I recently had an air conditioning system installed by Freedom Air Mechanical and was very pleased. I feel I got a good quality air conditioner at a reasonable price with excellent service. Dennis, the owner, answered all my questions; Crystal, who works in the office, went out of her way to help me; and the installers were thorough and did a good job. I would highly recommend this company to others. read more

So quick to respond to my message and schedule someone to come out! They kept me updated along the way, gave me an accurate window, and didn't leave me waiting at home all day! Then they explained what needed to be fixed and clearly showed me why it needed new parts, would recommend these guys to anyone! read more

I worked with Crystal. She immediately understood my issue and it was addressed immediately. I had no heat with 20 plus degree weather Called the "advertised company" and they gave me a four day wait. Too cold to wait. This company and the professional tech, Ron, were outstanding. I recommend them highly. read more

I had an AC emergency.... on the weekend.... at night. I reached out to Dennis through yelp and he was super responsive and ready to help. His responsiveness immediately put my mind at ease that the problem would be figured out and solved. He and his team came out and checked out my system and took steps to identify and fix the problem. After everything was done, he followed up to make sure the problem was indeed solved. Not only am I extremely happy with the service that I recieved, I have the piece of mind that I can call Dennis and his team if I ever have any HVAC needs (or emergencies) in the future. read more

I'm a loyal customer for life! I can't thank Dennis at Freedom Air Mechanical enough for the quick and easy service. Not only that but the customer service is top notch. Crystal contacted me right away and kept me up to date of when I would be scheduled in with an expected arrival time of service. I can't thank this company enough! A+++ read more

Super nice guy. Called Dennis on a holiday and he was out the next morning at 9am!! Honestly, Fast and Reliable. Would not call anyone else! read more

Dennis responded to my request for a quote quick! He was able to provide a ballpark estimate over the phone then came out next day for a written estimate. Affordable!!! He and his team were able to replace my existing central air unit within 3 days! The process took a little short if 4 hours and there were no hidden fees or surprise extra costs. They arrived on time, worked diligently, did a good job cleaning up behind themselves, explained what was done after installation, and walked us through the warranty process. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Freedom Air Mechanical for your HVAC needs! Thanks Dennis! read more

Summer 2020. In a time fraught with so much national unease, sickness and quarantine, the days turned unbearably HOT. Day 5 of 90°+, high-humidity weather, with at least 5 more on the way. My central air unit was angry, and decided it had had enough. With a prolonged, whining scream, the unit abruptly retired with a final, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. PEACE OUT, MY FRIENDS- ENJOY THE HEAT!" What was I to do? I've been stuck working from home for months, and had neither refuge nor respite from the heat. At 6pm on a Tuesday afternoon, in a panic, I blasted a desperate plea for help into the vastness of Yelp. And waited... ...but alas, my wait was not long at all! Within minutes, Dennis from Freedom Air Mechanical answered my call. He offered to assist the following evening, and given the current climate, I was completely shocked that ANYBODY would be able to help with that short of a timeframe. True to his word, Dennis arrived the following evening. Mask on and socially distanced (these are COVID-19 times, friends), he immediately got to work and had the unit back-in-action within 15 minutes. And the price was the opposite of "sticker shock," it was the most reasonably thing I've paid for all year. The urgency, professionalism and courtesy shown by Dennis and his crew from Freedom Air Mechanical was impeccable. I hope to never have to call him again, but if the need arises, I'll do so without hesitation. Highest possible recommendation! read more

My HVAC failed all of a sudden. Freedom Mechanical was one of the contractors that provided a free written estimate. I also wanted to take advantage of DTEs rebate program for authorized contractors. Dennis arrived when he said he would, provided timely answers to my questions and assured me that the job would be done to my satisfaction. After experiencing a snafu with my existing programmable thermostat, Dennis researched the problem and came back the next morning with a solution. I am very happy that my issue was resolved efficiently and I now have a brand new energy efficient furnace with a new whole house humidifier and working wifi thermostat. So glad to have my AC back in time for the heat and holiday! Great job!! read more

Highly Recommend! My experience with Freedom Air Mechanical was great. Needed a new furnace. Had a few quotes that were a bit too expensive. Reached out to Freedom after reading the reviews. Dennis followed up right away. Sent him pictures of my furnace and he gave me a quote via text. Quick and painless. I asked about financing. He let me know financing was available and he'd send me a written estimate with a link to finance options. He checked in with me later to see if I had received it. When I let him know I had not gotten it he apologized took 100 off my estimate and sent it to me right away. I was very impressed with his integrity and level of customer service. I ended up not doing financing and had to save up for the job. I reached out to Dennis three months later and he remembered me and offered to schedule me in two days. He texted me the day before service to answer any questions. He had several convenient payment methods including CashApp and Zelle. A technician arrived 15 minutes early. He was very personable and professional. He explained what he was going to do and immediately got started. Another technician arrived and began installing my new furnace. He was also very professional and considerate letting me know what was going on when necessary. They got everything done without any disruption to my household. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing HVAC service. Thank you Dennis! read more

They forgot my appointment time. Then the tech didn't even know what service I needed.

Dennis is fast, fair, and so efficient! As an out-of-state landlord, it can be really tricky to find quality contractors. The bad news is, we had two AC units go out this year in two different buildings, but the good news is Dennis fixed both of them within a day each time. It's great to feel confident that we have someone we can trust! Don't bother calling around, just call freedom air! read more

They showed up before the allotted time frame. Dennis and his crew worked diligently to diagnose the problem, unfortunately it was too costly and made no sense to fix the old 20+ year old unit. Dennis gave me a rough estimate for a new unit and sent over an estimate shortly after leaving. I would recommend and use Freedom Air again! read more

Showed up promptly and was super friendly (mask on and shoes off was a plus). Helped diagnose an issue, but wasn't sure if it completely fixed the problem since the AC would need to be run for a full day, so he didn't charge a service fee. Don't see that too often with a lot of these other companies trying to squeeze every penny out of you. Will definitely call for any future HVAC needs. read more

I'm really happy with Freedom Air! I contacted them to get maintenance on my AC unit so it wasn't an urgent appointment but Dennis was really quick to respond. Not only was he easy to schedule with (yelp message) but he was on time and super nice. He didn't try to upsell at all and definitely seemed to know what he was doing (I've had some horrible experiences before). read more

My A/C wasn't blowing as strong as it should was was struggling to keep up. Turns out the R22 was low. He came out did his thing and we are back up and running. Super fast response time, friendly, prompt, fair prices. Left me a quote for anew unit since mine is well beyond the expected life expectancy. Would recommend and use again. read more

I was searching for a neighborhood company that could fix my A.C unit but none were available for days! Freedom Air responded quickly, and came to my home swiftly too! I'm so happy and relieved that I can be cool. Thank you so much for being fast and reliable. read more

Dennis did an amazing job! He was knowledgeable and friendly, and on-time. I can't stand when businesses give me a three hour time frame and you never know when to expect them. Freedom Air gave me an actual time, and they arrived at that time. The quote was simple, and the actual price came in as we discussed. I love being able to support family owned, local businesses. And he told me he was a veteran too. LOVE IT!! Highly recommend for furnace and A/C replacement. read more

We are a small " Mom and Pop" business ". We own rental properties. During the June flood this year, we lost four furnaces, in four of our income properties. It was a hot sticky day! We had four very unhappy families looking to us to solve the problem. Freedom Air Mechanical showed up like the Calvary! They were on time, courteous and professional. They replaced all four furnaces in the same day! Thanks Sir! You made us look good in the eyes of our the tenants...and that's a pretty tall order these days. read more

Highly recommended! So I've lived in my home for 5 years, I finally decide to have someone take a look at the AC (which hasn't worked since BEFORE I bought the house per the previous owner). I get on Yelp and do a quick search like I usually do and start to jot down companies with great reviews. I click "black owned companies" and only one HVAC company showed up...no reviews. I'm skeptical, but send out a message anyway at 127pm July 3rd. He messaged me back at 128pm, one minute later. We confirm he would come by the day after the 4th of July (A SUNDAY!) and he did. He was very polite, on time, knowledgeable, accommodating, and professional. He gave me a quote and two days later came to install my new AC unit! Other companies scheduled me days to a week out to even come assess the situation. There were no hiccups, no unexpected or added costs, everything was very smooth. He moved things out his way and put them right back in place when he was done. 10 year parts and 5 year labor warranty was included. His prices were even more affordable than the competitors. I made sure to make a review so that others can be aware of his amazing work and not be skeptical like I was in the beginning! Hire him! read more

AC stopped working. Was a very old unit. Dennis responded to my service request very quickly, had a new unit in stock and replaced it without any fuss. I have had the unit for a couple of months now and there have been no issues, works great. Thanks so much! read more

I needed my AC unit removed for sewer line repair. Dennis asked for a picture of the AC and gave me a fair quote right away. The next morning, AC was removed! Great owner and great company! read more

I absolutely love the service. They were on time patient understanding and a Black owned business

Highly recommend this company. My AC went out Friday at 2p on an 84 degree humid Detroit day. I was surpised to find that after some correspondence, I was not in their service area. Yelp mistakenly matched me with this company. Because of the time it took the company to realize, Dennis the owner, felt responsible enough to come out the next day on a Saturday and replace the needed part. Needless to say I paid him extra! I am now sitting inside at 72 degrees 2 days later while it's 90 outside. Hat's off to a company with great ethics. If I never need service again I will be returning. read more
