At 4pm there was still no update on my order, and we had a family birthday to go to at 4:30p. Because of this I rescheduled to the 8-9pm time slot. We got there at 8pm and sat for 20 minutes. Finally I called the number on the sign and was informed that someone would be out in 15 minutes. No one ever came, I called again and they said my order hadn't even been started because they are short staffed. I asked for the manager, who also just said "we are short staffed" and hung up. Awful communication and customer service. They had 8 hours to pick my order, which should have been an ample amount of time.

On February 10, 2025 I had to return A toy that my wife ordered online, when it was delivered it was missing some parts. No big deal as I had to go to the store the next day. I took the toy to the customer service desk and Jerrica behind the counter since I was going to just get another one she would issue me a gift card as my refund. I said whatever is easiest. I asked where I could find the toy she looked it up told me it's location. I went back to toy department to get it but could not find it. I looked down the entire aisle but could not find it. I also checked the aisles on both sides of the one it was supposed to be on, nothing. I went back up to the service desk to ask if it was maybe out of stock. Jerrica had gone to help one of the checkout clerks, so I asked the other woman that was there if see she look to see if they had any of them in stock? She looked it up and said there was 13 in stock. I said I could not find them anywhere, so she went and got Jerrica to go back with me to see if she could find the toy for me. We got back in the toy department and she went right to the spot that it was suppose to be she said the toy that was there definitely not the one I was looking for. She went and got a ladder and checked on the top shelf it wasn't there either. she then took the time to check the other aisles also and then said she was going to back to check the stock room. she came apologizing because she couldn't find it anywhere. I told that was ok as my wife could check later to find one. I truly appreciate the time and effort that Jerrica put towards trying to find what I wanted. The owner never replied to any communication from the State's Attorney's office. The recommendation is for ANYONE who has been a victim of fraud from this business to file a complaint so the State can gather enough evidence to investigate. Filing a small claims lawsuit is not possible due to it being her word against mine regarding what items actually sold. Given the complaints from the Facebook page (she conveniently removed) and the others who have reached out via FB messanger this store contiunes to steal from consignors.

I have had two bad experiences with Big Lots since April 2024…read more 1. I bought a patio rug online and of course paid for it. When I got to the store to pick it up the manager instructed me to pay again at the counter. I explained I had already paid but he insisted. Said their system was down. I inserted my credit card and paid again. When I was at the store yesterday I asked to speak to the store manager regarding another issue and an assistant came up front instead and didnt know anything about my issue so I proceeded to request the store manager once again and once again he sent his assistant. His assistant said he was busy. Too busy to speak to a customer??? So my issue yesterday was that I purchased a mattress on 7/6/2024 at 1:45 pm during the store 1 day sale of 30% off. When I purchased this mattress I was told that for every $100 I spent I would receive a $10 coupon. I did receive a coupon for $20 off of $40! I was not told that I had to spend additional money to receive my coupon earned. I ended up having to walk over to the store manager myself to speak to him. I asked him why he didn't come speak to me initially and his response was he was busy trying to get back $1100 that he didn't have. Poor customer service? As I was speaking to him I brought up the issue about the rug and I would be safe in saying he was the store manager that helped me but of course he knew nothing about it. He went on to tell me that any purchase made online does NOT reflect in the store! What???? My suggestion is that the employees be trained and get a new Store Manager! I also noticed on my last two receipts dated 7/6/24, that Big Lots wants me to take a customer survey for a chance to win $1000. It goes on to say the sweepstakes ended on 6/22/24. I like the wide aisles that have plenty of room to pass other shoppers without invading personal space. The store clerks are very friendly and helpful. One lady in particular, whose name is Cindy is an exceptional worker in the cashier lane. This lady made me aware of the discounts offered and coupons that are emailed to me monthly. I never had a cashier that let me in on the perks like Cindy. The other clerk that has been at Big Lots for several years is Joy; she knows her stuff. I go for her lane when it's not Cindy's day. I try to go through Cindy's lane when I have my Japanese aunt with me. She said she never had a store clerk that she understood. The furniture department is pretty quiet and peaceful. I tested out their mattress selection one day and fell asleep only to wake up to nobody knowing I had nodded off. I like the fact that the employees mind their own business and don't stalk and follow me around like I'm going to cause shenanigans or something. The layout is efficient, and assistance needed is minimal. Good place to get gifts or "a little something" to share with a friend. Overall, I think the shopping experience is stress free, and get in and out easily.. UNLESS it is SALE day! Go either early or late because all the grumpy women seem to shop on that day. I stop at the liquor store next door to fill up my mug, or Brass Key before shopping when it is SALE day. The whole routine is much better.

UFS, is located in an older area of Peoria and includes 2 different buildings located across the street from one another. One building houses furniture and the other building carries all of the other general retail and house ware items. You wouldn't expect a store like this to have an outstanding beer selection, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of beer that they carry. Even more surprising is their low prices. They undercut prices from other beer retailers by at least $1.00 per six pack of craft beer. I picked up several 6 packs that I'd never seen before and took them back to Tennessee with me. I'll definitely be returning during my next visit to the Peoria area. On a side note: they often have beer tastings here. During our visit, they were giving out free samples of Bridgeport beer. Check your local listings for details.

No holiday gift bags etc Approximately 10 handbags no jewelry displays. I felt like I was shopping a UFS that is trying to reinvent itself. I wish them lots of luck they are a great group of employees who have been with this store a long time. So drop the merch and refocus on only alcohol and furniture.
