Vegan Option Review | We were so excited to enjoy some pizza after our drive to Branson. We waited about 15 minutes, but there were a ton of open tables. It was clear that staffing was a an issue, but it was later in the evening. We love mellow mushroom so we figured it was worth the wait. Our server was new, so I'll give her that leeway, but overall the service was still was lacking. I call this out because we were just asking for the listed menu options and dressing. We were told they didn't have oil and vinegar, and we were given a dressing that definitely had anchovies or other fish in it. I had to prompt her to check with the kitchen to find out what the vegan options were - we were given the seasonal salad dressing, which still wasn't what I asked for originally, but I gave up at that point. The pizza came out, and it was ok - again, not terrible, but the mushrooms were undercooked. We would go back again for a second try, but would hope that the staff gets some renewed training on their marked items and how to modify for vegan eaters. Just to clarify - we were only pointing to on menu options and there was a general lack of knowledge of what is considered vegan and what the chain offers. We have been to one in Tempe, AZ and in Franklin, TN as well and both times they were aware of the correct way to prepare these options. read more

Most dishes come with a sauce, but any extras will cost ya $1.50. Just a heads up! Homemade Ranch, 7/10! Tasty, yet a bit thin and... slightly citrusy. We LOVED the Mighty Meaty pizza! Delicious homemade crust. Cobb salad - amazing! Could use some hard boiled eggs. Philly Calzone - it was SUPER creamy from all the ricotta cheese. I'd prefer more meat and veggies next time. And while I understand letting people add their own spice level, it was quite bland. Needed those red pepper flakes and spoonfuls of marinara! Kids meals - okay options - could use a burger option. While in Branson, Missouri, we went for dinner to @mellowmushroombranson. Previously, I have been to the location in Pigeon Forge, TN, and loved it. This location is great in the historic downtown of Branson, on the promenade right off the river. And now for the food, this time we ordered the Bruschetta, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Avacado Hoagie, the Holy Shitake Pie, and the Kosmic Karma the food was just perfect, it hit the spot, and the favorite item would be the Kosmic Karma. It was fresh and very flavorful. another item that I enjoyed more then I thought I would was the Avacado Hoagie, the bread was fresh and soft and overall the Hoagie was flavorful. definitely a fan of Mellow Mushroom hope they open a location in Houston read more

This place is a chain with tons of locations in the south east US. We arrived on an outrageously cold night in Branson but inside the MM it was jamming with tunes and brightly colored murals in the walls. We had to wait about 30 min for our table. There were many open tables but looked like they had a shortage of staff. Service was slow overall. We were able to grab a beer from the bar while we waited. Once seated, we ordered the pretzel which is made of pizza dough and cheese pizza for the kids. They devoured that pizza and dipped the crust into the sides of red sauce. We ordered the BBQ Chicken and a pepperoni and banana pepper pizza. Both were delicious. They do charge $2 for sides of ranch which is ridiculous, but I had to have some for my crust. If I could give our experience higher than a 10 I would. First off- we came in with a party of 34 with 15 children (every servers worst nightmare)- but the staff could not have been happier to help us. Our servers name was Troy and WOW WOW WOW- he was absolutely AMAZING. He took care of our entire party solo- and did it flawlessly with a smile. He was organized, fast, kind, and gave very good recommendations on what types of pizza we should order. One of the best servers I have ever had- EVER. Now- to the food.. we got pretty much every pizza they had- but here are the highlights: - shiitake mushroom pizza with sliced ribeye on thin crust- 20000/10- UNREAL. The thin crust was a recommendation from Troy and it was spot on. - great white with chicken added- 8/10- was Very good but it's impossible to top the shiitake ribeye pizza - taco pizza- 8.5/10- really unique but the flavors were SO good together - pepperoni (forgot the name) with ricotta and hot honey- 6/10- if you love ricotta and honey you will likely love it- but I would have preferred a normal pepperoni pizza with normal cheese. We usually love Mellow Mushroom locations, but this one was a really poor experience. We were with a fairly large group, and when the food came out my wife's pizza was made wrong. She's gluten-sensitive and specifically ordered a gluten-free crust. Mistakes happen, but the way it was handled was the problem. Her pizza had to be remade, and by the time it finally came out everyone else at the table had already finished eating and the checks were being brought. On top of that, she ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and even the remake came out without buffalo sauce. After all of that, nothing was done to make it right. No discount, no attempt to fix the situation, nothing. At the very least, comping or discounting her pizza would have been the obvious move. Instead, my wife had to take her pizza to go so she wouldn't miss time with friends we rarely get to see. Really disappointing experience. read more

Second time in a second city, trying Mellow Mushroom, and I have to say I really enjoy it. I first came across this eclectic pizza place in Nashville and knew it was love at first bite (of a slice). The vibes are immaculent, being laid back and funky but also family friendly. And the food is fantastic. I have fallen head over heels for their specialty pie selection and the dough they use for their crust. This time around, my family and I found ourselves shopping around The Landing in Branson and needed a dinner place that was open past 8pm, surprisingly a lot of places on weekdays close rather early. Mellow Mushroom had us covered. It was crowded, but we barely waited to sit down and order an appetizer and a medium-sized pizza to split. My mom and I decided together on a spicy rendition of a Hawaiian pie, and my dad went with the spinach dip as our started. This spinach dip had a strong presence of Asiago cheese in it, which can be a little overwhelming for some, but we all loved it as well as the not so subtle hints of garlic. It was a satisfying and filling starter, great for the whole table. Now, onto the pizza, what everyone is here for. It is what I would consider a traditional style of crust, not being too thin and not being a deep dish or a Detroit style. You could definitely see and taste the semolina flour or so it seemed, and the crust almost looked like a take on a wheat crust, but it was buttery and honey-laden. It was definitely a crust that stood out compared to other ones I had tasted. It had its own uniqueness to it. The toppings were perfectly piled with loads of jalapeños and pineapple and Canadian bacon with copious amounts of ooey gooey cheese. This is a slightly adventurous combination but, it isn't too crazy and definitely taste delicious. In conclusion, I wish I had a Mellow Mushroom back home in Kansas City because I would be a patron. I love the atmosphere, I love the pizza, and I have always loved my server! If you haven't experienced this pizza place yet and you find yourself within a close proximity I would definitely recommend. read more

She did not greet us but asked a gentlemen that came in after us if he was there for a pickup. He was, she assisted him with his order then returned to us. She brought us to a table and gave us menus. Without any other interaction she left. We sat there and waited an additional 20 minutes and no one ever came to our table. We decided to leave. Im very disappointed with the service. We came in excited to try this place we came as 8 people together. We ordered a meatball hoagie and one pizza. We had been waiting for 20 minutes no food. Then another group of people come in as 6 they got their food before despite us being here first and ordering first. My wife ordered the Kosmic Karma, and she likened everything except the gluten free crust to the best pizza we had during our trip to Italy last year. She still loved the crust, but Italian crust will always take the gluten free trophy for its fluffy, nonglutenous character. I got the Sausage fest calzone, also super delicious. Looks like a fun place to have pizza. My wife and girls had their pizza (sausage and black olive) and I ordered a Greek salad to keep with my diet. The wait to get in to be seated wasn't too long. Less than 20 minutes. However, waiting for the meals took awhile. If you are in a hurry this is not the place to get a meal. My kids got a little restless waiting for their meals. Out of town from the Chicagoland area and walked past this place as usual for us to think we wouldn't be able to eat out at a pizza place because of food allergies and restrictions. Walked past again the other way and the outside menu caught my eye that said "vegan and gluten free", and knowing that vegan usually included allergy friendly ingredients, I stopped to check. I went in and was greeted with a smile by Alexia. When I asked her about ingredients, she went in the back and grabbed the books to show me. She didn't think any of my questions were ridiculous and was super helpful. I couldn't believe that we could actually get a table. Our server, Nikki, greeted us. She was happy to take our restrictions serious, was on top of drink refills, and checked on us the right amount of times. She was helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients, and friendly. Overall, this experience was a 10+ and we left very happy. I actually shed tears because this was the very first time me and my family could eat out at a pizza place. We always have to make pizzas at home, so this was the biggest treat ever. My oldest is 18 if that tells you how long it's been for us. The place is a great atmosphere. Fun upbeat pizza place located midway down on the Branson Landing. Had a 15 min wait for a table due to staffing issues. Once seated our waitress was fantastic. She helped us navigate the menu, offered suggestions, and was patient as we made decisions. We ordered an appetizer of Pretzel bites with a tasty beer cheese dip. They were delivered very quickly. Our main dish included a small cheese pizza and a small pizza with half "Mighty Meaty" and half "The Merry Prankster". It was delicious, actually better than I was even expecting. The crust was a great mix of crunch and pillow-y perfection. The only disappointment was that our drinks didn't arrive till midway through our main meal. Trying to chug a frozen strawberry daiquiri (since you can't leave the restaurant with it). They may need additional bar staff to make beverages arrive more timely. read more

We got our pizza to go because we had a balcony suite at the Hilton at the Landing. We (hubby and I) got the House Special and it was really good. Not a big fan of whole tomato slices on pizza and I did end up taking those off, it tasted good with or without them.
