Giving the benefit of the doubt and bumping up to 4 stars because I want to see this place be successful (love the idea of a quick and affordable Indian food place being so close to my home!). Let's start with the good. The butter chicken was delicious. Had a good chicken-to-sauce ratio, wasn't too spicy, and had a savory rich umami flavor. I also loved how friendly the cashier was, and what a pleasant surprise to see the chef even poke his head out from the kitchen and wave hello-- that was cool. The chutneys were good but the mint chutney had a heat I wasn't anticipating which snuck up on me. The garlic naan was delicious (as naan usually is), fluffy in some areas and slightly crispy in others. My husband and I also found the bowls to be quite filling; I think the bowls hold more than they visually appear to-- which actually makes the prices a super value. There are a few things that could be improved. The mango lassi, while made from scratch (per the cashier), had an overripe or slightly bruised fruit taste to it. I did note that they restocked the mango lassis after serving ours so perhaps ours was just on its last day. I will say that I didn't love the bowl or burrito concept, but perhaps I am just a traditionalist. Another thing I will mention is that a few pieces of my chicken had some cartilage-- which wasn't my favorite-- but those pieces were still edible... While the cartilage was a bit of a turn off, it confirmed the butter chicken was made with dark meat (which I love). The ambiance was ok. It was clean and my husband and I felt comfortable eating in-- especially after feeling genuinely welcomed in to eat by the friendly service. A few other people dinned in too, but at max during our visit only 2 or 3 tables were occupied (but the place did just open so I can image that could change). The vibe inside reminded me a bit of some takeout Chinese places in Southern California-- just the plain walls, simple tables and chairs. I did appreciate the adequate spacing between the tables. Even if the restaurant were to be full I don't think it would feel too crowded. Some styling could make this place feel even better. Perhaps a mural like a few other places in town have, or at least some Indian inspired art on the walls. The signage and some of the professional looking photos on Yelp already create a bit of a vibe I'm digging. I grabbed photos of the new full menu; the cashier said it would be starting this coming Monday (May 4th, 2026). The lunch prices (highlighted in yellow) look fantastic (chicken tikka masala for $12.99- yes please!)! Overall, I think the place is worth checking out. Gotta try the butter chicken, especially if you're already a fan of this dish. I didn't ask, but I got the impression that the butter chicken is a South Indian recipe-- if you know, you know. ;)

New Spot Alert ‼ , from the moment I walked in, the staff made a strong impression. Super helpful, patient, and genuinely willing to answer questions without making you feel rushed. I ended up ordering a bowl with a chicken option that's not even on the menu yet ( pro tip ask about it.) It wasn't breaded, just perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender, juicy, and not chewy at all. There was a slight kick at the end, but nothing overwhelming just enough to keep things interesting. It came on a bed of rice that was cooked exactly how you'd want it. You're able to customize your order with sauces and toppings. I kept it pretty simple. I just added cucumber, which balanced out the spices perfectly. Needless to say I'll be returning.

Quick and fresh! Man this stuff is savory! The proteins are really well seasoned and tender, fresh veggies, and the samosas are crispy (don't forget the mint chutney!) Mango lassi definitely has a different flavor (in a good way) then most of the eateries in town. House made without the fluff! Friendly, quick, healthy, and on a track record to overtake Chipotle if I have anything to do with it. This is a quick eats place so ambiance reflects accordingly. Get in, eat, get out.

This place just opened last week and it is INCREDIBLE! My friend and I went last night - she ordered a naan wrap and a side dish, and I ordered a bowl (buttered chicken) and a side of garlic naan. The food was delicious, service was wonderful, and everything was thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back!

Butter chicken was so flavorful and juicy you could tell this was freshly made. There's so much love in this dish I was so satisfied!

Highly recommended! The owners are very hardworking and kind so that's a plus for one. And two the food is freshly made you can tell that it's not sitting out, the whole restaurant is clean and the portions are great! This will be my go to restaurant for Indian food moving forward! Also fun fact: one of the owners was the blue ranger in one of the newer power rangers that came out, that adds more cool factor to this already amazing place!

Authentic food from honest people. The goat curry is really really good. The mango lassi is spot on. Desi fire sauce is an awesome add on

My kids came with this time and enjoyed the pineapple shrimp curry and the mango curry (I forget…read morethe unique name of the mango dish but on the menu it had a crown icon and was not the mango one with the basil)-- both entrees were ordered in mild. These flavors were completely new to me, I've never had curries from an Indian restaurant that tasted like these. The pineapple curry was sweet but a little tangy and reminded me a bit of Thai curry (perhaps turmeric was really elevated in this curry?). The mango curry was also very sweet, it almost tasted like a sweetened butter chicken curry (specifically the northern Indian version of butter chicken-- if you know, you know). My son said the sweet flavor of the mango chicken curry reminded him of orange chicken from Chinese takeout and funny enough I thought it actually kinda did too! While these dishes were a hit with the kids (ages 7, 5, and 2) most adult tastebuds would prefer ordering them with at least some spice to balance out the intense sweetness (otherwise it can just seem "1 note"-- but 1 note "mild" was absolutely perfect for our young children who find even ground black pepper to be "spicy" haha). Maharaja Royal Bites, you just keep impressing me! I'm super happy we found these kid friendly options in your menu. Oh, ps, the kids LOVED their fried chicken appetizer too! Yelpers, ahelpful tip, we've noticed that here a "mild" spicy level can vary based on the dish. Sometimes it means literally no spice (like in the kid-friendly pineapple shrimp and mango curry) and other times we have found that it meant "yes, there is spice, and it's certainly more noticeable than black-- or even white ground-- pepper).

Flavors were just ok Gobi manchurian - thick batter on the cauliflower, pretty good flavor, especially the shallots Samosa chaat - crispy and full of flavor Garlic naan - a little too thin and crunchy for my liking, and not quite enough garlic Mango lassi - thinner, more yogurt forward The service was good, they did check in frequently to make sure everything was going well.

7-Spices is hands-down my new favorite spot for Indian food in Reno. 7-Spices has a diverse menu,…read moreincluding dosas, biriyani, Indo-Chinese dishes, and the typical food you'd expect from an Indian restaurant. Pro tip: don't order your go-to Indian dishes. 7-Spices' strong suit are South Indian specialties, such as dosas and biriyani. I've ordered takeout twice and dined in once. The Vijawada Chicken Biriyani is a must order. You can order different spice levels, but the very hot will give you a run for your money in the best possible way. I'm also a huge fan of the Masala Dosa. The Chicken 65 appetizer is also a great way to start the meal. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala once and while it was good, there wasn't much chicken in the dish and compared to 7-Spices' other offerings, it felt lackluster. Overall, I highly recommend 7-Spices if you want to try new Indian dishes. I will definitely be back!

I liked the decor but it felt a bit sparse in there. This might be some of the best gobi Manchurian in the greater Reno area. The seven spice chicken was pretty good but nothing spectacular (like the gobi). Another slight miss for me was the stuffed pepper dish, mirchi. I liked it but why was there no sauce that comes with it? We did ask for sauce and were obliged with a good coconut sauce but it's like why didn't it come with in the first place Also- the cocktails looked good, but the term taphouse is used pretty loosely here

Thankfully, Yelp led me to this convenient haven of flavor, and we finally got to try it last week with a takeout order. We ordered the chicken tikka, chana masala, garlic naan, and samosas. Everything was absolutely delicious! They gave us plenty of rice, and the garlic naan was plentiful and only $2--such a great deal. My only small complaint is that the samosas were covered in chana masala, which made them a bit soupy. It was still tasty, but I would have preferred plain samosas, which I didn't see as an option on the menu. Ordering online was super easy, and the food was ready in just 15 minutes. Bonus points for the gas station itself being clean and offering a large selection of snacks and drinks. I'll definitely be back for more!
