I say "mildly suprised" because once we walked up to the actual coffee house we heard the live music on the large back patio. One of our absolutely favorite local artist, Aaron Howard was performing, and he definitely brings in a crowd. It was busy, as I mentioned, but not too crowded, and we found a good table towards the back. As it was the begging of the hot weather this spring, we were very grateful for the generous-sized table umbrellas. But first, we went inside the Bodega to order a Beer and a snack. They have a great selection of Beer and wine! And since we were still 2 hours or so away from dinner, we decided to grab a veggie & cheese board, which had a nice variety of cruditè and humas. It was very satisfying for 2 adults. We spent.a total of about 2 hours there and left there knowing we would be coming back to Janey's. Side note: For those of you who need accessibility, I myself am on an electric scooter for ambulating. The parking lot is dirt and only has a couple of handicap parking spots. But no space is more than approximately 150 ft from the entrance to Janey's. Once you get to the building, it is very easy to get in and out of the main bodega, with wide, level doorways. The doors were propped open when we visited. I did not utilize the restroom on this visit.

My wife and I tried Hansen's Barbecue today and walked away with mixed feelings…read more The meat itself was exceptionally tender and juicy, especially the brisket and pulled pork -- clearly cooked well. Unfortunately, both were almost completely devoid of smoke or seasoning, which is kind of a big deal at a barbecue joint. No smoke ring flavor, no salt -- you'll want to bring your own. Oddly, the chicken did have a nice smoky profile, which made the beef even more confusing. On the plus side, the barbecue beans were excellent and the potato salad was solid, easily the highlights of the sides. A couple of things really pulled the experience down. First, the live music felt wildly out of place. Instead of something that fit a barbecue crowd, it was a solo acoustic, Lilith Fair-style performance -- not exactly what you expect in a room full of 55+ Harley riders. It didn't add atmosphere; it distracted from it. Second, the service was painfully slow, which is hard to justify when everything is already cooked and just needs to be plated. Lastly, they offer an Outlaw Light Beer, which I can honestly say ranks among the worst beers I've ever tasted -- and I'm not picky. Bottom line: the barbecue is technically well-cooked but severely lacking in flavor. Because tenderness counts for something, I'm landing at 3 out of 5 stars, but there's a lot of missed potential here.

Happy 5th Anniversary!…read more I popped in to enjoy a quick beer...not having visited I a couple years. So glad I did. Nicole, one of the brewers is super friendly. I enjoyed one of their newest porters, Sweet Night. Pairs perfectly with a cool, overcast day. I wish I were able to attend the party tonight. The stage is set and it looks like it will be a great vibe!

1 star - Disappointing service killed what could have been a great visit…read moreMy husband and I were excited to try this spot since we love microbrews and had heard good things. We walked in for the first time, grabbed a table in the back near the dart boards (no signs saying the area was off-limits or that service worked differently there), and waited to order. Unfortunately, the bartender completely ignored us. We watched as he walked backward to avoid eye contact, served two or three other customers who came in after us, and never once acknowledged our table or came over. There were no signs explaining any unusual service rules--like needing to order at the pickup window or a specific bar section--so we had no idea what was expected. No greeting, no "be right with you," nothing. After waiting far too long with no help, we just left. It's a shame because the place looked fun and the beer selection seemed solid from what we could see, but the lack of basic hospitality made it a total bust. Suggestion to the owners: Add clear signage about seating/service areas (like many food trucks do successfully), and train staff to greet and check on all patrons, especially newcomers. A simple hello goes a long way toward keeping customers instead of losing them at the door. We won't be back unless things change, but I hope they do--this could be a great local spot.

Arrived on a Sunday at 1 pm and were seated in a corner booth. All wood booth, seating is tight for 7 and would be near impossible for 8. Hard straight up back. Glad i brought coat to sit on although it was a bit cool inside too. Old western style decor inside. A little crowded and noisy but since we were huddled in a tight booth, we had good conversations compared to other places. Seating outside with fair number of people but heaters didn't appear to be on - I would have been cold outside. Mostly picnic table seating outside; sitting next to road although fenced in. Some pups with patrons. Service good overall but fairly slow. Lilly had to go verify the special for the day. My burger came several minutes after other entries arrived - weird. I had the horny toad burger with fries - great fries! Burger had brisket with bacon too - it was fairly good. We also had onion rings as appetizer which were fairly good beer battered style. Others had the Cod and taco's, but the bday girl had liver an onions which she said were very good. Everyone liked the taco's and chips that came with them. The creamed corn was just ok, and coleslaw fairly good. No offer of little dessert for bday girl which was surprising given we told the waitress this and made reservation just for the occasion. Drinks were good overall. Beautiful drive to get there, but doubtful we will be back much. Value was ok for what we got but nothing tremendously special.
