Stopped in for breakfast last week. The food was pretty good but the service was amazing. Jasmine is a credit to your company. I've rarely experienced better service in a restaurant ever. Her upbeat energy and positive attitude was refreshing so early in the morning. She kept well stocked on cream and sugar for my coffee which can be tough because I like a lot of both. First time visiting Mega and was really pleased. Quality of the food is right in line with the prices, so pretty tasty and not expensive. The service was great. Went here Friday night - because it was the only place open at the late hour. The food is so overpriced and tasteless . They don't even have homemade ranch . I don't know how this disgusting place stays in business. They were clearly understaffed - which wasn't the fault of the waitstaff - but they weren't apologetic for the long waits in between check ins and refills. Literally though the worst Coney Island I've ever been to. How are you going to charge $7-$8 for a Pita that doesn't even come with fries or real ranch? Cmon. Get with the times Mega and stop being greedy. Lower your prices, get better quality food and stop serving Walmart brand ranch to your customers !!!!! read more

Stopped by tonight for some food. Made my order through the drive through. My order was $12.06. I handed Rude Manager Jennifer with a rag on her head $2.06 cash and my credit card. She stated she is not supposed to split tender at drive through. I just looked at her. She hand me my payment instruments back. I pulled around to walk in. I repeated what she told me and asked to pay inside. She stated she rather not serve me and I'm rude. I asked for her name and the name of the gm. She asked me to leave and stated she would call the police. I'll I'm asking for at this time is her manager name and the number other that the store number. She was rude and this situation could have went another way. Jennifer as a mgmt is unprofessional and can't count. Isnt money money in any form. I normally patronize Mega weekly. I ordered a carryout of a simple grilled cheese and fries. After waiting a half hour in line,behind 3 other orders, the Grilled cheese sandwich was sitting so long, it was soaking wet. I specifically asked if it had been sitting. After I asked, They put the fries in another box, but they were also soggy. Even the pickle was warm. I won't call ahead any more. Ordered a Greek salad and lemon rice soup. $13.00. Picked up my order, no soup in the bag. Went back in and asked for the soup. Apparently it's all out. They gave me three other choices. Picked potato. Opened up the soup container at work, maybe tomato burger? Stuff pepper soup? Not sure. Can't eat ground beef so that went in the trash. We went there tonight and ordered and waited politely for them to forget the condiments ........ forget my fries ....... then some worker comes outside to tell me she put the curly fries In The bag ....... that's fine ma'am but I mean the fries I paid for with my burger ......... bite the burger and after we waited 30 minutes it's cold and her answer is she doesn't know what to tell me ....... it was late and I was tired so I didn't feel like arguing ...... but again ...... So this started out fairly new normal until we ordered our drinks, but it's just one drink right a water! So after waiting let's say 20 min someone finally asked what I was drinking ‍! We ordered foods awesome and will completely make up for it?!? Party of 3, 2 adults and a child. So we get 1 adults order and the child's order, 3rd adults order visibly in the window and up. 25 min later 1adult over half way done and child saying I'm finished. My food finally comes and like I said it's fantastic as always, except no, no it's not I'm not done. I'll tell you why the waitress/manager overheard me telling my guests I was on the fence about this place and they just pushed me off. She came over making excuses and blaming the food/cooks! I told her to please excuse herself that I just wanted to finish my meal so I could leave. She continued to make excuses and finally when bringing our bill knocked $10 off a $50 dollar bill for their negligence. I'm ADDICTED to breakfast. Mega is great because it's open 24 hours, they even have a drive thru and delivery available. The portions are pretty big. I have only ever ordered breakfast from there and have not been let down since. The staff has always been nice too. read more

This place is one of the few establishments in this part of Flint that is open 24 hours, and I go here all the time with friends late at night. I love their corned beef sammiches and chili fries, and their burgers are absolutely HUGE - the mega bacon cheeseburger or whatever it's called is massive and huge and intimidating. Wait staff is medium to quite good usually - never been disappointed. The place is clean and is loaded with touches of old American 50s culture - men's room is covered with classic car ads, not sure about the women's. XD I like this place - it has never let me down and prices are reasonable. When you walk in, don't be surprised to see Elvis' torso staring at you :D read more

I'm really struggling with how to rate this place. Two-stars seems to indicate it's crap but three stars indicates I'll go back... First of all, this place is pretty unique and cool, especially in a city like Flint. You just don't see the typical, east coast aluminum diners out in the middle of Michigan. Add to it a motorcycle on display next to the counter top/bar and you've got something pretty interesting. The place is clean. The waitresses are friendly and fast. I came in around 11:15 on a Wednesday night and there were plenty of people there and even more servers. They seem to be ready at all times just in case they get a wave of customers. But the food isn't very good. The chili on my fries was minced soup and I prefer mine with big chunks. I realize this is a preference, but it was also bland. And the cheese on top was just nacho fake stuff. The fries underneath it all were standard, and it all added up to a waste of calories. I ordered what amounted to a BLT with a hamburger patty, mayo and cheese. The burgers are obviously prefab and frozen. And while the toppings were fresh - I don't know - I just left disappointed. It's not bad food at all. It's just not good either. I'd rather hit up a good fast food joint for late night fare like Steak and Shake or Sonic. I called in an order and when I got there 30 mins later it was still not ready. When I got there I went through drive through and no one came to the window after assisting me at the intercom. I had to call to get someone to come to the window. Despite all this I still gave a tip and after arriving home I noticed both of my orders are completely wrong, idk how it happened because the person on the phone repeated everything back to me fine, not mad or anything just really disappointed by you guys. read more

This restaurant is pretty much a fail-safe for late night dining in Flint. The veggie omelet is delicious!! So are the Flint coney dog, grilled chicken salad, and chili curly fries (they will make that upon request). Malts and shakes are also very good. Fast, friendly service. My wife and I are true fans of Mega Classic Diner, and we eat here regularly. Everything we've tried from the menu has been tasty, and the portions are generous. The price is appropriate, and the staff are very friendly. As almost all of the reviews say, Mega is a great late night spot. The food is just okay. Absolutely nothing special or unique about it. You can get the exact same meal for the exact same price at any diner in town. The ambiance is nice; a classic 50s diner complete with a real Indian motorcycle to gaze at. The staff changes weekly, due to the NUTBAG of an owner. I've been there several times when he is there, and he will SCREAM at those poor waitresses right in front of everyone. Nasty, nasty man. However, the waitresses are always friendly and accommodating. I come here very often to catch up with friends, usually in large groups, and usually in the middle of the night. I'll give 'em a nod to the kitschy old school diner vibe, but wasn't impressed with the booth we were sitting at (it was busted and rocky) and the food was fine, classic diner type stuff but nothing to write home about. Wasn't super hungry when I stopped in so I just got an English muffin (which they buttered for me, why oh whyyyy do restaurants do this!?) --I'd try the omelette if I went back with an appetite. My husband and I were driving thru the area and just happened to stop at this restaurant on a Monday afternoon. WOW! What an awesome find!! The decor is fabulous 50's-60's galore...SO BEAUTIFUL! The soundtrack playing in the background while you dine is the perfect compliment to your surroundings. We experienced excellent customer service from our waitress and the manager.The staff was fabulously attentive without being obtrusive or annoying.Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. What is normally the best corned beef hash with two eggs on top (never greasy) was not so good yesterday. This is pretty much always my order! The Flint diner must have a new cook who is learning. The food was greasy. There was lots of corned beef, but very little hash browns...just not up to their normal standard. Ordered a mushroom Swiss burger deluxe and a side of fries. Got my meal, cut it in half to eat it, finished half and then realized that there was hair hanging out of the other half. Not just a strand or two but a bunch of it. Pointed this out to one of the wait staff who got our waitress who sort of acted like it was no big deal. She offered to get me another burger, but at that time i was so disgusted I declined. She did knock the hair burger off my bill. I should have taken a pic of it and posted everywhere I could. The food is fine, coney island standard. However, DO NOT bring your kids here. I witnessed the MANAGER named "Sparkle" on late shift get into an argument over tips with a much smaller female waitress, then 10 seconds into the argument, Sparkle sucker punched the other waitress, then another bigger woman (seemed related) came over and they both proceeded to kick and punch the smaller waitress in the face. From what i overheard it started with Sparkle stealing the small waitresses tips. Then the girls face was bleeding out of both eyes and Sparkle told her she was fired on the way out the door after just now jumping her with her friend, cops came, sparkle and her friend blamed the smaller girl, cops didnt care, told girl to leave, then Sparkle went back to work...still works there as far as i know. So long story short...bad stuff happens at this restaurant all the time. If you arent carrying or know martial arts i wouldnt go there after dark, especially with your kids. Not safe.
