My mother purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Lowe's. Mega plumbing was installer sent to do install. Installer called and set up install, no problem there. Arrived on time. Was nice guy, pleasant, no problem there. But, the install is a different story, unfortunately. First time mom opened the dishwasher door all the way, it caught in a bind, a screw fell from somewhere, and the door bent. See pics below. The whole thing is obviously crooked. Tried calling Mega Plumbing to report the major problems but they don't answer the phone. Waiting now for Lowe's to replace and install another dishwasher....hopefully with another plumber. Mega Plumbing is the only sub contractor for Loews to install refrigerators and dishwashers. Customer service is poor. They cannot adhere to the promised times for installs and don't return your calls when they don't show up. Loews should go back to Michael and Sons for appliance installation. I have never had any issues with them. Very punctual and the customer is kept up to date regarding schedules or any issues. I had to take 2 days off just to get a simple dishwasher installed and no show. Then Monday I got a call at 4pm that they will be there in 10 minutes. I had to rush home from work to meet them. I had an over the range microwave installed. The installer installed the microwave, but he took the brand new stove hood without even asking if we wanted him to haul it away. When we called him and asked about it, he stated that he had already trashed it. I told him that I found that highly unlikely since no one in their right mind would trash a brand new hood. He didn't even respond to that. He just told me that I was supposed to tell him to leave it. So, by that logic he could have taken my fridge, my dog, hell my wife since I didn't tell him not to take those things either. Didn't even offer an apology. I reached out to the company and they pretty much told me that there is nothing they can do. Well, there is something I can do, and this review is it. He's only 2 days on the job but...but...he was great - intalled my over the range microwave and...and....he fixed the mess the previous senior plumber from Mega did (believe it was Fernando). The previous plumber came a few days earlier and installed my dishwasher..did not bother to run the washer the whole cycle...was in a hurry....changed the connection valve underneath the sink but left with leaks, which I found out after I ran the entire dishwasher cycle. The first vanity installation, your crew took the wrong measurements but installed the vanity anyways.. Mistakes happen, no big deal, but the second attempt at installing the vanity it was still incorrectly measured! My problem with your company is your dishonesty. Mistakes happen, measurements don't always add up, but your technicians, instead of saying "Opps, we can't install this vanity because it won't fit," they installed it anyways! You damaged the walls and used putty to fill in the gaps where the vanity top didn't accurately meet the wall. Shame on you! Take the honest route next time. read more

The first Mega Plumber team to come out removed the old unit but didn't install the new because they said it didn't fit. I said this is not true because the new washer and dryer has the same dimensions as the one they removed. I think they were lazy and just didn't want the job. The didn't even take the new washer and dyer out of the box or truck. I called Mega Plumber and told them this was not acceptable. They had a different team come this morning and I was very concerned because it was a husband and wife team and they were small in stature. Looks are deceiving! Wilmer and Blanca made it happen! I bought a dishwasher from Lowe's they assign mega to do the install, guy walks in my door I let him know that he made need to remove 1 piece of quarter round. He immediately goes in to shut down mode, pulls out the tape measure and says..." I was afraid of this, it won't fit" then starts giving incorrect measurements of the unit to be installed to back up his desire to NOT install my dishwasher. Before I can contact the store to find out what's going on he just leaves my house and drives off. Never attempted to remove the old one let alone install the new one. then this piece of crap goes straight home for the day & doesn't take my dishwasher back to Lowe's for another 2 days. Hired through Lowes to install a dishwasher, firstly it took them a week to get an appointment out to us. Then the guy shows up, looks under the sink where the pipe connects and sees one drip of water and says he needs to replace a valve for an additional $250 before he can install the dishwasher. That valve has been there for 7 years and has never leaked the whole time it's been connected to the current dishwasher. The dishwasher only cost $400 and we already had to pay an additional $150 to get it installed, no way am I paying an additional $250 for something that's not a problem, that would then equal the cost of the dishwasher for the valve and the installation. I'm going back to Lowes and seeing about getting a full refund for the installation and returning the dishwasher as well, I'll get one somewhere else where installation is included. read more

They offered an installation date as soon as that Monday. The technician (Alan) arrived on schedule and was fantastic. He did a really nice job of being careful when removing the old dishwasher and installing the new unit. He tested everything thoroughly, explained the operation of this particular dishwasher, and had me verify the positioning before locking everything in. I've had some hit-or-miss experiences with installation services in the past. Horrible experience. Bought dishwasher from Lowes and this was the company assigned to install it. They sent 1 guy, who didn't speak English who didn't even carry the new dishwasher in by himself, we had to help him. First he said it wasn't going to fit. Doesn't he know they are a standard size? Then he said we needed to move the electric receptacle, no man you aren't an electrician. I asked how far is it going to stick out, got ignored. He set it in place and guess what, it fit just fine. He left it plugged in and went to work on wires on machine side, sparks flew everywhere, tripped the breaker. Then he stepped on the cord plug and broke the ground. He wanted to use it anyway, we said no. He got another out of truck, off some other new device he had loaded in his rented van, with no markings on it. Moving on to the install, he twisted the pipes under the sink to hook up the dishwasher drain and broke it. Tried to say "no leaks" when we opened cabinet it was leaking. He put a hole in the metal pipe twisting it. Then he said old pipes. Well it wasn't leaking when he got here. By the way, his shirt said a landscaping company. After arguing with someone on the phone, he was to come back. Two hours later we called Lowes. Lowes called this company and they said he was on the way be here in 30 mins. Two more hours later we left and went to Lowes to get parts. Guess who we saw there?? The lawn guy, buying the cheapest plastic pipe available to replace my broken metal pipe. When I said, on my phone translator, waiting for the manager, he ran out of the store. Manager pursued and spoke with him outside in the parking lot. After much more conversation with the "boss" on the phone, the guy comes back. This time he twisted the pipes so much the sink drain putty busted and is leaking and he put another actual hole in the metal pipe. He said old pipes, I need to replace all of them, he can't fix. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Was told by Lowes it would be installed by a licensed plumber. I asked his boss on the phone for his contractor number and he wouldn't give it to me. read more

Terrible experience with Mega Plumbing, Lowe's go-to installation contractor in MD/DC area due to Mega's rushed, shoddy installation of our new $800 dishwasher. Lowe's included a 5-foot supply line in the sale, but it was obvious to the installer that a 6-foot line (maybe even a bit longer) was necessary. Instead of installing it the right way (and just charging us a few bucks more for a supply line the proper length), he left a taut 5-foot supply line stretched across the back quarter of our cabinet (rendering the space unusable for storage). He also did not have a waste line long enough for the job, so he spliced a new hose into the 10-15 year old waste line. He left the moisture wrap hanging down from the front of the unit, and left gasket screws that should have been flush plainly visible. Very unprofessional. After many phone calls to Mega and Lowe's, a Mega supervisor(?) appeared to quickly inspect the job, telling Lowe's (on the phone as I listened) that the 5-foot supply line was 8 feet long (it's not!), and that the job looked fine to her. When I asked why they didn't just leave the old, proper length supply line installed, she insisted it was "for liability reasons." But apparently, the waste line is exempt... We expected such a simple problem to be addressed quickly and easily, but Mega has demanded more money to correct their original installation errors, and has not been honest with us or with Lowe's, who seems to be intimidated by them. On top of that, the new dishwasher will not dry. Another Mega quality issue??? Beware of Mega Plumbing. read more

OTR Microwave install- Went on Lowes website and ordered a Samsung Microwave and a week later 2 guys from MP showed up (of course they or Lowes had the wrong number and never called - no biggee). They were very quiet and seemed like in a rush. They removed the old and inserted the new one above the oven in about 20min of fuss and drilling. Said they were all done and i asked do i need to look into the cabinet? Is everything ok? They said it was perfect and I'm all set. After they left I looked in the cabinet above, and there's 3-4 extra holes on each side when they couldn't line it up ,and also gouged out damage (3-4 inches) on each side of the left and right cabinet wall where the drill came into contact with the cabinet. So, I think it's safe to say, its probably the worst install i have ever had to pay for. And it was 200$. read more

Beware: Bought dishwasher from lowes. As soon as they walked in they told me they had been given the wrong hose but they just happen to have one on the truck they can sell me for $40. I had paid for installation from Lowe's already. They were there, I wanted it done, so I told him to go ahead. When it came time to pay they said they wanted cash and now the bill was $85 as they had added some thing else to the installation. I was alone and I am a senior adult and got nervous so I gave him two $20 bills. He put one in his pocket and gave the other guy a $20 bill. I wrote them a check for the remaining $45 . I definitely recommend Fernando. One side note is the date originally scheduled with Lowes was a week earlier than actual install happened but I didn't mind and don't know if Lowes or Mega Plumbing issue. This guy is running a SCAM! We had repair man over 2 weeks ago & he said everything looked good, would be a simple install (cost more to repair than replace). We contacted Lowe's... He wanted $225 immediately to replace water shutoff valve or told us hire someone else to install before he could hook up dishwasher. He left with our dishwasher in the back of his pickup after we told him to bring it into the house. We arranged with Lowes to have a new dishwasher delivered and they refunded our installation cost. Our plumber came in two days equipped with a new shut off valve and after examining it told us there was nothing wrong with the existing valve. He installed the dishwasher at a reasonable cost. These people are extremely unreliable and incompetent. I got my mom a dishwasher for Christmas and paid for the parts and installation to try to make it easy for her. Lowe's put us in touch with this unfortunate installation service to schedule the appt and my mom took 3 hours of her day to wait for it. The installation person claimed they went to Lowe's and "couldn't find" the dishwasher. I already paid for the dishwasher and everything and all this person had to do was go to customer service and ask for it. It was at the store and Lowe's customer services sent me a photo of it and everything. This person just did not feel like doing their job today and as a result I wasted an hour on the phone while I am at work trying to figure out the problem and my mom wasted 3 hours of her day sitting around waiting for nothing and ruined the Christmas surprise I got for my mom. We would have been better off installing it ourselves rather than deal with this level of unprofessionalism and incompetence. We confirmed the dishwasher was at the Lowe's with 2.5 hours remaining in the installation window and the Lowe's store is 9 mins drive from my moms. The installer could have easily gone back and handled it if it was indeed an issue of "not finding the dishwasher." I doubt this person even went to the Lowe's to begin with. read more

Extreme incompetence, malpractice even. I bought a Bosch dishwasher from Lowes, which was available right away. Then I heard from MegaPlumbing- almost a full month before they'd install it (and scheduling was a pain). I decided to wait, and they showed up and installed the dishwasher. It seemed to work with the quick test. But then when we went to run a full cycle after they left, the washer went completely dead mid-cycle. I checked breakers and they were okay. 24 hours later, it turned back on, but as soon as I started it, it died again. It did this a few times. It seemed I had a defective dishwasher, which of course isn't MegaPlumbing's fault. But we were going out of town so I didn't want to replace it right away. I arranged to return the dishwasher for a refund (which I still haven't received from Lowes but that's another problem), and Lowes scheduled MegaPlumbing to come out and remove it. Well, they removed the dishwasher, but left the inlet to our garbage disposal wide open. After doing a load of dishes in the sink we now had the cabinet filled with water and pouring out into the floor and room below. I've yet to determine the extent of this damage. Fortunately we had a plumber there for a different job, and he went in and put a cap on the open inlet. He couldn't believe it he'd never seen anything like that before. When the new dishwasher arrived, we called the 2nd plumber to do the install. Since I was getting the same model, we left all the hookups in place from the removed dishwasher. And ... the new one wasn't working. So we opened up the electrical junction box that Mega Plumbing installed. The ground and common wires were backwards and the hot wire wasn't even connected! It was just touching the connector- very easily disconnected by any movement (not to mention extremely dangerous). This level of incompetence from two technicians is mind boggling. I will not let MegaPlumbing touch anything in my house ever again. read more

Apparently Mega Pluming is the only installer Lowe's works with anymore which is unfortunate. The dishwasher arrived and I received a 3 hr window from Mega for my delivery & installation of the dishwasher and measurements for additional appliances. I waited with my contractor from 8:30AM until Noon. The company no-showed and no-called. I called them on the tail end of the window and their guy couldn't get ahold of the person who was supposed to be delivering and installing my appliance. I was then asked to stick around for another couple of hours (because I apparently don't have to work and have plenty of hours in the day to wait for installers). I opted to reschedule. It's one thing to be late, I get it, but pick up a phone and call and let me know. Not a good first impression. When they came back a week later, they claimed they needed to cut into my wall/cabinet to get the dishwasher to fit. I ended up having them hook up the dishwasher and leave it and had to have my builder finish the dishwaser install. My builder was less than impressed as it took them 5 minutes without having to make additional cuts. They were surprised that the installation company's people were licensed as it wasn't a hard job. Further, during this call Mega Plumbing also took measurements for the oven and cooktop install. The guy doing the measurements kept asking how much I paid for the cooktop and kept telling me "his friend had an extra one and could get it for me cheaper..." essentially trying to side sell around Lowe's (who I had already paid and was paying Mega for the delivery and install). The conversation with that installer was awkward and he was extremely pushy while clearly running some sort of side hustle. I reported this to Lowe's management who were less than happy, though I'm not sure they ever engaged Mega Plumbing about it. When the guys came on a different trip yesterday to install the oven/microwave they were PISSED that my builder was there to make the cuts as they expected them to be done in advance from the measurements taken prior. After the last trip I learned not to trust Mega, their people (or their measurements). Further, Mega's guys switched from english to spanish to chat between themselves and comment on me and liberally insult me (basically calling me an asshole and venting about how my contractor making cuts is going to take an hour or more) not realizing my contractor and I both speak spanish. In both cases, they failed to take away the old appliances. I had to go into Lowes to get those charges removed and I'm done with Mega. I cancelled my installation of my last appliance with Lowe's today just so I don't have to deal with them anymore. I'd rather not have a cooktop for two or three more weeks than deal with their BS anymore. Mega Pluming is a terrible company, seriously horrific, and it's clear that they don't care. They know they're Lowe's only vendor in the DC Metro area and they can do what they want without fear of repercussions because Lowe's customers are stuck using them. This is what a lack of competition does. Hopefully someone else sees this review and doesn't make the same mistake I did using Mega Plumbing through Lowe's. If I could give them a rating lower than 1 star I would. They're seriously BAD. read more

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I would rate them less than 1. Their installers have unethical practices of lying on the customer. They were contracted by Lowe's to install a dishwasher in my home. The installer removed my old dishwasher from my home prior to ensuring that the new dishwasher would fit. There was an issue with the installation of the new dishwasher. A supervisor was FaceTime regarding the matter and advised the installer "It's whatever the customer says ." so I instructed them to return the new dishwasher and to bring my old dishwasher back into my home. Those guy left my home with both the new and old dishwasher. Additionall, they fail to reconnect the water line which is causing water to leak in my cabinet and I am Without hot water to my faucet. Nor did the convey to me that they had no intention of bringing the dishwasher back. I've made several attempts to resolve this matter with Low's and Mega Plumming. I spoke with Phillip and Denny of Mega Plumbing on two separate occasions both were inconsiderate and Denny was just unprofessional. Denny found humor in asking did I want my old disherwasher back 4 days later. Several times I call and requested to speak with a manager/supervisor I was told they're in a meeting!! BE CAREFUL. You have been warned. Delivery was scheduled between 11am and 2pm. Driver showed up at 10:30am(have proof with Ring doorbell video) and I was not available(in the shower). He pulled away immediately. I called back at 11:01am, received his Voice Mail. Called Lowe's, who then was in contact with the driver and HE refused to come back and said I had to reschedule. The delivery window was from 11am to 2pm NOT whenever this useless driver thought was convenient for HIM, and then penalized the customer for his incompetence. Spoke with his Manager and they verified this driver has done this before in the past. Mega plumbing crew Hose and Diago did a excellent job installing our new wall oven and microwave combo. They were skilled installers and cleaned up after the job.The first install date was cancelled when Mega went to Lowes and said the oven was not at the store. The install time window was between 2 & 5 pm. I did not get a call from Mega until around 4:30 pm telling me they were not coming because the oven was not at Lowes . We then called Lowes and they said that the oven combo had been at the had arrived at the store on Sept. 9 and was tagged for our job. I had to call them back because there was standing water left after the 1st and only time I used it. A technician came out said I needed a new one. He left me with the impression that they would bring another one out. Well, Lowe's had no idea that I needed a replacement. Now today they call and say that I won't get it installed until the 18th. When the technician Alan G. arrived (he called earlier than the proposed long window given to me--Yay!), in discussing the garbage disposal, I mentioned I was waiting on a dishwasher installation. Alan called Lowe's and coordinated the dishwasher installation for me as well. He was early, knowledgeable and efficient. He was very professional, left no traces of him being there other than two great, efficient installations. I highly recommend this company. Mega Plumbing was contracted through Lowe's to install a dishwasher. When they arrived they told me that they needed to replace the water shutoff under the sink and I agreed. They couldn't find a valve on their truck and told me they needed to go to the store to get one and would call when they were on the way back. After an hour and a half I called their company to find out when they would be back. The customer service representative had a hard time trying to get in touch with the installer. Once they finally got in touch with them, they told me that they should be back within 45 minutes. One hour later they had still not arrived and I managed to get in touch with the technician on the number he originally called from. He told me they were finishing up with another customer and would be back with me in around 30 minutes. 4 1/2 hours after they first arrived and 4 hours after they left to get a valve they finally decided return to the original job. The excuse they gave was that they had to keep on schedule for their other jobs which is why they moved on to other customers instead of returning to finish the job. The nearest hardware store where they could have gotten the part is 5 minutes away. Additionally, they tried to convince me that they needed to extend the water line and drain line for an additional fee. I pointed out that they supplied hoses were already 8 feet long and longer than their proposed replacement part. They're installers completed Lowe's install of dishwasher and oven range. After install the dishwasher was determined to be defective as it would not drain. I inspected installers work after they left and found plug had not been removed to garbage disposal thus not allowing dishwasher to drain into disposal. Installers also had not capped tailpipe drain under sink to old dishwasher connection. I rectified both issues, problem resolved and dishwasher functions correctly to date. As a side note the oven failed to operate after initial install. They dismantled the stove interior for LP conversion and I suspect it was something they did or did not do that caused failure. A gas leak was present after installation so they replaced new gas line (new out of the box) that they had just installed. It took them 3 weeks to reschedule install of new stove after it was determined it to was defective by mega plumbing. Installers lacked courtesy, professionalism and competency. They will never set foot in my home again. read more
