This is your shop, these are your people!! All I can say about my experience is WOW! I am very cynical when it comes to taking my vehicle to a shop due to past experiences with shady mechanics and them recommending repairs that don't need to be done. Let's face it, we all have trust issues when it comes to vehicle repairs. These guys have earned my trust and faith...at least in them. My story: I brought my family to Salt Lake for Memorial Day weekend from Wyoming when disaster struck my vehicle. My left lower ball joint failed just upon my arrival resulting in my wheel falling off. Thank the Lord it didn't happen on the freeway!! It was the Saturday of Memorial weekend. I HAD to use a mechanic for this one. I was referred to McNeil's by a friend and I have to say I was impressed from the first call to them. They had a towing service that did not cost an arm or a leg ($40) and got my vehicle into the shop that day. They started working on my front end on Tuesday, as they were closed Sun and Mon. Manny said it would probably take until at least Wednesday to get all the needed repairs done, which were many. I told him my plight and that I was from out of town with my family and both my wife and I had work obligations and had to already take work off we didn't expect. He found mercy on us and got his Tech right on it. It was a 6 hour job and they completed it 10 minutes before closing time on Tuesday (a day early) and stayed a little late for me to get things all wrapped up. I did not have to take ANOTHER day off of work and we were back on the road that evening. This was a MAJOR repair and these guys came through shining. Not just in their awesome customer service, but in the quality of work and fair price. I have been jaded by shops in the past, but these guys shine! From an upfront diagnostic review and summary complete with pictures that they electronically send to you, to their policy not to do ANY work until you agree with it, these guys (and gals) far exceeded my expectations! They restored my faith in good honest shops doing honest and quality work for the little guy. I cannot thank Manny and his crew enough for thier hard work and professionalism!!! My family and I broke down on the freeway. We called AAA and someone from McNeil's came and towed us. There was not much room on the shoulder of the freeway and it was very dangerous. The driver was very thoughtful and escorted us safely into his tow truck so we were in a safer spot while he loaded the car. Cars were flying past as he was loading the car. I cant believe how dangerous it is being broken down on the freeway! No one slows down or moves over even when they see emergency lights. The driver really risked his life to help us! We didnt know where to have the car fixed and asked the driver if he knew of a good place. He mentioned McNeil's Auto Care and also said we would get a discount since its a AAA approved shop. We had him take us there and wow its a nice shop! The facility was very clean and inviting which you never see at automotive shops! They even had a little room with toys for my kids to play in! Made it possible for us to relax instead of worrying about the car and the kids. The tow truck driver updated the service writers about what the situation was and the writers sent the information right back to the mechanic and he got started on it right away! They offered us a ride or a loaner car which was super nice! Luckily we had family close so we just hopped in with them. Within an hour or so they called me and let me know what was wrong with the car. They had it fixed the next day! They were super fast and super helpful! Their customer service is fantastic! They really treated me like a friend instead of a customer. Obviously I hope I never have car problems again, but thank goodness I know who to call if I need help. I want to thank McNeil's for turning a really bad situation into a good one. I called AAA because my car wouldn't start in the Costco parking lot. The person I talked to at AAA said they would send someone out to check my battery. I explained that the battery was 8 years old and was definitely in need of replacing. I asked if that would be covered by AAA and was told the service was covered but I would need to purchase the battery. I explained that I was at Costco and asked if I could buy one from Costco and have it installed. I was told that I could! I purchased a Costco Battery. After a few minutes I got a call for Chris, with McNeil's, saying he was on his way to help me. I waited about 20 minutes and was then notified on the AAA app that Chris had been reassigned to an "emergency". I then got a very rude call from a female that said that she worked for AAA and that since I had purchased a battery from Costco that AAA would not be able to assist. I explained that I purchased it after getting the OK from the initial representative. She said she did not care what I had been told, I would not be receiving any help from AAA. I then called the number back that Chris called me from and he said he had been reassigned to a "Lockout" but it was also in the Costco parking lot. He said as soon as he was finished with that he would assist me. A few minutes latter he arrived and installed my Costco Battery. As a result I will be having all my cars serviced at McNeil's. read more

I have been using McNeils's for many years. I have come to think of Troy as my personal auto consultant. I started taking the excellent service for granted. I expect great service and they always deliver. We were going on a driving vacation taking my wife's car. The day before were to leave she noticed an unusual noise. The morning we were supposed to leave I took her car for a test drive. I didn't think we could take the car untill we got the problem resolved. I called Manny and explained the situation. He took a look at the car and concurred that we cant drive the car untill the problem is resolved. He went out of his way to get us in and get the car repaired. He got us on our way the same day. These guys are awesome. They are not only kind but trust worthy. I originally went to Steve's Automotive at 9245 S 700 E for an oil change. They claimed that I needed a variety of extensive work done in addition to the oil change, including new brakes. I experienced very poor customer service at Steve's and chose to go elsewhere for new brakes. Mcneil's found that I did not need new breaks for at least another year!!! I am currently a full time student, and I appreciate their honesty. I had a few other things completed (new battery, etc.) that I know did need to be done and am happy with the work. The staff was thoughtful, efficient and kind. The environment was welcoming and clean. They took the time to communicate with me and ensure my understanding. Thankyou! read more

Imagine being stuck on the side of the road 750 miles from home in a 20 year old vehicle with a 110b dog. Dean from McNeils Towing was my first impression of this shop and it keeps getting better. With every opportunity to take advantage of me, instead Troy put my mind at ease and immediately recognized that I was traveling and needed to be back on the road ASAP. I fully expected to be stuck in Sandy for at least 4 days with a bill close to the value of my old truck. Not the case, rocket fast turn around time at a remarkably affordable cost without a big long list of up sales. They even had treats for my dog! I won't recommend breaking down on the side of the road but I do highly recommend McNeils! read more

This was our best experience ever at a repair shop. We had been out of the country for two months and when we arrived back at the motel my truck wouldn't start. I called AAA and they dispatched Eric - a McNeill Towing employee - Eric - got us hooked up with McNeil's Repair Service and they took my truck right away. When they realized that I needed a new alternator in addition to new batteries (diesel) they gave us a loaner car to use in order to get to a motel and restaurant. We were at their facility for several hours and were able to observe how well hey treat all their customers. It was a pleasure doing business with them and I wish them all the best! read more

We have AAA and when we need a service call at home they usually send McNeil's and we're always glad! They are terrific and today was no exception. As Rhodes was driving down the street I was trying to open the hood to give him access for the jump. In trying to maneuver past some stacks of junk (yes, it's time to do another major clean up!) I knocked something and found myself trapped between my car and some cartons of books. Rhodes came to my rescue! He even managed to do it without making me feel like an idiot, which I clearly am. This morning I came out of my kids' school to find a flat tire. I was so frustrated because like every busy mom, I had a mile long to-do list to get ready for Halloween. Not to mention my ornery three-year-old in the back of the van. I called AAA and then Kevin from McNeil's called immediately after and said he could be there in 20 minutes or less. He came in 15 minutes and was so friendly and helpful. Getting the tire out of my van is a HUGE pain, and he did it and was not put out at all. He was so, so helpful and nice about it all. My car that my daughter drives had a blowout of the Left front tire while on the freeway. I drove to her rescue, exhanging cars allowing her to go onto her internship in Lehi while I stayed with the disabled car. I called AAA and they made contact with TJ of McNeils Auto Care. TJ came and did a great job in putting on the spare tire allowing me to drive the car to a tire store and get a new tire for the tire. Great and quick service! I went in for a quick emissions test so I could register my car. It took them 15 minutes, they finished the test going above and beyond. They quickly registered my car for me, which I didn't know you could do. Saving me a trip to the DMV. Within 20 minutes they had handed me over my registration form along with my new stickers. Mcneils Towing was awesome. They came quickly when my front tire bent sideways and I slid off the road. Jake the tow truck driver could not have been more kind and helpful. He was very gentle with my car and patient with me. He offered me ice water and didn't complain when I changed the place he was towing my car to. Holy cow!!!! Such a great service. They sent out (Germain) and he has got to be the most patient man I've ever met. My car had a flat and Germain was patient as we desperately struggled to get it of for 10 minutes and then we decided to just tow it and turns my battery had died from the Hazards being on for 3 hours go figure hahaha!!!!! Woke up one morning with a car that wouldn't start and had it towed to McNeil's. I received txt updates of what was going on with my car along the way. Troy (manager) called and we went over my options. A year later, my car has only needed the oil changes and tire rotations (all of which have been done at McNeil's).
