I got the bbq pork and duck with chips (not donut). Chips add the crunch! The duck did not have a gamey flavor and was super tender. No chewy ness at all. AANNNDDD. You HAVE to get some hot sauce. I went here with my girlfriend that grew up in China and this is something they ate as a child. Neither of us were impressed. The dish is meant to be made fast (in China these are made on street carts) and it does take some skill to keep up with the pace, but this place is on the slower side. The crepe is overloaded with grease. The heavily oiled donut plus chili powder overpower the taste of everything else. There's no balance to the taste. The kitchen is in the main area with poor ventilation so expect to have the smell of the food on your clothes as you leave. On a positive note, the soy milk is tasty. Wanted to grab a quick late lunch on a Sunday afternoon while shopping in Old Town but this place was soooo busy! They only have 2 employees and 2 crepe makers so the wait was going to be about an hour for a jian bing. We really wanted to try it, so we placed our orders and just came back for them. We tried the double down and peking duck jian bings and checked in for the free soy milk. The meat in both were tender and tasty, with just the right amount of sauce. I'd come back if I was really craving a jian bing, but other than that, they are pricey for what you get. Service was super friendly though! read more

Me + Crepe is a Chinese Jian-Bing establishment located on Green Street, just off the main drag of Fair Oaks and Colorado. It's currently only offering take out, but even pre-Covid I would say this place is more a take-out establishment than a sit down restaurant. If you're not familiar with Jian-Bing, it's a usually a Chinese breakfast item a la a breakfast burrito, filled with a protein, accompaniments like the Chinese Churro and preserved vegetables wrapped up in a crepe with the unusual difference of the egg being cooked into the outside of the crepe. It's a perfect walking food and perfect for takeout. This place was pretty decent with a good selection of proteins and sides like tofu and soy milk. I would say their HK BBQ Jian-Bing was good, a tad spicy, but not overly dominant and their Peking Duck was quite flavorful. The one knock I'll give the two items purchased was both were a tad salty, but YMMV. While it is a tad out of the way, I feel like the uniqueness of the product makes this establishment worth the extra effort of discovery. read more

Oooh today we went and had the Souryuu sausage jianbing, and the double down. We had a little spicy sauce added to both, and some green onion, and our sweet, lovely, fun cashier hostess (Thank you, Tiffany!) fortunately recommended I add corn/Japanese mayo to my Souryuu and that was just NEXT LEVEL. We also added the soy milk and tea marinated egg as well! I had my soy milk warm and my husband had his cold. I love it warm - I feel like the flavor of the soy milk comes out more that way. It reminds me of the fresh soy milk we used to get from the stores before all of the American brands of soy milk came out. There's a stronger soy/tofu flavor which I love and it's slightly sweet. The tea marinated egg tasted like the eggs my mom used to make... hard boiled egg with a cracked shell that's been cooked in a delicious soy sauce based marinade. It makes a beautiful pattern on the egg and the flavor is SO GOOD. I usually can't stand eating hard boiled egg yolk, but I'll eat it like this - when it's flavored in such a yummy way. Ok so the sausage jianbing - it was just perfection for me. It had just a touch of cumin in the sausage, I believe. The flavor was familiar and unique at the same time. It was a perfect breakfast with little bits of wonton crisps in it. Great texture and flavor. I'm so excited we got to have this today - I've been craving it for weeks. There are a lot of crepe restaurants in Pasadena, but none are Chinese/Asian. I was really excited to try Me + Crepe out and actually came back twice in a weekend because the wait for Saturday was so intense. I was told that the wait AFTER you order would be an additional 40/50 minutes.. not sure why it'd take so long since it's just a crepe. I had a chance to try their beef + cheese crepe which was really delicious, but super greasy. Their price point is at about $9/$10 per crepe and there are many options.. all savory. It's been a really popular spot since I spotted it on Eaters and would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to try it. Their hours are kinda wonky.. opens until 3pm.. so you would have to come earlier. Don't come on an empty stomach since there's probably a wait! Customer service here sucks.. the cashier was definitely not very friendly.. so don't expect much. read more

Even the person behind us walked out because she couldnt risk having her Lamborghini parked in the no parking zone outside for that long. Anyways, we specially came to old town pasadena to eat this dish because it's hard to find in LA. They need to fix this business model otherwise more customers will walk out. I did not get a chance to try their food because I was so disgusted by their attitude. I came here one afternoon 30 minutes before they close, want to buy a crepe to go. There are several people waiting outside, and no close sign shown. I waited a few minutes and asked by the counter if I can order to go, the waitress answered yes without looking at me, and then I asked if I can take a look at the menu, she took a glance at me and said "we are closed for today" she said in Chinese, the original sentence was"今天不做了"，in a condescending tone, as if I were to ask for something unreasonable. No sorry no apologetic attitude, just no. I walked away immediately and won't come back ever again . If you are closed for today, why don't you put a sign out? Why don't you update your hours? I wanted to like this place since you can't find these types of Chinese crepes anywhere else. So I hope the restaurant can really improve on the following: 1. There is simply too much sauce. I had the Japanese beef sauce which is already salty on its own. With the heavy sauce and the mayo lathered on the crepe, all you really taste is the saltiness of the sausage and the sauces. Also, they can probably benefit from adding more fresh vegetables like lettuce, avocado, etc., to balance out the saltiness of the protein and the sauce. 2. They really need to do something with the exhaust situation. My clothes smelled like the exhaust the entire day. Not only it smells bad, it's hazardous to your health. I feel bad for the workers there. 3. Price wise, it is too expensive for the value you're getting. They either have to provide more or just price them lower to get repeat customers. Otherwise, this is one of those places you try once and then you just forget about. I sincerely hope they listen and changes these changes. read more

As someone grew up in Beijing, where the chinese crepes originated from, I'm very picky on Chinese crepes. Before I came here, I was a little bit concerned when seeing those negative reviews on here about the saltiness of the crepes. Luckily, I decided to try it out and found out this is exactly how Chinese crepes are supposed to taste like. I have to say they are the best crepes I've ever had, even better than the ones I had in Beijing. All those people who say these crepes have too much salt or sauce, I'm telling you this is the way they should be! Please don't judge because of your ignorance, you're judging our culture and our tradition! The crepes of this restaurant are the REAL Chinese crepes that are loved by millions of Chinese people, and trust me, you won't regret after trying them out. My personal favorite flavor is the short rib+chinese donut+2extra eggs. You should definitely try this one out. Also, the one with foie gras is very creative and unparallel. You MUST try it! I'm very grateful and respectful that this restaurant is trying their best to bring the real crepes to LA and to spread our Chinese culture and tradition! I had the double down which it was suggested by the cashier as their top seller, but they put waayyyyy too much this sweet black bean paste sauce aka 甜面酱， on top of that the meats where already very seasoned, and on top of that it covered in additional chili, all wrapped in a thin (hard) skin. $12 bucks and 30min wait....one time is good for me. read more

Chinese twist on a crepe! I'm vegetarian and the garden crepe isn't on the menu by the register but they have this option - it's a large snack or a light meal filled with lettuce, corn and pickled vegetables. You can choose your spice level - I got medium and I liked it (not too spicy but I like spice). The thin crepe itself seems like it has egg and sesame seeds without an eggy flavor. I'm not sure of all the ingredients but I enjoyed this place! Also, a friend recommended to try their housemade soybean milk so I'll be trying that next time. read more

I am so glad that I can finally find Chinese tradition crepe in LA. I spend 40 dollars on Uber to try this out! And the wait was a bit long but it all worth the wait! So delicious! I saw Me + Crepe on a circulating food article on social media so I booked marked it. A few days later, I ended up coming to Me + Crepe. It was right around the corner from Copa Vida so grab your self a drink because the wait is ridiculously long for "street food." We were told that the wait was 45 mins but we didn't get our food for 60 mins. The cashier did warn us about the long wait but we opted to ignore it since we came to Pasadena to try this place. The cashier was very cordial and friendly which definitely helps especially as she tells you about the long wait.My partner and I ordered the double down and the pecking duck. The food was delicious, it wasn't too oily or over sauced. I definitely liked the food a lot. But the long wait and the price point overcame my like for the food. It is street food after all but I did expect to get "full" given that the items we ordered were $12-13 each. So when you come here just expect to have a light snack, not an actual meal. I suggest that you order two items per person if you're coming here for lunch. For a street food vendor, they definitely need to get better at expediting quality food at a shorter time or else they will not be doing so well. Will I recommend this place? Yes, the food is great but I'll definitely warn people about the long wait. I don't know where else I can get Chinese crepes so I hope they improve. Do I plan on coming back ? I really wish there were more jianbing places in the US- to my knowledge there aren't any in San Diego, which is a huge shame. I think they'd be really popular! This little place is tucked away off Green, just a 1 minute walk away from the busy Colorado Street. The staff is very kind (right now they are still doing take out only) and accommodating. My folks and I got the salted egg yolk taro, peking duck, and golden tuna jianbing. The verdict: Good, but when it comes to jianbing, I'd very much stick to the OG (with sweet bean sauce, pickled veggies, green onions, egg) jianbing that is tried and true. It usually costs like $2 USD in the streets of any major Chinese city and is phenomenal. My dad's peking duck one was closest to a standard jianbing, just with a heftier filling. My mom's was essentially just an egg wrap with tuna. Mine was tasty, but was lacking a bit in the flavor department. You'd think pork floss, taro, cheese, and salted egg yolks would be a major flavor party, but it was definitely more subdued than what I had expected. I wish I had some kind of sauce to brighten it up and should have taken up the staff's offer to add some spice to it. Price wise, I want to say they're a tad overpriced- wouldn't call this a cheap eat. I think I'd pay maybe 6-7 bucks on one, but 13 bucks for the PD, 13 for the taro, and 10 for the tuna was a bit high. Aside from that, they have some other dishes and snacks like grilled cold noodles, tea eggs, bentos, and tofu pudding. They also offer lamb and cumin, crawfish, and Hong Kong-style roasted duck jianbing which are some more intriguing flavors that might be worth shelling the $$ for. read more

I love lil places like this. May not be exactly what you find on the streets of Taipei, or Shanghai even, but I'm thankful we're at least getting more options like this in LA. Employee was super sweet to boot. Got the sausage, no cilantro, donut and spicy sauce, with the addition of cheese... it was pretty scrummy. The only unfortunate thing was that she got my order wrong and made me one with the crisp instead of the donut. Normally I would go back and ask for the correct order but I was in a hurry.
