Ramen Noodle Soup with Grilled Chicken. Lacked flavor and looked like an unappetizing bowl of mud. Not enjoyable at all.

You have to applaud new business owners for sticking their necks out and risking it all by starting a new restaurant. Mein House in Timnath CO seems like a great concept, in a good location, but our first visit just didn't hit the mark. The place is clean and comfortable, with easy "at-counter" ordering delivered to table. Fast and friendly, all good. But, the food just doesn't measure up, yet. I had the Lo Mein Noodles w/Shrimp. Looked beautiful, but the sauce was way too sweet, more like teriyaki than basic soy sauce. The shrimp were delicious and the noodles were great, but that sweet sauce was just overpowering and totally unnecessary for a staple Chinese dish that should be pretty simple. My wife had the Ramen Noodle Soup with Grilled Chicken. Again, a pretty basic expectation on any Chinese menu, but it looked awful and lacked any genuine flavor. We had the Potstickers for an appetizer. Taste was good, cooked & served to perfection, but I don't think they were homemade, rather very similar to what we've had from the Costco freezer. Certainly not bad, but lacking the homemade touch you'd expect from most Chinese restaurants. Bottom line: I truly want Mein House to succeed, but they really need to get back to Chinese menu basics -- keep it simple, don't try to mess with traditional flavors that don't need to be "adjusted" to the point they're unrecognizable or unpleasant to eat.

The food and service were good, slightly overpriced for the style of restaurant. More so a takeout restaurant than sit down.

The bar almost resembles something you might find in a small European hotel, which may suggest they are aiming for a slightly upscale tone, though it never feels pretentious. The seating is varied, with small tables and retro chairs that seem intentionally chosen rather than bought in bulk. The spacing is better than most coffee shops, which makes it easy to settle in without feeling crowded. The back area opens up even more, and the soft drapery adds a touch of personality that appears to hint at events or just a bit of flair. The staff continues to be the standout for me. Everyone I spoke with was kind in a way that felt natural, and they knew the menu well enough to help me navigate dairy free options. I usually order the avocado toast on focaccia because it is consistently fresh. The bread looks oversized at first but is airy and soft, and the avocado and radish topping feels simple in the best way. The matcha made with water has also become a go to since it tastes smooth and well-bodied without that chalky, thin finish some places have. My partner and I visited during their Dia de Los Muertos weekend and tried a few themed items. Everything was good, and they were quick to suggest dairy free choices. Prices seem fair, even with the general bump everywhere lately. The only thing I wish they had more of is outlets. It is still a nice place to work for a couple of hours, but coming with a charged laptop helps. The overall vibe is calm with just enough energy to keep the space from feeling sleepy. It works well for coffee dates, casual catch ups, or solo work, especially for anyone who prefers a relaxed atmosphere without too much chaos.

They are working hard to revamp the original concept and make delicious food from scratch. The double burger with side of tots or fries ($16) or +$3 to upgrade the side to the best hand-battered onion rings is a great value. Make sure to ask for Burger Sauce instead of the usual ketchup and mustard. This is a craveable burger. I love the decor and vibe of this place, with some cool but eclectic memorabilia and license plates from all the states. The dining room is a good size with big and small group seating options. Service is friendly and attentive. It is a sit-yourself situation. The tables and seats are clean (not sticky) and the bathrooms are also nicely clean and well-kept. This place has a lot going for it. I learned that they are having a grand reopening on Sunday June 14, 2026 with an all day happy hour and debuting some new made-from-scratch menu items! We also came in a Wednesday because there was a sign that advertised kids eat free. Apparently under the new management, that is no longer their policy. We weren't told that until we got the bill and felt very disappointed and mislead. We talked to the server about it, and they did absolutely nothing to help or fix it. Between that and the wait time, we will not be going back.

The first thing is that the place was about 2/3 full and they seem pretty well staffed in the front of the house. There were 2-3 bartenders behind the bar at all times. After we ordered (2 cups of lobster bisque and bread), our server apologized and told us there was a large party in their private room and the chef was having a hard time keeping up. I can't imagine they normally only have one person preparing all of the food on a normal Saturday evening! It took no less than 45 minutes from when we ordered to get our food. Some olives or something would have been nice. My mom also had to wait 15 mins for her 2nd glass of wine. I'll tell you, we weren't going to order anything else after that! There was some really nice classical guitar music by a live musician. I tipped him on our way out. After we left, we noticed a $5 entertainment charge! Is this a norm in Colorado? I would think we would be informed upon entering if there's a cover fee or an additional charge. I would have been happy to pay it, but we should have been informed.
