My AC quit when high temperatures were predicted. Nick, the technician and his coworker arrived within time frame given. They were very respectful moving through living room and other rooms of the house with shoe covers. They quickly diagnosed what was needed and had the part to make the repair. I pointed out that there were some exposed wires.They covered those wires and left the area where they worked very neat. My unit is not new. I know I will need a new system at some point. When it comes to Comfort Plus, LC Heating $ Cooling It cost $95.00 to let the technician into the home. With no tools or parts everything had open access prior to arrival in less than a minute or the blink of an eye. I would have easily switched the two small hoses I incorrectly put on backward myself while previously replacing the circuit board. The pressure switch sits center stage right there in the middle all by itself. It's like the nose on your face right there. Instead of pointing out the problem sitting there in front of our faces during a one-minute play. This quick-thinking four-year technician working for Comfort Heating quickly and easily, in less than a minute. Had slipped and switched, the tubes and charge, an extra $133.00. in addition the previous $95.00. I later drove to the business address of Comfort Heating of Troy on Rochester Road and when, I discussed the issue with the Owner. He told me doesn't matter something was still done and I, was charged, $228.00. You would think $95.00 is enough for a minute or two with or without tools. People who work in dark areas will not be in business long when people like myself tell others what's good or band and spreading the word. I don't believe he is doing well and neither, are the people who work there. I wouldn't use this 1% business you deserve honest work with honest values and Comfort Plus is not that business. read more

Technicians at Comfort Plus, LC in Troy did NOT know how to check a faulty humidity controller on a furnace. Said it was working fine when in the off position and hardly any water was coming out. After about 5 minutes they went to their van and handed me a bill for $90. I replaced the humidity controller myself a few days later and now it is working like it's suppose to. Hope they have better training of their technicians in the future. read more

Suck Man didn't even check if gas valve was on after I reminded him he has to turn the gas on in basement he then went to basement turned it on all stupid then back up again pretending looking at the heater for another minute I was told I had to replace it. $2640 for a heater, $4800 for heating&cooling function heater, prices are for a replacement of a foot long small heater for a small patio room, quiet expensive and he needed go rub a bank instead. Our gas-line wall heater is small and old, fire was very small won't last but we're seeking for a fix. Asked him if he could make it happen he just kept repeating " no, I wouldn't do that" No professional explanation act stupid. Paid $90 sent kicked him out, I wish. read more

Now I won't claim to know about heating and cooling systems, electrical panels, temperature gauges, etc. I honestly can barely operate the thermostat at my house! What I do know is a good deal and an honest person, and that would be Chris Tranoff of Comfor Plus Heating and Cooling. I was referred to Chris by hearing a friend's testimonial but I never thought I would be calling on him in my life, until one day I was in the venture of opening up my own cafe in Ferndale. I did everything I was supposed to do, I hired an architect, real estate agent, business lawyer, etc. We found a location on 9 Mile and Woodward, which was the old Radio Shack. We were planning on taking over that lease when my lawyer pointed out to me that maybe I should get the HVAC unit checked out before I made an decisions. Let me tell you, I am beyond glad that I did. I called Chris and explained him my situation, he showed up within an hour. He looked through everything with me and even climbed up on a roof in icy 2 degree Michigan weather. Chris mind you, is like 6'3 and 250+ pounds, so I was a but nervous for him. He climbed up there like Jackie Chan and gave me a full analysis in no time. The verdict? He told me that the HVAC unit was about 25 years old and could not handle the capacity of what I was trying to do. This information was devastating to me, but he advised me on alternatives on what I could do. Based on this information, I presented it to my landlord and they reluctantly agreed to add a brand-spankin new unit in the store that could handle the massive capacity of the 2000 sq. ft. facility. Chris did not ask for any money or even a thank you. One of the stipulations of the lease was for a certified HVAC specialist to do quarterly inspections on the unit and without hesitation I chose Chris. I am very happy with his professionalism, promptness, competative pricing, and most of all his respectfulness. Although he did an amazing job on my commercial unit, I am told he does an even better job at home visits for hvac units. I got home this evening to a house that was over 80 degrees just after 8:00 PM and after trying to see if I could fix it on my own, I called Comfort Plus at 8:40 and while I was just hoping to have someone call me tomorrow, I got a call back from Chris and he asked if I would mind if he came over tonight? Without hesitation, I said absolutely and within a short period of time he was here and was able to replace the blown part and got us back up and running. I'm quite sure he something better to do on a Friday night and we are beyond appreciative of the willingness to help make sure that we were taken care of so quickly. Couldn't ask for more. read more

Great experience with this company. My furnace stopped working a month ago, and being technical and mechanically inclined I spent a bit of time troubleshooting the problem. Unfortunately, my conclusion of what was the problem was not something I could fix myself. I called Comfort Plus, and no one answered. I left a message and the owner himself called me back that afternoon. Even though I had a good idea of what was wrong, he explained the process the tech would use in diagnosing it themself, and what the service charge would go to. The tech was out the next day and performed a through diagnosis... and came to the same conclusion as me of what was wrong. He and the owner both walked me through my options from repair all the way up to full furnace replacement. They even detailed the rebate eligibility from the manufacturer due to the fault being a design defect. In the end I chose full replacement. After I spoke to the owner and authorized the work, his techs were out the next morning for the new install and were done by the afternoon. Kevin and Andrew did a spectacular job on the install. Kept the work area clean and were very respectful of my home and my family. They took the time to really familiarize me with different aspects of the new system. I honestly can't say enough good things about this company. I was fully expecting a sky-high quote and to be patronized and to feel taken advantage of in a situation like this; and that absolutely did NOT happen with Comfort Plus. The technical explanations were thorough, the decision making process was low-pressure, and at the end of the day I feel I got a very fair deal. Highly recommend working with this company. read more

Woke up today on new years day to a house that was hovering just above 50 degrees. I called three other business before contacting Comfort Plus. None of the other companies answered. Chris gave me an estimate of 12-2 and was over at 1:30 and was able to replace our flame sensor. The house call alone was $280 due to it being a holiday, but he was up front about the cost on the phone before arriving. Quick and efficient, and he even gave us recommendations for the future of our furnace based on their work at our house with the previous owner. I will be using them in the future! read more

My air conditioner decided to go out last night and I wasn't sure who to call. The previous owners had this company's sticker on the furnace so I gave them a call this morning. Within 3 hours they were at my house. The repair men were very courteous and knowledgeable and had the problem diagnosed within 5 minutes. This recent heat wave hit and my ac was just not cutting it. I called 5 different places, (while my wife was complaining). My previous provider said the earliest they could see me was June 16 (11 days from my problem). Another company had a recorded message--"If you're not already our customer, we can't help you." Two others I left messages, with no call backs. Comfort Plus owner Chris Tranfort called back within 20 minutes, and said on Friday--we're booked solid, the earliest we can see you is Monday, unless we get a cancellation". I said ok. Saturday at 2 p.m., Nick from the company showed up, unannounced. He was great! He was masked, covered his shoes, and got to work. He was knowledgeable, efficient, cooperative, and talked me through everything. We're cool, and the price was more than fair. They took the time to really diagnose our issue with our furnace when it stopped pumping out heat a couple of weeks ago. Being that I know absolutely nothing about HVAC systems, his team could have told me the the problem cost a couple of thousand dollars to repair and I really wouldn't have known the difference. However, the issue was a faulty part that cost next to nothing to replace. we are so impressed and grateful for the customer service and speediness of comfort plus. we contacted them through yelp late at night when our furnace died. by 5am i had a response from them and an appointment for 11am. chris came on time and explained the problems with both our dead furnace and our leaking water heater. long story short we ended up replacing both that same day. chris discussed all of our options and the various products they have. we were able to get low interest financing through michigan saves and genisys credit union. within 24hours of contacting them chris and his team replaced our furnace and water heater- amazing service! they were professional and cleaned up and after themselves. we have a young child at home and couldn't risk waiting for our furnaced to be repaired while having single-digit weather. we will definitely use them from now on and recommend comfort plus to everyone we know. read more

I made the appointment on a Saturday afternoon for them to come out on Tuesday. I was out of town on a business trip, so my wife handled the visit. They contacted her Monday afternoon and offered her the option of moving up the service call to Monday early evening, since their previous job finished early. My wife was ecstatic to accept. The visit lasted less than an hour, and they resolved the issue with our AC with an inexpensive fix to get us by (Permanent fix would have been to replace the entire condenser, which we wanted to avoid). They walked her through the repair and explained everything to her. We plan to hire them to inspect the Furnace / AC at the property we will be moving to at the end of the month. I was referred to Comfort Plus from a friend of mine who uses them for all of his furnace and air conditioning service. I had water coming out of the furnace and I didn't know what was going on. Chris the owner came out and after a quick look at the inside of my furnace, he noted a minor clogged drain line and fixed it in minutes. I was worried that I needed a new furnace or air conditioner.
