For a steak place, I would have expected the cook on it to be perfect. The first round was tender and cooked well to my request of medium. The second round was more well done and chewy. The mushrooms were okay. Probably wouldn't get them again.

I love this place and their speciality. The place is designed and decorated very nicely and there is a good amount of seating. Service is great. The servers and bartenders are very welcoming and friendly. The food tastes good and I especially like their brunch. For 35$ you get bottomless drinks, a starter, bread, and a main entree. It's hard to get this kinda price in the city anymore.

Awesome brunch thank you so much for the bday surprise. This place is so great!!! I created my bday. The steak and eggs are great. The drinks are great. The serve is outstanding.

It's SO, SO good at Medium Rare. It has a simple menu of bread, salad, and steak frites with an amazing sauce. For many, it is perfect. (Note that there is a vegan option of a mushroom with tomato sauce.) The service is terrific. Shout out to our server Tabitha. There are five different dessert options which are large and delicious. I would caution that you know that the restaurant in Bethesda is really loud (but great if you love the loud 80's and 90's bands) and very tight/crowded. Make sure you get a reservation because on a Saturday night the walk-ins could only sit outside under the heat lamps or vie for one of the four bar seats.

The place was ok and our server that night was not that great. The concept seems weird but for many it's a whole vibe so if its your thing go for it. The fries in my opinion could've been way better if thats gonna be one of your main dishes but the steak was good but I was not a fan of the sauce and woukd definitely ask for it on the side as a first timer. I would still recommend it to try something new and to form your own opinion

So the overall experience was about a three star, what brought me to this? What's the combination of a few things. Let's start with the ambience, it was nice, quiet, welcoming, but very very restricted of space. I really wish that they would have sat us at a bigger table that had a little bit more over, the service was great, they were very attentive and ready to suggest items as well as recommend different choices. When the food came out, it look great but some plates were hot and others cold. Unfortunately, I was the one with the cold. When I requested for my meal to be remade the server, gracefully apologize, and placed that request. When I receive my food, the second time it was still incorrect, it was overcooked plus the portions were small, but I was told that this was because it was brunch and not dinner which I guess it's understandable

If you're into bottomless mimosas for brunch with your friends you might want to give Medium Rare a try. Don't expect tacky IG worthy decor though. I opted for the Steak and Eggs with your side of fries. The brunch set also includes a choice of salad, Greek yogurt, or a fruit bowl. Screw Drivers, Mimosas, and Bloody Mary, for your non-alcoholic friends there's always orange juice. Best part yet no time limit. The staff make sure you have your drinks refilled in time when asked.

I admit that this might be a harsher review than some others as I am a huge fan of the creators of this concept (L'Entrecôte de Paris and Café de Paris - Chez Boubier (Geneva)). Medium Rare's execution of the idea is good on all fronts except the most important one - the sauce. While they may make the sauce themselves, it still tastes like it comes out of a can. It did not rock my world. The service was okay but we only saw our waiter at the beginning and the end of our meal with no check in during which was a little surprising. There are many recipes out there for sauces similar to that of L'Entrecôte and Medium Rare should think about offering their own version as an option on the menu. Just my two cents.

The only thing on the menu (steak and fries). The above item is sliced portobello mushrooms with a tomato sauce.

Always a good high quality meal. We've come many times and always enjoy the food. The sauce makes the meal.

Do you have a bar to eat at too?

Yes. It's small, only 5 chairs.

Sounds like there are no options for vegetarians? Disappointing!

It is a steakhouse.

My son wanted a kids burger with no cheese and extra pickles, they had to remake it because it had cheese and then it came without pickles. We had to get attention to get some finally. Some of the servers are super great, and some are not so much. When a burger without certain ingredients was ordered, one waiter rudely said "then what do you want on the burger" however, the burger still had plenty of ingredients listed, that the person ordering didn't ask to be left off. It's difficult to order a plain burger with the only burger on the menu has bacon and cheese. The food is standard fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. The chef pays attention to allergens. I've tried the shrimp roll, the Caesar salad, and the turkey club. All of these can be made gluten free, although the menu doesn't denote it. Another in my party enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the burger. Being inside the Marriott, it is a little overpriced, but the food is good, just hit or miss with service. Great for a quick bite if you're staying in the Marriott.

Everything I tried was fantastic, from the perfectly prepared chicken kebabs to the cod with farro. The blackberry vodka cocktail was beautiful and delicious, and the saffron steamed milk with ginger for dessert was absolute perfection. The entire concept feels current, welcoming, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. Can't wait to return the next time I'm back in town for meetings!

While I thought the menu was limited, it does the job. I wanted Branzino and had that in my mind the whole day but was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu. Welp, y'all know I love a burger. Service was fantastic! Ambiance feels like stepping into a French‑Mediterranean boutique café that someone elevated into a luxury dining room. It's warm, intimate, and softly glamorous without trying too hard. Let's get into it! Chicken Kabob - Seasoned perfectly over rice! Really good! I had some mild expectations when arriving at Barrel & Crow which were quickly met and exceeded. Our party of four enjoyed a truly delightful and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, our server--Dan--delivered five-star service. He was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering. His knowledge of the menu and thorough description of the dishes was also notable. Some were his favorites, so he really described them (all) with mucho gusto. It was like we were guests in his home. We basically ended up ordering literally everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot-on. We started with the fried green tomatoes and calamari. Our smorgasbord of entrées included the lamb bolognese (my favorite, though sadly not the one I ordered), a beautifully tender lamb shank, spiced shrimp and grits, and a deeply flavorful andouille and seafood gumbo. Each dish was thoughtful and well prepared, though the shrimp and grits were a bit savorier than I'm accustomed to. Dessert didn't disappoint either. We savored the chocolate torte and also their signature sweet beignets. They were the perfect ending to an already stellar meal.We left behind so many other tempting menu items and looking forward to our next visit.

Not worth the $6 price but worked for soaking up the shukshuka gravy. We had one beet salad that was very nice. We ordered the beignets at the end and they were just fair. We would still go back to try other things!

I'm a bit of a sucker for fried seafood but I do think it was overly coated with breading. Service was good, the food came out timely and hot. Started with the Caesar salad appetizer and it was completely bland. No flavor at all. Then I had the French dip with the thin fries. I specifically asked for the meat to be well done and lean with no fat. The waitress said that wouldn't be a problem, but the sandwich came out not well done, fatty, and pretty tasteless. The horseradish sauce also had almost no flavor whatsoever. I don't even know why they call it horseradish honestly. The au jus seemed weak and watered down too, or maybe just old. Either way, it wasn't good. Overall the meal just felt really off compared to what this restaurant used to be. Maybe it was an off night, I don't know, but it definitely wasn't the experience I expected. Not sure if I'll go back again. Unfortunately in Montgomery County there really aren't that many great options left either.
