After considering multiple pest control companies, we opted to go with MCS in February 2025. MCS was more expensive than the others we looked at, however a friend had recommended them and we were aware of some local businesses who were also customers. Although we got off to a rocky start after a sales rep under-quoted pricing for our plan, service rep Chase went above and beyond to ensure our install was done properly. Chase has been outstanding in his level of follow up, too. Additionally, Mitch (Installation Manager) helped us navigate and ultimately solve an unanticipated hiccup. Chase and Mitch have delivered the highest level of customer service I've experienced in Austin, and MCS could not ask for better representation of their brand. Even though mosquito season in ATX is yet to get fully underway, I wanted to share that our overall experience with MCS has been positive. Mosquito Control Systems is horrible! We had them install three outdoor heaters and four mister fans in a new patio project. The work went fine and was roughed in in April of 2021 and finally installed in August of 2021. Everything worked great. The misters worked to end the 2021 hot season and the worked beautifully all summer in 2022. The heaters were a different story however. Worked fine all winter but when I went to turn them on in November of 2022, one of them did not come on. So I called MCS to come take a look. No warranty I was told since it had been over a year. Technically I guess they are right but really heater only worked for one winter. No help, no explanation of what was broken, just you need to pay us to replace it. Well, to heck with you, I know it probably an electronic gas valve since I had already done the trouble shooting and knew the electricity and gas were working. So MSC is good on sales and installation but don't depend on them for service. Also, if you want my thoughts on the Bromic Tungsten Smart-Heat Gas 500, I guess I give it a 66.6% approval rating since the remaining two have continued working through the 2022-2023 winter season. We looked at reviews and seemed MSC was the right choice. We have used the service for 2 years now, and have experienced problem after problem: Pros: - The team that visits to service the equipment is extremely friendly/polite/nice. This is what kept us going through all the technical issues, but don't be fooled... - When working (see below) the system did help. It will not eliminate any bugs completely, but it seemed to reduce the number. Cons: - The unit we had stopped working 4 times over 2 years. They would visit and 'reset it', or swap remotes, or upgrade firmware, or other but it was never reliable. - We paid for the unlimited plan so we would not have to think about it, but it was ALWAYS empty on regular daily use. We rarely trigger manually, but the tank would usually be dry before they re-visit to service. - We were told that under the unlimited plan they take care of issues as a service and kept running/repaired/up-to-date. After signing we could not get a replacement controller (despite all the issues) or any other consideration for all our issues. The final straw was this spring (2021) we received an invoice for DOUBLE the last year's monthly amount with no explanation other than sighting their increased costs. This invoice arrived before they even came out in 2021 to service/start the unit. When questioned they started negotiating the price on the spot, asking if we would renew if the price increase was capped 1.5x last year's fee. This is a shady/failing business with a friendly facade. Don't be fooled like we were and seek out another option where customer service is more than just a meaningless tag-line on a flyer. read more

Somewhat disappointed with these guys. From an install perspective they did nice clean work. The issue with the misting system is that is that it is worse than owing a boat. It constantly breaks! The breaks are usually just a clogged misting head that can easily be remedied by soaking them in kerosene to dilute the build up. However these clowns charge 10.00 per head to replace and do not leave the "so called" broken ones. It's a total sham. And let's be honest, does the misting service provide a night and day difference? Absolutely not! Simply for the fast that the people around you don't have a system as well. read more

Cortlin never returns your calls & the system was down more often than not. It worked long enough to kill our garden which I specifically asked Cortlin about and sprayers were installed aiming right at our garden. They will come and top your barrel off and charge for a full fill. We had them come out to repeatedly unplug the sprayers that would only drip not spray. We cancelled our service. Not worth the hassle. Save your money and burn piñon wood. read more

We had our system installed today and we already love it! The team was super easy to deal with. Thomas was very professional and easy to deal with on the sales side. Chase installed the system and was very kind. We didn't even need to be at home. He did a deep spray around the yard on top of installing the system and walked my boyfriend through how it works and where the nozzles are located. We've had our system since March and have definitely seen a difference with our mosquito problem in our backyard. Even with the recent rains, all it took was a couple of extra sprays around dusk to get things back under control. We had our system installed yesterday (a week early!) Enrique and crew did an excellent job of installation and explaining to me about using the system. We gave it a couple of extra squirts last night (per Enrique's instruction). Last night, my husband and I sat on our patio and I only saw and killed one mosquito. Previously, we were both being eaten alive. This is a wonderful system. Installed, it was $100.00 less than the quote. Echoing previous reviews, customer service is horrible. Although the website and sales reps say that "All you pay for is the amount of fluid needed to fill the tank. No monthly fees, no contracts.", there is in fact a "service fee" applied to every trip. On top of that, the inspections regularly miss broken/clogged nozzles, and then charge for a full tank refill no matter what is actually left in the tank. Disappointing to say the least. read more

I was very skeptical as to whether there was anything available that could truly make summer evenings outside bearable - we had so many mosquitos! We had the system installed a couple of weeks ago, and we recently had a large BBQ from 5 to 10pm, where everyone was outside and commenting how they didn't see a single mosquito. We've been spending more time outside now than before, since we don't have to worry about being bit all the time. My daughter is highly allergic to mosquitos, so much so that we had three separate doctors appointments over infected bites last year, and one already this year. Now she can play outside mosquito free. On the occasion that I have seen a mosquito, I will usually run the system an extra time during the day, and it goes back to being mosquito free. The cost is a lot up front, but if you do have a mosquito problem and enjoy being outside, the results will make it well worth the money.
