I Think I called you 3 or 4 times as my 36 year old Carrier took it last gasps. Because of the service contract I bought; the multiple visits didn't cost me anything extra. When it became apparent that dumping money into my unit was a fools errand, I set up installation of a new Carrier for the following week. Your guys (Dan and Jason?) arrived promptly and began working just as a 3 1/2 hour soaking rain began. They were pleasant throughout even though the area where the unit was to be installed turned into a quagmire. They cleaned up a shoddy job by my furnace installers while taking care of the furnace room part of the project. Net/Net I had a great experience with your company from top to bottom. When I expressed concern that the timing of service call might delay my installation, I got above and beyond reassurance via chat that you guys understood and were on top of if. And you were. Tom and Josh arrived on time to install our new Carrier furnace. Tom had been to our home in July, 2017, to install our new air conditioner. He remembered our job and I was thankful because I had requested those installers, if possible, for this job. They got right to work. Upon completion, Tom took me outside to review the chimney and location of the exhaust pipes. Once inside he went over the details of the furnace. Paperwork reviewed and out they went. The best. I have used several heating and cooling companies over the years of the 2005 installation of my Lockinvar boiler. Mechanical was to only company that gave me the straight dope. There were several smaller problems that Keith took care of during the cleaning. The cleaning was major. Had not had it cleaned since the insulation in 2005. Pros: To be fair, they showed up and fixed the problem (AC out). Cons: Charged $325 to replace a $10 capacitor you can buy at any Home Depot. Charges were: $79 just to show up and look at it, $148 for the part which costs $10, and $98 for less than 30 min of labor. Will not be calling these guys again. read more

When the gas company came out to turn on this furnace on it didn't work I called mechanical heating and cooling which is not far from where I live and a guy named Chris came to service us well, Chris was very friendly and he got to the point in no time what happened is the control panel was damaged because at one time there was a flood he went and got the new control panel and he was back in no time I am ever so grateful that the price was not as much as I thought. read more

I bought my house last year in October. My aging AC died this summer. I knew it wasn't going to be repairable since it sounded like it threw a rod. Anyway I called Mechanical Heating and Cooling first because they had a service history sticker on my furnace showing service calls dating back 10 years, which means the previous homeowner put a lot of trust in these people so I wished to stay with a company that had some experience with this house. Their technician showed up right on time, and told me exactly what the problem was, and setup and appointment with their sales person/estimator for a new AC unit. He showed up right on time as well and gave me an offer on a new AC unit far better than I was expecting. I ended up also upgrading the AC unit to 2.5 ton from the old 2 ton unit. They came and replaced the AC unit, and matched evaporator coil with brand new Carrier unit. The last AC used to take hours to go down 2 degrees, this new AC took my 1500 sqft ranch down 3 degrees in half an hour. They replaced the pad with a new one since the new AC is twice the size of the last one, ran new wiring and new piping for condensation pump. Overall, excellent experience. I paid cash for my job, but they did offer a zero interest payment plan. I will stay with MHC, they're good people. read more

My blower motor went out so I call for a fix it was after hours so I expected to pay more for the service call. $99.00 reg price $149 after hours ok with that. Was told I needed a new blower motor and was ok with that. The technician was great and did a good job and was fast getting to my house as well as doing the job ,got my furnace up and running. What I'm not ok with is the total job was just under $700 dollars but when you have no heat at 13 below zero you get the thing fixed. Looked up the part on line because the technician left the box that the part came in out of curiosity and it was $100 to $130 dollars free shipping. I know mechanical heating and cooling is in business to make money I'm all for that but I think that's a little ridiculous almost $700 for $100 part installed that's wrong I told rip off. Way overpriced but I didn't have a choice I need to get a fix but I will definitely look elsewhere the next time I need a furnace repair I can't believe how bad I got ripped off by this big company. I hope they reach out to me and tell me why this repair was so expensive the tech told me the motor was $500 that's a big mark up. read more

Over-priced, inexperienced technicians, very unprofessional. I have never felt so cheated in my life, I called Mechanical to fix my furnace when it was literally freezing outside, the technician came two hours late and gave me an attitude. I told me that I needed a new furnace, which would cost around $1200.00. I asked why, and he responded, "every major component in your furnace needs to be replaced, so might as well buy a new one." He charged me $120 for that advice. He was sketchy and unprofessional. The following day, I called another local heating and cooling to get a second opinion. It turns out, I need a new ignitor which cost only $25!! I simply replaced the ignitor and low and behold, my furnace was working like a charm. Replace the entire furnace? We prepaid last year and ended up having to call them to schedule Spring service. After they missed the initial 12-5 promised time, we were called close to 8 pm that day, which was unacceptable. After rescheduling for another 12-5 time slot, I made sure I was home for when the technician arrived. My husband got two calls from them within a few minute period while he was at work and couldn't answer but called them right back once he could and our appointment was cancelled because 'the techs can only be held for 10 minutes.' We went through several boiler repair companies. They charged us all sorts of money and never fixed the problem. We spent Thanksgiving in a freezing house.
