Saw a movie at the Legends, never get those two hours back. But the day was saved by an incredible coconut chicken korma at 7-Spices! We also had butter naan and chicken corn soup. Service was excellent by two servers. They suggested medium spice level which was perfect. The korma was great on flavor and not just with the amount of hot peppers. The blend of spices in the korma was very tasty. The chicken corn soup in a broth with fresh corn, which was the thing that made it stand out. Pro tip: don't order your go-to Indian dishes. 7-Spices' strong suit are South Indian specialties, such as dosas and biriyani. I've ordered takeout twice and dined in once. The Vijawada Chicken Biriyani is a must order. You can order different spice levels, but the very hot will give you a run for your money in the best possible way. I'm also a huge fan of the Masala Dosa. The Chicken 65 appetizer is also a great way to start the meal. Stopped in after a movie for a light dinner. We got the Garlic Naan, Chana Masala, and some Chicken Sukka. It comes with a small bowl of rice. We got the Chana with medium spice and it wasn't that spicey, just a little kick. We will try a little hotter next time. The flavor was good. Ordered the vijayawada biryani family pack and what a disappointment! There is a mountain of rice and a few crumbs of chicken. We felt like we are paying for a big rice cooker of rice with no protein. Granted that I used the $10 coupon given to me, maybe that's why there is hardly any chicken in the biryani. You guys need to do better. Don't advertise a family pack and filled it with all rice and no protein. Or Just do a well balanced of protein and rice and charge more. My goal is to be fair and specific, and this one lands right in the middle for me. The food overall was very good. The goat biryani was flavorful and well cooked, the tandoori chicken was juicy and had a nice char, and both the butter chicken and tikka masala were rich, comforting, and satisfying. Those dishes are the main reason I'd still recommend this place. That said, a few things brought the experience down. I ordered a masala tea and was surprised to see the cup filled just a little over halfway. I asked the server if that was because refills were offered, and she said no, that's just how they usually serve it. We also ordered the gobi Manchurian, and that was another letdown. It felt underserved with onion fillers and not nearly enough cauliflower. If you ordered it as a standalone dish, it wouldn't be filling at all in my opinion. The biggest concern for me was safety. My young daughter needed to use the restroom and slipped and fell because the floor was extremely slippery. I don't know if it was grease, moisture, or cleaning residue, but as a parent, that's something I take seriously. Restrooms should be safe, especially for kids. Overall, the food itself is strong and worth trying. With better portion consistency, serving standards, and attention to safety, this could easily be a 5 star rated spot. Three stars feels fair. Still my favorite Indian food in Reno/Sparks! I recently tried and fell in love with the Madras Tomato Soup. I'm not really a tomato soup fan but this is hands down the very best! It's silky, creamy, amazing flavors with bits of delicious chopped garlic. I also ordered the Vijayawada Chicken Dosa. I've never been to an Indian restaurant that will serve Dosa's for takeaway because it's hard to package, 7 Spices has solved the mystery. Instead of the normal shape they fold it to fit perfectly in a to-go container, and it is delicious. It's served with tasty Sambar, Coconut Chutney and Masala sauce on the side. My only wish would be that the owner add Raita as something you could pay extra for to add to any dish for online ordering. I always get my food super spicy and sometimes it's a little spicier than the last time and the addition of Raita would solve that. If you haven't tried this place do it now, you won't be disappointed! read more

Finally came in after ordering take out and having tried them at other events. The restaurant is very large with a full bar against the entry wall the seating floor is big and open. I liked the decor but it felt a bit sparse in there. This might be some of the best gobi Manchurian in the greater Reno area. The seven spice chicken was pretty good but nothing spectacular (like the gobi). Another slight miss for me was the stuffed pepper dish, mirchi. I liked it but why was there no sauce that comes with it? I love having a nice Indian restaurant conveniently located at Legends right near the Galaxy theater. They also offer some Chinese dishes that I hope to try in the future. We were seated immediately, their service was great, and the inferior is nice, clean, and modern. Their samosas are probably the best I've had in Reno. You can tell they are made from scratch in house and the puff pastry is cooked perfectly. The butter chicken is also extremely good and had one of the best sauces I've tasted in the country. The garlic Naan is mandatory with any meal and was fresh and buttery. The chicken biryani was quite good, one of the better ones in Reno, but didn't blow me away as I felt it could be a little more, but I would certainly eat it again. Amazing food! Everything was so flavorful and seasoned well. Especially the Chicken Tikka Masala! It was the best I've had in this area. The naans we got (garlic and butter) were light and flaky. I loved the saag paneer as well. I also ordered the Gulab Jamun which I wasn't a huge fan of. I've never had this dish before but it tasted like a doughnut ball soaked in sugar syrup. The server was very attentive and came to refill our water and check in on us multiple times. There was very little wait when we were done with our food. They also allow apple pay. The ambiance was great. There were multiple large windows that allowed lots of natural light to come in. There were also a few tvs playing sports as well. Paneer Tikka Masala was loaded with paneer and was creamy and flavorful. Chicken noodles, from the Chinese wok section of the menu, had bite-size chicken pieces and lots of veggies and thin noodles. Chicken Chettinadu was thick and full of spices. Everything tasted great. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Restaurant is clean and open, with an industrial vibe. Noise level was on the loud side. Would be a good place to eat outside when it gets warmer out. Food came out pretty quick at first. We got the tomato soup which was delish. Had tiny bits of garlic in it. The vijayawada chicken dosa was tasty. Dosa was crispy and came with a couple dips. The only bummer was that we waited A LONG TIME for the uthappam to come out. Probably another 10-15 min after we got the dosa and the restaurant wasn't that busy when we went. By the time we got it, we didn't really want it by then and it was just ok and underwhelming compared to their dosa. I'd definitely go back to try their other entrees though! read more

Very good Indian food is a good location. I would recommend this restaurant to friends. My only criticism is that our waiter neglected to ask us what spice level we wanted, and the food was spicier than I would have preferred. The restaurant was not busy on this Super Bowl Sunday evening, which was fine with the group. This place is a large space set with Industrial lighting and nice wooden table tops, it was Modern and wide open. I will say that the menu is very large which made it difficult for me to decide, everything sounded Yummy. My friends decided really quickly and I pondered for a while. We shared everything , ordering three dishes; the Paneer Saag, Lamb Tikka Masala and the Mixed Vegetable Kadai. Along with Garlic Naan and I ordered a small Tajmahal beer . I will say the food took awhile but I understand they make everything fresh to order. As we dug in we were Oo ing and ahh ing as tasted our food. Everything was rich in flavor and our Lamb in the Tikka Masala was tender and delicious with no gamey taste. The women servers were on top of it and we never had an empty water glass. This was our first experience of 7- Spices and it did not disappoint us. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and pleasantly led into a modern and roomy dining area. It all looked very clean and the noise level was low. The 7-Spices Dosa was brought out first with 4 dipping choices. It was light and crunchy filled with spices and potatoes. Very good. We had an exquisite dinner here. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very spacious. They have a full bar and beer on tap. We started with draft beer, mango lassi and samosa appetizer. The appetizer was delicious and my husband loved the lassi. For dinner we had a chicken sizzling platter, chicken tiki masala and a dosa. Again everything was delicious and I highly recommend a dosa-so good! For dessert we had the gulab jamun-fried dough balls in syrup which my husband loved. Service was great by entire staff. Really excited to see another new restaurant, especially with Indian food! Located near Scheels, it's the perfect location after shopping or popping in after a walk on the Marina. Overall, the restaurant itself is clean, well-lit, lots of areas for large groups, and a good casual vibe that gives diners ease. But the flavors were good, however, the seasoning could be marinated in the meat for a bit longer. The fire naan was phenomenal, it had the spice we love. My hariyali chicken though was predominately dark meat, but when I say dark, I mean it was dark pink/red. I checked if it was cooked all the way, and it was. However, the cuts could have been of better quality and this may be something to improve upon. The seasoning was delicious, everything else was!
