S/o and I came here for July 4 dinner on a whim considering most establishments were closed for the holiday or were not open past 10pm. We found this place and it closes at 1am! The server was kind, and at first sat us at the booth. The booth had apparently just been cleaned, but they did not do a good job of wiping it down. The table had a lot leftover cleaning product and the floor was extremely wet. It was completely unacceptable to sit us there when they did not properly clean and wipe down the table and surrounding area. So we got up and just sat at a table across the booth. We ordered naan, mango lassi, chicken tikka kabob (boneless) and lamb kabob. The dishes came with veggies, rice, chutney, small side of chana masala. Wish we had looked up yelp beforehand and ordered tandoori chicken, though! The mango lassi was extremely orange for some reason, which makes me wonder if they used some sort of puree as opposed to fresh mangos. But it was tasty, and it wasn't too heavy nor too sweet, there was a hint of sourness in there but it didn't take away from the overall flavor. The dishes were more than plenty and generous, we had difficulty finishing despite how hungry we were! Definitely a place to go if you want something filling. The prices were extremely fair for the portion they give you. I would say the lamb was on the tougher side and the chicken was on the drier side. I wish both of the meats were a bit more tender and it would have been a winner. read more

The "welcoming" is... there was none. I had to get to the menu and pick it up myself so they know my purpose there. Yes, they bring you water beforehand, ok. But, ... a restaurant with no music (not talking about live music, but through their speakers, background music) just makes everything pretty weird and uncomfortable. Talking about feeling uncomfortable, besides the silence? ... the employees make you feel not welcomed. I don't know if this something cultural but they look at you like "you're not supposed to be there", like they are already mad at you because you entered their restaurant, and it felt awkward. ... why so serious? Disappointed is to say the least. The Buffett had only a few choices. My family members and I, total of 3 people felt ripped off! The most infuriating thing was that all the tables with the exceptions of ours were reserved. Turns out they were reserved for the Muslim Ramadan. When the sun come down, the restaurant filled up. Then all the different foods came out too. At first we got excited to see the new foods come out but we were not welcome to eat any more. We had already paid and were having custard for desert so technically we were still eating. Maybe we had to be of a different religion to be welcomed there. Never again!! This place really sucked! The staff barely spoke two words to us and the waiter was very quiet and had no personality at all. Mehran lunch buffet is on point! Everything is excellent. The buffet is piping hot and fresh, the cooks bring new items out rotationally. The aloo gosht, daal, chana, tandoori chicken, and mixed sabzi bazi are all on point. Naan is served hot and buttered. Finish it off with some kheer and mini gulab jamun. First let me start by saying this place does not even deserve one star!! I ordered chicken Tikka masala over the phone that came out to $11.65. I came in, handed the cashier $12 which he just put in the cash register, closed it and handed me utensils that I asked for. Um, where is my change?? Now I didn't make a big deal about it Because I knew I would've ended up putting the $.35 in the tip jar, but hello don't just assume people don't want their change. Who does that?? Now that was not even the worst part! I get settled into work and open up my container to find a bowl full of sauce, peppers and onions With a minimum 4 to 5 small pieces of boneless chicken swimming around in it. The flavor was mediocre and the naan bread was also super hard! They are so lucky they were closing because I would've been right back there for my refund and to give them a piece of my mind!! If they had no food left they should've just told me that over the phone or offered something else in exchange. I ordered the butter chicken tonight and it was the worst butter chicken I've ever had. It honestly tasted like tomato soup with some chicken and cream. I wish it would list on their menu that rice does not come with the order. After eating a few bites i couldn't eat anymore because the sauce was grainy and didn't taste good. Yeeeessss! This place really hit the spot. The weekend buffet had so many tasty options. The chicken haleem was especially delicious, and the tandoori chicken was some of the most moist and flavorful tandoori chicken I've ever had. Fresh naan was also delivered to our table. My husband was extremely impressed with the food as well. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The price wasn't bad, at a little over $15 a person, including tax and gratuity. The ONLY odd thing was the automatic gratuity. Why would you automatically add gratuity for two people? This place was a 30 minute drive for us but well worth it. We'll be back. read more

We ordered take out on a Friday night and were extremely disappointed. First, everything we ordered was cold when it arrived. And the food was less than mediocre. The chicken legs in the chicken biryani were dry and the rice was old. The samosa was very greasy and bland. The butter chicken tasted like sweet and slightly spicy pizza sauce. Like dry chicken in ketchup with a sprinkle of cayenne. And it did not include any rice. Finally, the chickpea side dish was very cold and odd tasting with bits of hard bread mixed in. I have done late night carry outs from this Pakistani restaurant. I really like their meat dishes. They are quite oily but full of flavor and you can ask them to make it spicy which is usually the right amount of spice for me. One of the advantages of this place is that it's opened till midnight and so it's a very good option if you are looking for food past 10 pm. read more

The best Pakistani/Indian place in the area of Reston, Herndon, Sterling, Ashburn and Leesburg. The food is really top notch, both off the menu and the buffet. I gave them a four star due to 2 reasons. Firstly, on a couple of incidences, their customer service wasn't that great. But that was only on a few occasions (like on 5% of my visits and I go there a lot). Otherwise, they have a very good customer service. Food is very fresh and tasty. Though it took a few seconds for someone to show up and guide me on the process of getting started with my dinner, the wait was boring and seemed like eternity... The buffet came to 10,59 and had one rice, dal, 2 veggies, 1 kheer, 4 chicken dishes (tikka, Jalfrezi, kofta and kurma), Naan, rice and salad... What happened to you guys? Mehran used to be one of the best restaurants in nova for Pakistani food. My past few experiences here have been terrible. Going in for the weekend buffet was the last straw....Old nehari, paya was full of bones, no flavor in channa, daal, and other salans. The only good thing were the chicken tikkas, but I am sure this will may not last long. It seems like similar things are happening at this restaurant that happened at shalimar. The staff is getting complacent and the food, service, and quality are going down. In nova, where you ave so many great Pakistani restaurants, this is not the way to run your business. read more

Went to this place today with my ofc team. Thought of taking a buffet but the options were less and didn't look good, so opted for a-la-carte. Ordered Veg Samosa, Okra, Onion Kulcha for myself and others ordered Butter Chicken, Some fried Tilapia fish. The Samosa were 'double fried' so had a ton of oil. Either way, waiter gave us option of switching one of the two, rice or bread, with any other veg curry from Buffet. It was Chana Masala, Mix Veg Curry or Daal(lentils). Based on how these three looked in the Buffet, I thought Chana Masala would be the best bet. I was Wrong. It turned out to be Oil Masala with chana floating in it. All the food, be it any curry, had only Oil and no spices. All u taste is just oil and no flavor. Overall it was not a good experience, and may not visit the place again. Umm, yeah. Dingy interior with sparsely placed tables and oddly located mirrors. The Tandoori chicken and naan were actually pretty good, but the other 5 items in the buffet were extremely greasy. I'm also the winner of a free post-lunch headache, which is usually a sign of MSG. Correlation != causation, but it's close enough to trip a warning sign in my swollen, throbbing brain. Reviews in Google Maps seriously led me astray here with Mehran listed as Indian, good and with no mention of kabobs (of which there were none). Went here by myself last Friday night around 10pm to suffice a kabob craving, The place was hosting what looked to be a wedding reception that night, I was pleasantly surprise to see that with all the festivities going on, it did not get in the way of their service to regular customers. I seated myself and took a table towards the back of the restaurant to separate myself from the wedding, I looked over the menu already knowing what I wanted...I cant remember the name of it, but it was a spicy boneless chicken kabob. The service was still good despite the loud music and party-goers, which I didn't mind at all, I was really hungry. The food came out promptly with a side of flatbread, chickpeas and a salad...I skipped all that though and dove straight into kabob. I asked a lot of stupid questions to the waiter which he happily answered. (I'm pretty new to kabob's and everything related) The chicken was good and I couldn't get enough of the basmati rice, I literally ate another plate of just plain rice! The service was great given the circumstances (busy wedding/people running around), The food was also good! Best $10 I've ever spent this year, I will be back! Ordered a chicken tikka wrap on uber eats. Was excellent. Warm, soft naan bread absolutely stuffed with delicious chicken+sauce and fresh veggies. Very reasonably priced, $8 for a huge wrap. I'm normally more adventurous with my food choices but didn't want to push it when trying somewhere I'm not familiar with. I'm sold now, will definitely have to come in and try the buffet, (and everything else) it all sounds amazing. So glad I took a chance. read more
