My home is nearly 100 years old and uses a boiler and radiators for heat and a high velocity SpacePak system in the attic for air conditioning. I bought the home in 2020 and it had been flipped, so you know it has its fair share of quirks. Dave and the crew have serviced all aspects of our heating and cooling systems at this point, from smaller boiler issues to much larger AC issues. The AC system was basically falling apart when I moved in and they helped me get a few extra years out of it. This past spring, we finally pulled the trigger on a complete replacement. Dave came to look everything over again and gave me a few different quotes to choose from. The team dismantled the old system and installed the new one in about a day and a half. Great! But once summer rolled around and I started using the new system, I found that it wasn't cooling like it should. Uh-oh. Dave and the crew put in countless extra hours and additional labor (at no cost to me) until it was all running correctly. It turned out it was no problem with their installation (not that I had any doubts) but with some very specific and hard-to-detect issues with the manufacture of the condenser unit (which was brand new from the manufacturer). I was blown away that Dave and his team would put in so much extra effort to get to the bottom of things and that they maintained their usual friendly, professional attitude even though it was a frustrating situation for them working in a hot attic! All along the way they were very communicative and had ideas and plans and back-up plans and kept at it until they solved the problems. I'm so happy I went with Dearborn Heating and Cooling for this work. I can't imagine another crew would have had the same commitment to quality or the level of knowledge needed to solve such a specific, unexpected issue. They really stand by their work and won't stop until the customer is happy, which feels really rare these days. But then, this is a family business that's been at it for over 80 years, so they know what they're doing! Big thanks to Dave and the whole team. You guys are heating and cooling heroes!

The tech performed work and charged us without asking. All we need was a switch flipped and a filter changed. They charged an extra $75 on top of the $90 diagnostic for work we could have performed for free ourselves. Very unhappy to be charged for work I didn't ask him to complete. Be sure to hawk over any tech working on my home from now on to ensure you are properly charged. - The issue is not that I don't think they performed work, rather that they should have presented the charges before completing the work as they were called for a diagnostic. I'm not sure how you can diagnose without checking pressures and refrigerants. So if all of that was "free extras" what was the extra $75 charge for???

Brian came to help me with my outside compressor unit and my central air in basement as it wasn't blowing air or operating. He spent probably 3.5 hrs and charged me for little over 2 hours and helped me change my wiring to my compressor for free too! Extremely nice guy and doesn't try to rush anything. He was so nice and took his time to help and answer any question I had. Even though it was past 8pm and he worked all day, i found out he still had a service after mine for a corporate facility which was over an hour away! I was impressed with his patience + time he took with me and was also lucky that his corporate service after didn't require him there at a specific time. He was also really good at talking to my insurance companies and knew how to communicate effectively when I had little to no success. He even offered to help me install my nest thermostat for free when I decided to get a new compressor unit later this year! Also I was low on freon and he charged me to recharge but stated when I decided to get a new compressor he could deduct the recharge cost out as well. By the time he left I had cool air and everything was working as it should! He was pretty much on time and called about 45 mins prior letting me know he be about 15 mins late which was no big deal and great that he called. Brian was honest, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, kind, caring, and everything you would even want or expect! I've never been happier with someone that came to repair something in my home! I'd give more than 5 gold stars if I could!

I am writing this review for Air Clinic BEFORE they performed any work. I will write another review…read morelater (or update this one, whichever works here). You want to consider this an intermediate review, but just imagine how much value I have already received from working with Air Clinic and how impressed I am by their expertise and responsiveness only a great family business can provide. You will not find that anywhere else. I know because I just tried! In three weeks I spent a total of 5+ hours with 6 top companies in my area that do heating and cooling incl. Mitsubishi Diamond mini-split pros for my 3650 sqft house and all of them miserably failed providing an idea of how they work will solve my problem. Now, Air Clinic's approach to problem solving is fundamentally different from other companies I have EVER interacted with in the US. It's not a money-first approach. In most situations, Air Clinic will not ask you about your budget to create a solution for your budget (This is so dumb that solutions are money-driven! I hate those looks in technicians' eyes, like how much you are worth. Not with Air Clinic, though)... In stark contrast to those other companies, Air Clinic's absolute initial focus will be solving your problem. This is why this is a solution-first approach. You will be presented with the best possible options for your situation. This can ONLY be done by someone who is truly on top of things in their field and ONLY after they have spent enough time (hours?) analyzing your particular situation. At the end, YOU will be the one asking yourself what fits your budget. How does that sound? To me, this is the old-school best-quality service! Yesterday was a Friday and I called Arthur around 6 pm and described my HVAC problem to him. He asked if he could come right away. I was more than happy to hear that, because just before the call I was ranting to my family about all these HVAC companies that came to my house and gave me stupid solutions, then followed up with insane estimates. I was out of options. And then a friend of ours gave me Arthur's phone number. Arthur came with a fellow technician Artak from Madison Heights to Farmington Hills at 7:30pm, less than 1.5hrs after my call. This was not even a service call and not an emergency, it was a Friday night. Apparently, I sounded so frustrated, they ran to help me get things out of my head. They are a 24/7 service, by the way... My 1100sqft basement is currently a huge HVAC utility room, and because of that it can also be used as a storage space and that's all. Tens of thousands of dollars were spent by the previous owner and this was the best other companies were able to do. Arthur and Artak spent 2 hours at my house. We beat the problem to death, every detail, every error was discussed, nothing was left without. And only after we felt we were on top of things and a great solution was born for my very, very complicated case, we stopped and sat down to drink some tea and share some laughs and stories. I was so happy and relieved. We decided to move the work to September before the next heating season. I will return here for an update after Air Clinic is done with the implementation of the solution we decided to go with.
