In showing me the truck I was interested in and in discussing the proposed deal, he was very patient and thorough. Upon delivery, he had filled the tank with gas and then demonstrated all the features of the truck that were new to me. Further, he transferred my personal key ring and key-fob protective skin from my old truck key to my new one. Plus, he moved my Texas license plates and rear plate frame to my new truck. Do not buy a used vehicle that's a different make from this dealer and here's why: a few months back I needed to upgrade to a full size pickup and had found one reasonably priced that fit my needs went through the process with of purchasing with the salesman in which was satisfactory with how all business was handled with Craig he exceeded all expectations and treated me great and took good care of me! I left happy with my purchase and all that entailed. Fast forward a few months I have a few issues with the truck a couple major issues and a few that just comes with buying used, upon discovering theses issue I reach out to contact Johnson brothers Ford because I felt they had treaded my well in the past few vehicles i purchased non of which were ford products. I call service to schedule an appointment to have these issues diagnosed to see what I'm up against and was told per service that we do not work on Chevrolet, what? They then tell me to take it to a Chevrolet dealership in which I do to have a bill come out to 2200$ little over half of which is covered by extended service contract. The other are idems that we're not caught in their (50 point inspection) Including low and dirty transmission fluid that was 30,000 miles past service interval and brakes and rotors that were pencil whipped on the inspection. Now I'm stuck with paying this bill. I have talked to Mike and grant over at Johnson brothers in which couldn't help so I reached out to Eddy over sales to mitigate and resolve this issue... Eddy was great in trying to nicely defuse this frustration and wash his hands of it or in other words I'm not going to do anything. So do your due diligence of having any used vehicle checked out by a reputable shop that you trust or you will be stuck with a fat bill on your vehicle you recently purchased. read more

Johnson Brothers Ford of Temple, Texas took advantage of my 21 year old charging a 20% restocking fee which equated to $681 of parts that were ordered that were not necessary. Was told the repair was going to cost $4700. I pleaded with the Service manager to drop some of the cost. But the money hungry greed of dealership shisters once again prevailed knowing they could hold his car hostage until the ransom was paid. It's dealerships like this that give good dealerships a bad name. I got the exact OEM replacement parts from O'Reillys for $450 cheaper in Oklahoma so I drove six hours to temple to fix the car myself for a total cost of $1,200 in parts. Beware..... read more

I would like to give a "shout out" to Ken and Olin in sales department!I would like for these guys to get a compliment passed to them through management. I bought a 2016 Ford Focus, used from salesman Ken a few years ago. Ken was great to work with; however, I would never buy there again due to the Service Department. I called this morning to try to set an appointment to have the car diagnosed, the engine light is on and there is a "upon need" recall for the Canister Purge Valve. My car has the symptoms described in the notice from Ford. When I tried to make the appointment for my day off, over a week away, I was told the only appointment I could make was a "drop off" appointment which would take from 1-3 days to get to it. Since when can't you make an appointment for the simple task of connecting it to a diagnosis tool? Hell, I can go to any auto parts store and have it done while you wait, which I did and it shows an emissions fault. I guess I would rather pay a local shop to do the work than depend on Johnson Brothers Ford. They just lost not only a repair, but the business of selling my next car(s). read more

We purchased a 2020 Ford Explorer from another dealership and then moved to Central Texas, and our nearest Ford dealership is Johnson Brothers Ford. During a standard oil change, the technician mentioned that our battery was low and soon after we started getting some odd warning lights on the car. So we decided to take our car in to Johnson Brothers to get it checked out. I mentioned to the service advisor that we knew the battery was low and I would like them to check the battery first and then diagnose the problem. The next day, I received an invoice and a call telling me that I needed a repair done that totaled roughly $3,400. I am not a mechanic, so I trusted the dealership to make the repairs. Once the service advisor let me know that the car was ready, I double-checked that the battery had been checked. She told me that it has not been checked, but they would do that immediately. I felt uneasy about the repair that I had paid for but I again, am not a mechanic, so I trusted them. The Quick Lane advisor reached out and let me know that the battery was fine and good to go, so we picked up the car and assumed it was repaired. The very next day, while out grocery shopping, we tried to start the car and got nothing, but we noticed a strong electrical burning smell and some smoke coming from the engine compartment. We contacted Johnson Brothers and let them know we needed help, to which they responded "you can have it towed here and we can reimburse you later". I didn't think this was an appropriate response for a shop that had the car the day before, so we requested they had someone come look at the car and have it towed themselves. The Quick Lane manager came to meet us, looked at the car, and agreed that there was a strong electrical burning smell and that he did not feel safe putting a jump on the car to get it back to the shop. The car was taken back to the shop and upon inspection, they let me know that the battery actually was bad and "the testing device at our Quick Lane must be faulty". After a couple days of looking over the car, they were unable to duplicate the smell and felt that it had just been the battery. So we go and pick up the car for a second time. We had the vehicle parked in the garage for 2 days and took it out to go to dinner on Saturday night. We pulled up to a stop light and the car again dies, and is unable to start. We had the car towed to our residence and waited for Monday morning to contact the Johnson Brothers service department. After letting them know of the continued issues, they picked the car up and towed it to their shop. After another few days, they let us know that the starter was now out. At this point, I had lost confidence in the workmanship of what the mechanics had done but was assured that the mechanic that was working on the car was a 35-year experienced mechanic and he knew what he was doing. After roughly 6 weeks from start to finish we did receive our car and the repairs were supposedly completed. While the car was in Johnson Brothers possession, there was a dent put into the back lift gate of our car, which we noticed and had to request repair of and the plastic surround piece of the drivers seat was damaged and we also had to request repair of that as well. I do have to give them kudos for being willing to cover the cost of the battery and starter, but I do not have confidence that the repair that cost $3400 was necessary or warranted. We will not be taking any other vehicles to their service department in the future. I hope nobody else has experiences like this, but I thought it was worth sharing our experience. We do have an active formal complaint with the Ford Motor Company for how this repair was performed. read more

Michael "Smitty" Smith is the best salesman in town! We really loved our experience here, it was smooth and quick. We even had our toddler during the buying process since we drove in from Austin. All of the staff was very nice and accommodating with her running around while we finalized the deal and the financing. We called about a car that we had seen on their website and agreed on the pricing and everything the day before. When we arrived the car was perfectly detailed and ready to go under the covered parking. We got there right at opening Smitty was there waiting for us with the keys. The car was as promised, we had asked them to charge the car so that we could take our daughter to the the Waco zoo. As promised the car was fully charged and ready to go. It was great working with Smitty and Jerry as they are both men of their word and everything was as we agreed upon. We didn't have any surprises and were able to get a great value for our trade in as well. I'd definitely come back to Smitty to buy my next Ford. I came in for an MPI (multi point inspection and was told it would cost $75.00 which is ridiculous and predatory. It is a visual inspection! Leif Johnson doesn't charge for MPIs and was shocked when they learned this dealership charges for it as no reputable dealership should. Flat tire on I-35 in Belton on a Saturday afternoon. Relatively new (2020) Ford with an extended tire warranty in force. Before I called Ford Roadside Assistance, I called Johnson Brothers and was put right through to the service department. The wonderful person who answered the phone in the service department told me that their Quick Lane could help me if I got there before 4 PM. After I got changed to a spare, I made it into Johnson Brothers around 2. The Quick Lane team started on my Explorer immediately. While they didn't have my tire in stock, they went out of their way to find a fix and get me back on the road in under an hour. I would absolutely consider using Johnson Brothers for service for their courtesy, professionalism, and willingness to go out of the way to help someone travelling through town. read more

My ford expedition engine light came on I read all of the reviews about the Ford dealership in Killeen, Texas and they were not good. I read the review on Johnson Brothers Ford in Temple and I only saw one bad review so I took my expedition to them. I was told I needed certain repairs done after they ran a diagnostic on all of the items I listed one of the parts I had repaired turns out could have waited the part that can't really wait will now have to wait because it's just as expensive as the part that I had repaired over $2,000 Ford won't help with the cost because they say my vehicle is too old even though I just had a Ford dealership put a brand new engine in it. Justin did his best to try to get them to help me with the cost of the repair but he was told my truck is too old. He went out of his way to help me out. I'm a little disappointed how my case was handled, but I am glad to have my truck back. read more

They have a "Quick Lane" service. They won't take appointments for an oil change. I showed up on a Friday morning at 11:00 and was told it was a 2 hour and 40 minute wait. It was the same story my last time. They actually did take an appointment on the Ford Pass app last time but then refused to honor it because it was a mistake on the app. Instead of just making excuses - start taking appointments. Their customer's time is valuable. We make appointments for Apple Store, doctors appointments, haircuts, & vaccines. Oil changes should be no different. They either need to start accepting appointments or change the name of the service lane to "Slow Lane". read more

Wow. So I just bought a 2018 Shelby and the front end started rattling so I took it to the service department here since it only had 4K miles on it. They sent me over to their quick lane dept who put it up on the alignment loft and found that someone had abused my new baby before I got her. Apparently someone driver her hard and fast and melted a huge hole into the front under valance- to the point that some of the rivet heads were ground down to nothingness- the valance was scraping the ground and causing the rattling. I had to use gorilla tape to keep it up and drive it to the shop. Anyway- got there and Bryant the quick lane manager got it in and lifted it. He called me to come out and look and oh my! I saw the damage. He also had Josh the mechanic come look at it. Josh has a Bullit so he knows what's up. They advised me to take it back to CarMax as I had only had it 3 weeks and this was obviously older damage. They did this all at no charge. They were incredibly professional and went out of their way to help me. I will use them for my service intervals and any other issues I have. I am a huge fan of using the dealership for maintenance and service as I know it will be done to manufacturer standards. But seriously- these guys were so accommodating and informative- and just really plain nice. Let me be clear that this review is for the people at the Johnson brothers Ford quick lane. The service advisor at the regular service department was nice but sent me to them. I will review them when the need arises. read more

I have a 2006 Lincoln Navigator. The air shocks were determined to be bad and needed replacing. They told me it was $2900.00 to do the front two and the rear two would need replacing soon so they should be done at the same time. Since there was obvious sticker shock he offered to convert my vehicle to springs for $2100 for all four wheels Amazon had the conversion kit for $276.00. I found Auto Lab in temple that would replace them all four for $500. However he said that for a small amount I could get the airbags from rock auto. I had all four replaced and stayed with air shocks for $1300.00. I realize that dealerships need to make money and stay in business but that is positively an outrage to charge $6000 for something that can be done for $1300. Shame. read more

Had a very disappointing experience in the service department. I stopped in there because my windshield wipers would not turn off. I was told by a service advisor who pointed to a service desk to go make an appointment. After discussing available times, I asked to speak to the service manager and was told there is nothing that can be done without an appointment.I completely understand the need to schedule service, however I also believe some offer of assistance could have been made beyond come back in a few days. I was driving on a slow leak for months with no time to get the car in to the shop when I no longer had a choice but to get new tires. Scott helped me research best prices and have a plan before I even got to him. I had a 30 minute window to get the car dropped off and get back to work. He had the shuttle driver ready when I got there and made the process so easy. He literally took my emergency and saved the day. The best part was he never made me feel bad about how specific my time crunch was or wanting the best tires for the best price. He just made it all work out without even batting an eye. You can make all the excuses in the world and there will be no excuse I will accept. If this was your daughter, mother, or wife's car you would not have put them on the road with brake problem or bad brakes. Stop trying to sound like it is not your service department's fault. Let me also explain I have dealt with Ford dealerships across this country from Savannah, GA to Anacortes, Washington. I have been a Ford person since I was able to drive.
