BUYERS BEWARE!! I am thankful that we discovered how they operate before we actually bought a vehicle. I would give negative stars if I could. We came in and test drove a vehicle, but were pressed for time, so we set an appointment with the salesman for the next morning. When we arrived at the dealership the next day, the vehicle was parked up front and we test drove it again so I could drive it as well. Afterward, we sat down a bit, and after our salesman finished our application, a manager walked up and said that they had just sold the vehicle. They sold it right out from under us. I felt bad for the salesman we were working with because he was new. By that time, they had already ran a hard inquiry on our credit. Unbelievable. That left a real bad taste in my mouth. You know you will get screwed if the salespeople can't even be honest with each other. I was at a loss. We also let them value our trade-in and they attempted to lowball us by 9 or 10 grand. Their offer was laughable. I knew the value of our trade-in before we even walked into the dealership. To top everything off, the vehicle we were going to buy was marked up over $7k above the average dealer retail price, because I looked it up on Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and NADA. We didn't make it that far, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have come down even close to an honest price. I would strongly advise against McLeod Auto Sales, because they are straight-up crooks and will just make you angry. I have never seen anything like it. If I were a customer I'd read every letter of every document before signing no matter how long it takes. It sounds counterintuitive but subprime lenders and dealers make more money off your low credit rating than someone with a higher credit rating. Also, predatory dealers and lenders count on most of you to default on your loan. You make some payments until you can't anymore or until the vehicle breaks down and you can't afford to fix it so you stop making payments. Your car is repo'd and resold to someone else who will also most likely default. Rinse, repeat. And those who can make their payments typically dump mad amounts of money into repairs until the vehicle just won't run anymore. Anyone who try's to sell you on "transparency" typically has the most to hide. You might say "well, McLeods been around forever." I say you can wrap a turd in gold foil but it's still a turd. I came here wanting to buy a nissan titan they had. But I left there not having a good experience at all. I felt per pressured and bullied once they asked for 15,000 down and I said that was to much of a down payment. They began trying to get me to look at other vehicles even though I kept stating I wasn't interested. My sales rep had his manager come over and tell me that sometimes what we want we can't have. Then proceeded to tell me I couldn't afford the truck even though he had my pay stubs and new very well I could. I came here first, but wanted to look around at other places cause I was afraid my credit wasn't good enough. Jaden was very nice and professional from the very beginning. So I went off and wrote a review way before I had made and had this one up, so I decided to take the old one down an update it prior! When I first purchased my 2018 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L Not only was extremely upset for a $10,000 - 12k up charge above MSRP for an base model that had nothing special to it. Single key fob, no remote start, no crazy heated seats, no sunroof lol and basic cloth seats. So regardless of the fact that they Up charged me like I was buying an All Wheel Drive V6 Ford Fusion... I have probably the most basic ford fusion available and they charged me like it's a special case... ALSO all the filters when I bought the car were BAD, and the body lining on the car was BAD, I was starting to tell this car had been through something but I negotiated verbally about issues I saw and when they brought out a different contract from what we agreed on with the damages I assessed about the bumper cracking and body lines they said they'd bring down the price, they never did. And it wasn't until I worked on my car as of recent removing the plastic cover around the right wheel well and removing a tire while changing the belts and water pump that I noticed a HUGE seem cutting into the frame... and In my head I said THATS THE SHAKING FROM THE DASH I KEPT TELLING THE DEALER!, shortly I asked my buddy to come over and help me out... before he walked up to the side with the tire off, he as a car tech at caliber collision notices issues all over... and when he makes it over and see my wheel well, all he can say is this should actually be illegal to sell something this messed up becuase your passengers could be more at risk to death thanks to your structural damage. I'm not really sure what the deal with this place is. They had a truck listed on their website but had no pics posted. I called about it and and was told that someone would call me back. They did but said someone else would take pics of it and text them to me. I was told this no less than 4 times over the course of 2 weeks. I never did get the pics or a call from an actual salesman who actually wanted to sell me the truck, which was one of the priciest on their lot. I'm inclined to think they never had the truck to begin with and it was some sort of click bait to get you to call them. Why else would a dealership not be interested at all in selling one of their priciest vehicles to an interested buyer. Another off thing about them is that every time you call the first thing out of their mouth is asking if you're interested in financing something. Reeling you into their financing program is clearly their bottom line. "How can I help you?" Seems more appropriate might be a better greeting if you're reading this McLeod. This place seems shady and I'd recommend to stear clear and look elsewhere for a place more willing to please their customers. read more

I went there to look at one truck, they were asking way above the market value and wouldn't budge at all on the price. So I told the guy thanks for his time I'll go somewhere else. He gilt tripped me into test driving a truck I wasn't looking at with over 120,000 miles with several scratches and ding inside/outside the truck. Well, while test driving it. The salesman falls asleep so obviously I didn't get a vehicle there and went somewhere else. This is my story from 2 years ago lol. The salesman was an overweight African American male. I was told over the phone that they don't go by credit and that they go by income which I make well over the amount of their requirements..they go exactly by credit and you will definitely not get approved for dime down if you don't meet their good credit requirements, they were asking $7500 on a 2019 Dodge Journey that's $17000?? Scam scam scam. They were still trying to sell that to me after I told them I couldn't put down 30% and told them I don't have the best credit, they're no help and then I was told it was only the first round of approvals? There's multiple!? Never heard of that. On top of that you don't even get to choose what car you want , the lenders choose for you based on what they feel like they'll trust you with. Went to another dealership around the same area and they worked with me and my credit and got me in a 2020 for only $600 down and $550 a month car payment. That car in 2019 brand new is MSRP at the 20k mark...we paid 19.5 and had no idea until too late. The average fair asking price rifgt now for one of that status is 13-14k. Went in on a Saturday. Spent some time with one of the sales people. She told us that our down payment with the credit amnesty program would around 6 grand. Ok, we can't do that, so she went over other options. She said there were other lenders that would (or should) be willing to finance us with a smaller down payment than what they wanted, but bigger than what we had at the moment. Admittedly, our down payment we had right then was next to nothing. But we talked about coming back in a week or 2 with a better down payment, and she said that the offers she had given us were good for 30 days. Less than a week later, we went in with $2000 to put down and talk about deferring another thousand in 2 weeks. So, $3000 total. This time we got a guy, and he said that our only option was their credit amnesty program, and we had to have that original 6 grand. We asked him about the other lenders that we had spoken about with the other person, he said he had no idea what we were talking about and it was their credit amnesty or nothing. Now, we are realistic. We know our credit is trash. We knew we weren't going to get a car with a tiny down payment. But to be told that it's $6000 down or nothing at all, that's not helpful at all. They talk about working with you and all of that BS all the time, but when it comes down to it, they give you BS lines about how they can help if you come up with more money, then turn you away when you come up with more money. And it's worth noting that while I have the same last name as the namesake of the company, there is absolutely no relation. We ended up getting a car from another dealership with the amount that we were able to afford, and nobody made us feel like we were too broke to purchase from them. So, to sum up, they don't want to work with you unless you have great credit or a very large down payment. read more

They ignored how much I had to make a down payment and told me I needed $8,000 down for their cheapest vehicle which was a 2015 Nissan juke that was dirty inside and had peeling window tint ... ps I didn't even get to look at the vehicle or any other vehicle they chose this one for me but it was not worth 8,000 down and 20,000 full price guess I'll keep looking for a different place that actually cares for customers and listens to what they tell you before time is wasted. read more

They searched my car (without permission) and said that because of what was in the car they were repo'ing the car - there is a line in the contract you sign that says they can reposes your car at ANY TIME for ANY REASON if they feel the loan is "at risk." I have never missed or been late with a payment. I have never missed my insurance payment. They told me I had 20 days to pay off the car. I bought a 2018 Kia Soul from McLeod's. They charged us over $25,000 for a car with extremely high miles and the book value is actually $14,000. Not to mention we found out later that we ate paying an interest rate of 38.99%! We pay $539.38 a month of which $35 goes towards the car and $504. goes towards interest! The salesmen try to get a sale and they don't give a damn about their customers! Not to mention I couldn't get the vehicle I wanted. I had to settle for a car they chose for me. But yes, I did accept it. I needed a vehicle! However, I should have shopped around! If I had it never would have been McLeod I would have chosen! They presented a car after learning this, which was very nice. 2018, low miles, excellent test drive, etc. No bad smells under the hood. Fluids recently changed. I agreed and we went inside to finalize the paperwork. 20 minutes later he comes back out and says, "Oh, I made a mistake. This isn't the car that works for you." They base their trade in value off pay off amount and wouldn't give me a trade in amount without my payoff... that doesn't matter, nor should it affect the value of my trade... Went to check it out, and it was actually way worse than I expected, and the expectation was pretty low. I inquired about a couple different vehicles, which of course were overpriced- And then I was shown a high mileage 2004 Dodge Neon in mediocre shape at best. They were really pushing me to look at this car which I had only fleeting interest in. This car, which could not be sold for more than 4,000 in immaculate condition with low miles, - was priced at over $10,000. I'm not usually blunt, but I told them " this car is not worth that much, and we both know it." And the guy went into this pitch about how the SRTs were handmade and some bullshit; which they aren't, and there is nothing really special about them, whatsoever. They wanted to run my credit. I said no. I explained that I'm not necessarily interested in anything. In a very shady fashion, they tried to assure me I could have any car on their lot, they would get me approved. And I said no, I really can't afford ANY car on their lot and I'm not so desperate that I would need approval at the cost of 30% interest... Here is the best part of the visit: They tried to tell me that 19% interest isn't bad at all, and even a bit more isn't bad. I don't think a place of business has ever insulted me so badly. I got a used car here in December that was way over priced. The day after I drove it off the lot the clutch went out completely and left me on the side of the road on the freeway. I had to get a tow truck to take it back to McLeod and they were nice enough to fix it. But six months later the clutch goes out and they said it was because it had a tuner. They told me when I first bought the car that it was stock but I came to find out it already had a down pipe and a cool air intake. I had no idea about the tuner. So now they have taken my car apart and tell me it's in no condition to drive. They won't fix the clutch even though they put the wrong kind of clutch in it and I can't pick up my car because it's in pieces. read more
