Trashy treatment of employees, this is not worth anyone's time to try working here. I have heard way too many horror stories with friends helping for a basic job yet? The politics in this place is a ruin. It is a very clean, spacious spot with tons of options and all the right brands. But the rewards program is hilariously obnoxious, promising some discounts instead forcing extra work to sort through coupons and waste time trying to add up a couple points for a two bucks discount. Walmart and Kroger have lower prices, better sales on expiring produce and meats, and substantially more accessible rewards. read more

I don't have a Meyer where I'm from. I walked the store just to check it out. They had a lot more to offer than the stores I have at my hometown. I really enjoyed it. Well last time when we got gas there, we normally get regular and no issues. However, we used up almost a tank of gas going to and from Chicago verses usually we have a quart left. Also today comparing the gas price with Sam's there is 31 cents more per gallon here than Sam's. So in reality you have a $1 reward, you only save 69 cents. Not a good value to the customers! So my husband and I saved all the reward points to use at the pump. I think in the past they said up to 30 gallons and they allowed you to pump different cars. Now once I stopped the pump and let my husband to use, they won't let us. So it is pointless to even use it! I buy groceries for the whole family so why can't I use it for both cars? If this is how you treat your loyal customers, then It says so much about your company! This is corporate greed!!!!! At least Kroger's recognizes me as a valued customer and gives me free eggs!!!! Oh, I also went into the store to get one item which after the coupon would be free. At the self check the guy who manned the station voided the item and then pocketed the coupon. Walked away to help another customer. I didn't get a receipt since the item has $0. Hope the company has good lost prevention agents! read more

Just had a terrible experience at Meijer checkout. I usually pay with a credit card but left it at home, so I decided to write a check for around $176.00. The cashier tried to get the check to go through and then told me that the bank denied my check. Mortified and embarrassed as there were many people behind me in line, I left my groceries and drove all the way to my home to retrieve my credit card to pay for the groceries. I quickly called the bank and was told they had never received the check electronically and that I had greatly beyond what was needed to cover the check in my account. Meijer has a company called TeleCheck that it automatically sends the check through i at checkout. After many frustrating calls to TeleCheck, I discovered that because I had not written a check at Meijers for over a year (I used a credit card instead) any future checks would not be honored! TeleCheck is an absolutely horrible company to deal with and their ridiculous policies are losing good customers every minute for t hose companies that utilize TeleCheck and I am certainly a prime example. I will certainly spread the word to everyone I know. read more

Bakery Review: Custom Photo Cake came out awesome! Placed order from far away for a friend to pick up and deliver and it worked out very well! I placed the order online using order.cakes.com. Then I needed to change the pick up time so called the bakery. I was helped by Naquita and she was awesome! Went above and beyond to figure out how to help me. The cake came out absolutely awesome and delicious! All of the attendees were impressed with both the flavor and the appearance. Thanks to Meijer Bakery staff for doing an awesome job. They need a lot of improvement with the pickup orders . I placed my order at 4:00 a.m. be picked up at 5:00 p.m. the same day and I'm still waiting . If you don't have enough help then it pull your department managers out and have them do the shopping. Wow! E.T, that's alot of walking to customer service and back. Meijer's is a great store they have some great employee's that will break their backs to help you but some that are down right mean . unless they know someone is watching. But the Meat dept. guys are great and the deli is a great dept. also. Customer service is a hit and miss. read more

This store is massive and open 24 hrs / 7 days a week! We ran out of item that was needed for Thanksgiving dinner and quick scan of Local stores this one hit the spot! I have not shopped here in so long because there is not one in AZ. The produce department is massive and greets you as you walk in on the grocery side of the store(only door open after 10pm). I was amazed by the endless selections of different fresh options. As we strolled through the rest of the store it's very clear Meijer is not just grocery store but one stop shop with the different departments throughout. I Normally don't do this and I generally have a great time in Meijer's but Margaret was the rudest "manager" I have ever spoken to. The girl at customer service and her looked at each other and laughed at me. Seeing that I was upset, Heather and another customer approached me and asked if everything was OK. Heather apologized for her fellow team members actions and when i looked back at the girls at customer service, they were both looking in my direction and talking amongst themselves. Heather calmed me down and was very sweet. I just find it amazing how these so-called "managers" act like they are better than everyone. That's all. For the second time in a week I purchased an item that rang up higher than it "appeared" to be on the shelf. In both instances the "sale" priced item was actually a higher priced item placed in the wrong spot on the shelf. Don't know if this a case of incompetence/laziness or deception. I have been a long time customer of Meijers in Bloomington, IL. I usually shop on Sundays and the shelves are never stocked. Lots of empty shelves. Today, I went (9-6-21) and there were no carts or sanitizing wipes in store. Had to go to parking lot to get a cart. I came to get 8 items. Three were out of stock. So frustrating. I use to love shopping at Meijer when I needed anything from groceries to medicine and everything in between. But, now I will no longer shop there due to how I was treated during a recent visit. I had a basket of items and went to the check out to pay and leave. I didn't have my debit card with me so I wrote a check instead. I handed the cashier my check and he runs through their system and it declines. I have never written a check their before but no reason for it to decline. Today I went online and looked up a company called Telecheck because it was printed on the back of my declined check. I looked up the decline code and it said that I am a high risk check writer because I don't write enough checks, have never written a check at Meijer before and my check number was to low. They also said that they have no outstanding unpaid debit showing for my ID but they feel I am a risk. HOW DARE THEY!!!! Not only was I embarrassed at the checkout stand, I also found out that because Telecheck decided to say decline my credit report was also affected. Come Monday, I will be calling Telecheck and Meijer to give them a piece of my mind and make sure they reverse the negative impacts on my credit report and make sure they both get anything negative out of their system. No reason for this to have happened. Does this happen to everyone that is a first time check writer at Meijer. Going to so my shopping at Hy-Vee going forward. read more

Meijer recently raised the price of their Filet Mignon to $32.99 lb. I wouldn't mind paying that price but they have the WORST meat cutters who leave grizzle and silver skin all over their Filets. Once I "Very meticulously" trim off this garbage, I'm paying almost $50.00 lb. Yep, that's right. I trim the garbage off of them and weigh it and a lot of times it is 1/3 the weight of the Filet. So, I'm trying to find a store locally who has real meat cutters who know how to trim the crap off of $32.99 lb. prime meats. I expect this grizzle and garbage on cheap meats, but not Filets!!! read more

I went for my regular bi weekly grocery shopping. I happened upon PRISCILLA'S lane number 21. Not only did I wait 40 minutes but she didn't say one word at all the whole transaction. She was the slowest cashier I have ever had in my life. She would scan one item per 30 seconds and then toss it in the bag like it was such an issue she had to do this job. After scanning said one item, she would stare at her monitor. not only did this happen to me but also the two other people in-front of me. When It was finally time to pay she skipped over cash back, skipped over my neither rewards and then skipped over the survey at the end of the transaction. I am so beyond pissed off. The manager heather was standing right there just saying oh I'm going to send you on break, okay cool but also give Priscilla an attitude adjustment maybe as well. This was my grocwry shopping spot but now I will be looking into something new. I really cannot believe workers these days...please learn how to treat others especially your customers. read more

UNSAFE! Of all of the food markets in Blono, this one makes the least effort to enforce basic safety precautions during the coronavirus crisis. Probably half of the customers are unmasked -- despite signs at the door proclaiming masks to be required. Customers don't follow the floor arrows designed to promote one-way traffic down the aisles and many make zero attempt at social distancing. It's a very uncomfortable environment and -- here's the thing -- the store is clearly making zero effort to promote a safe environment. Other stores provide regular reminder announcements or put staff in charge of reminding customers of the requirements. Not here. It's thew wild west. Definitely do not recommend under the current circumstances. read more

Meijer kicks Wal-mart's butt. Wide aisles. Good lighting. Great selection in the grocery, food, liquor, stuff I need to cook categories. Fresh veggie selection including organic is pretty big so chances are you can find what you need. Clothes are better quality than wally world so if you need something basic its nice to get it all from one place. They also have self checks which i appreciate since I can pack a bag better than anyone i know. This place is also a hella-lot easier to get in an out of than wally world. not as exciting for people watching though :-) read more

Meijer is much like a Wal-Mart but much better like the other reviewers mentioned. The produce section has a vast variety of fruits and veggies including organic options and several unique options for instance shishito peppers (they are amazing). The wine selection is meh. They offer home good items for a reasonable price. From furniture, window treatments and bedding. Although I haven't shopped in their clothing section id image it's affordable. They also have a decent garden center, after season they really mark the prices low. The one thing that I don't like is that the stopped selling their Meijer brand organics frozen fruit. Otherwise this is my go to grocery store. read more

Very great and clean store. Once this store opened, I seldom ever returned to the neighboring Wal-Mart Stupidcenter(lol), unless I couldn't find an item here. Always had a ton of self-checkout lines, and the lines moved so much quicker than Wal-Mart. Glad Meijer is starting to expand in the Chicago area, such as a new store I recently saw in Niles that opened just west of Golf Mill. I still can't stop singing my praises for this place. I got Red Sevina Habanero peppers that were the best and hottest peppers I've EVER bought in a retail store. Also, I worked out a plan of shopping for almost nothing but sub $1 items, which generally yields fairly bountiful results. Thanks, Meijer! I love that lifestyle, especially when you provide so much delicious food for so cheap. Not to mention recent purchases of 50 round boxes of Sellier & Bellot 9mm for $15 and Winchester White Box 9mm Luger for $12. I cleaned 'em out. Best supermart in Illinois. read more

The "other" super center, this place has some significant improvements over its competition, but sometimes still falls short. Pros: -Seafood center- live lobsters, large shrimp, tons of fish, all of it incredibly fresh -Bakery- fresh baguettes and loaves, and tons of cakes and cupcakes, doughnuts and pastries -Veggies- holy sh*t. This section is large and in charge. Includes just about anything you're looking for, in small and bulk style quantities -open 24 hours -walk-in beer cooler, like a giant fridge (kid at heart) -cute pony "ride" for kidlets at the entrance (see above) -cheap giant drinks available at the check-out (and drink holders in the cart!!!) Cons: -no Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, what the frak? -more expensive than Wal-mart -no small animal supplies (hay, food) All in all, they keep me coming back. I really love seafood. read more

I had a great experience at this Meijer. After purchasing a product from the freezer case I got it home to find it was horribly freezer burned and was full of ice. It was edible but I made a comment on the survey. The next day I got a call back from someone at the store letting me know that the manager investigated that product, found others still in the case were also full of ice, and she had discarded all of it. She offered me a double refund and told me the date I could come in and buy freshly delivered product. The replacement product was delicious! read more

They have a very nice produce selection and the quality is also very good. Overall, the store has prices that are better than most local stores but not as good as Walmart unless the product is on sale. They also have a good selection of meat and the option of getting meat from the butcher counter. read more

Anyone that has a Meijer credit card or thinking of getting one beware they just closed my account not because I haven't paid my bill, but because I haven't used it enough and my credit score went down. When I talked to them they said because they don't want to take the chance that I won't make the payment. So though I have it paid off and never been late I am bring punished because of things that have not a dang thing to do with them. They also don't care about what happened to cause the credit score decrease or what you are going through. read more

Don't get your prescriptions filled here. You will be sorry if you do. They seldom have what you need. They do not communicate. Every person I have talked to has taken their business to some other pharmacy in town. Once they didn't have all the pills I needed. They filled what they had and then sent the other 7-8 pills loose in an envelope with no note. I never got anything filled there that there was not a problem. I went back to Walgreens and am happy. I know others have gone back to Cubs, Kroger etc and say they are happy there. All I know is that Meijer is a total and complete nightmare. It does not let me actually give 0 stars so it gets 1. read more
