First off, five stars is a very rare review for me. I'm a believer in the fact that there is…read morealways room to get to 5, but Punch List hit it. I called Jim when someone accidentally destroyed my mailbox and I was, in total honesty, too lazy to go to replace the post myself in the middle of winter. Not only did he respond right away with a more than fair price but he had someone out the very next day to take care of the problem (I had ordered a new post that would be delivered that day). This is already a good review but it gets better. Now understand that I have always kept a handyman in my back pocket for jobs that were too big or too complicated for me (or I was too lazy to do) and Punch List did some things that the others never did, and I'm exceptionally happy. Dean was sent out and he is just the nicest and most professional guy, it's not who you envision when you think "handyman", you think of something, well, not him. Dean did a positively perfect job, he listened to my needs and accommodated them. When he was done there wasn't a trace that work had been done, he cleaned up every last spec of evidence, even hauling off the old post and the box the new one came in. This just doesn't happen with handymen! In fact, I looked out to see how things were progressing and I saw that he had some acetone out and was wiping down the whole post and box to make sure it was as pristine as could be. Do yourself a favor, just call these guys without hesitation. They are super nice, very professional and you can tell they take pride in what they do and those can be rare qualities these days. Thank you so much Dean and Jim, my hat is off to you for being so awesome!

When some boards that had been installed had some pre-existing issues that made them look bad, he didn't balk at all in tearing down those boards and re-installing some from the overage we ordered. On top of his great workmanship -- and strong work ethic -- Dean was simply a wonderful young man with which to work. Based on our experience, we'd highly recommend Punch List Handyman.

I believed the work to be good but some simple caulking came un-done after on five or six months. When I called to have them re-do it they also balked on doing any caulking. Moving on to a more qualified source. I originally contacted Travis based on his reviews on Yelp. a source I have come to rely upon. I…read moreonly had a small job I thought, replace a bathroom type ceiling exhaust fan that was in the laundry room of the house I had just recently bought. A malfunctioning exhaust fan is an odd problem to handle because electricians don't want to deal with duct work or anything they consider HVAC and HVAC people want to work on/replace furnaces or air conditioners not exhaust fans. Through Yelp I found and contacted Travis at Handyman Plus. He made an appointment and showed up right on time. The "broken" exhaust fan was not actually broken it turns out, nor was the switch which seemed to do nothing. It's a type of continuous running whole house exhaust fan unlike anything I had seen before. The wall switch which appeared like it might be broken wasn't it's just the way this fan operates. Travis got me all the information I needed to look up this fan and learn how to use it. A few weeks later I had a medicine cabinet I wanted installed in our master bathroom. As the wall area to be opened also housed the electric line to an outlet I asked Tarvis to do the installation. Again this was a small job, not the scale of work sought by many people in an up economy. Travis made an appointment, texted me when he was on his way and did an excellent job installing my cabinet; without hitting the power line or electrocuting himself. I'm really pleased with the work but more pleased overall with Travis of Handyman Plus. He is professional, thorough, capable and resourceful. I would not hesitate to call him for much larger jobs.

In 2010, we had them upgrade the insulation in our attic with cellulose (treated newspaper shreds), and do various upgrades to seal our home for better insulation. In 2014, we had them install an evaporative cooler to cool the house in the summer with much less electricity than air conditioning. In both cases, they were very responsive to issues that developed years later, and fixed them or assisted us free of charge. In 2022, they fixed and upgraded our broken radon mitigation system. And a week ago (January 2023), we had them add even more cellulose insulation in the attic, and upgrade our wall insulation with dense packed cellulose. The latter involved removing one piece of wood siding for each section around the house, drilling a hole between each stud, and using a high pressure hose to pack the cellulose between the exterior wall and the drywall. This eliminates air flow, and keeps the interior walls insulated. The original fiberglass batts were not removed. We were very nervous about the possibility of the old wood siding cracking during the removal process, but they did the whole job and reinstalled the siding with no issues. We highly recommend EcoHandyman!

Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend their services. EcoHandyman was the most expensive of the bids we received, but we felt the quality materials and work justified the price for our primary residence. They used a thick 12 mil crawlspace vapor barrier, reinforced to 15 mil under stored items, exceeding the flimsier 6 mil plastic typically used by cheaper contractors. The radon system components were high quality and installed properly for energy efficiency and performance. Throughout the project, communication was clear and all crew members conducted themselves professionally in our home. They kept us informed during each step and were thoughtful about protecting our space during the messy crawlspace work. Most importantly, the crawlspace improvements have drastically reduced winter radon levels from over 8 pCi/L to around 1 pCi/L now. The vapor barrier and added insulation also seem to make the floor noticeably warmer this winter. The overall experience gives us confidence that the work was done right. While the price was high, we felt it was fair for the quality and expertise. For any major crawlspace or radon work needed in the future, EcoHandyman will be at the top of our list to call again.
