Shopping at Meletio Lighting was like a Breath of Fresh Air after being stagnated in a Sea of Confusion... We installed an island hood vent in the middle of my kitchen and the two existing (incredibly-lovely, but large) pendant lights no longer went with the sleek new look of the brushed stainless hood vent. I knew I wanted something more special than just a Big Box lighting solution, and was willing to pay what it took to find just the right look. So I spent hours (and hours!) on the internet, trying to find something I liked that would go with the hood vent AND the rest of my decor. I even got my husband to look... a lot of internet time spent, but nothing jumped out. On a whim, I took photos of my kitchen situation and trotted over to Meletio to see what they could suggest. The receptionist was lovely and immediately asked me what I needed. Overwhelmed by the unique fixtures in the showroom, I decided to browse a bit, to see if I could find something on my own. Wow. What fun lighting! And at all price points... something for everyone, if you will. Anyway, I settled on some creative canned lighting and waited at the back desk for help. In fairness, all the guys there were busy... so I decided to toddle back over to the decorative lighting and ask for help. I asked the receptionist for a lighting consultant who might have some suggestions for my kitchen. She introduced me to Jessica Almany. Boy, was I lucky!! Jessica listened carefully as I described what I was looking for, showed her the canned lighting I thought might work, and went over the pictures of my kitchen and adjoining room on my phone. Then Jessica went to work... This is the reason why I am taking the time to write this review: Out of the (literally) thousands of possible lighting solutions/fixtures, Jessica nailed it on the very first one she pulled up on her computer. And best yet, it wasn't one I would have thought of... but looking at her suggestion, I thought "of course! That's perfect!!" What are the chances of that happening? Even better yet, it was much, much less $$ than what I thought I would have to spend. The two pendant lights Jessica suggested have been ordered, picked up, and installed. They honestly look better than I could have either envisioned or hoped for. Jessica, my dear, you have a true gift... had I known, you could have saved me hours and hours from a multi-day but fruitless internet search. Oh, and Jessica was very helpful and creative on a number of other lighting and electrical issues I need solved around the house (like what kind of additional electrical outlets would work in the kitchen). Apparently, Jessica works with a number of the home builders around town, so she is very up on new trends and technology. (Hint: if you want to do something electrical in your existing home that you never thought was possible, stop by to see what's new... there are so many recent technical innovations that solve age-old electrical problems.) You better believe I'll be back to Meletio Lighting again (and again and again). read more

Building a new home. Went in to purchase all the lighting needed. Was there 15 minutes minimum walking taking pictures and looking. Not one person asked if I needed help or seemed to even care that I was there. I would understand if they were busy, but they were not. Customer service level is zero. read more

This place, its products and most importantly its staff rock!!! I found Meletio just by accident but so glad i did. My movers unknowingly left the support to a custom light fixture in my old place and i went into Meletio looking for the particular part i needed. They explained they don't typically sell parts but went in the back to see if there was something laying around. AND THEY HAD THE EXACT PIECE I WAS LOOKING FOR! Poor customer service. I purchased three landscape bullet lights a few years back from Meletio. Over time. the detachable lenses/insect guards on the lights got really cloudy. When I called about ordering replacement parts, Meletio staff indicated they couldn't help me other than ordering entirely new fixtures for $400+. I then emailed the manufacturer's sales rep (at Tech Light) and he dropped off replacements at my door the next day for free. Meletio--I am not impressed! I have been buying lighting from Meletio for years now but yesterday I went in with a lamp problem. I went in with a 25 year old lamp that I had received as a wedding gift. Let's just say, very old dated wiring. Juan and Izzy literally took it on as a project to help me get it functioning again. They were so nice and friendly. They were total amazing. I purchased 2 ceiling fans that were on closeout in their original boxes. The boxes had a picture of a steel fan on the outside. When I opened the boxes, they were black. I tried to return them but was told I couldn't return them or even trade them for a different fan. There was a stack of these fans still on the retail showroom. All they had to do was absorb them back onto the stack of other fans. Instead, they decided the $200 they made off me was worth losing a customer. I realize the concept of closeout, however for $200 they could have realized that the boxes were not labeled well (hence a different color product on the package) and kept a customer coming back for future purchases by accepting the return. I hope the profit off this transaction was the difference between the owner being able to make their Porsche payment and Not. If you see 2 fans for sale on Craigslist, all I want is my money back. read more

I have been working with Meletio for years now. I have found that they offer a wonderful quality product from the casual to the formal. My clients enjoy their trips to Meletio's showroom, where they make ME look good! They are handled with care and given tasteful suggestions. They will come to your home if you need them to. They have an amazing commercial business, and work with builders as well. Meletio has evolved over the years to ensure they are current with market trends, and therefore you know you are receiving product that they will be able to service in the years to come. This company has been around for decades and decades. There's a reason for that....their clients and potential clients are #1, whether you are buying one chandelier or 20. Meletio has variety of lighting choices in spades. They do get busy- have been there weekdays and weekends and customer count has seemed nearly the same. So be prepared for a brief wait- but with all the choices you are surrounded with you will need it to absorb it all. Went here looking for help with a lighting problem. I was sent over by my designer, who told me to not have high hopes. Said they were Over Priced and Not Willing to help - But they may be the only place to order. Boy was he right. The man "helping me" didn't give a crap if i was there or not. He kept helping others as they came in. The larger the ticket item - the faster he'd jump on it. After about 30 min of this, i left. Just so you know Meletio, my problem was with a ordering a special fixture. Trying to get around 150 special order fixtures which ended up being around $85k from someone else. Took Longer, but worth not working with Meletio. Bet Roger would have Jumped on that if he'd taken the time. read more

We went to Meletio based on their warehouse clearance ad in the Dallas paper. WOW! I've not seen so many different styles, manufacturers. You won't confuse them with the big box stores. Their quality and unique designs sure stand out. We specifically were only looking for 2 lights for our huge walk in closet. The warehouse sale selection, quality, and prices were so good we ended up buying 6. Two were larger versions of a light they had in their sale, but were not on sale because they had to order them for us. Sales and warehouse staff were great. Even though some of the lights were quite inexpensive, they still packed them very carefully in bubble wrap and boxes. If you want a unique light or fan that really stands stands out from all of the ones you get at HD or L*, I highly recommend you visit Meletio. Only challenge is location and hours. We just made it a Saturday trip and had dinner at one of our favorite Dallas restaurants. read more

The parts counter is ridiculously slow, not to mention the have a TV behind the counter that they constantly watch rather than serving the customers. They are rude and unprofessional and I would prefer never having to deal with them again and that's saying something as I'm a builder! read more

I went to Melitio on a Friday afternoon in late May 2020 during covid. I received incredible service from Bridget and JoAnne, both of whom probably just wanted to wrap up their business day and go home to start Memorial Day weekend. Instead, they sat with me, paging through light fixture catalogs as if each was my personal designer. These women have decades of experience and helped me choose a perfect fixture for my kitchen. This was not my first experience with Melitio. I have purchased other fixtures and ceiling fans from them in the past. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have access to anything you need. They were particularly patient with me when I tried several sets of LED bulbs in my new fixture until I was happy. Prices are fair for high quality merchandise and extraordinary selection. read more

Needed hard-to-find bulbs (lamps) for lighted musicians stands. Two local DIY stores had clear but not frosted. Local hardware store had two frosted but we needed five. Another commercial electric store could only special order. Meletio had 22 in stock and 1/2 the price of the local hardware store. They also have a beautiful showroom of lighting fixtures and friendly, helpful staff. read more

I've really, really tried to like this place but have never had such poor, poor service. We made an appt. with Gloria to discuss lighting needs; when we arrived she had no idea she had an appt. with us and was not prepared at all. The owner had referred us to her since she'd been there a long time & we needed someone who knew what they were doing. When we said we were looking at undercab lighting, she said she really knew nothing about it and would have to talk to "one of the guys", who didn't happen to be there. She took all our diagrams, etc. that we'd brought and said the owner would get back to us the following business day with his product advice for our project. We heard nothing for literally 3 weeks, then got an email with a $2,000 lighting plan for our tiny kitchen. By then, we were done with the project. Thanks, but no thanks, Meletio. read more

This place is horrible!!! Prices are overpriced and snarky service didn't help. They made up rules as they went along. It's rare that I'm treated this badly. We went a Groupon...they added additional rules to the Groupon and refused to accept it on the mobile...even though the Groupon said the mobile option was acceptable. Won't catch me in there again. They are the absolute worst at customer service. I placed an order and fully paid for it with Tabitha over two months ago and have yet to receive all my fixtures. Tabitha always has one person or another to blame for the delay in shipping and always promises to get back to me on an update regarding the shipment. Tabitha is a liar. She never answers her phone, never returns emails (only once has she replied back to my countless attempts of contacting her and that was when she was put on the spot for not delivering). She always claims to work on giving an update on my order but never once has called or sent an email with an update. I have to take valuable time out of my schedule to pay her a visit. Paying her a visit is also always unsuccessful as she has no clear answer. She easily blames one person or another but instead of blaming how about accepting fault and delivering said merchandise on a timely basis. Waiting over two months for fixtures is ludicrous. Please only visit this establishment if you want your project to get delayed further and further. read more

Just got off the phone with Meletio Lighting and for the SECOND time today I was given horrible customer service! The first person I spoke with this morning acted as if I was putting him out and then just transferred me to a voicemail. After waiting 5 hrs with no call back I called back and was told that the girl whose name is on my invoice is the ONLY person that can help me! Pamela Rabin, inside sales, referred us to their lighting specialist, Sherry Lambert, who became our strategic partner, first by phone, then by email (she wanted to see our floor plan), then in-person, actually coming to see the project. We were so relieved to find a pro that knows her stuff! It brought these DIY'ers so much assurance to tap into her vast knowledge and experience. I was in the store for at least twenty minutes, there were two employees in the showroom and nobody greeted me so I just left. I have worked in different retail high end places and I was always taught to greet the customer with- in one minute. And all you have to do is wave and smile or smile and say "Hi.". Well, I have a rather large new house that needs some lighting so I guess I will find another place that wants to serve me. read more

Came in to Meletio with my mom over the holidays and was looking for the perfect light fixture to hang above my bistro table. I'd been in to at least 10 different lighting stores all over Texas before walking in to Meletio and was ready to give up because I hadn't had much luck anywhere else. But I am so glad I tried this one last store before I hung up the towel. The showroom was really beautiful and the service was fantastic. I was treated as if I was ordering 100 items vs. just the 1 I needed for my space. The sales associate took the time to show me dozens of catalogs, and walked with me around the showroom until I found the perfect contemporary chandelier. Fit my budget and looks absolutely fabulous in my place. Living in a small apartment now, but I know I will be back to Meletio when I own a bigger place - there are so many options to choose from and I am happy to continue giving them my business over the years after such a great experience! read more

Told him what I was needing he typed it in to his computer not saying a word on that he was placing the order then 5 minutes later he hands me a sheet tells me to go to the front and pay. I found Meletio to be a great store! The lights that I saw displayed were of much higher quality than the Home Depot or Lowes lights, and they were quick to point that out and explain the differences. They had lights of all price points and styles. I was thrilled that I was able to select lighting for my house that was completely different from anything that I've seen at my friend's homes. They even gave me a discount below the marked prices allowing me to buy a couple of extra lights! The showroom was huge, and they even had the dimmers and timers that I was wanting. I'll be back when I do my other rooms. read more

I think Meletio is great. I used to go to the old Preston Forest location years ago and then started going to the Harry Hines showroom when PF closed. Sales people are friendly and knowledgable. Tabitha has been great. She explains the difference between higher and lower quality items and helps me choose high quality when it makes a difference and I care about it, and helps me choose less expensive items when I am more concerned about cost and function, such as in a child's bath. The guys at the back counter sell different things than the front sales people. Maybe some customers are confused about that and gave a bad review. I have dealt with the guys at the back counter, too, and I thought they were very helpful if you ask them for help. They helped me patiently. Yes, they sit on high stools behind a counter, but they will come down and hep you if you need them to. Many contractors are coming in there who know what they want, so maybe the guys don't know if you need their help unless you ask them for it. Service has been great for me. read more
