I received a final notice from the States Attorney's office regarding my complaint against Castaway Consignment. The owner never replied to any communication from the State's Attorney's office. The recommendation is for ANYONE who has been a victim of fraud from this business to file a complaint so the State can gather enough evidence to investigate. Filing a small claims lawsuit is not possible due to it being her word against mine regarding what items actually sold. Given the complaints from the Facebook page (she conveniently removed) and the others who have reached out via FB messanger this store contiunes to steal from consignors. read more

This is a fabulous place to find current fashions at a great price. Very friendly staff! Good lelection for both women and children!!

I had been consigning clothes over the last 4 years, and, never had a good feeling about how they picked their clothes. And, I felt like the clothes that I did leave with them...were sold, but, there never seemed to any money adding to my account. Needless to say, I stopped going there and, now, I have moved out of State, and, they will not send me a check for the money that they admit they owe me...it is always an excuse...I would not shop there, and, would be embarrassed to have many people say the same thing about this store. Like another reviewer I used to love this store as a consignor, I drove 80 miles round trip to drop off stuff and pick up a check. My last drop off was in April 2024. I asked in June if I had $ on my account, which I did. I have asked every month since then if I could have a check sent & have gotten various excuses "Oh I just sent checks out last week, I will send it out later this week, etc. ". A year later no check --I think the store caters to a few "Favorite" customers and consignors and ignores the rest of us! read more

Absolutely LOVE Castaways! They have a wide range of women's and kids clothing. All in great condition, current styles and prices are very reasonable. The staff is always so friendly and happy to help with any questions. The owner is an absolute sweetheart and I always leave the store happy with my purchases. Love to have this store as an option to shop in my area. read more

Unfortunately what was once a great place to find deals in excellent condition, I may be crossing this shop off my consignment shopping lists. Disorganization is at an all time high with long delays in getting the items you bring in out to the selling floor. They seem to frequently post on their social media accounts that they are backed up with pricing items so please don't bring in any new consignments but then if you go in to shop, you have some half empty racks flip through. Also, any staff member on duty seems to be able to look through your items which does lead to too wide ranging of accepted brands. As the staff gets younger, I am noticing more and more low-level mall brands taking over what used to be good quality brands that last. The saddest part is how they are pricing those low level brands, after seeing an Old Navy sundress marked $15 when they don't even cost that much new, I knew this place had made a sharp turn for the worse. read more

Ok.. they have some great items, but I feel that they are way overpriced for a resale- consignment shop! DOONEY & BOURKE purses are overpriced to begin with, but they should be under $100 in a consignment shop.. I found a t-shirt that was $18.99, and blouses from Coldwater Creek were priced at 12 $13.. I used to adore this store until I realized their questionable consignment practices. After frequent mislabeling, which leads to crediting wrong accounts, and inconsistencies in what pieces will be accepted, I don't plan to frequent this consignment store anymore. Additionally, I've discovered other better stores in the area, which much better business practices. read more
