Had a Rolex damaged in a car crash, the face crystal got all scuffed up and the clasp teeth got bent so it wouldn't stay on my wrist anymore. The gentleman behind the counter fixed and polished it within minutes, and offered the repairs at no charge. Please bear in mind, I had never done business here before, so it's not like he was doing a favor for an old client. I insisted he at least charge me something, so he settled for $20. Aside from kindness to strangers, this place also has a very nice selection of fine watches at reasonable prices. I went to 2 other shops to get a battery for my watch. One shop offered to replace the battery for $70, & said it would take a month to order the battery. I was delighted when ATX Watches looked at my watch for about 1 second and said it was solar powered; thus,no need to buy a new battery. Next, they had a nice silver chain at the ready to use to reconstruct my cherished necklace that had fallen apart, whereas the other place I went to had told me it would take a month to order the chain and wanted to charge a slightly higher price than ATX Watches. They also helped me diagnose a broken clock and pointed me in the right direction to get it fixed, whereas 2 other clock repair places had said rather arrogantly that the clock was irreparable.(it turned out to be a 5 minute fix.) I NEVER write reviews but I have been so impressed by these people that I felt it necessary, Mr husband had back surgery last week and was in the hospital recuperating for several days. Every time I'd pass ATX Watches on 35th Street I'd realize that my Tag wasn't working. I got there at 4:05 pm on Saturday and must've looked miserable staring in the window, as they had closed at 4:00. They were kind enough to let me in, despite it being after hours. They told me a battery replacement would be $40, and by that time I didn't care. The gentleman came back with my watch, said he replaced the battery, and said there would be no charge as my last battery (also replaced there) was less than 2 years old. Spectacular customer service, and they should be very proud of the reputation they have built. I know I'll never go anywhere else! read more

Disappointing experience. I dropped off my Rolex in April to get repaired. Took them until end of June to "repair it" but when I went to pick up they said it actually was not ready yet. Waited another month. Picked it up and a couple days later it stopped working. Had to go in for a third time. I got different explanations for why it wasn't ready or working each time. As should be amply evident by the photos on display at the top of their Yelp page, ATX Watches is one of the *very* few retailers in Austin with a truly comprehensive array of pre-owned watches. I've been collecting for years, and this place is where most of Austin's watch nerd crowd goes for service in particular. In terms of sales, they focus on pre-owned but also aren't an authorized dealer, and while this might seem like a negative to some, ADs are infamous for charging considerable sums for service work in particular. Perhaps oddly, most of Austin's watch-servicing locations have long been ones best described as ordinary: sure, they can change a battery, but few true watch aficionados wear quartz-powered (a.k.a. battery-powered) watches in the first place. Actually, there's one quite prominent exception as of late: the Omega-Swatch collab on the iconic Moonwatch. I don't own one, but I'd have no problem doing so: ATX Watches is one of the few, and possibly the *only*, place in town where you can buy one on the spot. (Pre-owned, but still.) The Swatch variation retails for around $300, but the shops prices escalate handily into five-figure territory for certain particularly desirable Pateks, APs, Omegas (non-Swatch ones, including pre-moon Speedmasters) & Rolexes, and while I didn't ask if they have a fixed price ceiling, anyone who knows these three brands knows that they each have models that routinely sell for SIX figures at resale (e.g. a Christie's auction). Btw I assume Korman is still the only place in town where you can purchase a literal brand-new Rolex (they're an AD), and if you don't mind snottiness levels on par with those at the bougie Hermès boutique on S. Congress, by all means check it out. Just don't be surprised when they tell you it's a multiyear wait even for a relatively ordinary model, let alone a Daytona or the newest Submariners with ceramic bezels. (This at least helps explain why a pre-owned late-model Rolex usually costs more than a brand-new one, though thankfully the market's cooled down considerably from its Covid-level peaks.) I went into ATX Watches last week to replace a broken bracelet on a Tudor watch, meaning a bracelet that I'd purchased online. While that's a simple job, I was nonetheless assuming I'd have to drop it off and come back next week or something: instead they offered to install it on the spot, and for free, which I'm used to only seeing if you purchase a bracelet or strap in-house. Now THAT is how you do customer service! I think my literal only complaint about the place is that it can be tricky turning left onto 35th St. from it. That's really it. read more

They repaired a diamond watch for $200 ($216.50 with tax), which I think took about two weeks. They said they had to wait on parts. They did advise when I dropped the watch off that the repair would likely be $200 and could take up to two weeks. They also provided a free estimate of the value of the watch. While I was there, I overhead a conversation between a customer and the counterperson who was seemingly the owner, not all of which I heard and some of which I forgot, but I distinctly remember that after the customer had calmly voiced some reasonable concern, the counterperson's reply ended with, "...so what do you care?" I was shocked that a store person would talk to a customer like that. read more

These guys are are fantastic, I brought in an AP who's bezels screws had been put back on incorrectly/mis-aligned by another shop and not only did they re-aligne them perfectly but they also buffed out a tiny scratch on one of the screws. To top it all off, Vlad didn't charge me a penny. They also seem to have a pretty nice collection of watches to chose from from vintage Vacherones and JLC Reverso to more affordable but very reputable brands like Oris. Some years ago, I took the watch I had inherited from my father to a different watch dealer whom I will not name in this review. The other watch dealer handled my dad's watch irresponsibly and never returned it to me. Instead, he gave me a "to do" list so I could resolve the question of how much money he owed me for losing it. On that list was the task of getting an estimate of the value of a watch which I no longer possessed. Not an easy task. In came Vlad of ATX Watches, LLC to the rescue. He accepted the photos I had of my father's watch and, using them, researched its monetary value. Without his help, I would not have received any compensation for the loss of my dad's watch. I had two vintage Omega watches sitting on another Austin jeweler's bench for 4-5 years. One was a '50s "bumper" automatic, and the other was a '60s Seamaster. Another Omega had just died, and I saw that the Old Time Clock shop in my neighborhood had a new sign outside that said ATX Watches. I took my "just died" vintage Omega into ATX and was surprised that they were so confident it could be repaired. When they called three weeks later, I went by "the other Austin jeweler" and retrieved the Omegas that had been sitting there 4-5 years. I just picked up my second Omega repair in as many months from ATX. I am beyond ecstatic to not only have my favorite vintage watches to wear again; but also to have a relationship with Vlad and his watch shop that will conscientiously take care of me and my vintage watches. read more

Made my first visit today to ATX Watches. I needed a battery installed in my wife's watch. The staff here took care of the battery replacement very quickly and at an extremely fair cost. I also had a conversation with a gentleman about a watch I have that needed repairs after an error on my part that caused shock damage to the watch, causing it to stop running. They took a look at it and quoted me a price for a full service. The price was not unreasonable nr unexpected for an automatic chronograph movement. I decided that due to possible parts that may need to be replaced, I might be better off sending it back to the factory in the U.K.. Because the pricing was in line with what I was expecting, I will likely take some of my other running auto movement watches here to be serviced in the future.
