But beware, you have to get through the hostile, insulting receptionists to get anything. They recently switched to a different MyChart instance, but didn't tell us. They just cancelled the appointment in the old MyChart. When I called to ask what happened, I was told my mother was a "no show" and they would have set her up in the new instance if she had come in. I asked, "How would we have known to show up to an appointment you had cancelled?" The receptionist caught a huge attitude with me. She said, "I don't know what to tell you" and "What do you expect me to do about it?" I said this is literally your job. I told her some compassion and understanding would have gone a long way, and she said "I'm sitting here listening to you aren't I?" She never once asked if my mom required an urgent appointment (she did) and offered me an appointment 6 weeks out. I'm sure she thought she was really clever sticking it to an 82-year-old woman with advanced congestive heart failure. May your mother suffer a similar fate, Natalie. I filed a complaint and someone competent called me back and got my mom in the following Monday. We arrived and the receptionist working was so consumed telling another receptionist about her Jerry-Springer-show-worthy family and relationship drama, she completely forgot we were sitting there. Again, the actual care is good, fine, great. But they're really scraping the bottom of the Salem trailer parks for staff.

It's comforting knowing my mom is in such great hands.

As I walked in, I noticed how clean and tidy the clinic space is, very earthy, designed to make you feel comfortable. I sat down and filled out my intake form, which is very thorough. Then Sequoia guided me to the treatment room, I was offered a choice of tea and essential oil, I chose eucalyptus! Love eucalyptus, he let me know he's getting a diffuser soon, but for now he incorporated the essential oil into the treatment. After I sat down, he took my pulse and asked a few questions to clarify my responses on the intake form. And inquired any areas of concern I had, I said 'hormonal acne, left side of my neck is tight and right erector muscle' Then he left the room, I undressed to my level of comfort (I'm a massage therapist, so I'm super comfortable in this setting), placed my jewelry in the bowl provided and got on the massage table, under the flat sheet. During the treatment I was gently mesmerized by the music and felt a release in my left levator scapulae ( back neck muscle) as he needled it. He addressed my other concerns too and responded with a thorough answer when I asked what a certain point was for, or when I asked for the music to be a bit quieter he happily obliged. By the end I was drifting in parasympathetic mode aka 'rest and digest'. Very calm and peaceful place for your nervous system to switch into to heal and realign itself. Important, delicious and so necessary! Love when I come away from a treatment feeling this way. I will definitely be going back for regular treatments with Sequoia, he was awesome!

I took my daughter in for severe pain and vomiting. We waited for 9.5 hours to be told a cyst on her ovary had ruptured. This could have been a life or death situation. My second experience I was brought in the ambulance with a broken ankle. They all gathered around me for about 10 minutes. Then left for awhile. 1 nurse walked in told me others would be coming in to splint me if I needed pain killers to let them know. I'm balling the entire time they splint my leg. My husband asks the nurse to give me pain meds which never happened. When I was about ready to be released I had to ask f I was going to see a doctor at all and another nurse said that's me I'm the nurse practitioner. She only said 3 sentences to me the entire time I was there. My husband and I were in shock. They told me it was a clean break go home call the orthopedic department and get an appointment. I did for 2.5 weeks later. Everyone pushed me to go somewhere else. After 2 more different opinions. I have 2 breaks, a tendon that needs repair and my whole ankle is crooked. They did not splint it properly which would be as close to 90 degrees as you can get. I need a screw and wire in one bone that broke clean off. And screws and a plate on the other. If not my ankle can become dislocated and could need amputation. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Bandon ER is better than this ER. This is where the ambulance took me, I should have asked for Coquille. I'm giving it a 2 star because the imaging department is great and overnights are great as well. No issues there. Nurse Practitioners should NOT be in the ER period!!!
