When some boards that had been installed had some pre-existing issues that made them look bad, he didn't balk at all in tearing down those boards and re-installing some from the overage we ordered. On top of his great workmanship -- and strong work ethic -- Dean was simply a wonderful young man with which to work. Based on our experience, we'd highly recommend Punch List Handyman.

Everything was upfront with the quote we received within 24 hours. So easy to approve the quiet and set up the appointment for the repairs. I called on Wednesday and Dean was here, right on time, on Friday morning. So thankful they were able to do the job so quickly! Dean was friendly, efficient, and worked the full time he was here. We had two different repairs/replacements to be done and are very pleased with the outcome. Pricing was fair and Jim really listened to what we needed. We will definitely be utilizing their services again for small and larger remodel jobs. I feel confident in recommending to friends and family!

Stay away from doing simple caulking…read more.. I had them do some work last May and the gentleman who did the work could not have been nicer. I believed the work to be good but some simple caulking came un-done after on five or six months. They originally wanted photos which was curious since I do not want someone doing work in my house when there is none to be done. When I called to have them re-do it they also balked on doing any caulking. Moving on to a more qualified source. Again, Bob was a great guy but perhaps they use inferior products or just don't have the skills around that kind of job.

I think this company has some very experienced people. Their website makes me think that. But they…read moresent a very young, nervous person incapable of doing the work that we had scheduled over a month before. My first email had clearly stated that I needed some window cranks replaced, and that I had others that were tight but probably just needed some lubrication. I sent photographs, manufacturer information. I was told the person would stop at Home Depot to get the parts and would arrive at 9 AM. They said they'd just get extras and could return the rest or all of them if it was wrong. At about 9:15 she shows up, said that she was going to go to Home Depot after she figured out what was needed. I walked through the entire house with her, she took not a single note, but I was counting in my head. We needed 5 replacements. She said 4 (not even counting correctly, and also if she had known what she was doing would have realized she needed to know whether they were right or left mount), but she really thought the entire window needed to be replaced! She left for Home Depot and I'm there thinking - now I'm getting charged for a round trip to Home Depot because she didn't look at the pictures I sent? The next call I got was from the office saying this job was over their head (honestly it's not... I found a 4-minute YouTube video within 60 seconds of her leaving that explained how to do but this person was so clearly not an experienced handy person), and they gave me the name of a local window company. So I will get the work done, we're all calling it a wash, but I wasted a morning plus have waited a month. Ridiculous. I normally only say nice things, but I think the defensive voicemail they left saying that I hadn't explained what was needed made me want to tell someone about this experience. I went back to the first email I wrote, and it said, verbatim - "The windows in our house open outward with cranks, many of which are broken or non-functional. Can you fix something like this? There are quite a few of them. Let me know, please." We then had much back and forth with me sending the photos and descriptions I wrote about above. I did say later that I suspected some of them just needed lubrication, but since I had begun the inquiry with the clear statement they needed replacement, I did not repeat myself. Make sure to clarify the specific experience of the person they send. And make sure they understand what the job entails. Their "team" is not everyone shown on the website.

A malfunctioning exhaust fan is an odd problem to handle because electricians don't want to deal with duct work or anything they consider HVAC and HVAC people want to work on/replace furnaces or air conditioners not exhaust fans. Through Yelp I found and contacted Travis at Handyman Plus. He made an appointment and showed up right on time. The "broken" exhaust fan was not actually broken it turns out, nor was the switch which seemed to do nothing. It's a type of continuous running whole house exhaust fan unlike anything I had seen before. The wall switch which appeared like it might be broken wasn't it's just the way this fan operates. Travis got me all the information I needed to look up this fan and learn how to use it. A few weeks later I had a medicine cabinet I wanted installed in our master bathroom. As the wall area to be opened also housed the electric line to an outlet I asked Tarvis to do the installation. Again this was a small job, not the scale of work sought by many people in an up economy. Travis made an appointment, texted me when he was on his way and did an excellent job installing my cabinet; without hitting the power line or electrocuting himself. I'm really pleased with the work but more pleased overall with Travis of Handyman Plus. He is professional, thorough, capable and resourceful. I would not hesitate to call him for much larger jobs.

Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend their services. EcoHandyman was the most expensive of the bids we received, but we felt the quality materials and work justified the price for our primary residence. They used a thick 12 mil crawlspace vapor barrier, reinforced to 15 mil under stored items, exceeding the flimsier 6 mil plastic typically used by cheaper contractors. The radon system components were high quality and installed properly for energy efficiency and performance. Throughout the project, communication was clear and all crew members conducted themselves professionally in our home. They kept us informed during each step and were thoughtful about protecting our space during the messy crawlspace work. Most importantly, the crawlspace improvements have drastically reduced winter radon levels from over 8 pCi/L to around 1 pCi/L now. The vapor barrier and added insulation also seem to make the floor noticeably warmer this winter. The overall experience gives us confidence that the work was done right. While the price was high, we felt it was fair for the quality and expertise. For any major crawlspace or radon work needed in the future, EcoHandyman will be at the top of our list to call again.

I was beginning to get nervous, because I obviously couldn't leave my house or sleep with a broken front door! Luckily, I found Yury! Yury responded to my Yelp project, had 5 stars!, provided me with an estimate, communicated with me promptly via text - to schedule, arrived promptly on time, was friendly, and - even though it took him longer than his original estimate to fix, and I offered to compensate him accordingly - he refused my higher price! Very ethical, dependable, and he performed quality / reliable work. I trust Yury, and will definitely love to hire him again, and refer / recommend him! :-)
