Quaint homey restaurant great for breakfast or lunch. Mom and I stopped here to grab a bite for breakfast. The biscuits were my fave, eggs, grits, french toast and coffee were what we ordered. Everything was very good and Jordan was a wonderful waitress. We saw they had their lunch specials listed on a board and they were ready for eating @ 10:30am... fried chicken, mashed taters, greens, cobbler and a drink. Looked yummy! The best local diner food in Clarkesville. They've been closed this week and hope they're only going fishing. But this place is dynamite. Get the egg sandwich on toast or biscuit and you can't go wrong. Only locals here. But they still treated me with hospitality. A must in Clarkesville. This place is a throwback to the 70's. Meat and three plus breakfast for the locals. Some of the furnishings and customers are from the Eisenhauer era. Had a biscuit with gravy. Gravy had nice flavor, but was not sausage. Biscuit was above average. Staff was nice and surly. Will return. read more

The food was okay. Our waitress was apparently in an awful mood or maybe she's always like that. It was almost comical. Like maybe it lended a bit of character to the place. Yelp had me going to one place, but when I drove there ... nothing was there so I looked at restaurants near me on Google, saw Mc's and decided to give it a shot. I am SOOO glad I did. It's not a fancy restaurant, but what it lacks in "pretense" it more than makes up for in quality. And really, why do we need all that fancy anyway? It is set up cafeteria style and I got the standard meat and 2 veggie plate. I did chicken fingers, boiled cabbage, cream corn and unsweetened tea. It was all AMAZING and the staff was friendly and helpful to the newbies who obviously had no idea what we were doing. The restaurant is obviously patronized regularly by locals and they all seemed to know each other. I just LOVED it. It was also clean so 5 stars for that alone. we decided to try this place because of all the cars we saw out front. I gotta say I don't see what these people see in this restaurant. I got the country fried steak with biscuit and gravy, and that gravy was probably the worst gravy I have ever eaten. They had absolutely no flavor. The others at the table just like their meal, well I can understand seeing as how their biscuits sitting still and burnt. It got to the point where I was just eating for nourishment and no longer enjoying it. We found this place while traveling through the area. It has good home cooking, and the waitress we had was so nice and friendly. But the topper was when we were paying, we asked what kind of cake they had that day. It was Butter Pecan, so we got one piece to take with us to share. The food and prices here are good. I thought the menu was a bit confusing and plain. I ordered the biscuit , egg, and bacon sandwich. It was delicious. The coffee and tea were also good. The pancakes were delicious, but the french toast was just fair. Additionally, the reason I gave this place a 4 star rather than a 5 star, is because its dirty. In the corner booth where we sat, there was a dead fly. I was so grossed out!! It made me think how often they clean. Overall, good place, but they need to clean up their act. read more

My husband and I were headed out to breakfast and stop here mainly because the parking lot was full of cars so we decided to try it. I'm so glad we did. The staff was great! Super welcoming, nice, and helpful. The place was cleaner than any restaurant I've ever been in and they had a health score of a 100. My husband and I both had the breakfast plates and they were by far the best homemade breakfast we've had at a restaurant and the prices were really affordable.
