This is not to be confused with Comfort ZONE, which is also in Royal Oak - this is Comfort ZONES…read moreHeating & Air Conditioning. I made a Yelp page for them since the other business already has an established Yelp page. Last Tuesday, I noticed my hot water heater making odd noises, after I took a bath that night. I went to look and sure enough, there was about a half-inch of water on the floor. Last year I experienced a massive house flood, so I definitely didn't want that to happen again. I have an Appliance Plan with Consumers Energy so I called them, and they outsourced it to Comfort Zone. Comfort Zone showed up at my house the next morning, diagnosed the problem (water landing on top of the flame, apparently), and were able to install a new water heater the same day, which was great. The cost was $1470, which sounds like a lot but Lowe's was quoting me $1650+ that same day, too. The reason for the three stars is that they aren't great at answering the phone. The next day after the water heater installation, one of my sinks was operating at about 60-70% of its former water stream, so they said they'd send someone down to look at it (this was Thursday). By 4-5pm Thursday I hadn't heard back from them and no one had shown up, I left them a voicemail to say Friday would be fine. I called again Friday morning and got voicemail again; I said that 3:30pm would be the latest I could have someone over on Friday. Sure enough, at like 3:25pm one of the techs, Cory, did show up, and was able to fix the problem ... but there was no communication from either him or Denise, the receptionist (and possibly owner?), about this. That being said, I'd still use them again because they were able to quickly diagnose the problem + install a new water heater on the same day, so I didn't have to stay somewhere else overnight, since I had to turn off the water to my entire house.

It's not something you need to have done every year, but you also don't want tumbleweeds blowing through your ducts and returns. The techs talked me through the whole process ahead of time, and then worked with me to do a portion of the house at a time so I could move my dogs around so they wouldn't be in the way. They were very polite and explained what they had to do at each step, and answered my daughter's questions. There was one portion of the house that apparently hadn't been cleaned at the same time the rest of it had, and they showed me what portion that was. At the end, they told me (and showed me) a couple of spots they added foil tape to, in order to ensure that they were sealed up well, and a couple of plugs they replaced from a cleaning done by the former owners. Then to finish off, they showed me the pictures and emailed them to me so I could see the before and after, and gave me a recommendation for how long we could wait until the next cleaning. I highly recommend them.

The truck was out with the vacuums and suctions. They were neat, clean and professional. They did make several holes I hit my air ducts to access the many sections of my air ducts throughout the house. It cost us about $325-$350 per floor.
