I was craving hot and sour soup for weeks and was so excited when I saw Asian Pearl had it available! However, it was the most disappointing version of this soup I have ever eaten. It was literally beef broth, corn starch, a handful of small cubes of tofu and egg. There were NO veggies, meat, etc. It was terribly bland and tasted more like a beef broth based egg drop soup than hot and sour. In addition my husband ordered the Schezwan beef which had no spice and the meat had a strange, "baby food" like texture. We did have the pork dumplings which turned out relatively well. This was the difference between a 1 and 2 star rating. Sadly we will not be ordering from here again. read more

This might sound a bit snobby but coming from Los Angeles 4.5 years ago and also being a decent chef myself, there have been few restaurants north of Denver that have impressed me, especially in the Chinese and Mexican food realm. In my opinion, this place redeems Northern Colorado for Chinese food and is so much better than all of the Chinese restaurants in Fort Collins!! I knew when I saw "fish in black bean sauce" on the menu that this place was legit. We went out to eat after getting some not great family news and had no desire to cook. The service was superb- friendly, genuine, and perfectly timed. The food was the best Chinese we've had in the last 4.5yrs in Colorado! We ordered the Slippery Shrimp (crunchy to the last bite, even though drenched in tasty sauce), and Kung Pao chicken- flavors on point! Jasmine tea was lovely, and the steamed rice was soft and fluffy. Egg drop soup was decent and the chicken wonton soup was very refreshing and comforting. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. The food comes out very quickly. Our entire food were very delicious. Our favorite food to eat is the Kung Pao Chicken. My mom, dad, and I have been here a few times. Each time has been the same, if not then very similar. The food is always amazing and comes out surprisingly quick. The staff is sweet and polite, although may not always understand fast or quiet talkers. The restaurant is almost never full, which means its often quiet and calming. Was looking for gluten free Chinese food in the Fort Collins area, which is difficult to find for some odd reason. I found this place not too far away in Windsor. I can only speak for their food because I got it to-go the 2 times I came here. I found it a little difficult to describe my opinion here, but was able to better after the second time, and after reading other reviews of experiences here. The first time I called and ordered a gluten free Kung pao chicken with a side of white rice. The female said that would be no problem and seemed really nice. When I arrived I went inside and met the female owner. My food was ready when I got there in 15 minutes. She was really nice and gave me a decent sized container of Kung pao chicken and a side of white rice. The chicken was gluten free; breaded with corn meal and flash fried. The Kung pao chicken consisted of not only the chicken, but also roasted chili peppers, scallions, and peanuts. See my attached picture. The taste was decent though a slightly different than I imagined, the price was somewhat decent, and it was both gluten and lactose free. The order came with a fold up cardboard container filled with a decent sized amount of white rice. The order cost me around $11 dollars and change. The second time here I called in an order of General Tso's chicken. See the attached picture. It came in a plastic container with a side of rice like the first one did. The sauce tasted somewhat like I imagined General Tso's chicken would taste. The order cost me around $12 dollars and change this time. After eating this second meal here, I changed my opinion about this place. Let me explain why: If I were to make any recommendations, I'd say to make sure the gluten free chicken is cooked slightly longer so that it is a little crispy. Also, there was way too many chili peppers in both of my meals. There were over 10 in my food the first time and less than 10 the second time. I would find a better way to make these meals spicy. I think that there should be other ingredients added to the Kung pao chicken to make it taste better, such as green/red peppers, carrots, little corns, and bamboo shoots. The General Tso's chicken disappointed me the second time when I bit into it and it looked spongey inside. Would you agree that the chicken could be better quality if it looks like a sponge inside? I found that it was spongey in most places and crispy in a few other places. The rice looked to be short-grain rice and seemed to be way too small and fluffy. This food also made me feel way too full before I got through it for some reason. I usually could eat the entire container without problem, but not with this food for some reason. Other than my 2 times getting chicken and rice orders to-go, I don't know what this place is like to dine in, and how the service is, but in my opinion I think that the gluten free Chinese food to-go is somewhat below average. I have tried other gluten free Chinese food in the area around the immediate area and can't still can't find any that stand out to me. I feel that you should know these things before coming here. I gave them 3 stars, which means it's "mediocre" at best. If this restaurant decided to change their ingredients and cooking methods in order to improve the quality of the meal I'd be open to trying it, but after my second time here I don't see myself craving food here. I suggest that the owner should sit down and look over some gluten free chicken Chinese food recipes, watch some similar recipe videos, experiment to find what works and tastes best, while using real quality pieces of chicken that aren't or don't become spongey. read more

We had birthday luncheon for my wife's dad, /separate room can hold 65 people easily. Buffet style lunch including the restaurants favorites. Great and friendly staff and owner. Water feature turned off during winter. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Stop by for plate or a full course... All the food was served hot, delicious and very satisfying. The Asian Pearl Bistro is a nicer Chinese restaurant. Still casual but you would feel comfortable there in a suit as well. So far I've gotten the orange chicken, general tsos chicken, cashew chicken, chicken with broccoli. And they were all good. The takeout cost more than dine in but the portions are double. I would've given 5 stars but I'm one of the few white Americans who actually mean it when I say " extra hot and spicy ". There is barely any heat in my generals chicken. Honestly, this is THE BEST Chinese restaurant in all of Northern Colorado! The atmosphere is elegant, modern, clean and quiet. The service is super-friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. But most importantly, the food is FANTASTIC! We have not had Singapore rice noodles for a long, long time, and the dish served here was probably the best we have ever tasted. The sesame chicken was so delicious that we both had to soak up every last drop of the sauce. This is definitely worth the short drive from Fort Collins, and we WILL be back again. read more
