What a wonderful lunch we had here today. We tried to swamp them with a party of 16, but despite all the other tables and our server running the bar and our party, they were on point. Friendly, efficient, and personable. Very happy this is where we decided to have my father's 70th birthday lunch stop. I like a deeper Chicago-style pizza, but I'm not hating on this place at all. Very well seasoned, fresh ingredients, and a tasty crust. If you're in the area, give this place a go. Kind of a dive/hipster type feel while still being clean and inviting. read more

Mr G's Chicago Pizza & Pub - Pizza Near Me - Branson, Missouri

The pizza was tasty but not what I would call a Chicago Deep Dish. The crust was fairly thin and crispy and the toppings were laid on more like a New York style, not the ample toppings like a real deep dish. The person making the pizza obviously has never been to Chicago. If you just want a tasty pizza, this is worth a try but if you know a real deep dish pizza you may be disappointed. read more

Our group ordered a variety of approximately 20 pizzas. Service was quick and they had a wide range of pizzas to please any palate. I can't remark on the location because we had delivery service. read more

This is good pizza for sure! I'd always recommend more of all the toppings at a place like this but as I have gone through ranking all the pizza spots in Branson, this is within the top three for sure! We also were unable to add extra topping when we ordered on DoorDash. We called up Mr. G's and they added extra for free! Great service - we will be back! -your local enterprise read more

Everything here is 5 stars! The ambiance feels like a small-town pizza joint with something to catch your eye on every wall. They've got booths (my go-to), bar seating, and tables for groups. The Chicago deep dish is rare to find in Missouri, but the thin crust stole the show--top 2 easily, loaded with cheese and hamburger chunks (ask for side of sauce if you like it saucy). And the cannelloni? It rivals our KC favorite, which says a lot! Our server was fantastic, proving the Midwest-friendly reputation true. This is officially our new Branson favorite--and you're missing out if you don't try it. read more

I was really excited to try Mr. G's Pizza in Branson since they advertise Chicago-style deep dish. I spent four years in Chicago for undergrad and married a Chicago native, so I've made plenty of trips back and developed a real love for authentic deep dish pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza didn't live up to the deep dish label. While it tasted fine, it lacked the depth and substantial structure that define true Chicago-style deep dish. In fact, we also picked up a Papa John's pizza for our kids the same night, and that pizza was actually thicker than the "deep dish" from Mr. G's (I've included a photo for comparison). I ordered carryout, so I can't really comment on dine-in service, but the staff I interacted with were friendly and pickup was smooth. If you're just looking for pizza in Branson, this may work for you. But if you're specifically hoping for authentic Chicago-style deep dish, you may leave disappointed. read more

Pizza is subjective. With that in mind this place is extremely popular and very busy considering it doesn't have a premier location and is at the bottom of a very steep hill. It definitely has its fans. Unfortunately, we're not among them. We tried both the deep dish Chicago style pizza and the thin crust. Neither crust tasted much better than cardboard. The sauce was bitter and wasn't much more than tomato paste. The cheese was not gooey and just sat there without strings of melted goodness staying attached as you removed a slice from the pie. The deep dish Chicago style wasn't all that deep. The toppings were generous with large slices of pepperoni. Everyone else in the place seems to love their pizza, so it appears it was just us. If your in Branson, I'd still say this is a must try if you've never been and make your own decision. read more

One of our family favorites when we come to town. The pulled pork pizza, Chicago style, and add jalapeños! Hard to beat!

I called in an order for pickup and the service was excellent! The guy was funny and friendly and very helpful. The vibe inside makes me wanna grab a pint and hangout awhile. The Chicago style pizza and wings were incredible. We got a large, half Mr Gs favorite and half veggie lover with 10 pc 1/2 parm garlic wings and 1/2 bbq. Everything is stellar and will definitely be going back! read more

We come to Branson twice a year and always make Mr g's pizza a stop. The thin crust is the best around.

Great pizza and beer!! The deep dish pizza is really good... it is what they are known for. Mr. G's Crab Roll appetizer was something I've never had before... but so glad I tried it... cream cheese and leeks with a hint of crab in a crispy wonton. As for pizza... the famous Mr G is a delicious combination!! Service was super friendly and makes you feel welcome. read more

We came to Branson last weekend and on a recommendation from Satirah loves Branson on FB. We absolutely loved it. We ordered the fried raviolis for an appetizer that came out crispy and hot with a great dipping sauce. We ordered the large meat lovers Chicago style pizza didn't leave a single piece. It was wonderful. My dad and I had a couple of beers that came out with nice frosted frozen mugs which never hurts. Our waitress was super nice. It was just a great experience. Out of everything that we ate in Branson that weekend, Mr. G's was everyone's favorite. read more

Best Chicago pizza outside of Chicago. We drive 2.5 hours from Winslow, Arkansas just to have lunch there. Service is great & personable. Pizza is not thrown/made until you order it, so it may take a little longer...worth the wait! read more

We were looking for an Italian spot after one of the shows so it was getting later in the evening. We found Mr. G's and decided that pizza sounded pretty good. We are from the Chicago area and are picky about pizza and decided to try the thin crust. Our plucky server chastised us for wanting thin crust when the pan pizza was their specialty. So we went with her recommendation and did not regret it! The crust was crispy and light, not heavy or hard. My husband also ordered crab rolls per her recommendation. She knew her stuff! She was as good as the food - personable and efficient! She recommended Steamy Joes for breakfast which was also great! Mr. G's was a cute little local gem. Just what you would picture for an Italian bar. read more

Great crust, great sauce and great tasting sausage! Service was quick. We went at 4pm and beat the crowd. Highly recommend!

Best Pizza ever! Truly, my husband and I have been to some great pizza restaurants, including some great ones in Italy, but Mr. G's beats them all. Our family favorites at Mr. G's are the Mr. G's Special and the Spinach and artichoke special, both with thick crust. Mr. G's is at the top of our list in recommendations of best pizza in SW Missouri! Just writing this has made me want one in Branson. MO and it's 10:.45am! read more

We came to Branson to meet family and decided to try this place because we both love pizza and we were starving. Short story, the pizza was easily in the bottom three of the worst I've ever had. We got the "Chicago" crust, which was seriously, rock hard and tasteless. We got veggie pizza, which had almost zero cheese and just an odd flavored sauce. We were happy to learn that it was the best in Branson, so we knew not to try anywhere else The ambiance was crowded, with screaming children, and the wait staff of two people were awesome, but killing themselves trying to keep up. We tipped the waiter well, but we won't be back. I'm not typically a complainer, so if the food had been even mediocre, I wouldn't have bothered leaving a review. read more

This place is highly recommended, the food was very tasty and service was great. The good: - Prices ranged from $10.50 (subs) and $23.99 for large pizzas. - Steve our server, had great recommendations, and was extremely nice and attentive. - They have a full bar including margaritas, martinis, cocktails and wine. - They make their own Italian dressing, it was delicious. - The atmosphere was very old italian vibes from the decor and the seating. They have booth and tables. I think about 20, maybe?, and they have a bar seating as well. - They is public parking near by. The not so good: - Our food took a bit longer, but the place was packed, so that may have been the reason. - The bathrooms are only two individual ones (man and woman), so you may need to wait for a bit. read more

Moved to Branson from Chicago 10yrs ago this is the only pizza and beef the reminds me of home sorry didn't take any pics we smashed it

Hubby and I went here today in Branson and had an appetizer and small pizza. We've had the original Mr. G's in Chicago so we were excited to see one here. Not sure if they're connected but the menu items were similar. We ordered toasted raviolis for an appetizer. It had 5 beef and 5 cheese and was served with a thick and warm marinara. They were not skimpy with the filling...nice and stuffed. We ordered a thin small pizza with sausage and pepperoni. As you can tell by the photos, they PILE on the cheese. The outside of the crust was very crispy, just the way we like it. But the middle of the crust was soggy and not quite cooked crispy enough to our liking. That's the only thing that kept them from getting 5 stars. Something in the sauce or perhaps the sausage was a tad spicy...not sure if it was red pepper flakes but it gave you a nice little heat on the back end. Would definitely return. read more

Before I start, I will say the pizza tastes good. I got the BBQ pork but I subbed the chicken on it instead. Service was very quick which is nice. However, this pizza I received was not a deep dish Chicago style like advertised. It's a thin crust pizza made in a deep dish pan. Floppy on the bottom, thin and crispy up the sides. As a thin crust pizza I would rate it very high, but advertising Chicago style and delivering what I received should be a crime! Ambiance was loud, which is expected of a pub. read more

When in Branson this is the place to go for pizza! This last time we also tried the toasted ravs, they were fantastic! Food is top tier!

It's been 3 years...still a great little place with amazing pizza! I believe what makes the taste of this is the crust which is perfect. Our table agreed, the crust is amazing. Service was good and not too busy. We had the meat lovers pizza and a few cheese mini pizzas for the kids. Always a great place to eat while in Branson! read more

After reading reviews we decided to try Mr. G's. Parking is up the hill or down the hill but not very convenient either way. It sort of feels like you're in Boston or San Francisco walking into a door off the street on a steep hill. This is not a place for wheelchairs or those with walking challenges. A nice warm greeting from a waitress welcomed us. The place is much bigger than it looks from outside. Looks clean. The bathroom was very clean-NICE! They have a bar on one end and the rest is tables, booths, and combos. Some are high tops others standard height. The pizza was good with a nice amount of cheese. I wasn't a big fan of the flavor of the sauce but would eat it again. Prices are reasonable. Service was great! We got the impression this might be more a locals place than a tourist attraction but it appeared to be a mix while we were there. It wasn't noisy for lunch but it might be when it's packed with people. When in Branson, give it a try. read more

Is it good pizza? Sure. I'd rate it a 6.2 out of 10 for general quality. It had good flavor. Is it good Chicago style pizza though? No. On that basis I'd give it a 4.3 out of 10. It didn't have nearly enough sauce or cheese to be called "Chicago style" pizza. Look up Enzo's Pizza In Chicago if you wanna know what a good Chicago style pizza looks like. Overall I liked it well enough but I wouldn't recommend it as a good place for Chicago style pizza. read more

Delicious Chicago-Style Pizza - Worth the Visit! We ordered takeout from Mr. G's in Branson and were really impressed. The pizza was absolutely delicious--classic Chicago-style, but they also offer thin crust if that's more your thing. Our order was ready right on time, and the pizza was still fresh and hot when we picked it up. The place was busy (always a good sign!), but everything ran smoothly. We also tried a couple of appetizers--the Bosco sticks and the toasted ravioli--and both were really tasty. Their salads are fresh and a great addition to round out the meal. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back! read more

Great deep dish pizza. Server was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere, and is in a great part of town.

Best pizza in town! Service is fast and friendly Thin crust is my favorite but Chicago style has lots of very good sauce and fillings
