Great restaurant! Super nice staff. Excellent menu. Clean bathrooms & restaurant. The fried fish was lovely, light & crisp. Loved the sweet potato waffle fries. Corn nuggets are pretty good. Cream corn is decent. Thanks for a great meal!

Great food & great service! Hidden spot that's worth checking out! I would try the dessert!

Delicious chicken livers, fries with a cat head biscuits!

Service was very good, Chicken livers were cook perfectly, not dry and overdone like most places. Sides were very good also. It's just a little hole in the wall restaurant serving up excellent home cooking

Very good service. Average food. Good, wholesome, salt of the earth kind of breakfast. We came here exactly when they opened and they were prompt. Our server was very nice and I really hope he gets to realize his dream of working in SpaceX at some point in his life. My everything bagel sandwich was very good. The hash brown was a little oily. The French toast was pretty good too. The all-american breakfast was decent but the portion felt small. Pricing was ok. Lots of parking outside.

Alright breakfast! Nothing too special but still good! I was pleasantly surprised! We always eat at Cupboard Cafe for breakfast in Clayton but decided to branch out and try something new. Sadly our server was very odd but he was trying. I had the Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich on an everything bagel, which also comes with avocado. The sandwich was great and tasted very fresh but I would probably get it without avocado next time. The breakfast potatoes were alright but not what I'm used to. They were hard to eat because they were kind of just a mess of soggy potatoes. Overall, I enjoyed Sunday Cafe, though, but Cupboard Cafe still reigns as the best breakfast in Clayton.

I had the Brisket dip. It was amazing. I only have a pic of the cookie because I ate it all!

Solid country meal. My omelette was excellent. The pancakes are massive - I'd definitely recommend the extras in them, and know that you will take them home or waste a lot (which they feed to chickens!). Short wait but worth it overall. Nice people.

Country fried steak and eggs over easy.

Food was fantastic. Best burger ever! Seating is tight, but worth the squeeze. The server was very friendly & attentive.

This place is too good to be true, but it is. Fine food with the best service in a clean and nostalgic atmosphere.

Ask the Community - Sunday Diner

Hi! Looking for a place to make reservations for a group of 8 during Thanksgiving week? Will you be open, have indoor seating and take reservations? We will be staying in Waterfall. Thanks!?

Hi! We will be open every day. You did not specify the date or time of your visit so I can't confirm the hours. We do not take reservations as we are a small place but usually don't have long wait times. We currently have indoor and outdoor seating.… Read more

So our latest excursion to Cherokee (mainly to resupply our stock of THC lol), we stayed overnight at the hotel. First of all, the positives! The hotel-casino is quite unique in many ways. It's definitely NOT The Venetian or the Mandalay...with its Vegas-style loft and splendor. It's a MUCH more subdued, modest version of a hotel casino...much smaller. In fact, you can walk from one of the hotel-casino within 15 minutes. Still large...but not Vegas Large. The hotel is also very senior-friendly...with its lush carpeting throughout. Walking on these carpets make you feel as if you're roller skating. Very easy on the joints...so for someone like my husband, with knee issues, and me with my sporadic ankle issues (a long life in heels!), this had to be a lush walk in the park! The hotel also has a rustic style...almost a ranch housing style...complete with a rustic creek right outside. It really matched the Cherokee vibe. Despite the size, the hotel-casino houses plenty of eats and drinks, including a Gordon Ramsey food court...an upscaled food court with chef-inspired street foods. The foods were pretty good (for a food court especially!), but my repeat complaint is that the place is understaffed...and possibly under-managed. Also, the online-screen ordering system is NOT senior-friendly. They also have nicer restaurants on site, like the Guy Fieri's Kitchen + Bar, Ruth Cris, Soco Smokehouse, Amici's, etc.etc. Now the disappointing parts. Again, the entire hotel-casino seems understaffed. Even during busy check-in hours, there were only 2 reps working the hotel reception desks! We stayed in the Mountain Tower, the newer buidling...so newer rooms! As expected, the room was quite nice upon entering. Seemed very new...and clean. However, as you look closer, you'll see and feel all the cracks. The room and bathroom amenities were quite weak (not even water bottles offered in the rooms, for one)...yet you pay nearly 40 bucks a night on resort fees! The bath amenities were also cheap! As new as the room was, the the toilet lever and the tissue holder was already looking like it was cracking. The mattresses on the bed were super soft and super cheap...and ridiculously creaky! Possibly the creakiest mattress I've experienced in decades!!! The A/C was also very weak (felt 72 at 67 degrees)...and you can hear this fairly loud noise (almost like a mini helicopter flying over your bed?) the whole time! You can just tell that the hotel management did a ton of cost cutting within these rooms...even the newer additions! On top of these substandard room amenities, the worst part?!? Their check-in time is 4 pm! I know more and more hotels are going toward later check-in times, but I feel this is a huge scam. Guests are expected to pay more for less hours in a room...one that isn't even being cleaned on a daily basis (but every few days). Not sure how often they cleaned these rooms, however, since we only stayed 1 night. Overall, we still managed to enjoy the stay...walking around the plush carpeted hotel, doing some minor league gambling (slot machines), and eating-drinking in (without having to drive out of the hotel). However, be warned...this is NOT the Vegas quality you might come to expect from hotel-casinos.

Had a great visit to Harrah's Cherokee Casino while staying nearby at Days Inn. The casino is neat,…read morespacious, and well organized, which made it easy to move around and enjoy the experience. The service desk was very helpful, and as a newcomer, I received a $25 table coupon, which was a nice bonus. The food court had several fast food options--quick, convenient, and satisfying between games. Roulette is my go-to, and luckily, I had a good run and even won some money, which definitely made the trip more fun. Overall, it's a solid casino experience with good service and a comfortable atmosphere. It may not have the scale or energy of Las Vegas, but it's still a great spot for a fun getaway.

The buffet is not normally something I'd chose but was where I ended up. I took it as a sign I was meant to be there. They have an entrance and exit door then the host or hostess will seat you. The buffet was $16.95 with drinks and dessert extra. This is a very busy place and they have two tables of 4 next to each other so different groups were seated at each 4 top. The buffet has one section for a salad, lettuce and toppings. Then the next section is hot foods with a variety of vegetables and meats. I remember potatoes, corn, fried chicken and meatloaf and on the end is a carving station for roast beef. But I know there were more options. The salad portion was ok but the potatoes and the corn were great. Then I had roast beef and really enjoyed that. They don't give big portions of it so you need to make a multiple trip. I did have some apples too and liked those. Service was friendly and kept my iced tea filled. I had heard about the pie so decided to get a slice of the peanut butter pie to go. The pie was ok and I wouldn't order that again. I'd return to Granny's Kitchen as the food was very good. I'd prefer ordering from a menu though rather than the buffet. But this is how they have it setup.
