What we ordered: Egg Drop Soup - The person who ordered it wasn't feeling well, and they said it really hit the spot. Simple, warm, and comforting. Hot & Sour Soup - Heavy on the mushrooms (a little too heavy), and surprisingly light on the "sour." Egg Rolls - We got two for the price of one compared to most places, so that's a bonus! We skipped the sweet and sour sauce though -- it was a little questionable-looking! Thai Chicken - Nothing to brag about. Pretty standard. Honey Chicken - Also nothing special. Honestly, it looked like something you'd serve to a child -- very sweet and basic. Service was brief and to the point. No frills, but efficient. The place has that classic dive feel, but it doesn't quite deliver the incredible food you sometimes hope comes with a hidden gem. Still, for the price and quick bite convenience, it works! Three years of residency in Loveland and during which I drive by bamboo express almost every day. Today was the first time we tried and I have to report for the idea of a scoop Chinese place and experiences I've had in the past at other places make me skeptical BUT This place was SO good. I had their lo mein, orange chicken, and coconut shrimp. The orange chicken was on point might I report and hit my craving. The service was very friendly and eager to show me all their cute charms too. I struggle with making up my mind when it comes to food but the gentleman was very patient with me. That's much appreciated that I did not feel rushed at all. My wife also got their lo mein, mushroom and chicken, and their pepper chicken You also have to try the sweet friend dough! The inside of this place does have some areas to sit but the vibe of very nice for grab and go home to watch anime. They also have some cute trinkets you can buy. Guilty, I got a bunny key chain for my car charms. The price is very desirable too. For two full plates we spent under $20.00. Happy to report that we will be coming back again! When I clicked on this to write a review and I saw the food, I wanted to throw up even more. I got food from this place and immediately while eating I started feeling cramping in my stomach. I thought it would go away but I ended up having to go to the hospital because I got a stomach bug. If i could rate negative I would. we've gotten food from here twice. the food is ok, but twice we've ordered chow mein. The first time, it was just vegetable. we thought it was because it was late so we let it go. Today, we ordered again, beef chow mein. I specifically googled what it was what because my husband wanted the fried noodles and what did he get? Not chow mein. It's chop suey. Chow mein is not chop suey. Never again will we patronize this restaurant. 12 bucks for chopped cabbage. If you're expecting noodles with the chow mein, prepare to be deeply disappointed. They have better food than their competitors (I can't mention any names. but they rhyme with Schmanda), and they charge you less money. I know this is an unpopular opinion nowadays, but I happen to like money. So the more of it I have, the happier I am. Also, anytime we go here their food is fresh and hot. Except that one time we went in the middle of the night. They weren't open, so we snuck in through a roof vent. Are you kidding me?? I ordered the Mu Shoo chicken and it came with zero Mu Shoo sauce and flour tortillas! YES... store bought flour tortillas. The fried rice was dry and crunchy. The Mu Shoo chicken was too salty and lacked any hint of actual Mu Shoo flavor. The 'fried dumplings' were filled with some sketchy sort of mystery meat. Absolutely terrible food! It's a $1.50/scoop... I'm thinking this place probably isn't going to be great... and it wasn't. But, what should one expect for $1.50 per scoop? Lots of breading on orange chicken-- 90 percent breading 10 percent cheap thigh meat. The pot stickers were good-- but they were offered at like $4+ (they were definitely not on the regular menu and were freshly steamed and pan fried-- and why I gave this place the 2nd star). Mongolian beef, lots of fat. Fried rice was ok. Egg rolls, ewwwww. Lots of post-cheap fried food phlegm. So so so good!! We ordered the general tao's chicken, coconut shrimp, some of the honey chicken and sweet and sour, the Chinese donuts, egg fried rice, egg drop soup, spring rolls, cheese wontons, and Chinese donuts (wow that was a lot to type) and every single thing was fantastic. Oh, and lo mein! I could not believe they had it all ready in 10 minutes. I did have trouble finding their menu online, but their pictures looked great and they're super close to me, so I just went it to get one. The woman on the phone and in person was so sweet, too!! Their menu prices are a little different now since they're making some changes but even the new pricing is completely reasonable and she at least gave me a heads up about it before I ordered, so it was no problem. I would recommend the general tao's chicken and coconut shrimp, as those two were the best. The cheese wontons are also kind of small, which makes sense since you get 4 of them for less than $2, and I regret not getting 2 orders because those were really yummy. I have eaten at a number of 1.50 or 1.75 or 2.00 a scoop places over the years and it can be hit or miss, the idea is it is cheap food service type food meaning it is almost already prepared food like you would find in your freezer section at the grocery store. I have been here a few times and if you get the dishes fresh it is good but depending on how long the food site it becomes a you get what you paid for thing. The low prices give it a star and freshness a star as well cause they usually do pretty well and service factors in that I give it 4 stars. There is no way I could give this place just 1 or 2 stars that is not fair in this genre of restaurants. For the people that give this place 1 star, don't feel like you are entitled to a 12 dollar meal when you only spend 5 dollars. read more

This place is amazing. The food never disappoints. The teriyaki chicken skewers are so tender and succulent. The peppered chicken and the hibachi chicken are both amazingly flavorful. And it's so affordable! My boyfriend and I can each get rice with two entrees, plus we always get an extra entree, teriyaki chicken skewers, egg rolls, soup, and two drinks - the total is less than $25. read more

Bamboo Express is far from the best Chinese food that I've eaten. In fact, it's pretty damn low on the list. I am rating it 5 stars, however: Pros: -INSANE value. It was less than $6 for the same amount of food that costs $8+ at Panda Express or (insert Chinese place here). -The food was about what you'd expect- pretty average American Chinese food. -Fast service- you can be in and out within 1 minute (if no line). Cons: -Food isn't cooked to order, so I would assume this place would suck if you go during an 'off' dining time (not near lunch or dinner, so 4 p.m.). -Greasy (though, not really a knock. Most all Chinese food is). If you have Chinese American food cravings and do not want to go to Panda Express, Bamboo Express is a very good option for you. I will definitely be returning. read more

The food here is fresh, inexpensive, and fast. Never real busy with take out and sit down. The quality of food in this price range ($1.50/scoop, by the scoop) is good. It is an authentic family owned business. I eat here frequently for the quality and value and to support locally family owed businesses. Oh... My... Gosh... Bamboo Express is my new favorite Asian quick serve restaurant anywhere. The huge chain Panda Express makes you hope and pray that they don't short change you on serving sizes-- NOT HERE!! :) they give huge portion sizes! And here's the kicker- each scoop (which is really like a double or triple scoop) is only $1.50!!! The people who work here are so nice and make you feel relaxed, which rarely ever happens at restaurants. My wife and I both ate a full meal, including a 2 drinks and huge hot & sour soup, for $10.13 total!! Are you kidding me! And their chicken is awesome for leftovers! I was at the restaurant around 4pm. The broccoli beef was fresh and tender. The hibachi chicken was tasty. Good portion for scoops.

I love the food and I have no problem however the food could be warmer. I love the food especially the shrimp lo-main. Love it and the variety of food.
