Meijer has a more welcoming atmosphere than other similar stores. Even the customers are more pleasant. Prices, in general, are lower too.

The staff was rude and unkind I will never understand people being mad at their job like they didn't pick it. This was my first and last time at this Meijer. Sorry to have bothered you all, especially the lady at the service desk. If you hate your job so much, find a new one. read more

This is the nicest Meijer I've ever been to. The women's clothing section is huge with tons of choices. The store is clean and well stocked, and there is a lot of variety on the grocery side too. Our family was able to find everything we were looking for and more. We greatly appreciate having this store nearby! read more

My furnace broke and I came here for heated blankets (sort of an emergency situation to keep warm) After searching the store multiple times I finally went up to the cashier and asked if somebody could help me and he said that nobody was working the floor. Then I asked him if he could show me and he said no because he was at the cashier. after searching the entire store for almost an hour, desperately trying to find heated blankets, I finally gave up and asked one more time if somebody could please help me and was again turned down for assistance. Whoever the manager at the store is needs to be fired or get their priorities in order. I've been coming here for years, but the one time I asked for help in an emergency situation I was rejected . I'm a bit baffled by the level of vitriol for this Meijer. It's a friggin Meijer! It's not the newest but the recent remodel has it looking pretty decent. The Meijer on 12 Mile and Mound is definitely nicer, but this is not a bad place to shop either. This was the first Meijer I was ever in. My mom brought me and my sister here a couple of times, back before Meijers were all over southeast Michigan, even though it was a fairly long haul from the house I grew up in, over near 12 Mile and I-94. I was like "Wow! This place is like a grocery store AND a K-Mart, only nicer than a K-Mart!" Well, that childlike wonder has long since dissipated, but I'm still keenly aware it's really something we have these giant big box stores in this land of milk and honey and gluttony. Most of the third world would have their jaws on the floor at the sight of this retail behemoth. I most often come to this Meijer after a certain late night gathering over in this neck of the woods, so I'm spoiled with spacious, empty aisles, short lines and a lack of this apparent bad customer service I see people on here bitching about. Yeah, there's a major restocking project here and there, but that's to be expected in a 24-7 store, and I always successfully navigate it. No employee has ever given me attitude about needing a product right where they have their pallet/cart of stuff set up. They move it aside and let me grab what I need. Today I was actually here when that giant flaming orb was still in the sky, after going to a barbeque out in Shelby Township, and my shopping experience was still basically painless. Perhaps I have this particular location's apparent unpopularity to thank for it as it wasn't too busy at 7:30 pm. I just started using reusable shopping bags and every damn time I put a new one in the bagging area of the self-checkout, the register admonished me with that "unexpected item in the bagging area". When the lady stationed in the middle of 4 self-checkouts had to come give approval for the second time I apologized, saying somehow I only thought that might happen the first time. She told me to just put all the shopping bags I thought I might need there then, so the machine wouldn't summon her back over. The thing is, she just said it in a way like she was just trying to be helpful. It would have been really easy to come at me with a really weary, attitude laden tone where there was a silent "dummy" at the end of the sentence, but she didn't. And it's highly doubtful I'll make that same rookie mistake next time. I also forgot where I parked when leaving, as I'm so used to coming here in nocturnal hours when only one set of entrances/exits are open and leaving out of the other side kind of threw me for a loop for a few seconds. There's nothing extra special about this Meijer but I don't think there's anything extra terrible about it either. I do prefer it during vampire hours though. read more

This was a decent Meijer with very nice employees. Stopped in here on the way back from a Yelp event tonight since it was on the way home (heads up: Van Dyke is doing some construction, though) and made more sense than going to my usual RO/Troy Meijer. The layout is similar to Walled Lake's except the frozen foods are in the back. I will say I wanted to buy some Meijer chicken to cook with and couldn't find it at all, but everything else was easy to find. I'd come back here when in the area. read more

Like all Meijer stores, it is an agoraphobic's nightmare - bright, spacious and busy. Other than that it is pretty average among its peers. It has a pretty good selection of frozen organics, including their own line. Fresh organics vary by season (flipping from slightly better to slightly worse than Kroger). The rest of the departments (grocery, pharmacy, clothing, sporting goods, automotive, etc.) are on par with shopper expectations. Meijer's biggest advantage is that it is open 24 hours. This particular store doesn't quite sparkle in the way that the newer ones (Mound Road in Warren, for example) do but it's OK, especially if you live in the area. read more

This store is a disgrace. Shelves are stocked poorly, lines at the registers often stretch 5 to 10 people deep. Customer service department is where joy goes to die. Compared to other Meijers in the area, this one is a disaster. They found a dead body behind this store, I am going to guess it was someone waiting to check out. The store manager should be fired. I will never go here again. During the day I will go to Kroger, and late at night I will drive 7 miles out of my way to Walmart to avoid this abhorrent retail establishment. The most friendly employee I have seen at this location works at the gas station in the parking lot. And by friendly, I mean they didn't throw feces at me. read more

I don't think I would have given a star if I didn't have to. After getting a call my prescription was ready I drive out of my way to go pick it up. Only to be told it's not ready. She tells me it will be ready in a week.... so she says she can transfer my rx to a different meijer so I said, "yea please just do that." Well low and behold I drive to the other meijer when I get a text that it's ready two days later. Turns out The incompetent employee filled my prescription at her Meijer rather than transferring it as she stated she would. so now I have made two trips and I'm going on my third to pick up one prescription that should've been ready a week ago. The pharmacy techs are clearly amateurs and not trained well on insurance cards. The first girl who helped me said I needed a prescription card because this is considered a prescription. I have never had a prescription card with my insurance but I do know policies change all the time. However, this was not the case, she was just wrong. The second girl who helped me, Jigisha, told me my card expired 12/2013 so they had to charge me $24.99 but said if *I* brought the correct card they could possibly issue me a refund. The problem is I DID bring the correct card but Jigisha couldn't figure it out. When I got home and saw the issue date NOT expiration date was DEC 2013 meaning I had my current card with me. Now I have a wasted trip back to Meijer because they can't figure out the difference between Michigan Blue Cross and out of state Blue Cross which has always had better coverage than the Michigan one. (I've been using it for 12 years so I would know.) After I called to let them know they'd made a mistake Jigisha acted like it wasn't a big deal to waste my time and just bring it back in. I had to fight a fucking snow storm to get this flu shot before they ran out and now I have to go back to get a refund for something I wasn't supposed to be charged for in the first place. That's just the technical part of my experience. Let's move onto the shot itself. The pharmacist is heavy handed, there's no getting around it. It was like having a caveman administer a shot. She gave it to me like she was throwing a dart. I've had many intramuscular shots in my life but none as painful as this. Needles are sharp enough to pierce skin, there's no need to throw it like a fucking javelin. My recommendation. Go to a different pharmacy where the amateurs aren't running the show. read more

My husband loves the pharmacy department here better than anywhere. As with all the Meijer stores, the signs in the aisles lead you right to the item your looking for with very little searching. This is a favorite for Sterling Heights residents and it pays to check the sales papers... always good to get the specials when you can. read more

I have no idea how a grocery store can have such bad reviews. I have made several visits here and have no complaints. It is a grocery store. You do your grocery shopping & you leave. I am not going to lie. Sometimes the stockers clog up the lanes with huge carts, but hey they are just doing their jobs. If you were a stocker, how happy would you really be? Meijer's switched it's crub side pick up to Shipt employees. They offer pick up times starting at 9 a.m. thru 10 p.m. (one order per hour, which is a pain in itself to get a slot). I took the 2nd slot of the day, 10 a.m. Every hour or two I received a text telling me what time they "CAN" deliver. I've received 18 texts in the last two days bumping my order. If these were Meijer employees shopping for their customers (like Kroger does), the customers wouldn't get set aside. But since it's Shipt's business shopping for Meijer's customers, they do not care if the Meijer customers are skipped. I'm not sure why Meijer's continues to add new time slots for pick up. Shipt gives a phone number with the text. I was on hold for 1 hour and 25 minutes before I got a person. Nothing she could tell me. When you call Meijer for help, they tell you to call Shipt. This is a horrible Meijer. I shop at Meijer every week and I've tried this one on my way from home and am extremely disappointed. It is very dirty and poorly managed. There is trash all the parking lot. The produce and the meat section are trashed and unorganized. It is hard to find anything there if they are even stocked. I've been coming to this Meijer for a long time now and it's always a mediocre experience but it is never terrible. I decided to buy a television from there and my whole mood was completely obliterated. The cashier at the electronic center was, to say the least, extremely rude. He kept on giving dirty looks and apparently he can't even count because I basically had to count the money for him. Went here tonight to get deli meat to find the Deli Counter closed at 8:40 when it is supposed to be open till 9pm. Most Meijers are horrible with the Deli, it takes forever and you have to wait for a bunch of others since they are slow. My solution was to come here later when most people aren't out, but now they are going to close early on me. read more

Is it my go to 24 hour all in one store. they have pretty much everything you need not as cheap as Walmart or Kmart but worth going to. I like to support local businesses and Meijer is one of the businesses that is originated in Michigan. I never had a problem with rude employees I think the shelves are always stocked properly and have more variety of items to choose from when it comes to buying natural produce along with all natural remedies and tea. And you gotta love the original penny pony that you get to ride on the way out and it's still as always one penny. How to spell think it's neat that you can get a Slurpee on the way out but always remember that they closed one of the entrances after midnight I believe. However!!! I do not recommend doing the self checkout because there's never usually anybody maning it. and if you're like me the alarm will go off 100 times why you try to figure out why the item keeps telling you you didn't scan it and put it in the bag!!! drives me insane... read more
