I know this world is about supply and demand, especially when your heat goes out in 18 degree weather on a Saturday morning but charging a premium on that service makes me sick. I don't know how this place has such good reviews. I just got a call back from the guy and he wanted to charge me $180 and hour for labor and also just to come out and check out what is wrong with our furnace. Maybe they do a good job on servicing and fixing your heating and cooling but there are a lot of places that do a good job too without ripping you off on the labor end of things. I called Prime Time Heating & Cooling instead and it was $69 for the service charge and they came out within the hour to fix everything. AAC, this is a poor poor way to treat people who are in need knowing they need heat on a cold winter's day. Be careful of these guys everyone. read more

I had an exceptional experience with AAC Services. First, I called their company late on a Sunday after my furnace went out. I was able to talk to someone right away, and they offered to come to my house immediately. However, as it was after hours, my home warranty company wouldn't cover the visit, so they set up a convenient appointment the next day to meet with my work schedule. Sul Salam was the technician who came to my home to address the issue with my furnace. He was incredibly friendly and professional. He identified the issue with my furnace right away. When my home warranty company tried to give him the run around over the phone, he was very persistent and advocated that they cover the visit (which they ended up doing, thanks to him). It didn't take him long at all to diagnose and fix the problem with my furnace, and he actually spent the vast majority of his visit on the phone with the warranty company. He didn't charge me for the extra time it took to ensure that the warranty company covered the repairs. If I ever have any other heating issues, I will definitely give AAC Services a call, and I will request Sul Salam by name. I highly recommend this company. read more

I called today at 12:30 pm, left a message with the receptionist. Adam had called back within 10 minutes, and after my converstaion with him, he was at my home in 30 minutes. I thought my A/C condensor/compressor was shot because it hummed. Adam did a couple checks and within minutes he determined that the capacitor was bad. He checked the freon level for me while he was there, no issues were found. I was back up and running in 20 minutes on a 95 degree day! He could have easily sold me a new unit but didn't. I never received a call so I called the office the next morning. Someone finally did call me but I missed the call. I called back 4 times and left a voicemail and he never returned my calls. The boiler @ my Dads house in Detroit went out. They were freezing my daughter called DTE they came out but couldn't do anything even though they have a protection plan the boiler repair wasn't covered. My daughter was frantic as Dad is 89 yr young. It's April & Detroit just had snow. She called a few places but apparently they racial profile the area & didn't service Detroit! Now she was panicky she googled heating companies and came across AAC Services in Madison Heights. She called spoke to Melva in the office, Melva was kind, professional & courteous, very friendly. They installed a new AC Unit a few months ago. It stopped working Tuesday July 19. They couldn't make it over to fix it until Wenesday July 20, first a 21 yr. old kid shows up, I said OK, maybe he knows his stuff, maybe he's been working on these things since he's 16? No. After about 15 minutes of fooling around he says "needs a new blower motor". I said OK do that, my landlord is paying, do whatever needs to be done. He says "probably take several days until we can get one, parts are hard to get". I said UNACCEPTABLE!. Within 10 minutes, an older guy shows up and says "Oh yeah, I got one of those on the truck" "But it might be this circuit board, too". So he hot wires the blower, it works fine, so he says it only needs the board. they install and leave. Today is Friday 7/22, my Fan never turns off, just noticed that late last night. They show up today to repair, again. This time the older guy wants to use my bathroom, he's running back and forth through my house with his dirty shoes. When I ask him to put on foot protectors like the kid did yesterday he gets all pissed off and says "You want this thing fixed or not? Bevcause I can just leave right now, I don't give a Fuck". So my furnace is in pieces, my thermostat is gone and I have no air. It's going up to 100 again today like it has the last several days. The landlord is trying to find a reputable company. One last thing, when they left Tuesday they said they were going to bill the landlord for the blower motor and laughing about it. We'll see who laughs last. Worse than amateurs! read more

Wish i could give 0 STARS. Such an unprofessional rip-off artist. Ten minutes and almost $150 later...showed this crook "repairman" the door. I walked in and just about ran to the basement. Not pleasant at all. Barely knew how to open the furnace and nearly fell into water heater trying to squeeze himself between the furnace and water heater. Pulled open what was working and instantly said it needed to be repaired. Didn't check what we asked him to check and quickly shut down any other possible issues. Threw a price out and when we balked at that and asked him again to check what may be wrong...offered a lower price but began packing...so we showed him the door. Walked out saying nothing, then came back with his bill and after asking multiple times the amount because he mumbled everything he said other than his demands for money, he took the check and ran out the door, and raced down the block without stopping around the corner. YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST GET AN EXACT PRICE IN WRITING FROM THIS COMPANY BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY WORK DONE. I needed a gas line dug and hooked up. Men from AAC came to my home and measured the run. The owner, Adam called and gave me a verbal quote of $2,000.00. He then sent me a contract that did not show the total cost. The work was done and no surprises arose during the work. When I received the bill, it was almost $3,000.00. When I called, Adam became rude and said the $2,000.00 was just an estimate. If he was quoting estimates, he should have quoted $3,000.00 since he ended up charging me $2,883.20. I felt they were deceptive and I will not use them again. Yes, they also quoted me on my water heater even though they were only sent out for the furnace -- but I was happy for this; I knew it would need to be replaced this year so the suggestion helped me get the ball rolling. Great service! Came and went within service time window (same day service, called at 9, here by 2:30). Sul was very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He came just after a rain shower and had tyvek overboots to protect my floors. Found and removed an over-utilized filter, gave me the specs for a much lower cost option (over a OEM version), added 5 oz of Freon and verified operation of the system with a digital mixing valve/diagnostics tool. read more

I had this company out to inspect my water tank which I thought was tripping the breaker intermittently. The technician was very friendly and professional. He thought the plug was overloaded, which I had been using for the water tank and the humidifier on my furnace for months without a problem. He unplugged the humidifier and said to call back if that didn't work. The other thought he had was a faulty part which he said he was going to check with the company and get back with me. When the problem kept occurring I called AAC back to see if they found out about the suspect part. They told me they hadn't had time to call, but they would do so since the problem wasn't solved. In the meantime I had the breaker replaced and haven't had a problem since. They did call on the part and call me back to relay the results of the call. I gave them 2 stars because they really didn't solve the problem. Have used Harriman Heating Inc in the past with excellent service, thought I would try someone local. Will be sticking with Harriman in the future. read more

Bad News. Buyer Beware. Do not trust this company or its workers. Adam is the owner. Chela is the Office Manager. They are all friendly and accomodating when they sell new equipment.However, when getting repairs they told me dishonest things that I could not believe, so I thanked them and had a competitor come out. Competitor said what AAC told me needed repair did not in fact have anything wrong with it. Said my system was fine. They were always trying to get me to replace other items in my home that have nothing wrong with and are not old. I saw other positive reviews on Yelp and once felt the same way with AAC, but their true colors shine brightly as time has passed. Do not trust A A C Services. We were not looking forward to the process of finding a contractor to get a new furnace, and were nervous about what would happen with the new furnace.....see, we got burned 7 years ago, and had had an expensive lemon sitting where a furnace should, all those years. So we looked at all the HVAC literature we could find, and spent hours studying "how to pick an HVAC contractor" "how to buy a new furnace", etc. So, of five contractors, Adam of AAC is the only person who came over and looked at the house and asked questions, instead of just basing the BTU needs estimate on the area of the house. He explained what may have been wrong with the lemon furnace, based on what he saw when he checked it out, and on known industry problems. The price was competitive, we got a good warranty (and got to see the fine print before we signed the contract, unlike with some other companies), and the installation went well. The installation team were ready for anything! They even let our curious cat Neezer watch them! They redid the wiring for the thermostat when they found the previous installation (7 years ago) had been done wrong......They modified the metal box that had been for a fancy electronic filter that never worked right, and they turned it into a media filter housing, which works perfectly now. Since installation in October, not a single problem. The furnace Adam helped us pick is quiet, keeps the house warm, and has been reliable. read more

Owner Adam is a deceitful liar. He had his repair guycome out to fix my air conditioning. He said it was guaranteed and after $900 it stopped working a day later. Spoke to owner and he said it must have been a bigger problem and refused to refund my money. Then he tried to sell me a completely new unit. AAC and Adam are a company to stay away from. My furnace stopped working and my house was unbearably cold. I couldn't wait until Monday, which was the only time any other company I called could come. I called Aac Services on a Saturday after several other companies told me they were unavailable, and Adam was at my house within the hour. He was very professional and courteous. He explained exactly what the problem was, fixed it on the spot, and gave me some additional maintenance tips to help prevent any further issues. The fee was a bit high, but still very reasonable considering it was after hours and on short notice. Definitely worth not freezing all weekend until Monday. read more

Not AT ALL a pleasant experience. CANNOT recommend. Go read the NEGATIVE reviews of this company (on Yelp and elsewhere), and you'll notice a pattern. Oh, first off: be careful of leaving a negative review of them on yp.com--you know, like at THEIR (AAC's) website--it might get "disappeared" quicker than a Russian dissident under Putin--like mine did (after being "live" for a day or two). Oh well, so many web review sites, so much copying-and-pasting. In Dec. 2016, my wife called AAC to come have a look at our five-year-old (Navien) tankless water heater. To be clear, the system was not installed by AAC, but another company, now OOB (out of..). After five years of trouble-free service however, its hot water delivery had recently become intermittent and the system would (too) often need to be "reset" (from its control panel) to get hot water again. The "diagnostic code" the control panel displayed usually pointed (in the owner's manual) to a particular component: a "bypass" valve. Also to be extra-clear, this was NOT a OMG-WE'VE-GOT-NO-HOT-WATER situation. Just annoying, really. A once-or-twice-a-week thing, at most. But we wanted it fixed. When AAC came out, they told me that it appeared that not only that valve, but the entire "motherboard" (yes, a computer) would need replacing. But guess what? Turns out (AAC told me) these parts are all under warranty! Yay, right? I tell them to go ahead, get the parts and come install them--and install a "flush kit" that the original contractor should've put on the system anyway as well. It takes a couple of days for one of the parts to be shipped in, but they come back out (two different guys this time), install everything, and hand me--an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR bill. Whoa. To say I was alarmed is putting it mildly. For a mental picture, think of one of those kids' moms on South Park: "Wha-wha-wha-WHAAAT?" But hold on, it gets better. When I balked at the size of the bill, and told them if I'd had any idea BEFORE they started,... (sound familiar?) they gave me the most irritating, insulting part (over the phone): "But, don't you remember that paperwork WE SHOWED YOU on our (the OTHER guy's) first visit...?" Implied: I'm possibly a memory-challenged DOLT, and I'm like, all confused and stuff. "Uh, no ma'am, never saw ANY SUCH THING." If I HAD, I certainly would've said Whisky-Tango-Foxtrot at that point--before parts were ordered and any agreement was made to proceed with the (irreversible, of course) work, etc. Who wouldn't? Bottom line (including, BTW, a HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS AN HOUR FOR LABOR), I gave them the full amount (on my credit card) they got their money, and now...they got their review. I'll bet AAC doesn't remember my telling them I'd be sharing my experience with them on the web. Gotta run--more sites on which to share this. Places where fair, honest, NEGATIVE reviews don't usually get "disappeared," I might add. read more
