I have loved watching it evolve over the years,…read moreespecially the restaurant, which started as a small offering and has now really come into its own. We had to feed a crowd at home recently and Middle Eastern cuisine suited everyone's fancy, so naturally Aladdin's was the call. Using the online ordering system was simple, and the food was ready right on time. My only feedback is that the items don't all clearly describe what you get or how the dish comes, and so I added sauces thinking they came on the side but really came on top, and paid upcharges for things like pita, thinking they didn't come with it but then finding out they did and I just added a lot of extra. I ordered a few shawarma plates, an Aladdin combo, and hummus, falafel, and babaganoush appetizers. Everything was delicious, but some items were a bit surprising. The hummus is was a bit on the loose side, and we actually thought it was tahini from the look, aroma, and flavor. My guess is the batch was made with a bit more tahini than normal. Still good, but surprising. The Aladdin's Combo didn't look as pictured on the website, where it looks like a very sizable portion of meat, with chicken in a reddish marinade. Though the chicken looked similar to shawarma, it was clearly different in flavor, and both it and the koobideh were delicious. I ordered extra meat and had expected it to be outrageously large based on the menu photo of the standard order, but what came was more similar to the photo itself. It was still plenty to share, but I paid additional and didn't seem like I got that much more. The regular portions here are large, like easily feed two people sized. We ordered one plate per person, but in reality could've split them all. Again, I love this spot and chalk this up to learning. I think some folks could get frustrated with this experience, and I def did to an extent, but I enjoy this too much to gripe.

You can build a bowl, salad, wrap, or anything in between. I was so impressed with the selection of toppings and proteins! You can do chicken, gyro meat, or beef, and load it up with all kinds of Mediterranean treats. I ordered a salad with chicken. The portion size is huge! I added feta cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes (those come together), peppers, Kalamata olives, and red onion. Then they allow you to choose a few sauces, and I went with cilantro sauce and a Greek vinaigrette. I was shocked by how fresh-tasting everything was, how huge the portion size was, and how affordable it was. This place is a game-changer, and I wish there were locations all over. I was so excited to try this place after reading so many great reviews, which made our experience…read moreeven more disappointing. When we arrived, we were seated immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant was busy, but no busier than many other places we've visited. After being seated, however, we waited... and waited... and waited for someone to even acknowledge us. Nothing. During that time, we watched our server attend to several other tables, clear dishes, grab items, and process payments. We also noticed two employees standing near the register. One of them looked over at our table multiple times, so it was obvious they knew we were there. Still, no one came over to greet us or let us know someone would be with us shortly. As we looked around, we realized we were the only Asian family in the restaurant. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling overlooked, uncomfortable, and wondering if we were being treated differently. It was an awful feeling. Eventually, our server came to our table but never apologized for the long wait or acknowledged that we'd been sitting there unattended. By then, the experience had already left a bad impression. I was there with my husband and our three boys, and it was difficult trying to explain why we seemed to be the only table being ignored. Will we come back? NO I'm sure this restaurant has plenty of customers and won't miss one family, but every guest deserves to feel welcomed and valued. A simple greeting or apology would have gone a long way. As for the food, it was good. But good food alone doesn't make up for poor service or for making guests feel like they don't belong. Dining out is about the entire experience, and unfortunately, ours was overwhelmingly disappointing. I'm typically a very generous tipper because I appreciate good service. However, when a restaurant makes my family feel out of place and overlooked, it's hard to justify leaving anything. Respect and hospitality should be extended to every customer.

First off, the location is just plain cool. It's off a side street, inside an office or apartment building (not sure!) and built in under a stairwell that's painted all black. You order through a small window cut into a black wall, and the experience just hits different. The menu is tiny but mighty. I ordered the falafel, which comes with a housemade sauce of your choice, a scoop of the housemade hummus and a selection of delicious pickles (Watch out for the cukes. They spicy!). The falafel are sizeable, fried super crispy, but a bit more dense than those I've had before. These are substantial and a beefy meal, or ample shareable for a few. They're also a super value at $8. I also had the Crimson tea. The Sichuan peppercorn and sweetness were a great surprise. I'm def coming back soon.

Now that's just my opinion about the food someone else might feel differently and that's ok. What really bothered me and the main reason I won't be giving this place a second chance is because of what happened while I was there. I'd never been here so decided to try it. We chose to sit in the court yard because even though there was trash and it wasn't clean and furniture was just stacked on top of each other in the corner of the entrance it was quieter for me then inside. And it looked ok plus it was a nice day to sit outside. Well even all that wasn't the problem. The part that bothered me was how a situation was handled. A homeless guy entered the courtyard and was really drugged and under the influence and he was covered in feces and he was very badly injured and was nodding off near me going in and out. He looked like he was going to overdose and then he wakes up and walks over to me and asks me for food. I said yes. Which I truly had no problem giving him food if that's what he needed. But his behavior left me and other uneasy feeling and so I had my knife out hidden just in case. A family of 10 was sitting next to us and felt so uncomfortable they went inside. So I go inside to order what the guy wanted and asked him to please wait on the side walk before I went in to order. So I get to the register and I explain to the cashier that there is a very drugged guy nodding off in the courtyard and that I didn't mind buying him food but could he give it to him and take the chance to tell him to please stay out of the courtyard and on the side walk. I explain I was disabled prier to this when I ordered for myself earlier and I am a 5"1 female and felt uneasy going back to the homeless guy alone. I asked the cashier if he could give the guy his food and ask him to please stay out of the courtyard and on the sidewalk. The cashier said no to me cause he didn't feel comfortable going up to a guy who was on drugs and acting the way he was. I told him another reason I had bought this guy food was so that he would wait outside which he did and this guy couldn't even do anything to help me. So your customer doesn't feel safe and you can't ask this person to please go on the sidewalk cause you are scared? Also i don't know what reason they have for not having the corner of the courtyard clean and trash picked up. This isn't my business and I did what I could to help since I saw the family feel uncomfortable and no one at THE FIX or any other restaurant there was doing anything? So if you don't care about a customers concerns I don't care to support you. I could honestly have overlooked the fact that it wasn't the best falafel I myself have ever had but I can't support a business who doesn't care about their costumers. Edited After speaking to someone at The Fix: I called to speak to someone about this. Apparently the guy has autism. Ok well then idk I'm disabled I have autism and I don't know what to say about that. I am not mad if this is the case but it doesn't change the experience I had. I am understanding being legally disabled myself but I wish i would of been able to speak to someone else about it who could of helped me with this concern. The guy I spoke to on the phone informed me I could have spoken to any of the businesses as there are multiple and I could of asked any one else for help and they would of helped me. But I went to THE FIX NOT ANY OF THE OTHER ESTABLISHMENT. So I feel it was THE FIXs responsibility to help me since I was their customer. Well all that aside once again i dont know why the courtyard is dirty and there is trash and chairs and tables piled on top of each other in the corner of the entrance. Your courtyard is a really nice feature and maybe you guys should keep it nice and clean. Like I said it was nice outside but not clean. Go here if you'd like this was my experience and there for I won't be returning. Sorry but you can go check it out yourself if you wish.
