I was in town visiting my family for the Thanksgiving holiday. We woke up Saturday morning with no heat and the furnace wouldn't turn on. After searching for a HVAC company that was open, I came across the listing for Express Heating and Cooling. I decided to give it a shot. When I called they were unable to send someone out until Monday. I sent my address expecting a call back on Monday before noon. But in less than 15 minutes I got a text back saying that there was a service technician in my area who could stop by. Here's how quick they took care of things: 1:40 pm - I called for the first time. 1:47 pm - I sent my info to set up the Monday appointment 1:59 pm - Got a text saying there might be someone in my area 2:04 pm - Got a call from the service technician saying he could come out now 2:57 pm - Didn't pay attention to what time he arrived, but the service technician came over, inspected the furnace, solved the problem, and left within the hour. And the best part, the he didn't charge me for his time! I will wholeheartedly recommend Express Heating and Cooling and when our furnace does finally give out, I will have them replace it!

He took full ownership of the situation and never tried to cover anything up or make excuses. He sent out his most experienced technicians to thoroughly go over the system and determine whether there was an issue that had been missed over the years or whether the unit ultimately needed to be replaced. They were finally able to determine that the AC had been installed incorrectly. While I'm certainly not thrilled that an improper installation wasn't identified during the multiple service calls we've had over the years, I do want to give credit where credit is due. Once Peter and his team became involved, they were extremely solution-focused and committed to getting to the bottom of the problem. I also learned that Peter was not the owner when I originally purchased the AC, which makes me even more appreciative that he stepped up and took responsibility for an issue that technically predated his ownership. He assured me that, one way or another, we would get the situation resolved, and I respect that. One thing that really stood out to me throughout this process was how highly each of the technicians spoke of one another. Every gentleman I interacted with this week had nothing but positive things to say about the rest of the team. It was very obvious that they have each other's backs and are all working toward the same goal. At the end of the day, I'm still disappointed that it took this long and this many service calls to uncover the installation issue. However, I believe in giving credit where it's due, and Peter and his team deserve recognition for how they handled things once they became aware of the problem. Their communication, willingness to investigate, and focus on finding a solution made a significant difference. ***************************** We have had ongoing issues with our AC system since purchasing a new unit from this company five years ago. From the beginning, the system has struggled to keep up and has consistently run nearly 24/7. After having the team come out multiple times to troubleshoot the issue, I ultimately had to have the system and other aspects of my home thoroughly evaluated. I was eventually informed that the AC unit installed was improperly sized and too small for our home. This has resulted in years of frustration, along with thousands of dollars in additional utility costs and service fees trying to diagnose and address the problem. I'm extremely disappointed that a new system was installed incorrectly in the first place and that it took multiple service calls and significant expense to determine the root cause.

I want to tell you that every time I have needed them, they have responded. They "move with purpose". I never forgot that about them because heating and cooling is an essential amenity. The first time we called Pete's we had bought a house that had no furnace, central air or duct work. A huge project, expensive all by itself. We had a new baby and had to be ready to move from our apartment into the house within weeks. The level of coordination and care that Pete's has is unheard of! Even when there are other contractors involved such as electricians, they all work together with such professionalism, respect and synchronization that you literally cannot tell that they all do not work for the same company. This is no small thing if you have ever had any large projects done on your home that involved several subcontractors. It can be a nightmare, cause delays and eat up your money and sanity. The quality of work, peace of mind and overall satisfaction was worth what we paid. I believe that we received a good value on the work to begin with. The ease during the project was a bonus. This most recent time, we needed an independent heating and cooling system for the upper floor/attic space. The second levels to bungalows can be brutal in extreme heat and extreme cold. Of course, I only trusted Pete's to handle this for us. I knew that I was going to get the best deal on the unit, the labor, any sub work. I knew I would be given options on the unit to fit my needs and budget. I knew it was going to be done as quickly and efficiently as possible. I knew the guys would come in, go to work, respect my home, be polite to my kids, clean up after themselves and walk me through all the details on how to use the unit and maintenance it. Once you have tried Pete's you will know whom to call the next time.

The technician said twice that if I called back within 30 Days we wouldn't have to pay an additional $99 service fee. The $99 service fee we paid on January 31 would cover the 2nd visit cause they couldn't properly diagnose the problem. I called mechanical heating on February 23, and was told I would have to pay an additional $99 for the technician to come back out. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me they would not honor what the technician told us because it was not their policy and they didn't care what he said that I would have to pay another $99. And when I challenged them, they yelled at me and hung up On me. I didn't call back because it was useless, but not only the tech that came out but the manager that I spoke with Were , both rude and disrespectful.
