5 stars for Corey and Mike. I came home from work last Monday to find that my condo was unusually hot, and the A/C had stopped working. I have a Consumers Energy policy on my house and I thought AC was covered but it was not, so I headed to Yelp to pick out someone to fix it. I called three different companies, including this one, and most said they charge about $90 to $100 just to come out and look at the A/C unit. Mike and Corey quoted me $75, and at the end they only charged me $70. When they arrived, they took a look at the A/C and for some reason the A/C was working again (so, not much to do or assess), but they gave me some pertinent information about it like the age and some tips and tricks to manage it. They also said that if for some reason the A/C stopped working again, they would come back the next day and would not charge me the $70 again for stopping by. I was also impressed that when I called them around 5 or 6pm that Monday, they gave me a time range (2-4pm) that they'd be visiting, on the next day, and then they called me around 1:30pm because they were free then, and wanted to see if I was too. I didn't find them to be Noble at all, the igniter on my furnace went out again. I called these guys based on local to me and food reviews. They were able to come out pretty quick, but literally walked in looked at my furnace and said it's a Bryant and they are known for cracked heat exchangers really I should replace it since it's 18-20 years old. I was shocked he had t even taken cover off access. I paid the standard fee and said to email me a quote for furnace and A/C to which I never got. Had Corey and Mike out to work on my furnace. Colder weather started and when I turned on my furnace, no heat. I did the usual self-help basics, like changing the filter and so on to no avail. I called Noble based on Yelp Reviews, with no further information about them. Corey and Mike got to my home promptly at their appointment time. It took them about an hour to find the suspect issue-a port on my igniter had plugged up. They were unable to find a replacement part at hand and would have had to order it-but Corey cleaned the part back in their office well enough so it functioned properly. They put it back in the furnace and it worked fine. Total charge was $ 125 for the service, which I consider reasonable. They were prompt, located the issue quickly and got the furnace working again-ready for a cold week. I'm very pleased and would recommend others to use Noble. I'll use them again if I have more issues with my furnace or A/C. read more

This is the second time I have used Noble Heating and Cooling. The first time was for my furnace. I actually got another estimate from a different company at first, but ultimately I wasn't comfortable and looked for a different company, making contact instead with Noble. It turned out if I had gone with the first company, Noble said the way things were configured, the other company was going to use the wrong furnace for the job and it was felt I likely would have had to rip everything out and start over. It was thoroughly explained why this would have happened since what was going to be used wasn't the right size to fit properly, etc. I was so glad I found this out in advance and went with Noble for the job instead. Everything turned out well, so I contacted them again for my A/C which was blowing warm air. I was concerned since I had been trying to find a condo to move into, so I didn't want to invest in a new unit for a place I was trying to leave. Turned out the repair was for a wire only, I am so relieved and glad once again I called Noble! I am also a single gal and need a company I can trust. Apparently a large percentage of their business is single women like myself, so they understand my personal situation and really looked out for me, doing everything they could to repair it so I wouldn't have to purchase a new unit! No words for how much this was appreciated, I will call them for everything in the future and recommend them to family and friends as well! read more

I put in a call for assistance and diagnosis of an issue with my furnace. Mike and Corey arrived as scheduled and thoroughly completed their troubleshooting analysis. After concluding that all appeared OK with my furnace condition, Corey suggested that I should prepare for a future furnace replacement since mine was already 27 years old (20 years life expectancy). This father/son team is as good as it gets in today's world. Extremely friendly, honest and professional tradesmen. Our furnace went out during the night on one of the coldest days of the year (6 degrees). I completed my personal information at 6:00 AM and received a call from Noble before 7:00 AM. They set a 10:00 AM appointment, text me when they were on their way and showed up just before 10:00. They then diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue for a fair price by 10:30. I had a very good experience with Noble Heating and Cooling recently. My furnace motor went belly-up and I called around and got 4 competitive quotes. Noble was one of them based off of a referral from an in-law. All of the quotes I got were in the same ballpark for the most part, but what set Noble apart was the professionalism and the follow up. Corey from Noble stopped by the same day I contacted the company and got me a written quote on site. He was professional, and articulated clearly every aspect of the quote and the work that would need to be done, including ductwork in the chimney and access to our electrical panel. I still has a couple more contractors scheduled to take a look, so I thanked him while I waited to complete my estimates. Cory from Noble was the only one who called me back and double checked to see if I had any further questions, while also taking that opportunity to let me know again that he wanted my business. I thanked him again and assured him that I'd let him know once I had my estimates in and that he didn't have to worry about a lowball and that I was only comparing Noble with other bonded, insured professional installers and not "my buddies buddy and his pickup truck." Bottom line is that in a set of quotes that were in the same ballpark, Noble's ended up the lowest, while demonstrating the most follow through, and leaving me with the greatest sense of competency. A clear winner. As an estimator and PM for my company that constantly puts together bids for publicly funded projects, I'm probably one of the more annoying customers a contractor can have, because I'm going to look at everything, but Corey was a champ and Noble did a great job. I'd recommend them to anyone and they were also the recommendation I got from my in-law. Lastly, I won't mention names, but one of the contractors I contacted quoted me a price for a service call on the phone, and bumped it up over 25% in the field (this was the initial contractor that diagnosed the spent motor). Also, they tried to talk me into their "service plan" on the phone which gave me a price of $50 for the service call. Once I mentioned that to the field tech he informed me that there was also a monthly service fee of around 13 bucks a month if I wanted that price. Again, this was left out of the pricing information when it was explained to me on the phone. Games like that are the quickest way to lose a customer whose home you were already in ( a big advantage). Ok, one more thing. For anybody out there who needs contracting work done, I can't stress enough how important it is to get at least 3 quotes. Of the four, 3 companies called me back and were at my house same or next day (with the exception of 1 company that I needed to call back to get the call-back that was originally promised). So in general, you can get numbers very quickly, -don't be lazy! read more

Our old AC died on us in the hottest 2 weeks this year and they had us back up and running in only 8 days! So impressed with this company. My furnace went out and my regular HVAC guy was heading out of town. I called Noble out of desperation and was pleasantly surprised with their responsiveness. They were at my front door within an hour and a half. They had my problem diagnosed and fixed within 15-20 minutes at a fair and reasonable price. Our 28 year old furnace started making a terrible noise so I called our appliance repair plan number for help. The technician found a crack in our heat exchanger and condemned it instantly. He also quoted me a price which I thought was extremely high. After doing some research online, we decided to call Noble Heating. Corey gave me a ballpark quote on the phone and made an appointment for the next business day to look at the furnace. He confirmed the quote which was a third of the price of the previous technician. Had AC installed on an existing forced air system. Very pleased with the work Corey and the rest of the crew did. Fair pricing, very professional, honest, clean, and neat finished product. These guys were great! Our nearly 30 year old furnace was nickel and diming us to death this winter, and was once again on the verge of dying during some of our coldest days... After a few other quotes, and some run around from another company at a point when we needed a new furnace "yesterday".... we gave Noble a call, and the next morning Corey came out to check things out and give us a quote. He was very professional, courteous, and straight forward; they even went the extra mile to get the furnace we needed expedited in, and were able to get it in and installed within a couple days. Not to mention they also noticed a problem with our water heater exhaust duct work and fixed it at the same time to bring it up to code. Some of our old duct work looked like a hacked together mess, they re-did it all and it was a night and day difference - very clean and professional install. On top of the above great service, they were also one of the best quotes we received, and it was an accurate out the door quote - no surprises. We value service over cost, but they really and truly fit both sides of the equation. New furnace runs great, and keeps the temp in our house even and consistent (highly recommend the two stage). Also nice to finally not have to crank up the tv volume when the heat kicks on - its very quiet, don't even notice when it comes on now. Would highly recommend them to everyone. read more

If you need to replace your furnace, do yourself a favor and have Noble Heating & Cooling give you a quote. Corey was the last of four contractors I invited to quote the replacement of my furnace. He spent considerably more time walking through my house to ascertain what I truly needed and asked more prudent questions than any of the other companies. He used a program that takes a number of factors into consideration including square footage, insulation materials, number of levels (i.e., 2-story house, basement), etc. to determine the optimal BTU output. The result of his analysis was that a smaller furnace (as compared to what the other companies had recommended) would be sufficient. He won't try to sell you more furnace than you really need for the sake of making more money. As for the installation, he and his colleague came the next morning and completed the job that day. I offered to buy them both lunch but they decided to work straight through to ensure I had heat as soon as possible (my old furnace had died in the middle of winter). You can tell these guys take significant pride in their workmanship. The mechanical and electrical inspectors from Troy both remarked that the quality of the installation was among the finest they had seen. Give them a chance to win your business. You won't be disappointed and will probably save some money as well! read more

I had a great experience with Noble heating and cooling today. I woke up this morning to a broken furnace and a freezing house. I called Noble heating and cooling at about 6:30 AM and they were out here by 8:30 AM to check out the problem. Turns out my old furnace was past its lifespan and beyond repair so we needed a replacement. By 1:00 PM we had a brand-new working furnace and our house was warm :-). Professional. Honest. Cost Competitive. Expedient. Knowledgeable. I had a unique problem with a unique furnace setup in the dead of winter. I was told through another local company my furnace had to be replaced. Noble Heating and Cooling mentioned (separately) my furnace was in great shape and should not need to be replaced. They then spent the time and had the expertise to solve a board issue with one non-bulged capacitor failure. Replaced only the capacitor (not the whole board) and charged me only for labor which was also less expensive / hr than other companies I've had out.
