I just really, really want to thank this hospital, for the amazing care I was given!! Before I go…read moreany further I would like to state first and foremost that I am a Latina / Chicana and it is very obvious that im brown. When i see people throwing the race card around i did not have any experience from the staff here i was here from Thursday 9/24 until 9/28, 2026 i felt absolutely cared for and respected!! Trust me i personally know what racism looks and feels like and i didnt have any of that the entire time i was there!! All the nurses and aides, respiratory therapists Robert & D dont wanna get his name wrong but he'll know it's him cuz I told him n I would call him that!! They were excellent at their jobs and I got my breathing g treatments every 4 hours!! Christine on Thursday was absolutely amazing and very sweet. Christine was one of the first people I met when I was rolled up to the 3rd floor. She was amazing before her shift was over clearly explained everything to me. How they were gonna make sure to help me get my breathing on track and I would be there all weekend!! I appreciated that because honestly I thought i was going to die!! To the all the people who helped me i cant thank you enough for your genuine caring and compassion. I feel grateful and want you all to know that u helped save my life!! With all the blood draws, and constant care I see how hard u all work and how busy u all are!! I especially want to thank the lady whose favorite color is orange of any shade!! I forgot her name but she was such a beautiful warm and friendly nurse. She had went to Greece with her husband for their 30 year anniversary. What a great lady .!! Amazing. So as u can tell i was in contact with a diverse group of caregivers and was well tooken care of. So was the lady I shared a room with . Anyway the weekend day I think NP was also amazing . She was great. For 4 days of great care I am breathing better and alive to talk about it!! THANK U ALL SO MUCH!!! Really quick like this isnt the only experience I've had here this is my go to hospital because it beats the alternative!! So please dont assume oh I've been here one time and dont know what im talking about. One more thing as we all know Dr's aren't passing out opiates and those type of pain pills like they used to, it is just the way it is these days. I am not implying that every one is drug seeking by any means but we all know they are out there. Laws have changed and no doctor wants to lose his career or license by passing out opiates like candy!! Times have changed . Rules and laws have to be followed!! Say what u want im just stating the facts!! Anyway I hope get the same great care I have experienced!! WRITTEN BY ABBY YOUNG,

I have…read morehad to go to the hospital 3 times for emergency and the wait was less than 1/2 hour in all 3 cases. I was taken care of and the problem I had was taken care of by the doctors and nurses. The last few months I was at the hospital due to blocked arteries which caused me to have a triple bypass, heart shocked twice, an ablation, and finally a pacemaker implanted. After my bypass I ended up in the Cardiac Care Unit where I was taken care of by the most professional caring doctors and nurses. It was like my comfort and recovery were the most important task they had. It is no wonder that they and the doctors and nurses at the McKenzie Heart Group are a level 3 star for patient care and outcomes. My understanding is that is the highest level attainable and there are only 3 in all of Oregon. Two in Portland and one at McKenzie-Willamette hospital with the McKenzie Heart group. You couldn't do any better than them for your heart care especially if you need bypass surgery.

My daughter had a long labor and the ladies here were all so caring, patient and helpful. After she gave birth, they took care of my daughter and baby to make sure everything was good and normal. As my brother's POA and representative I had to change his mailing address and after four months they still haven't managed it. The actual doctors and nurses and physical therapists? They did seem good, and I genuinely liked most of them. The hospital is in a nice location and we appreciated having sunlight and views. But the hospital is bad with communicating with each other and with us family members, bad with paperwork and legal bureaucracy, bad with computers. I watched my brother writhing in pain for 45 minutes while a nurse couldn't get the computer to allow the next dose of pain meds to come through. Eventually a pharmacy worker came up and they stood around the computer going, "Huh! That's interesting. Never seen that before." I had to file my power of attorney documents multiple times which is now described in the first paragraph of this review because it's gone on so long. "Maybe you should file it again with us in person," one guy said. I had already filed it, in person, at their front desk, and had the receipt for it. The real hands-on medical staff was focused on my brother's basic health needs to some degree, and I thank the medical professionals who saved his life. The hospital SYSTEM only cared about getting my brother out of his hospital bed as soon as possible, into some other kind of care facility, even though he'd caught a new bacterial infection while in their hospital.

This is an easy place to go if you need a regular check-up from a primary care physician or nurse practitioner, and I have been able to be seen either same or next day for acute problems. In addition , it took me 2 months of getting ignored to finally get a response from them concerning it. Several years ago I went to Dr Woolhiser twice. After my experience with those two appointments, I had my concerns about the doctor's care. So years later after an MRI found a different medical issue in my brain I didn't want to go back to Dr Woolhiser. My primary care physician even gave me a referral to neurology at Sacred Heart at Riverbend that even said right on the referral "NOT DR WOOLHISER". I called to make an appointment only to learn from the receptionist I needed permission to go to a different doctor other then Dr. Woolhiser. I was advised the only way to be allowed a different doctor was to get permission from the neurology office manager, Cinnamon first. Thus I had the receptionist send a request for that permission. I was then told I should expect to hear back from the office manager sometime in the next week. Cinnamon never called back. Over the first month I left a number of voicemails for return calls and still never heard from Cinnamon. My primary care physician even tried contacting Cinnamon and still no return call to them either. Finally after that whole month of messages I called hospital administration itself about my inability to get a response. I then got the hospital to request for Cinnamon to contact me. Funnily enough the day after the hospital sent its request I finally get a return call, go figure. Ultimately it took me a month of voicemails and the hassle of contacting hospital administration to finally get a single call back from Cinnamon. At that time Cinnamon advised me that the receptionist had gave me partially wrong information and in addition to her permission I needed permission from the doctors as well to change. Cinnamon said the doctors were having a meeting later that day and she would talk to them then and call back the following day with the response. Of course, I never got that call back. After that I began to leave even more voicemails for Cinnamon Finally after two months, all those messages and talking to hospital administration the receptionist finally calls with a denied response to me. She said my ONLY option was to go back to Dr. Woolhiser, who I neither trusted nor liked. In those two months if I hadn't been ignored I could have already been receiving medical care elsewhere. It's ridiculous that it took me all that effort to get a final response as to my request for permission to see a different doctor. I even told them I'd happily take any one of all their numerous neurologists. All I cared about was that it wasn't Dr Woolhiser, who due to my experiences with, I flat refused to ever go back to. Due to those 2 appointments for a completely different issue with Dr Woolhiser years ago and him telling me quite rudely that he couldn't do anything for me, I was denied permission. After those 2 months and regardless of the numerous voicemails and requests I left, I was only able to get a return call twice from anyone at Riverbend's neurology department Basically, the neurology department, doctors and office manager, Cinnamon,,were forcing a patient to only be able to see a doctor they had 0 faith in, nor trust in their abilities. I think that is all absolutely wrong, nor does it provide good care to the patient. What ever happened to getting a second opinion, as that policy doesn't even allow for that either. Patient's need to be able to have confidence in their doctors! Not to mention it shouldn't have to take a person two months and lots of effort to even get a response. I found all of my experience absolutely ridiculous as no true care was even given by the neurology office manager and its doctors.

All the staff from the Security Person at the entrance to the receptionist and medical staff were friendly and helpful. I would think this was possibly a "one off", but I had a very similar experience there 9 months earlier for a fairly serious hand injury requiring stitches. ITo mention a few: AFIB, Bradycardia, meningioma, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis throughout, Spondylitis, Degenerative Disc Disease, & a whole lot of pain to go with it all! If that wasn't enough, I was refused a Cologuard test kit (I had a pre-cancerous polyp removed 18 months ago, & 3 months later, I started experiencing intermittent bleeding in rear area, also intermittent bleeding in stomach). After being offered a stool sample DNA test, Dr. Everts denied it to me, refused me my heart/COPD meds, & refused any/all referrals, whether it be for Internal Medicine specialist and/or pain management. Instead of referring me to specialists, he told me to BEG all practitioners to get an Internist. It was a waste of waiting 3 months to see Dr. Everts. I'm 67, extremely disabled, housebound most the time. I made several complaints, one to Providence Insurance, who want me to file a formal grievance within the 60 days period, which I will. This should never have happened. I sent an email to office management, who called a few days later to ask what she could do to fix the issue. She explained that it wasn't a "good fit" with Dr. Everts. She wanted to help me. Much appreciated, though. In the interim she told me Dr. Everts said he'd be my PCP, but really, it's too late. Damage done. I, after 2 days solid all day on the phone/online, & got a Primary Care/Internal Medicine Dr. I see early February. Again, this should have never happened.

Hello my doctor sent notice that I want to see you guys for a stagnant wound. The Karen on the phone in a nasty voice.
