7-Spices is hands-down my new favorite spot for Indian food in Reno. 7-Spices has a diverse menu, including dosas, biriyani, Indo-Chinese dishes, and the typical food you'd expect from an Indian restaurant. Pro tip: don't order your go-to Indian dishes. 7-Spices' strong suit are South Indian specialties, such as dosas and biriyani. I've ordered takeout twice and dined in once. The Vijawada Chicken Biriyani is a must order. You can order different spice levels, but the very hot will give you a run for your money in the best possible way. I'm also a huge fan of the Masala Dosa. The Chicken 65 appetizer is also a great way to start the meal. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala once and while it was good, there wasn't much chicken in the dish and compared to 7-Spices' other offerings, it felt lackluster. Finally came in after ordering take out and having tried them at other events. The restaurant is very large with a full bar against the entry wall the seating floor is big and open. I liked the decor but it felt a bit sparse in there. This might be some of the best gobi Manchurian in the greater Reno area. The seven spice chicken was pretty good but nothing spectacular (like the gobi). Another slight miss for me was the stuffed pepper dish, mirchi. It's amazing how the cuisine changes per region. 7 spices is the only Indian restaurant in our area that truly invoke both north and south Indian cuisine. You can pick your spice level and I think that's important to know because Indian food doesn't have to be spicy to be absolutely delicious. 7 spices dishes are very fresh clean with balanced flavor's! (A tip on Indian cuisine in general is to beware of food that has a lot of oil in it ) One of the reasons that I love 7 spices is that they cook to order through lunch and dinner service. I read one review about dinner timing talking a bit honestly it's worth the wait as your taste buds with explode with the flavor! I personally have15 years of Indian cuisine cooking in my home and I testify that it's a very time consuming for slow cook and layer flavors. My goal is to be fair and specific, and this one lands right in the middle for me. The food overall was very good. The goat biryani was flavorful and well cooked, the tandoori chicken was juicy and had a nice char, and both the butter chicken and tikka masala were rich, comforting, and satisfying. Those dishes are the main reason I'd still recommend this place. That said, a few things brought the experience down. I ordered a masala tea and was surprised to see the cup filled just a little over halfway. I asked the server if that was because refills were offered, and she said no, that's just how they usually serve it. We also ordered the gobi Manchurian, and that was another letdown. It felt underserved with onion fillers and not nearly enough cauliflower. If you ordered it as a standalone dish, it wouldn't be filling at all in my opinion. The biggest concern for me was safety. My young daughter needed to use the restroom and slipped and fell because the floor was extremely slippery. I don't know if it was grease, moisture, or cleaning residue, but as a parent, that's something I take seriously. Restrooms should be safe, especially for kids. Overall, the food itself is strong and worth trying. With better portion consistency, serving standards, and attention to safety, this could easily be a 5 star rated spot. Three stars feels fair. My new favorite Indian restaurant in the greater Reno area! We've been ordering for delivery from 7 Spices for a few months now but recently had the chance to dine in. The restaurant is right across from the Galaxy theater at Legends and is a big, airy space with tvs playing sports and music videos. We were promptly seated and offered water and menus...we already knew we wanted to some new dishes as well as the trusty usual, gobi manchurian. Of course the gobi was amazing, perfectly crispy and saucy. The 7-Spices chicken fry was deeply flavored and comforting and the mirchi was sneakily SPICY with heat that kicked in after a couple of bites... definitely would pair well with a minty sauce on the side. The Dosa is better than the Vegas versions...bigger and more potato inside served with some beautiful sauces...we absolutely loved this dish! I love having a nice Indian restaurant conveniently located at Legends right near the Galaxy theater. They also offer some Chinese dishes that I hope to try in the future. We were seated immediately, their service was great, and the inferior is nice, clean, and modern. Their samosas are probably the best I've had in Reno. You can tell they are made from scratch in house and the puff pastry is cooked perfectly. The butter chicken is also extremely good and had one of the best sauces I've tasted in the country. The garlic Naan is mandatory with any meal and was fresh and buttery. The chicken biryani was quite good, one of the better ones in Reno, but didn't blow me away as I felt it could be a little more, but I would certainly eat it again. A lot of very good reviews for this place so my friends and I had to try. Immediately upon waking in it smelled really great. Indian food has been up there on my list as favorites forever. The restaurant was not busy on this Super Bowl Sunday evening, which was fine with the group. This place is a large space set with Industrial lighting and nice wooden table tops, it was Modern and wide open. I will say that the menu is very large which made it difficult for me to decide, everything sounded Yummy. My friends decided really quickly and I pondered for a while. We shared everything , ordering three dishes; the Paneer Saag, Lamb Tikka Masala and the Mixed Vegetable Kadai. Along with Garlic Naan and I ordered a small Tajmahal beer . I will say the food took awhile but I understand they make everything fresh to order. As we dug in we were Oo ing and ahh ing as tasted our food. Everything was rich in flavor and our Lamb in the Tikka Masala was tender and delicious with no gamey taste. The women servers were on top of it and we never had an empty water glass. Amazing food! Everything was so flavorful and seasoned well. Especially the Chicken Tikka Masala! It was the best I've had in this area. The naans we got (garlic and butter) were light and flaky. I loved the saag paneer as well. I also ordered the Gulab Jamun which I wasn't a huge fan of. I've never had this dish before but it tasted like a doughnut ball soaked in sugar syrup. The server was very attentive and came to refill our water and check in on us multiple times. There was very little wait when we were done with our food. They also allow apple pay. The ambiance was great. There were multiple large windows that allowed lots of natural light to come in. There were also a few tvs playing sports as well. Usually visiting 7-Spices is a great experience. Not this Saturday (4/18). They were not very busy and it took nearly two hours! We got our Tandoori chicken (cold) and the rest of our vegetable dishes and naan an hour later only after stating we will pay for the one dish and leave. All the other tables that were seated with us/after us, completed their meals before us. The issue became clear when we were leaving. They were spending all their time supporting a large catering event, when we saw them roll out nearly a dozen chaffing dishes on carts. They need to improve how to balance and prioritize dining in customer compared to to-go and catering orders. Poor service balancing dining customers and catering. A poor business model! The food is typically good but the owners and workers need training in restaurant management and customer service. read more

We had an exquisite dinner here. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very spacious. They have a full bar and beer on tap. We started with draft beer, mango lassi and samosa appetizer. The appetizer was delicious and my husband loved the lassi. For dinner we had a chicken sizzling platter, chicken tiki masala and a dosa. Would be a good place to eat outside when it gets warmer out. Food came out pretty quick at first. We got the tomato soup which was delish. Had tiny bits of garlic in it. The vijayawada chicken dosa was tasty. Dosa was crispy and came with a couple dips. The only bummer was that we waited A LONG TIME for the uthappam to come out. Probably another 10-15 min after we got the dosa and the restaurant wasn't that busy when we went. This was our first experience of 7- Spices and it did not disappoint us. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and pleasantly led into a modern and roomy dining area. It all looked very clean and the noise level was low. The 7-Spices Dosa was brought out first with 4 dipping choices. It was light and crunchy filled with spices and potatoes. Very good. Stumbling upon this restaurant after watching a Galaxy movie was such a pleasant surprise! It was my first time trying a dosa--and it did not disappoint. The dosa was crisp and golden, filled with a flavorful spiced potato curry and served with delicious dipping sauces. Easily big enough to share between two people. They also have an impressive selection of dosas to choose from, which I'm excited to try next time. My husband ordered the chicken tikka masala and I ordered the hariyali chicken from the tandoori menu. We both wish we defined our spice levels, which we'll do the next time. But the flavors were good, however, the seasoning could be marinated in the meat for a bit longer. The fire naan was phenomenal, it had the spice we love. My hariyali chicken though was predominately dark meat, but when I say dark, I mean it was dark pink/red. I checked if it was cooked all the way, and it was. For me, I appreciate it when Indian restaurants have coconut based curry. It creates this flavor palette that is sweet, easy on the stomach, and very tasty. That is what I got with this restaurant's shrimp coconut korma. It had a very lovely, aromatic taste. Staff were friendly, and the interior is very modern looking. We ordered Mango Lassi, Samosa, Hyderabad chicken dum biryani, and Thalapakatti goat biryani. The chef delivered the food to our table and asked how was the food. They were very good. The aromatic spices from the biryani were amazing. We love the chicken dum biryani more over the goat biryani. It was a bit too spicy for our taste bud. We'll definitely come back for more to try out other flavors on the menu. And we love both samosa and creamy mango lassi. The restaurant is located inside Legends Outlet, facing opposite from the cinemark theater and on the other side of Grimaldi pizza. Was very excited to try this restaurant as it has items on the menu I've never heard of before. The Mirchi Bajji was my least favorite out of the four dishes we tried. Pure heat but bland also with too many onions but no regrets on trying something new. The uthappam was so delicious with huge portions and will definitely be back for more. The lamb was ordered with medium spice and felt it was lacking on the spice a bit but that could have been to the spicy level of the mirchi bajji had already numbed my mouth some.
