That cinnamon roll was incredible and that was one of the best cold brews I have ever had. Everyone was super nice. Ambiance!

THE MOST DELICIOUS BAKERY EVER. I mean everything is so so good. No matter what you get you can not go wrong. That vegetarian sandwich was so delicious! Service is so so nice and the ambiance is super chill. I can not recommend going out of your way to come to this bakery.

Absolutely stellar breads, pastries, and sandwiches. There are only a few sandwiches on the menu on any given day; only one was vegetarian when I visited but it was outstanding. Easily top 10 sandwich. At $17 each they are not cheap, but they're substantial and easy to split if you're not ravenous. The beverage menu includes all standard espresso drinks, plus some creative seasonal options. There's also highly curated selection of dry goods, a few cheeses, eggs, and small homewares/gifts.

After we overslept for our original brunch plans, a quick Yelp search redirected us to Mel. Do not trust the GoogleMaps directions! They led us to this back alley entrance when we could have easily entered from Warren Street. This place had a long line when we arrived and no indoor seating but it's right next to a little park with picnic tables and some additional seating in the park. In addition to providing coffee and pastries, it seems they have a little market space here too with lots of local goodies. It was cute! I ended up getting the pistachio croissant (which iirc was twice baked!) and my husband got the corn cookie with blueberry jam. It was the perfect brekky to tide us over until our lunch rezzies and fuel our morning walk around Hudson. The line did take quite a while to get through (maybe 20 minutes?) so definitely plan accordingly. This isn't a quick in and out on the weekends!

This place was INCREDIBLE!!! My friends wanted to try this bakery back when they were in NYC but they sadly closed before they could. We all finally got a chance to try it in Hudson and loved it! The four of us ordered 9 pastries to share. I also ordered a chai latte for myself which was so good. Among the pastries, my two favorite savory ones were the garlic knots and shishito, sweet corn and cheddar pastry. My favorite sweet pastry was the raspberries and sweet corn cream. They packed our pastries expertly in a big box for us, and we found a picnic table outside to enjoy them at. We actually loved the pastries so much that we came back the next day for more!

Really awesome spot that has bread that is out of this world, stellar pastries especially when focused on unique pastries like the goat cheese squash Danish, and a great grocery selection. Love their coffee as well, though I wish they did weekend breakfast sandwiches!

Never made it to the one on the LES but came here in Hudson, braved the line, and it was well worth it -- the cookie, chocolate croissant, pumpkin danish, and smoked salmon sandwich were all incredible.

Insanely good spot. I'm not sure if I was more impressed with the pastries I got or the bread, let alone the breakfast sandwich. Everything was worth trying and the group I'd purchased the items for couldn't get over the quality. The cinnamon roll is a must!

this is the best bakery i've been to in the most recent years, you must make it a priority stop if you're headed upstate. the food: all sandwiches were TOP tier, i went twice and both times the chicken curry one was sold out. but my favoriteeee was the jambon beurre with pickles, so good! my other MUST ORDER will have to be the chocolate almond croissant, i have never had a pastry filled to the BRIM with the most delicious dark chocolate and almond filling. second favorite is a tie between the cinnamon roll (super unique) and the jalapeno one!!! the drinks: classic coffees that were pretty good! liked my americano. the space: it's small with a few seats by the bar the service: quick and kind

I've been here a handful of times and have thoroughly enjoyed every bite of what I've ordered from them. The squash and goat cheese special I had today was phenomenal. Pastries always look almost too pretty to eat, but taste even better. It's a cute spot and always smells amazing in there. Employees are always friendly and helpful.

Bread, honey, wine. Thank you Nora Allen for the excellent country loaf. Thank you Eva for the honey. And thank you McCalls Vineyard for the wine. All local New York State products. I took a quick trip to Hudson for the bread. Mels is a bit hard to find. It's squished in between the main drag of Hudson and a back alley. There was a short fast moving line when I dropped by. The staff was spot on. The storefront was spacious and simple. In for the bread. Out to the car. Home for the bread, honey, and wine. Perfect Sunday.

Mel was bustling even at 9:02 am on a cold winter morning, with a line forming inside. This bakery is charming, stocked with unique local products and artisanal granola, jams, and chocolates. I came here for the pastries and the one that stood out was the "cinnamon roll croissant thing". If you're a fan of both cinnamon roll and croissants, this must be on your list. The pistachio almond croissant was beautiful and tasted exceptional. Highly recommend!

I didn't realize how good this would be from the unassuming outside. But wow--you can tell they take their time with ingredients and flavor. My blueberry muffin was not only perfectly sweet yet not, it was so pleasing to the eye. The blueberry danish was bursting with fresh berries that kind of snuck up on you. The pastry case was such a joy to behold and I wanted to try it all.

They did not have a long selection but whatever we tried was great. We had their French omelette which was delicious: kale pesto and poached eggs with a side of salad. The pesto was so good. My other friends had the spicey chicken sandwich, and then theres the French toast!!! People, get ready, this think is a legit brick of bread filled with custard fat-assery. Big enough for 2 people to order, I mean seriously! If this wasn't heaven! The place is spotless, warm, wine was great (chewing blanc for me) I cannot wait to try what else they've got going on here. Incredibly bummed, especially seeing all the positive press around the quality and the sourcing…read morethey claim to approach business with, that quite a lot of the food being served was from SYSCO or another large similar restaurant supply vendor, ordered by the case and baked from frozen. Now first off, don't get me wrong, buying in bulk or sacrificing the quality of some ingredients to large suppliers like this is definitely a reality when running a restaurant. Even moreso in this day and age when ingredient prices are exorbitant. That said, it needs to be reflected in the price point. Pastries are arranged beautifully under cloches in the display case, but I could spot the premade, ready-to-bake spinach feta bistro (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/QZ119984/) or ham and cheese croissant (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/99971/) from a mile away. The avocado spread on the preassembled breakfast sandwiches is definitely the pulp from the 3lb bag from Chef's Warehouse too. I know that taste! All of that said, they had a few items in the case that I'm sure weren't from one of these big vendors. Which was great to see. My (yes, unsolicited!) advice would be to pare down the menu. Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. They're dog friendly inside. No WiFi to encourage people to chat with one another. Fine. I really want to see this place continue to thrive, it's just a bit of a bummer that a significant part of the menu including things that really should be fresh, aren't.

Talbott & Arding was chosen as our first stop on our girls' getaway journey. Tucked in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from the Berkshires, it was a sweetly energetic beginning to our day. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced. I filled my arms with goods- iberico salami, Aleppo chili oil, Blackstrap coffee beans, local chocolates, and an adorable Talbott & Arding puzzle.
