This place blew me away. The food was absolutely tasty and the offerings were amazing. If I had more time in Clayton, GA, I probably would have had all my remaining meals here. This diner is located in a back street, next to a market and close enough to a strip mall with restaurants. It's a quiet place although lots of people come in and out. We sat down, got our coffee, ate our meals, and wondered if we could eat more. The food was so tasty that we really wanted to take more food with us. I had a chicken fried steak and my gf had an omelette. Every table around us was busy eating, we were not the only ones who appreciated this food. Not sure how this place is so highly regarded, it was the most mediocre diner I remember ever having. The price was just OK, service was non existent the server never refilled my drinks or asked me how the food was, all of the food was bland, green beans tasted toxic like it has been marinating in preservatives for the last decade. I have never had issues with Sunday diner maybe a little pricey in my opinion but i get with food prices increase you have to increase your prices to make a profit but today my boyfriend and I ordered food from there and they completely undercooked my burger and the onion rings were hard as a rock when stated to cook soft not crunchy they were falling apart by just picking them up . Plus his burger was so soggy because apparently it's not a thought for them to put the toppings on a burger on the side when it's a to go order . Went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We were seated right away at the last booth available. Our server was quick to take our order & our food came out in no time. My husband ordered the home fried potatoes. They were cold. The server brought him a hot batch. My daughter ordered the "homemade" biscuit. It tasted like a frozen biscuit. Alright breakfast! Nothing too special but still good! I was pleasantly surprised! We always eat at Cupboard Cafe for breakfast in Clayton but decided to branch out and try something new. Sadly our server was very odd but he was trying. I had the Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich on an everything bagel, which also comes with avocado. The sandwich was great and tasted very fresh but I would probably get it without avocado next time. The breakfast potatoes were alright but not what I'm used to. They were hard to eat because they were kind of just a mess of soggy potatoes. Overall, I enjoyed Sunday Cafe, though, but Cupboard Cafe still reigns as the best breakfast in Clayton. read more

We headed here for a Saturday morning breakfast after reading the reviews. If I were to give it a more accurate review, I would rate it at three and a half stars. It is a bit expensive. The country fried steak and eggs was twelve dollars and also did not include toast. I will say that the steak was good, though under seasoned. The home fries were good and the eggs over easy were well prepared, though without toast to soak up the yolks, my breakfast felt somewhat incomplete. Also, corned beef has was absent from the menu. A nice add on to any breakfast meal. Our server was great, though we seen another young lady, chewing gum and obviously just going through the motions of having a job. The pancakes at the next table looked good (yes, I am guilty of being one of those people who look at the food coming out). Love the place for breakfast. I remember when I started going there it was a hole in the wall place with good food. Then they cleaned it up, and word got out, and now you have to wait to eat . Especially breakfast... the pancakes are the size of a large plate. I get them every time I go for breakfast.they have fresh food and have a seafood of Friday evening. Some all you can eat. Checked out this place after hiking at Black Rock mountain state park. It was a very friendly and delicious southern comfort food experience. The service was very attentive and sweet. We tried the bone in chicken that is prepared fresh (takes 15 to 20 minutes) with two sides and the country fried chicken. The portion sizes are very reasonable for around $9 to 12 meals. I thought the chicken was the star, as it was crispy but juicy inside. I thought all our food was pretty good but could have been just a little more flavorful. But i feel like they do that so people can add the salt to their liking. It was nothing some salt couldnt fix! Either way, overall it was a great experience. Fun decor. So... this was the breakfast I received today. BEC sandwich and their "home fried potatoes". The bacon on this sandwich is not even finished cooking. It's still pink. I laid a piece in the middle that was in another plate to show what a cooked piece looks like. Next to the sandwich are supposedly , the home fries potatoes.
