I love Value Fresh for its cheap candy, as well as a lot of other things there that you can get quite inexpensively. However, I have gotten moldy bread there, badly cut meats, uncooked chicken from the deli so I tend to limit my shopping to non-perishable goods there today I stopped in because I was hungry and I'm doing errands and just needed some thing in my stomach before I could go home and cook a meal so I got a Chobani strawberry yogurt looked at the expiration date. It was good and I got some Bear Naked granola. Well, the granola did indeed expire in January, and as I opened the five dollar bag of granola, the rancid odor hit me in the face. I tend to mix my granola yogurt together, and thought maybe the yogurt will mask the odor. Stirred in the granola, and indeed the rancidity was masked. However, the yogurt tasted like a filthy refrigerator. So now I have one more item that I will never purchase at that store again I know it serves a purpose to provide inexpensive choices in this crazy grocery inflation era we live in, but the store needs to do better. WATCH your receipt before leaving. Saw the Ad which looked pretty good on sale items. I didn't live near the store but thought we would ride by & go inside. I found you really have to be careful because they'll not only state what's on sale on their psper ad but put shelf tickets with prices as well. they had Stove Top Stuffing on sale for .99 cents assorted varieties. so I bought 3 boxes of varieties all boxes on shelf said .99 cents. Well 2 rang up correctly & 1 rang up for $2.69. I went to service desk explained that it rang up wrong. The man kept looking at the AD & said not the Herb Sturging. I told him the shelf had the ticket on them all. well he didn't really care. so I told him take back the box & give me a refund. Instead of giving back the $2.69 in cash. he made me give him my credit card to put refund on. never gave me a receipt for the refund so now I have to wait for it to post on credit card. He should have gave me the stuffing for .99 cent & the difference back that they owed. that would be good customer service, some people just don't care. I made sure to say I'm never come back to shop there. read more

today, my wife and daughter was at the grocery store shop in like normal. They go there once or twice a week but today out of somewhere they have a new security guard and he kept looking at my daughter in a perverted way, staring at her like she was stealing something, maybe that was the opportunity for him to look at her like that she was stealing I am very unsatisfied. Me and my boyfriend have been going there for nine years. The food has always been good. Nothing was ever spoiled. Everybody has been nice. The line moves pretty quick. This place has the worst customer service on this side of town. They do not own their mistakes...last week we got fish from there it was no good..they said is was nothing they could do...not even store credit..then yesterday they left the cheese out of our bag...and when we inquired about it...they said they looked on the camera and saw the cheese going in our bag...we didn't get the cheese...and we don't have it...This is very petty...They also have a very rude supervisor there name Tracy...who acts as if she's the owner...and won't bend or let you talk to a manager...She could Never be an owner tho..because she doesn't have the compassion or mentality of an owner...in a crisis situation...owners wouldn't loose good paying loyal customers, who spend hundreds of dollars a month at their store over a $3 pack of cheese...so yeah...Value Fresh owners keep letting Tracy run your store...Kroger is right down the street with excellent service ,more stock, and better prices...also Shopper's on 9& Vandyke is a better choice...In these stressful times we need workers who have a heart for the ppl...a lot of people are laid off and want to work...the dedicated workers should be celebrated ...the rude and disrespectful like Tracy...should go home and quarantine and collect unemployment read more

Fresh foods a little pricy but their meats are fresh and good. It's clean and the cashiers are friendly.

We were curious about this store since we received biweekly adds. We went in one day and were amazed at the deals. Everyone was so nice and the manager went out of his way to welcome us. We go there 2-3 times a month and always get treated well. The sale items are always a great deal and we usually stock up on them. The meat department has marinated meets which my family loves. This store is a bit further for us, but well worth the trip. read more

I talked to the store and assistant manager. They were not happy with the girl. They stated she shouldn't have argues with me. That it wasn't my job to check to see if I got the right item or not but it was hers. The cashier I had knew exactly which front end supervisor I was talking about. The store manager said I should go to him or the store assistant from now on by asking for them. Story short, I hadn't seen her as front end since. I am happy that the problem was rectified instead of being ignored. I hope she was fired for saying she was the store manager and having a poor attitude toward a customer. No one with higher rank has the right to make a customer feel like they were at fault when the store associate didn't listen properly. read more

I picked up two packages of bacon from the display marked with a sale price. Didn't notice until I was in the parking lot that I was charged two different prices. It took at least fifteen minutes and me having to run back to the car to get the packages to convince the service desk that I was owed a refund, even though an employee was dispached to the back of the store and verified the display. No apology, for the HUGE inconvenience of having the rest of my groceries sittting in a hot car!! Your typical average grocery store, there is nothing special or noteworthy about the place. The staff is nice, the prices are okay, sometimes the meat is not okay and sometimes it is, it's hit or miss there. Most of the time I stop in here to get the can goods I need. read more

I use to love shopping at the store, but I live in Canton, so I try to stop when I am on the east side of town. Last night I came to pick up a few things at the end of the day and they rang up my order incorrectly, they told me to come by tomorrow, but when I told them I would not be on that side of town for a couple of weeks, they told me that was my only option. The Manager or head person on the night shift not only couldn't add up what they owed me, he told me the register was closed, and could not even take the money off my credit card, or offer me an alternative. It was a $68.00 order. The customer service was very bad, besides the fact that none of them had any math skills to figure out what they owed me, even after I gave the the amount and the figures. Instead of crediting my credit card for the money they owed me, they did a return on my whole order. BAD SERVICE when your not nice to the customer and don't try to help resolve the issue, but you not only lost a customer and but a $68.00 order. I went through Wendy's one time and I waited 5 minutes for my $7 order and they gave me a free frosty and apologized to me. read more
