We have visited various locations though this is the location conveniently located near our friends when we made an outing to see them. We stopped at this Sauce along the way and had a delightful experience at this location. We ordered food at the restaurant though we have ordered to go at other locations. We started going to Sauce when Sauce was part of the Fox Restaurants and continued even after it went independent. I have enjoyed their garlic knots (which are served with warm marinara sauce), Classic Caesar salad (with house-made croutons and shaved parmesan), and the Mozzarella, Fontina, and Basil pizza with either chicken and/or pineapple added as toppings. I have also tried the Chicken Caesar and Parmesan pizza (which is a white pizza topped with a chicken caesar salad and grape tomatoes). They also change their menus on occasion or add special menus. For instance, right now, they have the BOGO free promotion for pepperoni and cheese pizzas every Monday in October. This is the Norterra location just off I-17, which is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Friday through Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. They accept online ordering and online catering. This was my first time trying Sauce after having it recommended to me several times. I ordered online for pickup. I've tried other similar concepts (Blaze Pizza, MOD). I must say I was not impressed. First mistake was ordering the thin crust, if there's a next time I'll try hand tossed. I only have the pepperoni pizza pictured, because it was incorrect-- it was also supposed to have Italian sausage as an add on and it was left off. Pizza was dry, ironically needed more sauce. Also ordered the chicken pesto, it was ok but again not a fan of thin crust here. Ordered pasta and meatballs, pasta was extremely dry. I also ordered a Caesar salad with which was good, probably the best part of the meal. Overall, I'm not convinced this meal Was worth the $70 I paid. read more

I'll start with that this was a busy day- Pi day - so there were lots of people and there were all hands on deck making sure everyone was getting served. BUT, I was served DOUGHY, undercooked pizza! My team went to Sauce for lunch on a Wednesday around 11am and had a great experience! There was plenty of seating for our group of 8 at that time, but by 11:30a the place was filling up quick! The restaurant is super clean with a large patio, however I didn't see misters so the patio was totally empty in the middle of a hot summer day. They take your order at the register and then bring your food to the table. For a large group we were pleasantly surprised how quickly the food came out - maybe 15mins after sitting down. No issues with any orders and everyone was VERY happy with their portions and tastiness of food. Our group ordered a variety of items - salads, pizzas, pasta, and some shareable appetizers. The portions are generous and many took half of their food home. The pizza comes on thin or regular crust which is always a nice option to have! Pizzas were hot and fresh, we came not long after opening and they were maybe 40% at capacity so we got lucky to get our food before our movie time. Usually it's super busy but again we went right after opening on a Sunday so it wasn't too bad! Meet family here for an early Christmas lunch. A few people brought dogs so we sat on the patio. The tabletops pop off when you try to move them (I asked if we could move things and was told of course we could) they were wobbly and unstable. Each of us placed our order one pasta we added on the spicy chicken sausage, the girl taking the order didn't type anything so we repeated that we wanted the add on, she said she got it. The two pastas came out first and the one pasta did not have the add on. When asked person who delivered said, oh it's ground meat so I'm sure it's in there. There was no meat at all. Had to go back to the counter to get the meat. By the time our pizzas came out the pasta eater were long done with their meal. Don't understand how they can't time food to come out together. We ordered two desserts with the rest of our order and were told to let them know when we wanted them brought out. Got two of the apple pinwheels for the six of us and only one order came out. Had to wait about 10 minutes for the other half of our group to have their dessert. The food was tasty but the service and overall experience (with everyone eating at different times) was not enjoyable at all. We have eaten here several times and enjoy the food. The only problem is when we order take out they always forget items. This recent visit we sent our son to pick up our order. When he got home the did not pack 5 cookies and also the arugula for one of our pizzas. We tried calling but no one answered. We sent our son back to get the missing item and the young lady at the counter argued with him as if he was being shady and was trying to get free cookies and arugula. This was not a good experience since my son was not given the whole order the accused of trying to get items we did not order. Sorry but their tomato soup has NEVER looked like. I can usually eat it all without anything chunky in it. The pizza we ordered was like eating a wet napkin the grease was so bad. The salad showed up after the pizza, then the bread. Ok. At least those tasted good. Severs weren't interested in helping at all. When I went to ask for a to go box for the salad and bread (not for the pizza) I got a "what's up?" The place was mostly empty and now we know why. This is an order at the front and then find a seat type of place. We came around 5:30 on a Saturday evening and it was fairly crowded. There was a 30 minute wait for pizza. I didn't mind much of this at all but then we got our food. I ordered the Pizza suprema. I had the hand pulled crust. It was ok but nothing spectacular. My husband got the pig pizza. It was also good. He got the thin crust. The reason for my two stars. They had advertised a burrata, herb tomato pizza. The picture looks amazing. What we got .. I think they must have run out of tomatoes and the oven may have stopped browning crust. See pictures for why I say this. I was extremely disappointed and felt it was massive false advertising. I'm not sure if come again. The price doesn't match the quality of food or ambiance since you have to basically wait around until a seat becomes available. We also had to ask twice for water cups which was a little surprising since we asked while we ordered. We usually do pick up, we have only dinned in a couple of times and it was a good experience. It's a order upfront and find your own seat type of place, it gets crowded and noisy sometimes so we just order for pick up. My son loves sauce, it's his favorite place! My daughter chose the half order Mac &Cheese with chicken , my husband, the meatball pannini and I ordered the turkey and havarti with a side cup of tomato soup. My daughter received her order first and then about 8 mins later, they brought my soup. 15-17 minutes later my husband and I received our panninis. I wanted to have soup with my sandwich so I asked if they could re-heat my soup. This took at least 10 mins before they returned my cup of soup. I appreciate that they did give me a new cup of soup, but three other patrons that came in after us and ordered at the register received their food before us. How have a never been here? The vibe is casual, so perfect for lunch or dinner. Come for date night or bring the family. Really up to you. The pizza came out in under 10 minutes, so service is quick. It's a typical walk up and order your own pizza. They have other things like salad/soup/pasta. I'm a pizza kinda girl. I order a prosciutto, bacon, red onion pizza. ALWAYS well done. Average food horrible service they hire a lot of young kids and don't teach them customer support or customer service. Very average food not bad but they are always under staffed or not able to take orders because they didn't staff properly. Same thing they didn't make any adjustments just same chaos and three hour wait for everybody. Today it was fairly early in the middle of the week so not too bad parking, yay! When I arrived inside I was surprised at how busy it was. Once they came we looked over the menu and decided to share an Italian chopped salad and a supreme pizza. We were given our drinks (fountain drinks) and a number. Everything was brought to the table and arrived quickly . The salad and pizza both looked amazing. I'm glad we ordered one salad to share because it was definitely more than enough for two people. The pizza had great flavor and dough though not over cooked I wish it would've been a little toastier just so it didn't flop so easy when picking up a slice. No matter what it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. They definitely have a lunch rush because it cleared out fairly fast once it hit after 12. There is patio seating as well, but it's a bit toasty out still so we opted for inside. I'd definitely come back again. I am a huge pizza lover, but I'd come back even for that salad. Sauce is such a great neighborhood spot. I've been visiting this specific location for years - and I have never experienced anything but great food and great service. If you've been to Norterra before, you know there's plenty of parking available on either side of Sauce. The spots right in front of the restaurant are coveted, so put your SPF on and be prepared to walk a bit ... but I promise this spot is worth it! During my most recent visit, we dined in with a group of five people. They let us know it would be 20-30 minutes before our food was out, since they were in the middle of a lunch rush. That said ... our food was out in less than 10 minutes! We were definitely willing to wait, but the fact that all of our food came out so quickly while they were busy definitely stands out as fantastic service. Between the five of us, we ordered a myriad of dishes. No pizza this time around, but I could definitely eat an entire Prosciutto and Fig pie by myself. I ordered the Italian Chopped salad ... which was bright and flavorful. The crunchy chickpeas and the roasted garlic dressing make this salad exceptional. Other dishes ordered around the table included Sauce's famous Mac & Cheese, their meat lasagna, and the always delicious Chicken, Spinach, and Apple salad. This particular salad is my sister's favorite anywhere in Arizona, and she often recreates it at home. If you've made it this far in reading my review, here's a little local secret -- you can order their Mac & Cheese on top of a pizza. You're welcome. We decided to get a takeout order. It was easy enough to order the pizza and pick it up. Once inspected the pizza looked good. That's where it ends. We order a gluten free crust which cost maybe $4.00 more. My husband has become more gluten conscious while I have no preference. Biting into the pizza not only was the crust terrible (maybe even undercooked) but the toppings slid off so easily and the crust itself was horrible. To both of us it was like cardboard with toppings. Both of us decided it was not worth the calories and since we were dining outside promptly tossed the pizza. Went to Sauce last night for the 2 for $22 Deal that they have for Summer. Definitely worth it! I was impressed to see the employees wearing masks and gloves! They also have distanced/limited seating inside and were wiping tables and chairs down with anti-bacterial wipes after people left. You could tell they took this serious and were doing their best to make a difference. The Italian chop salad was fresh and had lots of flavor! And the thin crust pepperoni pizza was amazing! The 2 for $22 deal comes with 2 soft drinks, 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine (although it comes in a plastic cup these days).
