Very disappointing. Stale no spice sichuan noodles and my partners lunch special.
    Jessie Elizabeth J.

I feel like the good reviews lied to me :( sichuan noodles had 0 spice let alone any tongue numbing sichuan pepper spice! They tasted like they used old peppercorns that had zero flavor except an overpowering staleness - I know because I've bought old sichuan peppercorns on accident before from a store that clearly didn't move stock fast. I love sichuan food and this was just plain noodles with stale ingredients to boot. The lunch platter was granted only $10 but the portion was still crazy small. Flavourless sichuan-less mapo tofu and some dry chicken. The tea egg was fine. Nice people but these were not sichuan noodles, stale and bland and really disappointing.

First time here. I got the tea egg. It tasted like a regular boiled egg, the flavors were subtle. Main dish was the tendon noodle. Tendon was soft and melted in my mouth. The noodles were fresh and the broth was seasoned perfectly and I didn't have to add anything to the soup. Portions are large, good for the price. This is a personal preference, but I would have like my soup a little bit warmer. Service was good, the place is a bit small and can get busy.

I rate restaurants based on three factors: the food, the ambiance, and the service. While the small restaurant has a charming mom-and-pop vibe, the food and service struggled to deliver a positive experience. We ordered a noodle dish and a shrimp dish to share. The noodle dish was accompanied by a very small amount of vegetables and herbs. It was instead dowsed heavily in a viscous peanut sauce. The shrimp was barely warm (in fact the steamed broccoli it came with was cold) and did not have any flavor. Some minced garlic and onion was added directly on top as garnish to this dish. The tables were bare and didn't have chili oil, soy sauce, salt or pepper for guests. I requested a green tea that was served in a tea bag form. Disappointing overall.

The thing I remember most about this place is their floor, lol. Classy tiles, probably took over from the last business. The dumplings are must get, even bette than the noodles IMO. Scallion pancakes are "fluffier" than what I'm used to but I liked this version, it was a pleasant surprise! However they try to convince you, do NOT get the sweet milk pastry, yes it's homemade but no, it isn't good. Veggies were ok and the pig ears? Something nice to have!

This place is a hidden gem of Fort Collins. The food is quick and easy, the service is great, always respectful and extremely fast. The ambiance is perfect whether you're there for a longer meal or a short lunch Beijing noodle is the place to be. Yes it's oily, yes it's delicious, and yes it's fun to eat

Kung Pao Chicken, I've had much better.

I guess I'm going to be an outlier in this review, but our lunch today was not very good at all. We had the Kung Pao lunch special and honestly, it wasn't good at all. The chicken was cut up in the very small cubes along with some cubed veggies, it just didn't look like a traditional Kung Pao chicken plate, in used to seeing chunks of chicken and chunks of vegetables. The sauce taste left kind of a bad taste in my mouth an hour or so after the lunch, nothing a good teeth brushing couldn't take care of. We asked for water but when it came there were flakes in the water. We didn't intend to drink any but I accidently took a drink and realized it was squeezed lemon. Don't restaurants usually ask if you want lemon in your water?

We ordered it to try something new, but didn't care for the pineapple pieces in the soup. Service is always great regardless of whether you're getting food to go or dining in. From the moment we walked in - I'm recovering from recent shoulder surgery and dressing isn't easy so I didn't look my best - I discreetly asked the hostess if it was ok for me to come in looking kinda grungy and she sweetly told me I looked cute. Then a very friendly young man led us to our table. The place was packed, there were a lot of families with children as well as older folks like my hubby and me. Our waiter was also very friendly. Hubby and I usually each order soup, then we order 2 appetizers and one entree to split when we go to Asian restaurants. We ordered the same here. The egg drop soup was heartier than we expected, it had corn and little bit of chicken in it. It was delicious. Our appetizers, spring rolls and wrapped shrimp, were delicious and they were served on beds of noodles with sliced carrots and cucumbers around the edges of the plates. We had to ask our waiter for carry out containers before our entree even arrived. Our entree, pork with bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, and oyster sauce was delicious....just like everything else was. And since we ordered too much we had enough left over for dinner the following night. Hubby and I usually go for Thai or Japanese when we're in the mood for Asian cuisine and we have our favorite spots in FoCo for those (I prefer Thai, he prefers Japanese). We now have our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The food was great and the service was very friendly!

Drinks were on point, and the little details in the atmosphere (lighting, ambiance, layout) made it feel special. For food, we kept it simple but tasty: fries and their edamame bowl with cocktails. Both hit the mark -- the fries were crisp and fun, and the edamame bowl was a smart choice for a lighter, shareable app. We didn't get sushi this visit (so I can't weigh in on that), but for what we had the experience was solid. The patio upstairs is a standout: great for a friend date or casual hang, especially if you're looking for something more upbeat. Service for us was attentive and friendly, which added to the good vibes. If I were to suggest one improvement: I'd like to try more of the main menu next time (especially sushi or a full entree) to get a full sense of what they offer. But for now, I'd absolutely recommend this place for drinks + apps with friends in Fort Collins. We'll be back.
