Great service, was able to walk me through a repair over the phone, didn't have to have a service visit.

This is the Reagan from the Howard Miller Presidential collection. It's been a few weeks and I'm still in love with this clock.

We had a great experience with McGuire's Clocks that I want to share. My wife and I were looking to buy a grandfather clock for our home and, like with most things now days, I went online searching. We must have looked at a hundred clocks, new and old, and then one Saturday decided to head to Austin to see some in person. Looking up a clock company revealed only one company in town. McGuire's is a small storefront with a whole lot of clocks to look at. If you're looking to know more about them, your expert needs to be Jason first and foremost. Jason also provides the community a wonderful service by periodically doing videos on YouTube, not only sharing their inventory but also informative how-to videos on their setup and care. Our visit was well worth the drive because Jason spent all the time in the world with us going over not only the mechanisms, but also the craftmanship and types of wood used, and areas of the world the various clocks are made. After all, it can be a big investment in something that isn't considered an essential item, but one that is adopted as an heirloom piece to be passed down through the generations. With Jason's guidance, we made our selection and unfortunately the one we wanted wasn't in stock. We ordered it and in about 2 months, our new clock was shipped to McGuire's. Since we were off on vacation for a few weeks, and since Jason wants to receive all clocks ordered so he can unpack them and check them over for proper functionality and issues in advance, he kept our clock for us until our return. He then delivered the clock for us, set it up in the location we made for it, and gave us all the information we needed to properly care for it. Everyone today wants to go to the internet and get their stuff there but let me tell you first-hand that if we did that, sure we'd get a clock shipped to us, but we'd have to figure out how to set it up and also know enough to check it over for any issues. And looking back on our experience, we would have paid more buying one on line, with less guidance, than we did with McGuire's. Do yourself a favor, if you're in the Austin area, entrust yourself to McGuire's Clocks and Jason's care. It was a first rate experience for us.

Fantastic service, Honest and no nonsense truth. I took my mantle clock to them because a little piece in the clock winding mechanism broke... the proprietor told me how long it would take and how much it would cost to fix the clock.. she told me all about the clock and I agreed to leave it for them to fix. I got a call earlier than expected and the service charge was exactly what she told me... They are very busy so don't expect a week or two service be prepared for 10-12 weeks. You will get tour clock back in perfect condition and working like it is new..

This is a long overdue Yelp review. Mechanical clocks have always fascinated me and I could spend all day in McGuire's Clock Shop. I've always wanted a grandfather clock so when my wife and I were ready to pull the trigger I contacted McGuire's because of my past experiences there. I pretty much knew what I wanted from internet research and when I contacted them I found out what I wanted was available. And for a terrific price! I bought it over the phone and Jason delivered it and had it ticking in our home within about 2 hours. This purchase was the absolute best major purchase we've ever made. All of my experiences with McGuire's have been excellent and I can't recommend them enough. They're a terrific family operated business who really take pride in providing the best service ever.

Jason was able to bring a nonworking vintage clock back to life. Extraordinary service. Lucky to have them here.

Called to get some repairs done to some antique clocks. The gentlemen said someone would call me back - never happened.

Now, the real star: the gluten-free baked goods. We tried four different things, cookies included, and honestly? I was stunned. The flavor, the softness, the balance, nothing felt like a "gluten-free compromise." It tasted like the real deal, maybe even better. Not overly sweet, not dry, not crumbly, just genuinely delicious pastries that happen to be gluten-free. I don't know what magic they're working in that kitchen, but this is easily the best gluten-free bakery I've come across. A must-visit, no question.

Every piece in the store appears to be intentionally curated. Maaribu melds a home and gift shop with an in house café and bakery, creating an experience that's both relaxing and memorable. According to Mable, my server, Maaribu is a combination of the word Marfa (Texas town that has the Prada store) and Malibu. The brand is often described as combining Marfa's creative spirit, Malibu's laid back lifestyle, and clean Scandinavian design. The shop portion of Maaribu is beautifully styled, featuring furniture, décor, books, and gifts that have a modern flare. All the items are easy to peruse and get drawn in. The use of color is playful and engaging. Maaribu's key highlight is its café and bakery. The in house café has an assortment of coffee, wellness beverages, and dedicated gluten free baked goods. I bought a Rose honey latte, which was divine along with a multi-layer pastry. Mable said customers enjoy the quality and flavor of the pastries...scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, and egg bites are frequent favorites. Importantly, the café is reported to be fully gluten free, which makes it a standout destination for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, without sacrificing taste or variety. The outdoor seating and patio area add to the charm, making Maaribu a great place to enjoy coffee and pastries on a nice Austin morning. AMAZING! Honestly, I could spend hours here and it still wouldn't be enough. I went in on a Friday night after work and there was only a handful of ppl in the store. LOVED THIS FOR ME. When I shop for anything, I just want to look around without feeling like someone is watching me, wondering why I'm taking so long, and/or asking if I need help over and over again. I love that this was not the case here. I ran into a few workers through out the store with whom I exchanged a smile and head nod but other than that, was left alone while I perused this enormous store. I stopped in originally to look at the art work and was not disappointed at all. There were so many beautiful items to look through. Everything was nicely arranged and the store was super clean. I will most definitely be back!

Truthfully, it had been a hard year and we wanted to do something that would feel cheerful. We parked and as we were walking in someone collecting carts curtly said "we're closed". I said "oh, it says you close in 15 minutes" which she replied "yeah well, they're not going to sell you anything." Cool. We brushed it off and walked in and two employees looked at us and one said "we're closed now, not enough time to shop." So we said "we were just going to look at the Christmas trees for 5 minutes" and the woman shook her head clearly frustrated. We walked over to the Christmas tree aisle and stood in silence for a beat. My husband turned and said "this doesn't feel joyful anymore". We could have used any of the following: kindness, holiday spirit, or anyone to simply stfu and keep their misery to themselves. Instead we were called out to rudely by two separate employees. You can keep your overpriced home goods and we'll happily find somewhere else to shop.
