The pork fried rice was disappointing. We order pork, yet the pieces served were huge, with red at the ends--probably Chinese BBQ, which I found unappealing. Even after cutting them into smaller pieces, I didn't enjoy it. The drunken noodles were undercooked and lacked proper texture--they weren't even al dente. They were too hard to eat and likely unhealthy, so I had to throw them away. CB read more

OK. it's Johnstown, CO WORST dinner to date. Absolutely nothing good to say. Ordered beef and broccoli. Was microwaved. More carrots than beef or broccoli. Intermittent hot and cold throughout the main dish. Fried rice served cold. Server said she'll be right back after she microwaves it. Rice was colder than Will not come back here again. EPIC FAIL. read more

Don't ever order the chicken fried rice, it's not even right, weird flavor, completely empty when we went. Service is just nosey and not enough time to look at the menu. read more

Ordered delivery and all the food was awful. I tossed it all in the trash. Chow mien was basically spaghetti noodles with some sauce. Sesame chicken made me literally think it was cat. Even the wontons were gross. It was so bad I wouldn't even give them a second chance. read more

Huang Garden - Sesame chicken - Chinese Near Me - Johnstown, Colorado

We went to Huangs for dinner tonight for the first time. It was excellent! The food was great! I had steamed chicken and broccoli, my family had crab cheese wontons, beef with broccoli, cashew shrimp and a pork and vegetables. We were all very pleased. The service was great and the restaurant is immaculate! read more

there's a reason this place is usually empty. They bought a billboard on 1st street claiming they have the best sesame chicken. I went the next night to pick some up and it was awful. They are sharp chunks of batter with or without chicken inside. The pieces that did seem to have chicken in them had skin or some random bit of garbage slices. Top of the picture at 11 O'clock you can see the piece that I ripped open and only found skin. I gave up trying to find chicken and just threw it all away. read more

Tucked away in the strip mall that is located near the Hays Market in Johnstown is this gem of a find of Chinese restaurant. Huang Garden restaurant came highly recommended by our daughter. So, we decided to give it a try. And we weren't disappointed. The dishes we've tried there so far have been fantastic and delicious! They definitely don't skimp on the meat by throwing-in a bunch of vegetables to mask things. The portion sizes were quite generous. Everything we've had there so far have been fresh and oh so tasty! We liked it so much that we've now been there several times. I highly recommend their sesame chicken, sesame beef, orange chicken, orange beef and Mongolian beef. I am sure everything in their menu is great but above are the dishes we tried so far. The above dishes, except for the Mongolian beef, were fried in very lightly coated batter and fried to absolute perfection! So there wasn't a thick layer of dough masking a thin sliver of meat (some restaurants use this trick to stretch their meat). The Mongolian beef was cooked just right to juicy perfection; seasoned to absolute perfection with just the right amount of sauce, onions and black pepper. Even the red dipping sauce they serve you with fried wonton strips before your meal comes was delicious. Instead of your sugary red-dye sauce, this had a pleasant yet slight hint of fresh ginger. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant! read more

Jan 17, our Shady Ladies Red Hat group of nearly 20 took over a large side of the restaurant all ordering different items off the menu. Everything was excellent, everyone was happy, and if it was hard for the staff and cooks, you'd never have known it. high recommendations read more

Man, I was really bummed with this food. The portions are the only reason I can give this 2 stars. But the taste was so bland and the chicken was chewy. Honestly I was so disappointed. read more

The food was regular Chinese food, it definitely wasn't anything super great, not bad either. The staff was kind to us and friendly. Just a decent Chinese restaurant that's mostly quiet and good place to sit down and eat. The food was decently priced for what it was. read more

Very disappointing experience as I ordered online, choose the time for the food to be ready, and I still waited 15 minutes once I arrived. My meal was very bland, my husbands was not correct, and they are charging a convenience fee of a couple bucks on top of me leaving a 15% tip. Lesson learned on this one! read more

We ordered chicken Pad Thai, Mongolian beef and Singapore noodles and the Chicken pad Thai was very soupy. The noodles for the Singapore were sour. The meat did not taste good either. read more

My wife and I were walking around old town Johnstown today. For lunch, we decided to go check out Huang Garden Chinese restaurant for lunch. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress. The ambiance of the restaurant was ok. Not very impressive. But I was very impressed with their menu choices. They also have Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese food items. Also, they have some Gluten Free food items. I decided to order the lunch special Sweet and sour pork. It came with soup, egg roll and fried wonton. Ot only cost $12.00. Pretty good price. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork. I will definitely recommend it. My wife has Gluten allergy so she ordered the Gluten Free Chicken Pad Thai. We noticed that the pad thai was VERY saucy/soupy. See picture. We didn't really enjoy the pad thai too much. It was way too saucy/soupy. We won't order the pad thai dish again. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and attentive. If we visit old town Johnstown again, we will definitely go back to this restaurant and check out their other food items. read more

Food was not good and this was the second time we tried. Maybe it was bc it was late but the rice was cold and the chicken overcooked.

Food is always fresh. Quantity is also worth the money and service has always been good and staff is friendly.

Husband and I didn't like the taste of the food. Also, too pricey for the cheap quality. read more

Delicious food!! Their curry chicken and chicken lettuce wrap were sooo good! Will definitely come back here again

I'm a regular customer for dine-in at Huang Garden and find the food consistently flavorful and the portion sizes generous. Compared to other Chinese restaurants in the Johnstown/Windsor area, it's the best I've found (and I've tried several). read more

This is a COVID-era review. The restaurant had limited tables available for seating, all employees wore masks and gloves, condiments are in single serving packs, and they tried to increase the intake of fresh air into the restaurant. The food was delicious! We had Drunken Noodles (combination) and Orange Chicken (lunch). The portions were very large so we ended up bringing quite a lot of food home. The only minor grumble that I have is that the don't offer chopsticks at the table. I probably could have asked for some, but I didn't. read more

Was looking for some Chinese takeout while visiting Medical Center of the Rockies. I didn't realize that this place was over 20 minutes away. But it was worth the drive. We split the Orange Chicken (the litmus test for Chinese takeout) and it was hot, fresh, and tasty. Enough left over for a small snack later. The fried rice was okay and the pot stickers were awesome. I was tempted to give this 5 stars, but they need to up their game on the fried rice. read more

The food was okay. I had the combo bowl. The spring roll was a grease roll. I took a bit and grease filled my mouth and that's all I could taste. The rice noodles were great with the beef. Not sure if we'll return. Not great but not awful. Service was good. Ambiance was okay. read more

The food was unacceptable. Shrimp was rubbery and bland, the soup was inedible and the overall experience was so bad I would rather not have paid, but I did because I feel bad for every small business trying to stay afloat during these challenging times. read more

Finally some decent asian takeout with good dumplings! Not very affordable but food is pretty good.

Good was great and service was equally as great. It took a little bit of time to give us our food but everything was amazing!

I ordered Hot and sour soup and Szechuan beef. The soup was ok, not very hot or sour. I'd give it 3 stars. The Szechuan beef was just beef and vegetables in a mild watery gravy. No spice whatsoever! I give that 1/2 star. Come on guys. You can do better than this!! read more

We have ordered food here for many years and the quality has always been good! Food has always arrived piping hot and in large quantities! We always have enough for leftovers! Ordered 4 dishes which came to $70. The sesame chicken was fried to a crisp. Sweet and sour pork was soggy. Beef lo mein was just a bowl of noodles with a single piece of beef. Chicken fried rice was simply rice and chicken. Extremely overpriced and subpar at best. read more
