Stopped by to pick up a few office items for our store. Parking lot is all torn up and blocked out front. Most if not all of the shelves look like someone came through and tossed each shelf in a frenzy. $8.88 for 2k in raffle tickets for an event at work, that's about 1,900 more tickets than I need. If you want to buy clothes here, call first to see if a manager will be there to unlock the fitting room. Went to Walmart. Had lost 60 lbs and wanted to see if I fit into a certain size. 1st fitting room door was locked. OK, no worries. Someone is in there. 2nd and 3rd doors were locked, too. An associate said the doors were locked because the manager went home. I asked the hours that a manager WOULD be there. She didn't know. I stated the store is open, the fitting room doors are locked and I have to have a manager here to try on pants?? I ordered my weekly groceries and again ended up with rotten sweet potatoes. Walmart does not care to deliver rotten potatoes. I CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP. Sterling Heights WALMART intentionally DELIVERS rotten molded expired produce and severely dented cans. It is obvious that the shoppers are instructed to pick the oldest food. The customer reimbursements must come from the corporate office funds, and not their store. So, there is no incentive to deliver fresh food. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. As A Senior operations manager myself, I can tell you their management practices are completely out of line. The store manager is nowhere to be found, ever. Good luck calling, their phones do not work. If you place a delivery order, you will never receive it and then have to contact corporate office for a refund which you'll be waiting five days to receive that. I will never return to this store in my life or any Walmart again. Clearly they have serious staffing/management issues that need, addressing on a corporate level. I visited the store today, I went to place an order for cupcakes, there was a girl who help one customer, she never acknowledged that my daughter and I were standing there for over 18 minutes. There was another young girl who was having a conversation or argument on the phone while pushing bakery items on the cart. She just walked right by and didn't acknowledge that we needed help. This Walmart location is horrible, it seems that there were so many people walking around doing nothing. The worst experience ever. Ordered a tire. Made an appointment..... took them 30 minutes to even bring my car in. Meh... ok. Then they tell me I ordered the wrong size. No I didn't, here's the order. Well, they sent the wrong size..... this back and forth went on for a while like an abbot and Costello who's on first. Finally a manager gets involved and they show me the fire. It isn't even the same brand I ordered. I asked them several times, did you look for the correct tire ? Finally, with me and the manager standing right there.... They looked. Wow... hey, there's my tire. Correct size correct brand. Cool. We are an hour into this fiasco. Tech finishes, gets my paperwork and keys, sitting right on the counter. They text me it's ready, and I sat for another 20+ minutes to get checked out. The same gentleman who kept telling me I ordered the wrong tire checked me out and as we were walking out the door.... I ask him.... So, I didn't order the wrong tire ? ... no........ no apology, no humility, nothing. 1:45 minutes later I'm out. For one tire. ONE ... with an appointment. Horrible.... I am disappointed to say the least. Walmart is Walmart, so you can't expect the best shopping experience. Their customer service and managers are disgusting. I bought a sheet for bedbugs, come home and open it to find its a used, white dirty sheet that has black stuff on it. Someone refunded an allergy sheet that is $50.00, kept it, and put their own dirty sheet in the box. The fact that Walmart didn't check the box apun return really says something. They either are lazy, or are giving their friends a 'deal'. Go to this Walmart if you want to buy bed bugs and used sheets. I usually shop at Target, and never had a problem. If I could leave a score for nasty and disgusting it would get 100 stars the bottle return area was completely disgusting the trash is overflowing all over the floor there's carts with trash and bottles and water bottles everywhere more than half of all the machines were out of order due to the bins being full only two actually still worked the floors were sticky there's trash and garbage all over the floors and then when I go up to the customer service representative to ask about the bottle returns that it wouldn't read the barcode she didn't even look at my returns and automatically told me oh if the machine isn't reading to barcode we don't sell it so I had to take all my bottles back into my car and then when I asked her what was going on with the returns slips she tells me that oh you can't return bottles because the bottle return areas closed and I told her no it's not I just returned bottles so I would not come here would not shop here the employees are rude and disrespectful and they don't really even care about what your concerns are or what you have to say they turn around quickly and just walk away or they look at you like you're stupid so if you enjoy going to stores where you're treated like a moron and talk to like you're a child and you don't get any service or help with any of your questions or direction of anywhere in the store go to this one because the employees don't know anything about their job read more

If you have a choice, save yourself a lot of time and do not shop here. I've stopped in here for one or two items more than once, thinking that I would be able to get in and out quickly. Wrong. There's usually only 1 or 2 checkout lanes open and they're excruciatingly slow. Plan on waiting in line for at least 15-20 minutes prior to check-out. Most of the employees are rude and the place is dirty. The last time I was here I only wanted to return 2 paper bags of bottles. I walked in and realized only 1 out of 5 machines were working so I spent 20 minutes trying to find someone to help get the machines up and running. I first spoke to the door woman and asked if there was someone who could fix the bottle machines and she replied, "I doubt it" then told me to wait in the customer service line, which had a very long, slow moving line, so I didn't even try. I went to the other side and asked the other door woman if someone could help and she asked a cashier, who came to the bottle room as soon as he was finished with his customer. He never actually got the machines to work and I ended up going to Kroger down the street. This store is a big waste of time. read more

Before I retired, I never shopped at Wal-Mart because I didn't like the way they treat their (underpaid) employees. Now I'm retired and living on a fixed income, so I can't afford to be choosy. I've read a lot of comments here about dirty stores and rude employees. The only store I shop at is the Wal-Mart Superstore at 14 Mile and Van Dyke, and while it's no palace, it's clean and well maintained and it stocks some items that I can't find at other chain stores, like Kroger, often at lower prices. And the employees have always been pleasant and helpful, often going of of their way to find an item for me. I'm sure not all Wal-Marts are the same. A lot depends on the kind of people who work there, the kind of store manager, etc. And I only shop during off hours, when I know they won't be rushed. I realize not everyone can do that. But if you've got a job, and you're in a hurry to get your shopping done because you're on your lunch hour, remember this is their busy time and don't expect them to drop everything else to take care of you. I'm giving this store (and only this store, because it's the only Wal-Mart store I've ever shopped) five stars because it's better than I expected a Wal-Mart would be. Just don't go there expecting it to be like Macy's, and you'll be fine. read more

Giving 3 stars because it is new and my shopping experience was quiet and relatively clean. Lits of boxes and employees filling shelves. The store you would think being new would be organized. Not so much. Items are thrown on shelves and on racks with no rhyme or reason. I was going through the deli section and heard a patron ask for the deli manager. The rude response she received made me stop and watch. Who are you to question why a patron wants to speak with a manager? It would be nice to have a clean and happy location to go to on the east side. I give this place a couple more months until its filled with local junk! read more

Against my better judgement I recently placed an online order with this store. I went with Walmart because I wanted the items the same day, I should have just gone in the store or ordered elsewhere because the process was a giant nightmare, no surprise, considering the source. Placed two orders Friday, was told they would be ready that day, one wasn't ready till Saturday, the second till Sunday evening. I went earlier today to pick them up and one of the orders was incomplete, the cashier had to go back to the electronics department to get the missing item. What she gave me was something that was a return, or a floor demo, or something they found opened on the shelf. It was a Roku express plus that was missing the HDMI cable, which didn't matter because I didn't need it, the batteries were in the remote, and the box was torn. Luckily everything I needed was there and the Roku unit is functional. If this company hopes to compete with Amazon, they have miles to go before they get anywhere near them. They have a huge hurdle already with the views of the public towards the owners and how they treat their employees, they should be going the extra mile to make sure ZERO goes wrong with customer interactions. I order online for store pick up nearly everywhere it's offered and have never had this many problems, actually I've not had any problems anywhere else and that is exactly where I will be shopping from now on, anywhere else. read more

This has got to be the DIRTIEST Walmart I've ever been to. The Employees are rude and don't even acknowledge you when trying to ask them for help. One Employee walked right past me without even looking at me while I tried to ask them a question... Ignored me and had her mask around her neck, not on her face where it belongs. She just kept walking ignoring me. I was asking for a pool that was in stock the night before on the website for $230. The next day it said that it was on clearance for $130 and said that there was only 1 left when I was at the store. I asked 5 people and everyone said that they don't sell pools... no one even checked it out for me. Then one guy even said that he couldn't help me because that was not his department... Does the management even train these people they ignorantly call employees? This walmart should be shut down 100%. To top it off someone was using dirty bathroom water to mop the front check out area. I almost threw up walking out... I could even smell the stench through my mask. Absolutely Disgusting. I bought a PlayStation 4 controller. Thinking it was brand new in the box. Took it home opened it up, it had a broken piece, which I didn't see when I bought it at the store. Came back to the store same day not even hour later. Explained to them what I found. They said they can't take the product return because it's not from their store and they accused me of fraud. Loved this store when all my former colleagues worked there, but since store manager Rob moved and this woman took over, she has been treating my former colleagues like crap and I don't appreciate it! I shop there less now and followed Rob to the Roseville store! Sick of managers mistreating employees and customers assume they are always bitter. The management makes a huge difference. Get a good manager back in the store and the sales would go back up and the store would be clean again. Nobody cares anymore with this new manager and it's a huge shame! They just opened a couple weeks ago, and I had high hopes because it was more convenient for me... let down. I moved here from West Michigan 2 years ago and I've never experienced such negative encounters with Wal-marts on the West side of the state. It seems that every Wall-Mart that I go to in the Greater Detroit area is dirty and the staff seem to lack any customer service training or skills. There is never enough lanes open so waiting in line is something NO ONE loves doing. There isn't much organization to the shelf stocking at night, just boxes and carts filling the aisles so patrons have a difficult time maneuvering throughout the facility. Well it's Walmart what is there really to say. I go for the cheap prices and will continue going for that reason. I'm frustrated with the lack of stock on things. If you shop online and it's supposed to be available in store it usually is not. There are not enough check out lanes open. If you go super early in the morning say before 11am you'll find a better experience vs later in the day. read more
