The Morton Kroger has been updated and is the cleanest and best stocked Kroger store in the Tazewell County area. They seem to generally have plenty of cashiers available and a fresh inviting produce section. There is a Starbucks right inside the store entrance. No deals there just the convenience of one stop shopping. A few observations: -They have a loyalty program where you register and trade your buying history for fuel points (rewards) toward the purchase of gas at the Kroger fuel station. In order to get the lowest advertised store price on Kroger merchandise you have to scan your card or provide your phone number. A strategy might be to use a common family phone number to more quickly build rewards. -Rather than BOGO their deal is Buy 5 Save 5. So on a frozen vegetable instead of paying the Kroger loyalty price of 2.29 you pay 1.29 each if you buy 5 in the same brand and category. Seems like a deal if they have sufficient stock when you are shopping. Wednesday is when the weekly store ad/specials drop so probably the best day to shop. -They have a 'Last Chance' section where they offer clearance prices on stickered merchandise. Aisle 8 when I was there. A quick scan and a check of expiration dates can net a bargain. -Kroger offers online digital coupons that you can clip after you download and register through their app. Check the app privacy details for the many ways Kroger can gather and sell your personal information including to third party advertisers. read more

This is fourth time have picked up an order that had items missing. Not sure how hard it is to put groceries into a bag. Everytime we give a tip. Such a shame that it is not deserved. Has not been a big deal until now, just small items missing but how do you miss a large pack of propel water? Any time I have tried to resolve missing item, there is no help. Pick up is such a rip off. Would suggest to anyone who is going to pick up grocery order to check it or simply go somewhere else. I know I will. read more

I didn't give Kroger off Coliseum Blvd in Fort Wayne, Indiana, nor the West State Blvd. Kroger store a high rating because of the fact that the cashiers they manage to hire in the past couple of years or more have been coupon thieves - as a valued customer, Kroger sends great coupons, one of which is for $20 if you spend $200 or more, which is easy to do when you're purchasing food and supplies for pets on an ongoing basis and a customer for 20 years or more - the fact that you can't read your receipt while in the store is due to Kroger cashiers never change the ink on their registers where the receipts can be read without a spotlight on them. I do think that Kroger stores have excellent products and their employees of many years are loyal; however, from the present generation all you get are thieves who not only don't remember to put all products purchased into your cart, but also the thievery of loyal customers' coupons is ongoing. I have reported this on X-Twitter many times, but that site is now closed; plus you don't get any responses from online Kroger at Facebook. You try to resolve this with the resolution clerks or managers and it's impossible, which makes me wonder if Kroger isn't set up in some way to retrieve these coupons just as the price gouging that is ongoing and now they've added to the business, 'photo recognition' - WHY when if Kroger would do more research, the thievery is most likely from their employees NOT THEIR CUSTOMERS IMO - they often have guards who are seen horsing around while on their job checking your receipts when leaving and this is often after you've already paid and groceries often bagged by a RESOLUTION CLERK - THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE WHATSOEVER, SO WHAT THE HEY IS KROGER UP TO? ARE MANY OF THE FORT WAYNE KROGER STORES SET UP TO SCAM? Is the answer to all this nonsense to move on to Aldi's as it appears that the other Kroger stores that I've tested are the same "cashiers & coupon theft." read more

This was probably the most disappointing Kroger I've ever been to. Obviously they cannot get enough people to work here, which is usually a sign of poor management. Or poor pay. Or a complete lack of organization. Or all the above. BUT BUT BUT, a woman in the fresh, ready to serve section near the deli actually stepped up and went out of her way to cut a piece of pecorino ramano cheese from a huge wheel for me because that was my whole reason for being there today. Her name is LISA and she deserves the employee of the year award AND probably a bonus. Maybe even a promotion. Thank you Lisa for giving a damn about your job and about your customers. Kroger is often sold out of sale items early, necessitating a return trip to obtain the sale item. This week I went to Krogers three days in a row to purchase a digital coupon item. Each day the shelf was empty. The third day was the final day of the sale. When I inquired if the item would be restocked later in the day, I was told the truck would come in at midnight after the sale ended. And they give no rain checks on digital coupon items. I have shopped Morton Kroger for over 20 years, but I will be shopping a lot more at Walmart and Aldi in the future. read more

We stopped at this Kroger on the way to Iowa for starbucks..its a normal Kroger setup with a small Starbucks setup inside. The store was clean and full staffed the only complaint I had that when I used the restroom it was horrible and supe dirty. read more

I have shopped Morton Kroger frequently. For about 5 times I go thru self checkout. The items have not registered the sale price as stated at their location. The helper has told me I have to go to the front of the store. I have to wait until they quit checking customers out for service. When the helper tried to help me but just charged me more and told again, go to front of the store. I waited and waited. Finally I told the lady to take everything back, credit my account and I would not be shopping here again. Poor management or a good way to make money. Very disappointed and angry. We have an Aldi and Walmart in town. They will get my business. read more

The Starbucks in here has great customer service. I just moved here from Texas & I've been to this one twice while shopping around Kroger & I've gotten the same employee twice & he's always really nice & this this time my app wasn't working & it wasn't loading the bar code but it was showing the amount, so because of the malfunction he gave me a free drink! read more

Kroger - June 2014 - Grocery Near Me - Morton, Illinois

I have been very disappointed with checking out recently. I normally use the express check-out lanes but they have been closed for some reason. the other lanes have two or three customers in line with a large number of lines and the self check-out lanes can take up 10 to 20 minutes to get through due to so many people in the line and individuals trying to look up their produce items. Watched a woman there earlier today spend 10 minutes in line and still wasn't through and she only had 4 items. Management might want to consider opening express lanes if they do not want to lose business. Jeff H. read more

This is by far the best Kroger in the area. Great organic section. Tons of deli options and amazing fresh sushi. They also have more than one lane open at a time so checking out is fast and easy. read more

I think it's embarrassing to go into Kroger and find no homemade pumpkin treats - only national chain vendors that one can get at any store Man, I really miss Thompson Food Basket that ALWAYS had the largest Pumpkin Bar in the world, along with other baked goodies from the bakery there. read more

The Morton Kroger is amazing. Fresh produce which I love and also fresh seafood. Wild Caught Salmon is great! Plus they treat their employees well providing Healthcare and 401k benefits. Walmart is not doing that so remember, when you spend a dollar somewhere you are supporting their culture. LOVE the mediterranean salad bar at Kroger. read more

I shop here all the time, and save a lot of money here because of the good sales, digital coupons & fuel points. Friendly staff. My only (minor) complaints are the layout of the store, (akward set up around the bread/organic foods/chips sections, and tight spaces in some areas), and the produce is expensive. All in all though, good place to shop. I would NOT recommend the Starbucks, however. I always order the same thing-- Iced Mocha Frappe-- it tastes more like a chocolate shake, doesn't taste like there's any coffee in it. Also, they usually only have one person, (who is very nice) working, so the service is INCREDIBLY slow. read more

We like this store. Love the addition of the starbucks at the front of the store. Gotta love getting fuel points and a big bonus is there is a gas station at this location where you can use your full points. Missing a few things in the produce aisle is our only complaint. read more

On the average I am satisfied with the Morton Kroger store. BUT - if you shop in the afternoon or evening, many sale items are always empty. Today I shopped at 4:15 pm, there were no bagged apples available and the major soda brand (6 packs) were over half empty. There was no 24 oz Pepsi products on the shelf. This is a common experience that items do not seem to be restocked for the rest of the day. There are only two choices for groceries in Morton, Kroger and Wal-Mart. read more

I have shopped at the Morton IL Kroger store for many years & have watched it go steadily downhill. The shelves are frequently empty of products like bread & it is common when asking about something that is not on the shelf to be told that the truck "comes tonight". The produce dept. is one of the worst of any store I have been in. Empty shelves abound in this dept. and it is common to go for bagged lettuce & they are out. Or to go for watermelon in the summer & the 2 remaining are rotten & there is no more until the truck "comes tonight". I usually check myself out rather than put my food on the checkout belts that always look dirty. This store is in dire need of a through cleaning. I am more disappointed each time I go there to the point of probably not going there any more. read more

I have been in this store a handful of times. Both times the cashiers seem more interested in having a conversation with each other. The last time was over their relationship going south. This time was about going home because they weren't well, they were not sick, it sounded like the girl didn't want to be there and had better things to do. Go home. We don't want to hear it. Neither time acknowledged my mother nor myself. I also couldn't find 3 products. I walked passed, what looked like the store manager talking with the floor manager and an employee. Which i heard their conversation each of the 5 times I walked by. About an incident that should not be discussed in front of customers. You have an office use it. As well as each time I passed you all made eye contact with me. Clearly seeing me not find what i was looking for walking in circles around you. As well as the clerks stocking the shelves which were scarce. The one i found looked at me like i was searching for gold and i just needed sandwich bags. The flow of the store is odd. Even though you have a good selection. I almost left my cart and walked out because there is no customer service or lack of but my mother needed her groceries. I will not be going back to this location. If I were the manager I would have easily fired 5 people. Due to their lack of interest in their job and customer service. read more

wow, i am from pennsylvania and krogers carries a bread that we can't get out here. i called customer service and spoke to ellen and then austin and they were able to put five loaves on hold for a few hours today until my sister can pick it up and mail it to me. thanks kroger. you guys are the best. we wish you were in pennsylvania read more

Place is decent to shop and prices are good. Only problem I have is the management. I feel that the management is horrible at this store. They seem to treat their employees like trash. As I was waiting in line, I heard management talking about a young lady behind her back. In my eyes, this is not correct. This management really needs to step up their game and treat their employees like humans. People are always in the front telling the workers what to do like "Smile!" "Introduce yourself to the customer" As a customer I don't want to be hearing this and don't really care if they introduce themselves.. Seems like they are over working them and they probably aren't paid very well. Their job is to bag and/or scan products.. They shouldn't have to do all the extra stuff.. Only thing I look for is for the worker to say "Hello, how are you doing?" All this extra stuff isn't needed.. Other than that... The store is clean and pleasant to shop in.
