Came in expecting something a bit more upscale based on the Yelp listing, but it didn't quite match the reality. Online, the dishes look elevated and thoughtfully presented. In person, it's a much more basic, casual setup across the board. Nothing wrong with that it's just not what i expected. Food-wise, it's basic. The Caesar salad is small for an entrée portion, with chopped romaine, what tastes like a standard Sysco-style dressing, and croutons. The fish and chips came out hot but were noticeably over-salted. That said, there are alpositives. The kitchen is fast, and the staff are friendly and personable, which helps the experience. Where this place really shines is the beer. There are 100+ taps, and they're generous with samples so you can find something you like. That said, the selection leans heavily toward beers, with limited options for lighter or alternative pours like cider. At the end of the day, this is a drink-first, food-second kind of spot. Made it back in recently. A visit many years ago had food so "meh" that my husband called it "that tator tot place" after. Not a compliment. This time I got their smoked & fried turkey sandwich with a side of brussels and both were really good. Probably the best brussel sprouts at any local joint - I think the vinaigrette and little sweet peppers tame the natural funk enough to make them crave-able. Great flavors in the sandwich too. Of course, I had a flight or beer, so half the sandwich and a few sprouts went back home. Hubby polished it off with compliments, so no longer the "tator tot" place. Been in twice more since. Service at the bar has been excellent 2x and ok the third. The beer selection is great, even including some AR beers outside of NWA that I had not heard of. Beertenders are knowledgeable about the pours. Only notable downside is the price points. I know everything is high, but $11 for an 8 oz pour of a higher ABV beer is out of whack. I don't expect airport prices at a local joint. Happy Hour is 20% off, bringing our 2 pours to "only" $17.60. I don't know how you would know the price of any beer before ordering, so buyer beware. read more

I found Uptown on Yelp and was super stoked to try it. This seemed to be a cool place when we first walked in. The restaurant wasn't too loud with a comfortable vibe, an impressive tap list and a decent menu. The server was friendly but not very visible. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived with only the booths taken and one other table. Sadly, it took OVER an hour to get our food and when we did, the Mac n cheese was cold. Like, super duper cold. By that time, several large tables were seated AND served...Since our server was nowhere to be seen we couldn't send it back - and after sitting over an hour while stopping by on a long road trip, my husband ate it anyway. The Brewban was a good Reuben. The kraut was tasty and the portion enough to share. My son got the Philly Cheesesteak and tots and he ate it all. The timing of the food (we were over an hour late getting to our destination), inattentive server, and the skillet mac contributed to the rating. I'd love to give them another try if we lived in the area, but wouldn't risk it while on the road. Josh, my bartender suggested that I try the "flight" of beer! I got to pick five beers so, I picked ones I'd never had before. I ended up adding a cider to my flight. I got totally hooked on the Black Apple, Hibiscus!! - I will for sure go checkout the brewery!! - I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the Mushroom Impossible Burger w/ fries. It was freaking great! I met a friend that i hadn't seen in 20 years at this place and had a couple beers. The atmosphere was pretty good, and I enjoyed the beers. The only bad thing was that some employee was in a side room or something. I never saw him once until we paid our tabs. He was eavesdropping on our entire conversation and chewed us out for using too many f bombs while we communicated as old friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time. I don't think anyone else heard us. I think our opinion about politics really made this guy angry. It really creeped me out, and I'll never return. We stopped in for a late lunch. Super friendly service. We got their fried pickles to start and they are some of the best we have ever had. The breading is light and crispy. I had their chicken sandwich and my husband had their BLT. We both enjoyed our meals. I am not much of a beer drinker and our waitress suggested trying a cider. Stumbled into uptown while I was looking for dinner after driving all day to get to Rogers for 2 Cybersecurity conferences this weekend. I gotta say it was a great decision. First of all, they have 109 taps, i wasnt expecting that when i came in but man was it a nice surprise. Only place I've been with a better selection is El Bait Shop in des moines, and while I love them, as an autistic, EBS gets a bit loud and overstimulating, uptown is about the same size, but not as loud and wild. Ive mentioned in other reviews that I have a service dog, and this place definitely passed the service dog test. Not only were they very happy to welcome her in with me, but a couple of the waitresses actually came over and asked if they could give her a treat, and she got a dog biscuit AND bacon . That's how you make a service animal feel welcomed. The food was also stellar and their beertenders are super knowledgeable. Overall this place is a win, and I'm very sad it's 5 and a half hours from my house. read more

After we ordered and got our food, we were asked if we needed anything else. We asked for ketchup and mustard and ranch. They came back with only ketchup. We asked again for mustard and that server went back in the kitchen and came out to sweep some more without the mustard. When we were 1/3 done with food, finally the other came out with mustard. I had a very nice meal on a Sunday evening here at Uptown Kitchen. Loved the vibe and bar area. The bartender was friendly and fast in getting me a drink. Since there are so many taps, don't be surprised if one pops and you have to wait for replacement. Have a little patience. Ask for recommendations too if your stuck. I had a great hazy IPA from a Houston based brewery. Wanted to stay local and in state but didn't see anything that tickled my fancy. With 100 taps you'll be sure to find the right drink for you. I was stoked how well my beer paired with the fish, chips and slaw. This is a great bar. I ended up leaving my backpack behind and didn't realize it until I was well away from the restaurant.
