Super satisfied with the service received @ Chuck's! I had a list of items for Chuck's team to take a look at on my 2004 F-150. The extremely nice lady running the office was 100% honest with me and let me know that they were extremely busy and had vehicles parked out in the street that they still needed to check out and it would be right at 2 weeks before they could check my truck out. She was pretty accurate with that timeline. They checked out my truck and got me a quote (their phones were having issues - so she worked with me via Text (which was awesome as I could handle this all the while continuing my work day!)). She provided me both a quote and ETA of the repair which I promptly agreed to. They had my truck wrapped up & ready for pick up just a few business days later. I picked my truck up and the same nice lady gave me a run down of my repairs and their findings as well as instructions that they put dye in my A/C system so if I had issues just give them a shout. I drove the truck home but still had concerns with the A/C. I texted her and she told me to drop the truck back off. Shortly after our exchange I dropped the truck back off - but had another lengthy discussion about what I was experiencing. Chuck's team took another crack at my problem (Basically the A/C had no freon leaks, and would at times take upwards of 30 mins to cool the truck off. It just didn't cool like it used to.) Within just a few short days - I was given my diagnosis - I wasn't crazy!! I received my quote & ETA of the repair just like last time and Chuck's team delivered once again! I definitely got what I paid for. And like many others - I am a satisfied/happy customer. Definitely my new go-to mechanic! read more

1/5 -- Horrible Customer Service Service Experience I would not recommend Bill's Towing, its manager Joseph, or the driver Cody to anyone. My experience was extremely unprofessional, stressful, and disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived at Chuck's Garage, the manager at the front desk appeared visibly frustrated that I had brought in a towed vehicle and gave the impression that he did not want the business at all. This made the situation uncomfortable from the beginning. After receiving the quote, which I felt was extremely high, he seemed to pressure me into continuing with the service despite my concerns about the cost. When I decided not to move forward, I stepped outside and was on the phone with Bill's Towing. At that point, the manager came out and said he would charge me $75 if I was going to keep my vehicle there, in a passive-aggressive tone, even though I had already made arrangements to tow my vehicle to another mechanic shop. Pricing Issues Additionally, the company they work with, Chuck's Garage, tried to charge me approximately $700 just to inspect my vehicle and diagnose the A/C problem. I had previously been given a much lower estimate over the phone, but once I arrived, the price was significantly increased, which felt misleading given the circumstances. Wait Time I then waited an hour and a half in 102-degree weather for Bill's Towing after being told the wait would be about 30 minutes, which added even more frustration to an already difficult situation. Staff Behavior Cody the wannabe tough guy was very rude and said it was policy that they could not give rides to the next location; however, after a call with the manager, they said it was not a policy at all. He did not provide me with a ride to the next location and left me stranded. Then, only about five minutes after arriving, he threatened to have my vehicle impounded while I was still on the phone actively trying to arrange payment for the towing service. Overall Experience The entire situation felt rushed, disrespectful, and heavily overpriced. Based on my experience, I would 100% not recommend this business and strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! My son who is in the army called them with car trouble. He was told they could check the car out for free. My son had a hunch it was the ac compressor. He pays to tow his vehicle there and upon arrival is told it's over $200 for AC diagnostic and $600 for a full diagnostic. They told him the AC compressor part is going to be over $2k, IF, that's what it ends up being. To add insult to injury if he doesn't end up getting the work done there they want $75 if he leaves his car there. These ppl are a joke. He has no other vehicle, he's an hour and a half away from family!! No compassion. Rip off central, stay away. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would because 1 star is even a high review in my opinion for this horrible place. I would not recommend this place to anybody or ever look their way. I called ahead of time to get a quote on how much it would be to run a full diagnostic which I got quoted around 200 which was still pretty high but I didn't mind keep in mind my car was not starting so I had to get a tow which cost 100 to the place, as soon as my husband arrived he goes to the front to tell them the vehicle is here and he changes the price to 600!! That is absolutely insane for a diagnostic only not including parts and repair cost. If your thinking of going here think twice, three times even four before settling on this joke "mechanic" shop and make sure you bring three times the amount of money they quoted you on because prepare to be scammed. On top of that a couple hours pass after paying AGAIN to get the car towed to another shop because these people suck and are not reliable my husband finally gets home after having to deal with these rude employees including the manager and the manager calls him because of a review he left which is crazy it is 7:30pm currently and all we want to do is relax after this stressful day and the manager is on the phone with him for 30 minutes just ranting about the review. Not to give a refund for the horrible towing job they did not to apologize to rant about how my husband left a negative review. 85$ for a towing which they refused to give him a ride to the next location which I have never heard of someone leaving the customer while they tow the car and then threatening to impound the car because payment was not received which it could have been a simple transaction except they didn't give him a ride so he had no service to pay and then when they dropped off the vehicle they straight just dropped the car on the ground which can further damage the car's suspension and we didn't get no refund for the towing service. read more

my vehicle has been there multiple times in the past month or so. Each time, the problem is claimed to have been fixed but within 2 days it becomes an issue with a brand new issue on top of it. my vehicle was nowhere near this messed up until now. my wife and I both work and require our vehicles. WHAT A RIP OFF! To make this long story as short as possible, I called Chuck's Garage and told them I needed to have AAA tow my truck there to see what the problem was. I told them that the engine starts, but was riding rough and acting as if it was going to cut off. I thought maybe I put some bad gas in it. My second thought was, maybe I needed a major tune up (since it's been a while). I agreed to pay them $102 to find out what the problem was. So, after they start looking at the truck, Andrew calls me back and says the mechanic has an "idea" of what was wrong with it; but needed to do a different diagnosis for an additional fee. They should've said this was a possibility from the beginning. He then told me that he "believed" it was a bad timing change/belt (or whatever you call it). He said the fee to do the second diagnostic was $600 (which was 6 hours labor). This second diagnostic was to check and see, but it wasn't guaranteed that this was actually the problem. When he gave me the cost of second fee, I immediately refused to pay it. Who has $600 to spend on a MAYBE diagnosis? If I agreed to do the diagnostic and that's not what the problem was, I would still owe $102 (for the first diagnostic to NOT tell me what the problem was)... WHAT?? I would also owe $600 (for the second diagnostic). If I then agreed to do the second diagnostic, it would be $700 plus $2300 to fix the timing change/belt. Well, I'm not rich! So I can't afford $700 on a hunch that may not even be the problem. When I told them what my truck was doing and why I needed to have it checked out, that should've given them a general idea of the few things that could be wrong with it. If the guy had told me from the very beginning that if would possibly need a second diagnostic, I would've refused the first diagnostic. I'm not a mechanic, nor do I know anything at all about cars. So, how was I supposed to know they wouldn't find the problem (which is why I agreed to the diagnostic test in the first place)? I just wasted money and one of my AAA tows for absolutely NOTHING. I guess they have to keep the money coming in some kind of way. Yeah, it's $102, but that's money that could've been used elsewhere. The truck is still not in running condition. So, I'm back to square one. Thanks a lot! IN RESPONSE TO CHUCK'S MESSAGE.. In the third paragraph, you say that I approved the diagnostic with my signature. Yes... I approved the FIRST diagnostic ONLY. I paid for a service I DIDN'T GET. It's not rocket science! Maybe you guys should be honest and let people know upfront that there's a POSSIBILITY you'll need to do additional/more expensive test. If you had told me this, I would've had you guys do the first test. Then, you wouldn't have my signature at all. Had my trailblazer worked on a few months back. It was having some issues with a loud banging when I drove on the highway. They didn't fix the problem after having the truck for a week. Brought the truck back, I didn't get the truck back for another two weeks. When I got my vehicle back the steering wheel would switch on its own. I would be driving and it would just switch to one side then switch back regularly. My friend recommended this place to me but I recommend ppl find somewhere else to go to. read more

Chuck is amazing! I took my car in after making an appointment. I had to wait at the shop because I didn't have a ride home or a way to go back and get it. As soon as I walked in, Chuck was there. We went over what was going on with the car. Since he knew I was waiting, he offered the tv and told me there were a lot of channels and to make use to the kureig. I had a ton of homework to get caught up on so I did that while I waited. The waiting room is so clean, it's comfortable and inviting. Once he took a look at the car and fixed it, he went over everything with me, broke down the reasoning for the charges, and gave me an estimate for brake work that I need to have done. The best auto shop in Killeen. Ive been tired of/disappointed at franchisee auto stores in Killeen. They always quote/suggest u unreasonable price for unnecessary services. Overall excellent experience. My truck broken down on the interstate while on my way to Killeen. Initially I had called my insurance company's roadside assistance who now don't even have a call center and make you fill out a form online to get service. I got so frustrated that I started looking on Yelp for local mechanics. Luckily I found Chuck's Garage!!! They were so kind as to dispatch a tow (Review on Bill's Towing in a separate review). Once we got my truck to the shop, they diagnosed it on the spot and already knew what the issue was. Everyone I met at the shop was very professional but also friendly, caring, and laid back. They gave me a very fair estimate of cost to repair. They had to keep my truck for a few days but it was reasonable because of the extent of the repairs. I have to say that I have found an honest and family oriented shop who goes out its way to make you feel at home when you walk in! Mike who's the young man answering the phones and doing all the ordering from different auto shops is very friendly and also very knowledgeable on what's going on. Greg is the mechanic who worked on my JeepSrt8, he was installing new rotors and pads all around. He did an outstanding job on my high performance brake job! I brought my own parts which is a BIG PLUS! They are very affordable compare to the Dealership which you pay an arm and a leg and your first child! Greg was very helpful, he showed me my rotors (old ones and said they were still really good and asked me if I wanted to keep them on and just put pads. I told him no worries because I had all new sets for all tires. The dealership said I needed rotors. Once again the Jeep dealer was about ripping people/soldiers off. *** IF YOU ARE NEW TO KILLEEN or NEWLY IN NEED OF AUTO REPAIR COME TO CHUCK'S MOBILE MECHANICS & GARAGE *** This review is about 3 months overdue (total oversight on my part, sorry Chuck & Dana) but still holds relevance. My 2005 SUV started a slight hemorrhage of pinkish fluid on a Thursday evening. I had just moved to Killeen and had no clue of who to trust for auto repairs. After searching Yelp for most of the day, and finding good reviews on several mechanics, I finally went with the one closest to my house and called Chuck's at 4:30pm. I spoke with Ms. Dana, who without even a hiccup, made me feel like bringing my car in at 5:15pm on a Friday evening (when they close at 6:00) was a totally acceptable and natural occurrence. They patched the leakage and replenished the fluids enough for me to drive around safely and return the following week to do the actual repair. I also had Chuck perform a Complete Inspection Service which yielded a small to-do list which he broke down by priority. Chuck thoroughly explained everything that WAS done and that NEEDED to be done and answered all my questions; and Ms. Dana checked for parts availability, gave alternative recommendations, and filled me in on great restaurants and salons around/near town. This shop is the best price you'll get in Killeen. I had a timing belt and tensioner that were going and needed to be replaced ASAP. The Honda dealership gave me a quote of $1,300. I was shocked, but the front lady at Chuck's garage gave me a quote for $423. Awesome, I dropped it off immediately. I got calls throughout the weekend with updates and things like that, Chuck told me they were going to replace to water pump as well, which was great. When I went to pick it up, the total price came to $591, which was quite significantly more than I expected. But they did put gas in the vehicle, and they did the water pump, probably taking more labor time than expected, so I didn't put up a fight or dock a star since he basically told me they were going to do a bit more work before they started. My only problem, is that I noticed something was hanging down in the front right of my car, and rubbing on the front tire. Unfortunately, I picked up the car on my way to Temple and went to the VA immediately after leaving the garage, so I didn't have time to pull over and see what was going on until I got to my appointment. Now, it looks like whatever was hanging was worn off by the tires from me driving on the highway. Doesn't seem to be a major issue anymore, but hopefully the crew can be more cognizant of screwing things back to where they go. That's what it seemed to be, just a panel or something that didn't get screwed back on so it was dragging along the tire. Sucks, but at least I saved $800. EDIT: Chuck got in touch with me and they fixed the panel for free. Him and Dana were so friendly the entire time, and they really hels up their five star reputation. They did nearly $300 of work, and I'm so glad that he reached out to me because eventually I would've needed to fix it. This shop just won a long-term customer for as long as I'm in Killeen. I dropped my truck off, to have one worn part replaced, after getting an estimate from this shop. They called later and told me the truck needed $3000 in repairs. Some of the parts they wanted to replace were nearly new and functioned perfectly. Watch out for shops like this, that try to scam you and perform repairs that are not needed. Also, this shop's claim that they charge 50% of the hourly labor rate of other shops is BS, unless the other shops are charging around $200 per hour. Beware! read more

I guess am not the only one that fell for this scam of a business He had my truck for 3 months from December 28 2016 to March 28 2017 for an engine overhaul and over $4k charged When i finally got my truck back,he had replaced my new battery and replaced with a junkyard one,charged for a new computer that looks old and from the junkyard,My truck had check engine light,engine lifters and bearing sounded loud and then the engine completely died 90 days later and he claims no responsibility that he dint work on that part of the engine yet charged me over $4k to overhaul the engine.The truck also had numerous missing bolts and nuts,the fan had a missing bolt and the battery and computer were dangling around and not tied down Interesting enough,refused to answer my calls for 3 months finally when the truck died June 28 2017 ,I called and Dana ,the wife i believe answered the phone and sounded like she really cared and asks to have my truck towed back so they can evaluate.at the end of the day,Chuck called me and denied it all saying he dint work on the lower part of the engine .What the hell is an overhaul. He then told me that he would fix the problem and get me a used engine if i paid him $3500 and he would cover labor.All he cares is make a killing at everyone expense.I would caution all before considering taking your vehicle to this shop. Listen. There are only a few things that we can be absolutely certain of these days -- and one is that your vehicle will, sooner or later, require maintenance, service or repair. Another thing -- Chuck's Garage and Mobile Mechanics is, by far, the best place to go to when the time comes. I have been a customer of Chuck's for quite a while, so this is not a "spur of the moment" review. Those guys have taken care of my old truck for quite a while, and the best word I can find to describe my experience is --- their integrity! Plain and simple. This place had some great reviews and some that weren't great, but not horrible so I was feeling confident when I took my truck here. Unfortunately, I am now regretting it altogether. It wasn't a simple fix so I wasn't surprised it couldn't be done in one day and was happy when they said I could pick it up the next day. Took the day off and had a ride ready to take me, but I called first, glad I did because it wasn't ready. I live an hour and a half away from this shop, broke down on the highway, so if I hadn't of called I would have had one heck of a wasted trip. They tell me tomorrow, I take another day off and find another ride, called and it's not ready. At this point I'm upset not only because I've missed two days of work for nothing but why can't they call me to tell me it won't be ready?! I explain that I'm not close to their shop and wished they'd keep in better contact and they said they've been calling my boyfriend with updates, no you didn't. Until I complained a little more at length yesterday, six days later, NEITHER of us had received any communication from your shop that wasn't initiated by us. We weren't informed that it was taking longer than expected, or that you're computer couldn't program my truck and you don't know why, that you had to call for a locksmith to help and if that was going to cost us extra. The only call I got from your shop was yesterday, after Amanda assures me that it would be ready before you closed so we should come get it before you closed, did I get a call after an hour of driving saying that after a week and all the rest of this crap is my truck won't ready. She said you didn't even know what was wrong, that she didn't know if you guys messed up or even fixed the right thing and to turn around and come back home. It's an awful feeling to have someone who has already tinkered around and told you your bill is over five hundred dollars to say "we don't know". Finally picked up my truck and they didn't even snap the front panel on correctly. So much for attention to detail. This is my favorite auto repair facility in Killeen. Chuck took time and care repairing the brakes on my Toyota RAV4. Turns out the standard pads did not fit. Dana kept calling parts stores until they found a brand that would fit. I really appreciated them taking the time to get the right pads and get me back on the road. I took my car in for rear brakes & drums. Got it back & when I would press on the brakes the car shook. Took it back 3 times & it still not correct. I am done going back to them as the owner was not very nice & the problem still exists. Was also suppose to get a military discount & that did not happen.
