Workers came to my block to help a neighbor move. They blocked entirely the sidewalk and street off. When I went for a walk with my daughter we had to walk out into the street to get around because the workers thought it was hilarious they made it impassable otherwise. We tried to pass the other way and were laughed at and smirked at by the employees. So yeah kind of douches in my opinion. I wouldn't use this service for sure. read more

Absolute worst customer service. Didn't even get to the moving part because I had to cancel 2 days prior. I originally requested an August 1st move date and then requested to change it to July 28th, but MHM put my move in date for July 27th. The customer service rep I first spoke with was laughing on the phone over the issue and said "I wish I had a magic wand to fix this, but I don't" and was then told her managers were reviewing the issue and I could speak to them, but it would pull them away from helping me find a resolution (as if this was my fault and I was the burden). She then laughed as we got off the phone and told me good luck. Spoke to another rep the next day that was calling to confirm my move date of 7/27 and I told him it should be 7/28. He promised me a call back since he would personally fix the issue. Never heard back and just told them to cancel the move. Their email response? "Your move has been cancelled." No apology. They damaged my garage door, walls, trim, broke pieces of my dryer, scratched the side of my washer, damaged the sofas feet by forcefully pushing it through the door instead of unscrewing the feet, scratched my brand new floor by pushing the refrigerator and offered $100 to compensate for all these damages. Company is a big joke. I had the worst move I've ever had. I must have moved 12 times in my life including 4 times over different continents. I've never seen such a bad joke. They pay their movers 15$/hour charges you 75$. They were totally untrained. But the worst part is the company. You sign 5 guys at 9am 4 shows up at 11am. They couldn't get the job done so they try to charge me for a new crew that won't come for another week. One hour later and an unnecessary screaming contest and a threat of a bad review (all they care about). Read all the fine prints 3 times or you'll pay more for a terrible service. My last conversation was to dispute a charge of 400$ I didn't understand but their argument I signed the contract (right that said 5 guys not 4 and one day not too). Ok well I can't see the value proposition. Got a 2000$ service charged 4000$ and it went wrong and you're not sorry. This is my second time using Meathead Movers, first time writing a review. The first move was 6 years ago, and we needed help getting everything up the stairs to our new place, so I took a chance with Meathead Movers. They came over for an in-house estimate, quoted me a price, and then worked with me to find a solution that best met our needs. When they arrived in the day of the move, they wasted NO time, and got right to work, under my direction. Holy cow, they were efficient and FAST. It's no lie- they jog when they aren't carrying your things. They had our 24' truck unloaded in around an hour, my jaw dropped. Absolutely no wasted time. Now that we are moving again, no surprise that we needed help with these stairs again, so of course I called Meathead Movers again. I had them booked for two hours and literally ran out of things for them to carry. They did not disappoint and I always recommend them to people. Oh! October 6th 2023 was a crushing disaster. I sent photos of the most valuable items (to me) to the Meathead Movers the night before the scheduled moving day. Upon their arrival, I once again told them to be very careful in handling the items. They reassured me that they were professional and well trained. Within 35 minutes of moving my furniture to their truck, I was told my china cabinet was broken when one of the movers tried to move it out of the way by pushing on the glass front! Upon unloading the furniture into my new location, the person declared my nearly new 55" television was damaged and unrepairable. Do not hire this company! I'm writing to share my disappointment with our move experience. The service we received was NOT AT ALL what was promised. 1. We were promised 3 movers. TWO arrived. 2. They began at 9:30 and did not leave our origin until 3:09!! Way past the THREE HOUR time limit. The impact of having just 2 movers definitely affected their quantity of hours needed and their efficiency. 4. As of 4:55 pm, they still had NOT arrived to our new home to unpack. 5. I am so unsatisfied with this company. I chose a very quality price, expecting quality customer service and care. This is unacceptable. The 2 movers were very kind and hardworking. This was the worst move we have ever had and I had no idea how bad it was until 4 days later when I went to my old place to "grab a few things". We went all out because I had a broken leg! We hired packets, tipped over $500 for movers and packets, gave each mover cash to please come back tomorrow to make sure it's all done. Well, we were totally conned by them. Went to my old place today and everything except the furniture is still there. My comforters are on the ground. The kids bathroom had a box of all their toiletries just left in the bathroom. All my jackets and coats are there, all my pictures on the walk, HALF MY KITCHEN....toaster, Keurig, etc. Printer is just laying on the floor with all my other important things. We have to hire movers to move the remainder and pay another $700. Please do not ever use them or do not sign anything until you go back to the old place. I really thought I could trust them with my broken leg and cash tips to do the right thing while I went to the new place to unpack. I complained and not one discount was offered. They AGREED to remove my tip....that's it! The Manager called me today very considerate and empathetic and wants to make it right. He is planning to have everything moved out this weekend. That would be extremely helpful and I'd remove my review! I'll keep you posted! But I trust him, he does what he says! This company is a complete false advertising SCAM. They charge you for Each peice of furniture before they see it and before you are moved. They also charge you by every 15 minutes. My husband and I told the woman on the phone (Lisa) we needed 4 men for the job. We got the quote of $1500 minimum and $2700 not to exceed price (based on 8 hour day) sounds good, so we thought. They show up at 10:30am ONLY 3 movers. All overweight not in shape ! My husband had to be the fourth man and move EVERYTHING with them. The job wouldn't have gotten done if it wasn't for my husband putting in the work. After they loaded the Truck at the first house and the mover in charge (christian) tells us there's not enough room on truck for the rest of our belongings. (8 boxes, vanity , mirror, 6 stools and some gym equipment Is left) I call the office to tell them we need another truck or to do two trips. They refuse, telling us that we didn't notify them all of our furniture on the phone prior to move. At this point we stress to them we will pay more we just need everything to be moved today. They tell us we have to LEAVE THE REST of our belongings at the old house and it's not their responsibility because we didn't notify them of these items!!! At one point the movers were all talking and joking around downstairs while my husband was moving furniture upstairs by himself so the job could be finished faster; I had to tell the movers to go upstairs and help him because we are paying them to help. At the end of the day 10pm when we were finally done. The mover (christian) had the nerve to pressure us to write him a good review in front of him. There was Zero Professionalism. Movers took their masks off for long periods of time while in the house and were chatting to each other and to us in close proximities. That is unacceptable with COVID 19 social distancing requirements that were assured to us when we signed the Moving contract. So my Husband and I spent $2600 and 3/4 of our furniture and belongings are still sitting At the old house!!!!!!! We now have to rent a uhaul to move the rest of our things ourselves. Truly lifesavers!!!! We had a huge move with three moving trucks and a crew of 12. We had a two-story house that was 3100 square-foot and we moved into a 3800 square-foot home. I can honestly say that this crew was incredible. if you want to have an organized and professional move, Meathead is your crew. The Fresno team with Sammy as the coordinator was the best leader in making our move as smooth and efficient as possible. They were so quick to move over 200 boxes, wrap our leather couches and dining room table so perfectly and lift our huge and heavy dressers downstairs like it was nothing. The crew was so dedicated to make sure that every piece was placed in the correct room as well as in the correct position. They worked nonstop for five hours, and were so kind to our family as we were directing which boxes or furniture goes. I can honestly say that they are well worth every penny that we paid. I was beyond impressed that I also left a tip because I wanted to acknowledge not only did they have the best customer service, but they seem to be enjoying their job. The day could've easily been a nightmare if I did not hire Meathead movers. I have heard horror stories of other people that try to go with other companies that were cheaper and they had damaged furniture and other, unfortunate things happen. BUYER BEWARE! 1.They project a 3 hour move. If you don't hound them to keep moving they will drag their feet and make sure to take at least a couple extra hours. It will most definitely not take three hours. 2. They arrived 1 hour and 45 mins late for me and also had me wait over an hour for them after completion so their coordinator could go over the paperwork with me. 3.They write your credit card info down and they have been careless enough with the credit card info that 2 days later we have fraud on the account. Oddly enough, they wrote the expiration date down wrong so had to call me back for the correct date. The fraud activity used the wrong expiration date and it got declined.... obviously they didn't keep an eye on our sensitive information. Yes, we are looking into our legal options here. read more

We were very happy with Meathead. The estimate was accurate, the staff that was quoting listened to us and then gave us honest advice and an honest assessment. There were seemingly cheaper alternatives, but 30 minutes of reading made it clear that the other options weren't giving us the service we needed. Additionally, they hadn't taken the time to go through the house and do their homework. The movers themselves were respectful, strong, clean, and literally ran when they weren't carrying anything. Most importantly, after everything was done, there were only TWO scuffs on furniture. There is NO WAY my friends would have been as precise, fast, and careful. My move with Meathead went well overall. Every member of the moving crew was excellent though one was unable to even walk well, never mind jog, so you will not necessarily get athletic types on your crew. I was surprised to learn that instead of staying with my load the movers were going from Santa Barbara to a home depot in Bakersfield, staying overnight in their homes there, and then driving back to continue the move-one of the various cost savings choices made by Meathead and not as it had been outlined to me. The reason I am giving a two star review is because of what happened at the tail end of my contact with them, after I had paid and generously tipped both team members. It was then that the team lead started to request a 5 star Yelp review in return for a Starbucks coupon. I confirmed and documented this attempt to Yelp fraud and they concurred that it had taken place and that it did not conform to Yelp standards. It certainly did not conform to my standards, and it became apparent that the team lead's compensation was directly tied into gaining my cooperation. I had to decline 3 times before we could wrap the day up. Now you will have to think about the 5 star reviews you may read about Meathead and perhaps consider them differently than you may have otherwise. read more

The worst move ever!!!! These guys didn't even complete moving all of our furniture and other household items. You would think that moving a two bedroom house to another two bedroom house (only 8 miles away!!!!!) couldn't take more than a few hours with five "college athletes." For Christ sake, the box spring was upside down. Now my wife and I have to rent a truck and a few dudes from u-haul to finish the move and move heavy furniture upstairs. From easy bookings over the phone with several options to best fit my moving needs and budget, to Miguel and Steven who showed up EARLY to help with my move out of Long Beach. I really appreciated the safety protocols they have in place due to Covid-19 and never felt unsafe during the entire move. Miguel and Steven were the most efficient movers I've ever had (and I've moved A LOT). They bring their own shrink wrap to protect furniture and carefully wrapped all of my mirrors and wall art with moving blankets to ensure they weren't damaged. Avoid them at all cost. We used them to move from CA to WA and had a terrible experience. The salesman told us we only needed one truck, but that it would be a tight fit, but at most our bbq might not fit. Nobody ever came out to see how much stuff we were moving even though their offices were close by. They based it on 3 calls with my husband in which he went room to room telling them what we had. We ended up getting rid of the bbq and a lot of furniture we told them we would be moving, just to be on the safe side. On moving day, four movers loaded things up, and then at the end told us there was no room for everything in the garage, which included things they had moved from our house into the garage. We ended up having to leave over $4,000 worth of belongings as well as personal mementos. The company took no responsibility for this. We would have asked for 2 trucks had we been told that is what we needed. And then they only sent 2 guys to drive and unload in WA after we were told all the guys who loaded the truck would be going to unload in WA. My husband ended up helping the guys carry a couch up some steep stairs that could have resulted in them all falling and injuring themselves, or worse. As it was, my husband hurt his back. They were also unable to move our upright piano into the house, even though we told the salesperson we had a piano and some steps. In addition, our TV was broken in the move. We have called several times to report these issues and are always told a supervisor will call us back that day, but it has been 3 weeks and he has not. By far and away the WORST moving experience I have ever had, and I have moved a lot in my life. In summary, the concept makes sense - college athletes should be able to handle a move day, right? Negative. What this service lacks is the training, experience and professionalism of movers who do this for a living, and not just as a job to get them through college and on to the next gig. I shouldn't have had to coach them through moving things - there were times when I feared for the walls and floors, especially in the new place I moved to. Hire the professional movers at other companies who have been doing this for years, and at a less expensive rate for that matter. I have reached out to Customer Service several times regarding these issues, but there hasn't been a resolution, so here is my assessment thus far. I'll change my review if my issues are addressed, but if you are moving any time soon, you should know these issues today: 1. I have a slew of furniture that has to be replaced because the movers damaged it and did not handle with care. They didn't even discard it like I had asked them to - I had to ask my 10-year-old daughter to help me carry broken furniture from the 3rd floor to the ground floor dumpsters. 2. I have valuables that were damaged - frames, video footage from my pregnancy, etc - things that cannot be replaced because the movers were careless. The box was covered in broken glass. The pregnancy footage alone is priceless and now I have nothing from that time period. 3. There are boxes in my garage that were not carried to my 3rd floor apartment, clearly out of sheer laziness. I did not have those boxes marked for the garage and now I have to ask friends help me at some point. 4. I was asked to fill out a claims form for specs on the damaged items that I do not have - the furniture and valuables were given to me and I do not have that kind of information. It is completely insensitive and disrespectful. I do not understand what I paid $700 for??? I am completely unsatisfied and requested that a portion be refunded. I think it is reasonable that I am not asking for the full amount like others say I should have requested. I am scared to open the rest of my boxes and see what else might be damaged. On top of all of this, they double charged the account that I had funds in for this move, so that account was NEGATIVE $500+ dollars for 3 straight days because of this. Thank God it was only an expense account and not one of my main accounts that I use for everyday living, but still unacceptable. I had to call multiple times to have this addressed since there was no sense of urgency. CLEARLY I would not recommend this service to anyone if you value your belongings and want a successful move. Used this company to move a brand new dresser, night stand and chair.(moved 1.5 miles) They damaged the dresser to the point of non repair because a piece of the edge was gouged, pieces of the edge are missing. My movers were overall pretty good. One was very friendly and chatty.. The other, not so much. They were about 15 minutes late but worked quick and had everything packed up in an hour and a half. Once at the new place they unpacked and reassembled the furniture fast. Unfortunately there was damaged to my bed frame and mattress even though they wrapped the mattress before the move. A small hole in the foot of the bed and a big chunk out of the head board leg. They called the company for me and the lady at the company offered me a small discount which I only accepted after it sounded like it would take 3 months to get the claim filed (her words)... These guys rock! From contact, to the on-line Zoom inspection of what we had in each room to the actual move my wife and I were very happy. They showed up on time with three big trucks and 9 guys to move us from a 2800 sq ft home to a 2100 sq ft home in one day. They had us all packed in the trucks in 5 hours, then unpacked at the new home within 2 and 1/2 hours. All furniture assembled and in place, nothing damaged. My wife and I are very happy with the guys at Meathead Movers. The process of booking, getting the quote and the level of communication were all top notch. As we had questions leading up to the move, the office staff was always responsive. we needed some extra wardrobe boxes and they were there that same day. The price quote was competitive, and we booked. The team showed up with the promised trucks, number of workers, supplies on time. These young men were neatly dressed, exhibited the proper face masks and worked hard. They were quick, but not so fast that you would be concerned about your property. They were engaging and asked questions about some specific items to make sure they were packed correctly and upon arrival that they were placed correctly. Upon arrival at our location, these guys really helped out as we navigated boxes and crates to the correct rooms. They were patient when it came to us positioning some furniture and helpful in some re-arranging. Turned out the actual price, which was well explained by the foreman Alejandro, was a bit cheaper than originally quoted. I highly recommend these guys. read more

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS! These movers broke most of my kitchen bowls and plates and they packed them before the move. The movers do not care about your belongings at all! I moved a half mile and had to go back and forth between houses to manage another moving crew because they showed up with a truck that was too small. They also threaten to stop the move half way through because they realized the truck was not big enough for a 2100 sf move. They tried to take my moving cost from the quoted and not to exceed $3,026 to over $6,000! Fernando the manager off site was a jerk too. In the end after much heated discussion I did not pay $6,000, but $4300 just to get my stuff moved and get them out of my house! Winston was the guy leading the move and a total pompous arrogant jerk! I found out a week later after my handyman was trying to hook up dryer that they basically yanked it out of the wall and let all the venting system behind!!! They did not care where anything went and did not ask, remember I was not always there because I had to mange two crews. My son was at the new house and afterwards we moved furniture around. I just wanted them out of my house. At the end they did now want to accept my final check! It was an absolute mess! My moved from MA to CA in 2008 was easier!
